“1. Illegal immigration is wrong, and a primary goal of comprehensive immigration reform must be to dramatically curtail future illegal immigration.

2. Operational control of our borders–through significant additional increases in infrastructure, technology, and border personnel–must be achieved within a year of enactment of legislation.

3. A biometric-based employer verification system—with tough enforcement and auditing—is necessary to significantly diminish the job magnet that attracts illegal aliens to the United States and to provide certainty and simplicity for employers.

4. All illegal aliens present in the United States on the date of enactment of our bill must quickly register their presence with the United States Government—and submit to a rigorous process of converting to legal status and earning a path to citizenship—or face imminent deportation.

5. Family reunification is a cornerstone value of our immigration system. By dramatically reducing illegal immigration, we can create more room for both family immigration and employment-based immigration.

6. We must encourage the world’s best and brightest individuals to come to the United States and create the new technologies and businesses that will employ countless American workers, but must discourage businesses from using our immigration laws as a means to obtain temporary and less-expensive foreign labor to replace capable American workers; and finally

7. We must create a system that converts the current flow of unskilled illegal immigrants into the United States into a more manageable and controlled flow of legal immigrants who can be absorbed by our economy.”

mtzman January 11, 2019 at 10:35 PM

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully it will lead to greater recognition of the fact that Democrats, liberals, and progressives don’t want open borders but sound immigration policies and reasonable reform of a broken system, not a stupid wall and all of the disgusting anti-American, immoral, and anti-religious sentiment that goes with it.

Original G January 12, 2019 at 12:28 AM

Nice you believe they still want those 7 points. Here’s the rub, article where I originally found those 7 points via web search listed source URL on Schumer’s website. When clicked on URL returned an empty white screen.

As you can see URL in my post is from WayBack Machine Internet Archive. If those 7 points were still important and relevant would think they’d still be on his website.

Here’s a speech from Senator Obama,

Has now become more than just a “barrier” or “wall” or whatever it is called next week.

“Democrats are Rejecting a Long List of Other Border Security Measures to Spite Trump”
“…President requests at least $563 million for 75 additional Immigration Judges and support staff to reduce the backlog of pending immigration cases.”…

“…additional funding for 750 new Border Patrol Agents and $571 million for 2,000 additional Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents …”

“…$4.2 billion to support 52,000 detention beds. ”

“Counter-narcotics/weapons technology: $675 million would provide Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) technology at inbound lanes at U.S. Southwest Border Land Ports of ENtry (LPOE) would all CBP to deter and etect more contraband, including narcotics, weapons, and other materials that pose nuclear and radiological threats. This would reqires an increase of $631 million over the FY 2019 funding level in the Senate version of the bill.”

Bottom line politicians have conned previous Presidents by saying sign our continuing resolution to reopen government THEN we’ll take care of immigration later and they never do.

In short, . . . . THEY LIE ! ! !

Giddyup January 12, 2019 at 5:26 AM

@mtzman I guess it would be asking too much for liberals to acknowledge their participation in “all of the disgusting anti-American, immoral, and anti-religious sentiment that goes with it.”

Fred P. January 18, 2019 at 6:55 AM

A “stupid” wall??????? “Anti-American?” “Immoral?”

How about OBEY THE EFFING LAW??????????

C’mon, mtzman – even the idiot democrat politicians who you worship so much were all in favor of the wall several years ago.

Now go call them “stupid.” Or just sit quietly and be a hypocrite.

Robles January 11, 2019 at 7:06 PM

Oh my.

‘After President Trump fired former FBI director James Comey in May 2017, the FBI opened an investigation into whether Trump was secretly “working on behalf of Russia against American interests,” the New York Times reports.’

SF oh January 12, 2019 at 8:45 AM

…… and the investigation found nothing.

mtzman January 12, 2019 at 9:20 AM

Well, except for the 33 indictments, several felony convictions, and a still-ongoing investigation, I guess you could call that nothing …

Robles January 12, 2019 at 9:24 AM

@ SF oh

Need to keep in mind that Mueller’s investigation is not over.

Fact Checker January 12, 2019 at 10:05 AM

@SF oh, none of us – including you – know what the investigation found. Bob Mueller was appointed shortly after the FBI opened the counterintelligence investigation. It was then handed over to Mueller, along with the criminal investigation. We have no knowledge whether or not he pursued the counterintelligence investigation or what he found.

SF oh January 12, 2019 at 10:50 AM

I was replying ONLY to Robles’ post beginning with “Oh my”. Robles’ post referenced a specific article in the NYT and a specific investigation. To which I replied with a specific answer regarding that specific investigation. It was five words. I can’t dumb it down any further. The NYT article was printed only to stir the pot. Even ABC news reported that THAT SPECIFIC INVESTIGATION found nothing. Robles’ post, or my reply, made no mention of the entire Mueller investigation.

