Atticus, your efforts are always appreciated.
This time I enjoyed the sheep (goose) dogs, kind of like cutting horses.

City of Concord TRAFFIC DIVISION needs to correct the signal timing at Willow Pass and Waterworld pkwy.
Willow pass eastbound is All backed up at 5:30pm because of bad traffic light.

Alert: tomorrow, December 15, is a Spare the Air Day, due to excessive wood burning by households and also bad air coming in from the Central Valley.

Coyote sighting in south PH – 8 pm tonight. At bollards by Isabella Lane and Belle Lane. Looked to be an adolescent, tall legged but scrawny. Lots of cats in neighborhood so assume looking for food.

Concordejet December 15, 2018 at 11:32 AM

Oh wow did not realize there coyote out there. You always wanna keep your cats in the house at night because cats are targets for Coyote. Cats dose not look for food but look for any holes that have Gopher crawling around especially dogs.

Hiker December 14, 2018 at 9:23 PM

Happy Holidays Everyone
Does anyone know what to do about the dead trees in Newhall park along the hiking trail. They look like potential fire hazards.

KAD December 15, 2018 at 12:36 AM

The CNWS also has a lot of dead trees that need to be removed. If the Navy does not do it the city of concord will be paying to do it.

Hiker December 15, 2018 at 11:14 AM

The dead trees have been there along the Newhall hiking trail for about two years (too long). If I had a power saw I would take care of the problem. And probably would be reported and fined. So I will need to research, to find the right city department to contact. The city has created fire breaks along the trail, and left the dead trees to rot.
Today the city of Moraga had a city wide EMERGENCY practice drill for all residents. Concord city officials should step up to insure Concord is more fire ready!

If anyone knows who split all the orange and green paint on left and straight lanes where it crosses with clayton rd. I’d like to know.

ZZ December 15, 2018 at 11:14 AM

MDUSD is implementing the Heros Program in some of their schools. If a teacher sees you doing a good deed like picking up trash or being nice to someone you get points, and you’re considered a HERO. But if you come to school late or forget your books, you’re not a hero and you get points taken away. Student Behavior Modification… Is that what it really is? Look up the Chinese social credit system.

MovingOutOfCA December 15, 2018 at 2:06 PM

We need to implement what the Japanese do in their school’s. They have no janitors. The kids are required to do all the cleaning. This would be good for our children, and perhaps they would be proactive in keeping their school’s clean.

FredvP. December 15, 2018 at 5:23 PM

It’ll never work. Kids having to clean things up would hurt their “feelings” and force them to take responsibility.

It’ll never happen in California.

FatLadySing December 16, 2018 at 9:49 AM

Parents need to teach their children responsibility! Teachers these days get so much blame for EVERYTHING. Teachers and staff are expected to teach academics, social behavior, be the listening ear, make sure they get food, the list goes on and on. PARENTS STEP UP TO THE PALTE AND DO YOUR JOB. Stop blaming teachers for your children’s bad behavior. Teachers can’t do this alone. Parents teach children to pick up after themselves.

How dose a snowman get to work? By icicle

Jojo Potato December 15, 2018 at 12:55 PM

Hopefully there were some safe and convenient icicle lanes for Frosty to use.

Concordejet December 15, 2018 at 5:02 PM

Perhap no flat tire well if the snowman melt than you can call that a flat tire because snowman is just flat tired from by iciclying all day LOL

Rob December 15, 2018 at 3:51 PM

What we need is for Americans to stop whining about illegals and go out to Central Valley and start picking produce.

The Fearless Spectator December 15, 2018 at 6:04 PM

How about that Church Pastor who bought his wife a Lamborghini for an anniversary present. Will that really sit well with parishioners who are asked to fill the collection plate?

Perhaps in his “mega-church” that is just fine. What is a mega-church? Is that sort of like Costco is a Mega-grocery store?

WC Resident December 16, 2018 at 3:01 PM

I read an interview with the guy and he’s a very smooth talker. Many of his supporters/parishioners likely look up to him and want to be like him.

Justifiable Languor December 15, 2018 at 6:48 PM

Dear Rob: This is what our non violent convicts can do. There must be thousands and the hard labor will be good experience for re-orienting back into society.

Original G December 15, 2018 at 7:45 PM

Ron …. FYI automation is on the farm. Majority of crops these days are able to be picked by machine. Guy down in Salinas valley has built a machine to pick Romaine lettuce.

Just a few,

Increased in use on machinery and automation is in part result of progressive liberal politicians deciding decades back to help farm laborers thru burdensome regulations, red tape and legislation.

