Large Tree Strikes BART Car Near Concord

A downed tree struck a BART car Wednesday evening between the Concord and Pleasant Hill stations, causing delays on the system, BART officials said.

No one was injured, according to BART.

Ground staff is currently working to remove the tree, which BART officials described as large.

Because of the incident, BART cars are single tracking between the Pleasant Hill and Concord stations.

Passengers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, BART officials said.

I was on the train. Way more than a 20 minute delay. Closer to an hour and 20 minutes.

20 minutes by butt. We sat at PH station for over 45 minutes. At least we were sitting in a train most of the time so we didn’t look like drowned rats.

Why do they have large trees close enough to Bart trains that could fall and cause a hazard?

Because BART happens

Ah, come on guys.

A couple of passengers could have easily moved that log off the tracks and got the trains rolling again.

Yeah that’s a great idea let the passengers get out in the rain with live 1000 volts! What could go wrong…

I wish more people would completely miss the sarcasm in some comments. Oh wait…

I’m still waiting, did you have something else to add?

SARCHASM: The gulf between the maker of sarcastic wit and the person who just doesn’t get it.