Tsa January 11, 2019 at 7:08 PM

Loved the Pelosi and Schumer comedy routine on TV this past week. They should take their act on the road.

Robles January 11, 2019 at 7:39 PM

How can they compete against the biggest joker of them all, Trump?

Giddyup January 12, 2019 at 1:33 PM

Schumer and Pelosi … the funniest thing going! DEMOCRATS IN ACTION! Hope they make it a regular thing. Ha ha ha hahahahaha!

Robles January 12, 2019 at 4:31 PM

@ Giddyup

You’re right they were pretty much laughed off a stage…. Oh… wait… no, now I remember it was trump that was laughed at by World Leaders at a UN General Assembly meeting when he was giving a speech.

It’s also funny that do deals have been struck by the so called dealer-maker.

Original G January 11, 2019 at 7:17 PM

When first saw this on a website did not believe it.
So went to YouTube and searched for the NBC video of Democrat reply to President Trump’s Oval Office speech.

Check it out for yourself, in video the label or Chyron (on-screen graphic) across lower part of video says “Democratic Response”.

Count the number of stars on either side of those words, then count the number of US Flags behind Pelosi and Schumer.

From left to right six stars, six flags then six more stars.
Did some one intentionally set up the democrats ? ? ?

Peter January 11, 2019 at 10:02 PM

What is your point?

Giddyup January 12, 2019 at 5:37 AM

Still liberals most outstanding quality, their gullibility.

Dr. Jellyfinger January 12, 2019 at 8:49 AM

666 the sign of the Devil …..

Great subliminal message!

Dr. Jellyfinger January 12, 2019 at 9:02 AM

Speaking of “gullibility”
I have a cousin who is a flaming Liberal and the only person I know who can’t figure out the SFW riddle….. you have to be standing in front of a mirror with a finger in one ear to get the answer.

Ok, here it is:

Repeat the riddle 3 times to get the answer

Silva January 12, 2019 at 9:06 AM

I don’t get it either, Original G.

Original G January 12, 2019 at 10:44 AM

Tried to reply with a URL showing screen grab of NBC video which explained it and circled instances of star groupings and flags but it did not make it thru moderation.

Thank You Dr. Jellyfinger

Silva January 12, 2019 at 11:47 AM

Don’t lose it now, y’all!

Anonymous January 11, 2019 at 7:58 PM

Mayhaps someone smarter than me could explain why Pelosi and now Governor Newsome call a wall “immoral”

Does that mean we have to take down existing walls? Or do we just call them fences?

So confusing

Original G January 11, 2019 at 8:49 PM

Democrats are fond of using single words, easier for their followers to remember, rather than trying to go into in depth explanations.

From an infamous 20th century Socialist,
“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach”

Sick of it January 11, 2019 at 9:38 PM

Amazing that Newsom can even say Immoral with out bursting into flames, the word fits him so well. How many Governers can call there best friends wife there own. As a CA citizen I am deeply concerned in the directions n this state is heading in and he will only hasten that pace

mtzman January 11, 2019 at 10:11 PM

It’s not “a” wall that is immoral, it’s “the” wall and all that goes with it that is immoral.

Robles January 11, 2019 at 10:39 PM

@ Sick of it

. . . . and yet you have no issues with trumps extra marital affairs with at least one when his current wife was pregnant!

Sick of it January 12, 2019 at 8:46 AM

His friends wife. If he will screw over a Friend what morals at all does he have. But then again in the liberal eye you justify anything by using Trump

Robles January 12, 2019 at 8:55 AM

@ Sick of it

Trump takes Putins word over the FBI and his own intelligence community investigations and findings.

Trump is for Russia over the US, yeah I guess it’s not a big deal.

Sick of it January 12, 2019 at 12:22 PM

As soon as they come up with some proof I will believe it. 2 years and no ties shown yet. Keep living in that dream. But like they say hate blinds

Fred P. January 12, 2019 at 8:07 PM

Liberals are ok with newsome screwing his friends wife while he was in office, because Trump did it while not in office.

Liberal “logic.”

Robles January 13, 2019 at 8:07 AM

@ Fred P

Wouldn’t consider myself a liberal, but if it makes you feel better you can call me ‘peaches’.

I never said I’m ok with Governor Newsom having an affair, but how can anyone mention moral values when trump has absolutely none. So you’re saying since trump’s many affairs were committed when he was a civilian that makes it OK?