They put out of work the very people they were trying to help by making them too expensive to employ and making automation cheaper.

ZZ December 16, 2018 at 9:25 AM

So if these machines are being used on farms, this whole “we need illegals to pick our food so farmers can keep food costs down and America NEEDS these people because WE don’t want these jobs” is a lie?

Original G December 16, 2018 at 10:07 AM

Those people are needed for three reasons.
To increase the population so legislative seats are added at state and federal level.
Poor and less educated believing liberal propaganda and campaign promises tend to vote democrat.
Fuels a labor pool that can be exploited by mega wealthy one percent contributors to political campaigns.

ZZ December 16, 2018 at 4:06 PM

Bingo! You got it!

Ancient Mariner December 16, 2018 at 9:34 PM

In Pleasant Hill we’re already at 1/4 of our annual average rainfall (‘mean seasonal precipitation’ to the C.3 geeks out there)

Just Curious December 17, 2018 at 1:08 PM

Has anyone ever received a “Thank You” from a newspaper delivery person for a tip that you’ve sent them? They always put a self-addressed card and envelope in the paper this time of year so you can send them a $$ tip (because if you do it through the newspaper site, the delivery person doesn’t receive all of it). I always put my address, so they know who’s thanking them, but I have yet to ever receive a thank you note of any kind. Not too sure I’ll continue to tip……….

Kentucky Derby December 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM

Yes, I have. Twice. Once in San Diego, and once in the Bay Area. I don’t expect to be thanked from someone I don’t see, but it was appreciated.

Silva December 17, 2018 at 6:38 PM

I am not even going to guess what kind of animal “Girl” (ID#A0926061) is. She was adopted though, so YAY!!

Original G December 17, 2018 at 10:09 PM

Looking at out of focus PIC, from coiled phone handset cord on left …. am guessing is a very young kitten with white paws ? ? ?

Silva December 18, 2018 at 4:16 PM

I thought those tiny white paws looked to be in the wrong position and the face looked long for a cat. Kinda obese guinea pig looking. But you’re probably right.

Silva December 18, 2018 at 9:09 PM

Oh, and it s 14 weeks old. If it s a cat I think it should be bigger. It looks like it could have a kitty nose, but those ears are sure small.

Original G December 18, 2018 at 3:01 PM

While the inventor deserves an atta-boy for going above and beyond in the payback department, I do believe the good citizens of Claycord could go one better.

Cowellian December 19, 2018 at 1:28 PM

Here’s the feel-good story of the day: The Sacramento Bee is reporting that some clown covered part of the license plate of his Mustang in order to avoid paying bridge tolls. The cops pulled him over and impounded the car. We’ll file this under “play stupid games, win stupid prizes!”
Chicken wings receipt over license plates winds up costing man his Mustang, cops say

Silva December 19, 2018 at 8:00 PM

Jojo Potato, you were absolutely correct all along about facebook! But you knew that. I wonder how.. curious.

Jojo Potato December 20, 2018 at 7:29 AM

Aw, shucks. Twarn’t nothing. Just keep in mind that on the internet, you are the product. And you (your data that you so thoughtfully provided to Facebook) is being bought and sold constantly. TANSTAAFL!

Cowellian December 20, 2018 at 10:48 AM

If I ever do go back to work, I want to get a job with TDOT, writing messages for the overhead signs on the highways. I spotted this one this week:

Cousin Eddie Says

Put Down the Phone

Silva December 21, 2018 at 5:30 AM

That sounds like a good fit, Cowellian.🙂 Here’s a photo for that;

Original G December 21, 2018 at 8:49 AM

OK. couldn’t pass up doing a search. An whata ya know there are some talented folks out there. Appears Utah has one or more people who are really good at coming up with sign board sayings.

Cowellian December 21, 2018 at 10:09 AM

I like that, G, but I don’t think I’m ready to move out west again. Silva, your link doesn’t seem to work.

Shasta Daisy December 21, 2018 at 9:04 AM

Happy Winter Solstice.

Peace and be merry.

HappyPappy December 21, 2018 at 10:17 AM

The days are short, live, laugh love, and enjoy every minute. 😉

Cowellian December 21, 2018 at 3:19 PM

Enjoy your Winter Solstice!
Solstice implies the presence of the sun, and around here, it is cool, gray, gloomy, and dark way too early. I’m holding out for Summer Solstice!

Cowellian December 21, 2018 at 5:52 PM

In for last!

KAD December 21, 2018 at 6:46 PM