Fred P. January 18, 2019 at 7:03 AM

Walls are now “immoral?”

Poor snowflake walls…..

Mike January 11, 2019 at 11:22 PM

I miss when we had politicians who you could respect, regardless of their party. Never in my life have I seen such toddler-like behavior from a president.
I am ashamed of our president. I didn’t agree with Obama, and really not with Bush, but I never felt ashamed nor embarrassed of them. We are at an unprecedented time in history, where a 70-year-old man is running our country and throwing temper tantrums on Twitter.

Not a Trump Fan January 12, 2019 at 4:50 PM

Agree 100%. He is the butt of jokes all over the world. I don’t know how he has made it as far as he has with his “big brain” because he appears stupid the way he talks and all the mistakes in his tweets; doesn’t know the difference between forrest and forest or counsel and council or smoking and smocking (that was one of my favorites) etc. etc. etc….

@Robles, agree 100%, believes Putin, Flynn, Rocket Man. Roy Moore etc. etc. just because they deny, deny, deny makes them believable but 17 intelligence sources are wrong. That’s because he wants people to believe him when he denies, denies, denies. He’s Toast!

Giddyup January 12, 2019 at 6:03 AM

If you find the word “wall” distasteful, then think of it as a “fence.” Whatever you want to call it, it is a necessary security measure to protect the infkux of the criminal illegal element into the country.

Peter January 12, 2019 at 3:16 PM

Trump is now calling it “peaches”.This pathetic excuse for POTUS is severely mentally ill.

Fred P. January 12, 2019 at 8:00 PM

Peter – And you can make a diagnosis of mental illness by watching tv?

Let’s see your CV.

Peter January 12, 2019 at 10:37 PM

Fred,I learned this in freshman high school psych 101.It is amazing when your only response to obvious mental illness is to claim the only people qualified to make a diagnosis have a PHD in psychology,Trump is a chronic, habitual and pathological liar.It does not take a PHD to put those 3 things together and come up with severe mental illness. It is staring you right in the face. Please wake up to this fact before it is too late.WE have guy in the OVAL OFFICE who is insane.IT is FACT.

Giddyup January 13, 2019 at 5:03 AM

Yep! Freshman high school psych 101 makes everybody an expert in diagnosing mental illness … and without even interviewing the client, at that.

Giddyup January 13, 2019 at 5:52 AM

@Peter Please post your address so that the criminal illegal aliens will know where to find their “sanctuary” once they’ve snuck over the border. You know the sanctuary I’m talking about, don’t you? The sanctuary that liberals like you who are sympathetic to the illegal’s journey are promoting? How many bedrooms do you have available for them? Housing is scarce in California … can you take multiple criminal illegal aliens? I just know you want to help. I’m sure, of course, that you must not lock your doors, so you won’t have to wait up for them … they’ll just be able to walk right in. Gee, thanks.

Fred P. January 18, 2019 at 11:34 AM

Peter – we’re still waiting for your “cv” – something beyond “claiming” to have taken a high school psych 101 class. FYI – making a diagnosis of insanity is not a fact, but is an opinion.

So if you’re claiming it’s fact, let’s see you publish your “facts” under your real name and mail it to Congress. Or are you just hiding your opinion like a good little troll?

I suppose you’re claiming to be a famous artist because you don’t need both hands to hold onto a crayon. There are differences between facts and opinions….but you’ll never be able to tell the difference.

Giddyup January 12, 2019 at 6:12 AM

Let’s talk about what is really “immoral,” asking anyone to immigrate legally when millions don’t have to.

Anonymous January 12, 2019 at 7:41 AM

Serious , non partisan question:

Are federal employee health care payments being made? I haven’t seen one thing in the news.

Tariff Man January 12, 2019 at 8:15 AM

Weekly reminder.

Days without Trump being an absolute National embarrassment and disaster.

Silva January 12, 2019 at 8:38 AM

Here are a few primary reasons I feel it’s so wrong to leverage our futures for a vanity monument to Donald Trump. There’s barely any mention of the destruction of critical wildlife habitats in MSN and discussions like this everywhere.

Study: Trump’s Border Wall Threatens 93 Endangered Species; Jaguars, Wolves, Owls Among Those in Harm’s Way

6 ways the border wall could disrupt the environment;

It just isn’t all about us.

Dr. Jellyfinger January 14, 2019 at 6:14 PM

Silva, I happen to know that owls can fly over the wall….
and I would actually prefer the wall to keep the Jaguars & wolves on the Mexico side! I am an especially tasty person

Silva January 15, 2019 at 2:43 AM

“Even the pygmy owl is at risk, because when flying, it’s range is less than five feet off the ground.” 🙄

Dr. Jellyfinger January 15, 2019 at 10:06 AM

Just how high can a Pygmy Owl fly?

Silva! be for real…. a Pygmy Owl’s “nest site usually in a tree cavity, either in natural hollow or (perhaps more often) in abandoned woodpecker hole, and usually 8-25′ above ground”.

So how does the Owl get 25′ above ground?
Do you think the flies up 5′ into a tree and then climbs up another 20′ ? Maybe it’s got acrophobia?

In any case I can’t believe that tiny owl couldn’t fit between those metal slats… and given that it isn’t a man eater, I welcome the Pygmy Owl. Bienvenido a los Estados Unidos Búho !

Silva January 15, 2019 at 8:53 PM

Wrong Pygmy Owl. That one isn’t endangered. the Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl is the one the concern’s over. It nests in cacti.

U.S.-Mexico Border Fence Hinders Wildlife
Ferruginous Pygmy-Owls and bighorn sheep are two of the roving species that could be affected.

Silva January 16, 2019 at 4:02 PM

My gosh that must be the cutest little thing to see!!!

Barney R January 12, 2019 at 9:15 AM

Breed thousands of crocodiles and rattlesnakes all along the border that will take care if any illegals trying to cross.

Silva January 12, 2019 at 11:11 AM

Giddyup January 12, 2019 at 1:41 PM

Make up your mind, Silva. Crocodiles and rattlers won’t help the “,,, 93 Endangered Species; Jaguars, Wolves, Owls Among Those in Harm’s Way.”

Silva January 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM

I know.

Change January 12, 2019 at 9:19 AM

Dump trump! The most embarrassing clown to represent our nation. I can’t wait to see him go.

94517 January 12, 2019 at 7:25 PM

I’ll keep Trump you keep the change.

Concord Grape January 12, 2019 at 9:26 AM

800,000 federal employees are not being paid. How about the members of congress? Shut down their pay and see how fast things get done. Oh, that’s right, they voted against it. Bring on the clowns

Commonsensenor January 12, 2019 at 9:37 AM

“…and he just walked out”

This is probably my favorite sound bite of all time. Our nation is FINALLY addressing an issue that should have been fixed five or more decades ago. Today, our border is an absolute joke.

People are flying into Mexico City from literally all over the world, then simply walking through our border absolutely unchecked. 450 apprehensions, and 133 were from countries like China, Ecuador, Pakistan, Nicaragua?

Only an absolute fool would say there is no problem on our border. Thank you President Trump for doing what we elected you to do.

mtzman January 14, 2019 at 3:43 PM

Well, I guess maybe we aren’t seeing the best and brightest. I mean, if someone has the resources to fly from China or Pakistan or from literally all over world in order to walk through our border absolutely unchecked you would think they would be smart enough to fly to one of the Canadian cities on or near the border instead of Mexico City which is more than 1700 miles from Tijuana. Of course, if they walk through absolutely unchecked, how is it they were apprehended?

Silva January 14, 2019 at 4:23 PM

It’s a helluva walk! Sticking out like a sore thumb all the way, too.

Dr. Jellyfinger January 14, 2019 at 6:05 PM

So mtzman…. you begin to understand….
America is being invaded by the world’s stupidest people.
We have to make it stop!

mtzman January 14, 2019 at 6:43 PM

And somewhere singing wistfully in the background is Judy Collins: “Send in the clowns. Don’t bother, there here.”

Ricardoh January 12, 2019 at 10:09 AM

In 1960 the Latin population of California was 7.2%. In 2018 the Latin population is 39%. We don’t got to show you no stinken badges. Never knew what that meant before.

Not a Trump Fan January 12, 2019 at 4:31 PM

How do you know if they came illegally? or are legal or not? Sounds like you just have a problem with the fact that they are latin. Populations of all ethnicities have grown everywhere since 1960.

Ricardoh January 12, 2019 at 5:23 PM

Not a Trump fan Nearly one in ten California workers is an undocumented immigrant.
California’s labor force includes about 1.75 million undocumented immigrants, according to the PRC. This is the second-highest statewide concentration of undocumented workers (9.0%) in the US after Nevada (10.4%). Undocumented immigrants work disproportionately in agriculture, construction, and manufacturing.

Ricardoh January 12, 2019 at 5:38 PM

Not a Trump Fan What I wrote was percentages of the population of California. Latinos went from 7.2 of our population in 1960 to 39% now. Is that a problem,I don’t know. It will be future generations that will find out. The non Hispanic White population is 38 % one percentage point lower.

Not a Trump Fan January 13, 2019 at 10:58 AM

Ricardoh, So what!!! Why do you care so much that white people represent 1% less than Latinos or any other ethnicity? Are white people better than Latinos or African Americans or Asians etc.? That’s the definition of racism. I judge people on their integrity, heart, intelligence, work ethic, kindness, etc.; not by the color of their skin or where they came from. That’s one of the reasons why Trump is so despicable to me and why most of his supporters are white. He’s from a generation that believed white was best and unfortunately he hasn’t grown with the times. He doesn’t seem to care much about white illegals who are from Canada, Norway or other “whiter” countries. I don’t know if your numbers are accurate but just because someone is Latino doesn’t mean they’re illegal.

With that said, I’m not okay with letting illegal immigration go unchecked but report after report say that Visa overstays and other Visa issues are the largest culprit. A “peaches” is not even practical along many miles of the border. Spend the money smarter.

RANDOM TASK January 12, 2019 at 11:04 AM

Wow so most hate trump because he tweets
Not because he passed a phony healthcare or defunded schools in favor of funding illegals with our tax money like a socialist country or just plain stopped funding road repair or maintaining infrastructure
Not because he raised taxes 5 times over 6 years and taxed gas over and over
People what is going on
Potus has been bullied and harassed and media biased from the start
Because he has money ….jealousy breeds idiots
Because he allegedly had sexual relations not with his wife …hmmm people still love bill for doing so to his wife ???? Double standard
Because he wants to secure our country from harm ….at least he cares about this country
Because he is accused of Russian collusion …lest we forget Hillary colluding to get Russia plutonium on the sly
Because the media says he is racist …please your racist against rich white people

Stop being part of a socialist agenda and start being concerned that the country is being given away
This country was founded to be a place of freedom that does not exist in the rest of the world
YOU are stripping this countRy of its whole purpose and cause and rights
Why because you hate a rich white man for wanting more for this country
For wanting to maintain the sovrenty of this country
For wanting to maintain the freedoms thousands faught for and died for

Change January 12, 2019 at 11:06 AM

What’s your point?

Ricardoh January 12, 2019 at 11:55 AM

Didn’t think it was that hard to figure out. Here goes. They didn’t have to show no stinken badges. They came across the border illegally. Even you should figure that out. By the way I hope you enjoy Trumps second term as much as the first.

mtzman January 13, 2019 at 8:14 AM

I still don’t know what you’re talking about.

On a related note, since the US Census did not start identifying Hispanics as a separate category until the 1980 census, where did you get the percentages and other data?

Silva January 12, 2019 at 11:07 AM

Donald Trump’s real estate sales in 2018
“Donald Trump still owns an estimated $437 million worth of residential real estate, opening up the possibility that anyone could theoretically buy a property and funnel money to the president of the United States. For those not interested in condos or mansions, there are other ways to line Trump’s pocket, through his hotels and his commercial real estate portfolio. And it’s even easier to disguise who is paying the president that way. Unlike buying real estate, staying in a Trump hotel or renting space in one of his office buildings typically creates no public paper trail.”

Mitch McConnell needs to put the bi-partisan agreement to end the shutdown from the House he shot down to a vote in the Senate. He prefers to ignore our Constitution and make up his own rules though. This certainly isn’t the first time.

Original G January 12, 2019 at 12:44 PM

Just for fun let us look on the other side at Pelosi.
Estimated net worth of $100,643,521 in 2015.
An of course with the multiple homes, servants 24 hour government security she can of course relate to someone living below the poverty line of those who are homeless.

11 Zinfandel Lane – Home & Vineyard $15,000,000
25 Point Lobos – Commercial Property $15,000,000
Recreation/Live Entertainment $30,000,000
Real Estate $55,925,000
Took place St. Helena, CA.
“A large perfectly polished and gleaming black SUV is attempting a left turn from Hunt onto southbound Main (not easy). Suddenly blue/red lights are flashing from the windshield area of the SUV (like you would see in an official fire/police vehicle). I said to my friends, I’ve never seen that before on a “regular” vehicle and I’d think that’s illegal and dangerous.” …

“The big black SUV then darts out across both lanes of traffic with lights flashing in both front and rear windows. It goes directly into the red zone/fire hydrant area in front of Padis and Footcandy.” …

“As I approach Footcandy,” (shoe store) “Nancy Pelosi comes out with her shopping bags and the man assists her into the awaiting SUV. The SUV, with lights flashing, bursts back into southbound traffic.

Privilege? Power? Arrogance? Whose SUV, taxpayers? ”

This from a woman who a couple of weeks ago intimated she has equal power to President of the United States of America.

Fred P. January 12, 2019 at 8:03 PM

@OG… but you know Pelosi was always for the “little people”

And why does she live behind walls/fences if she’s against them?

Answer to both? Hypocrisy.

Silva January 12, 2019 at 1:49 PM

Do you suppose she’s selling shares to foreign entities and other interested parties?

“More than half of that $35 million came from a single deal, in which Trump and business partners offloaded a federally subsidized housing complex in Brooklyn for about $900 million. The president held a 4% stake in the property, according to his personal financial disclosure report. After subtracting roughly $370 million in debt, Forbes estimates Trump walked away with $20 million or so before taxes. The deal required approval from officials inside the Department of Housing & Urban Development, which rolls up to Donald Trump.”

jon s January 12, 2019 at 3:14 PM

No shortage of liberal tears from here to eternity. They are done.

Not a Trump Fan January 12, 2019 at 5:08 PM

All this talk about the “crisis” at the border and government shutdown is just to get the news cycle from concentrating on the Mueller investigation which by all accounts is getting closer and closer to Trump and Trump Jr. One thing’s for sure, Trump, who loves to be “the best or biggest ever,” is now owner of the longest government shutdown ever. It is despicable to use middle class, hard working families as leverage because the “self-appointed best deal maker ever” wouldn’t make a deal. He’s had several deals that made it through the House and Senate only to back out at the last minute.

A Trump Fan January 12, 2019 at 7:37 PM

Not A Trump Fan: The only deal that the house and senate could agree on, would be to remove all wire and fence from the border, then put up signs, telling all that wants to cross the border, come on across, and you will be supported. Well I can tell you, that isn’t what President Trump has in mind for the border. I have a question for you, and the rest here. If there wasn’t any criminals are terrorists crossing the border, do you believe those crossing, contributes to the country as much as they receive? Either way, your ok with them coming in.

Fred P. January 12, 2019 at 7:57 PM

So if you’re ok with open borders, you’re ok with leaving your house and car unlocked…. as well as personally feeding and clothing them.

Dr. Jellyfinger January 12, 2019 at 8:36 PM

Mueller? You’re still holding out hope for a Mueller miracle?

Not a Trump Fan January 13, 2019 at 11:18 AM

Trump Fan, your facts are not true. Back in early 2018, there was an agreed upon proposal among Senate, House, and Trump that gave him 25B for border security, which included compromises on both sides and inexplicably overnight Trump backed out of the deal because he got flack for agreeing to a pathway to citizenship for the Dreamers. Then just before Christmas he changed his mind again on a deal leaving Senate Leader O’Connell with his pants down. It’s really hard to negotiate a deal when you aren’t willing to give anything in return and you keep moving the goal posts.

Original G January 12, 2019 at 5:33 PM

What happens when socialist politicians raise taxes in order to finance their flawed Utopian plans ? ? ?

“Riot police blast tear gas at Yellow Vest activists who return fire with catapults as violence rages into ninth week after thousands flood French capital in tax fury”

“…claims that a disproportionate burden of the government’s tax reforms were falling on the working and middle classes…”

A Trump fan January 12, 2019 at 6:59 PM

Not a Trump Fan. The only deal the House and senate could agree on is just open the border completely, and put up signs telling everyone they are welcome to come on in, you will all be taken care of. Well I can tell you, that isn’t the plan that President Trump has in mind for this country. A police officer was killed in Newman by an undocumented immigrant. This supposedly contributes to the “national emergency” on the southern border. A police officer was killed in Davis by yet another mentally disturbed man. Too many people are getting killed by guns in this country. Many, many more people have been killed by citizens of this country with guns than by undocumented immigrants. This is the real national emergency. Perhaps Trump could be given some money for his stupid wall in exchange for real gun control. Unfortunately, this will never happen. People who think a wall on our southern border will solve all our problems and who do not think we have a very serious issue with guns in our country are truly ignorant.

Original G January 12, 2019 at 11:26 PM

So there’s an illegal scared he might get deported, he’s drunk an probably not remembering CA is a SANCTUARY state. So in a fight or flight response kills An immigrant who came here LEGALLY, has a
Wife and small child.

Next a person with mental problems kills a Police officer in Davis,CA.
When facts of the case are known two things will likely come out, shooter was known to law enforcement and procedures and Laws already on the books were not followed allowing the shooter to legally purchase the firearm.

How about addressing MENTAL health and making it a crime with sever monetary penalties for failing to follow laws ans established reporting procedures which would disqualify a person during a background check.

A few instances where failure to follow laws and procedures resulted in m,ass shootings.

Texas Church killings,
“Air Force failed to flag up Texas church gunman for his assault arrest SIX times before he massacred 26 people…”

“Air Force Error Allowed Texas Gunman to Buy Weapons”

260 page report listing failures in Virginal Tech mass killings

Aurora Theater mass shooting,
Known to law enforcement, mental health issues known.
“Psychiatrist warned James Holmes was dangerous”

Tuscon mass shooting,
‘ ‘mentally unstable dropout’ who had met Gabrielle Giffords before ‘

“Jared Loughner Had 5 Run-ins with College Police”

Navy Yard mass shooting,
“Report: Concerns about Navy Yard shooter never reported”

Parkland mass shooting,
“Here’s what Broward schools knew about Parkland shooter”
“Did Lax Obama-Era School-Discipline Policies Enable the Parkland Shooter? ”

Democrats are evidently incapable of ensuring current mandatory reporting be done to ensure firearms can not be purchased by the mentally defective. OR is it that they need mass shootings to fuel their anti 2nd amendment crusade ?

In FACT their best efforts seem focused on how many bullets can be fired before the firearm has to be reloaded. Something easily overcome by a shooter bringing multiple firearms then discarding as the go empty.

Something to ponder over your Sunday morning coffee regarding democrat promoted “gun free zones”,

“What society in human history ever gathered its children together, then issued a public guarantee that they would be left completely undefended? Alex Rawls

OG, what you fail to mention in this long list of tragedies is that to my recollection, not one of these incidents were carried out by illegal immigrants. You also failed to mention Las Vegas, Florida nightclub, Sandyhook Elementary…the list is very long. In fact, these were carried out by American citizens who were predominantly white males. They killed far more people than undocumented immigrants. I agree with Fed Up, the real “crisis” is horrible gun laws. The NRA has far too much power and influence particularly over the GOP party. And I’m not advocating taking away peoples guns but nobody not fighting a war needs the fire power so easily available. The NRA actually tried to squash banning bump stocks which again no-one needs for protection or hunting.

And how exactly are Dems to blame for not being capable of ensuring current mandatory reporting be done so mentally ill can’t get firearms? The last 8 years have been led by the NRA, I mean GOP congress/senate and they are the ones who won’t pass stronger federal background checks and reporting. Dems just mention comprehensive gun control and the GOP/NRA goes bat-s**t crazy.

Wow, bet you never saw this coming: “A GoFundMe campaign to subsidize what it called “the Trump Wall” will refund all money to donors because it did not meet its $1 billion goal, said Bobby Whithorne, director of North America Communications for GoFundMe. Donors will receive their money on April 11, unless they choose to donate their contribution to the campaign creator’s new venture, GoFundMe said in an email to the campaign’s participants.”

And it may just be that the campaign creator’s new venture is, well, the campaign creator himself. “The refund announcement came a day after BuzzFeed News reported that Kolfage pocketed money in a previous GoFundMe campaign intended to help other wounded soldiers. Kolfage raised $16,246 for a veteran mentorship program, but BuzzFeed News reports that after collecting the funds, he didn’t use the money as promised: none of the partners he claimed to have worked with — including Walter Reed, Brooke Army Medical Center and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany — have any records that Kolfage worked with their patients or donated money, according to representatives at the centers that BuzzFeed News spoke to.”

Fred P. January 13, 2019 at 10:22 AM

Peter… you OBVIOUSLY have NO idea of the difference between fact and opinion.., and CERTAINLY making a claim that trump is a “pathological liar” and “insane” displays your ignorance.

And to claim that a high school psychology class class allows you to make a diagnosis based on NO observations of your own shows how clueless you are about reality. Based on your “expertise”, why don’t you open up a psychology consulting practice, and you can hang out your shingle stating “I had a class in high school once.” Taking a single class in it certainly doesn’t give you enough information to make a diagnosis…. or are you attempting to practice without a license.

We all really know what’s going on. You’re just another sore loser that can’t handle the reality of Trump having WON the election.

Now go back to crying in your pablum, junior. And you might want to talk to your high school teacher about that psychology class… were obviously standing behind the door.

@Jim R

The Democrats are using the Russia investigation as a means to overthrow President Trump. This is sadly ironic for many reasons. The Democrats are moving towards left wing radical socialism. Russian ideology is right up their ally.

But here’s even bigger issue:

Once Ruth Bader Ginsberg steps down, the Democrats will use “Russia” as an excuse to impeach President Trump.

The Democrats will attempt to derail Trump’s appointment of another conservative Supreme Court Justice. They don’t want to be blocked from hi-jacking what’s left of our democracy.

Of course, if you watch CNN and MSNBC you will be hit with non-stop, anti-Trump, propaganda. CNN, the “Communist News Network” is very “pro Russian” in their ideolgy.

Also remember that Congress can “resist” on the taxpayer’s dime forever. They are still getting paychecks.

When President Trump remarked “I never worked for Russia”, what he really meant was: CNN, MSNBC, and the other brainwashed media morons are complete idiots. Which is why his press briefings are so often hilarious.

The progressives have hijacked the Democrat party. And sadly, we no longer have watchdogs in the media. They have turned in Democrat lapdogs.

Mark Levin’s show: “Life, Liberty and Levin” airs Sunday nights on Fox News. On Jan 13, his guest was author, Paul Kengor. He discussed his book entitled “Dupes”, How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century.

Most of mainstream media, academia, and the Hollywood elite are being duped by the left.

Mueller is another dupe. And, he is at the center of a soft coup to overthrow the POTUS.

Trump has been very tough on Russia. Obama, on the other hand, is a communist sympathizer. And, maybe you can explain why there are so many communist Democrats? Nancy, Chuckie, Bernie, Pocahontus, and the rest. They only pretend to fear the Russians. In reality they fear conservatives.

STUDY: Living in cities makes people mentally ill, while living in the country improves health and prevents early death.

A recent analysis commissioned by Friends of the Earth Europe finds that living in the countryside offers greater health benefits than living in the city. Researchers at the Institute for European Environmental Policy examined data from more than 200 academic studies and finds that living in the countryside — where green, open spaces can be easily accessed — may help cut the risk of premature death and certain diseases. Conversely, living in heavily-polluted cities may raise the risk of these conditions, the analysis shows. The results of the analysis support previous findings that residing in industrialized cities and urban areas could be a primary risk factor for a host of adverse health conditions.

I’ll refrain from the obvious jocular comment – only to say that cities in California are primarily liberal.

What the hell – that proves liberalism is a mental illness.

They voted for the 2006 Secure Fence Act which allocated $1.5 Billion for erecting fence that would total 700 miles, increase lighting and more vehicle and pedestrian checkpoints.

I’m all for securing our borders but I want my tax money to go to securing the ways most illegals are in the country, through overstaying their visas. I’d be all for pumping 50 billions dollars into overhauling our immigration system through technology and assuring that those with temporary visas leave when they expire.

I want to see those who come here seeking asylum are fully vetted and the process is expedited, desperate people do desperate things to get in to this country. I want more people checking cargo planes, boats and vehicles coming into ports of entry fully checked for illegal contraband and that includes people.

According to the DEA: “Mexican TCOs transport the majority of illicit drugs into the United States across the SWB using a wide array of smuggling techniques. The most common method employed by these TCOs involves transporting illicit drugs through U.S. ports of entry (POEs) in passenger vehicles with concealed compartments or commingled with legitimate goods on tractor trailers.” The assessment also mentions that drugs come in through drone, ultralight aircraft and vessels. A wall isn’t going to stop that.

We need to spend money in a responsible way, one that will actually work. He said Mexico would pay for it… that’s not going to happen through tariffs or anything else.

Even China says the Great Wall wasn’t effective in keeping others out. Trump needs to stop listening to Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh & Sean Hannity. A deal was made back in December that provided some funding plus the 1.5 billion already given to him in 2018.

Hope that helps answer your inquiry.

Chicken Little January 18, 2019 at 3:43 PM

It’s a common talking point among Democrats that we would be better served to do something about all the once-legal immigrants who overstay their visas. But then what Democrats actually DO is create sanctuary cities and states to protect them from deportation. How’s that working out?

Susan I. January 18, 2019 at 5:29 PM

Chicken Little,
Well if there were REAL immigration reform maybe those wouldn’t be needed. While we are at it, why not fine any business not using e-verify? As to Sanctuary Cities, local municipalities and states simply will not assist in detaining undocumented/illegal people. When these individuals are suspected in criminal activity that protection ends. According to San Francisco’s website for example:

“These ordinances were last amended in July 2016. Under current law, City employees may not use City resources to:
-Assist or cooperate with any ICE investigation, detention, or arrest relating to alleged violations of the civil provisions of federal immigration law. (This is a civil matter not a criminal one)
-Ask about immigration status on any application for City benefits, services, or opportunities, except as required by federal or state statute, regulation, or court decision.
-Limit City services or benefits based on immigration status, unless required by federal or state statute or regulation, public assistance criteria, or court decision.
-Provide information about the release status or personal information of any individual, except in limited circumstances when law enforcement may respond to ICE requests for notification about when an individual will be released from custody.
