The Water Cooler – Are You Done With Christmas Shopping?

December 5, 2018 12:00 pm · 22 comments

The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.

The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.

Today’s question:

Are you all done with Christmas shopping, or do you still have a lot to do? Also, are you mostly buying presents in store or online?

Talk about it.

With the exception of two items that haven’t been delivered yet, I’m done, they’re wrapped, and taken to where they’ll be opened.

Done with Christmas shopping?

LOL

Done? Yes.

Never started.

I’m a strict Festivus.

Future Catlady December 5, 2018 at 1:20 PM

Festivus for the rest of us 🙂

Yep, and today I’m doing all the Christmas cards so I will be mailing them out tomorrow.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Gift shopping is fun, and I Christmas shop all year long. Sooooooo…. but… mmmmm…. now I have to find them wherever I squirreled them away.
(But the miniature M&Ms are underneath the walnuts in the freezer, Alan, so we do not have a crisis!)

Thank you for the giggle 🙂

I pick up gifts whatever time of year I happen to be out and about and see something I like for someone on the list. I like to get the kids gifts done early and hidden well. It can be a struggle to find it all when it’s time to wrap it all up. So they end up getting a better birthday.

Yes… Unless stocking stuffers count, then no….. But Yes!

I shop all year long so yes, all done. Also finished making a few things. Christmas cards still to do though.

Yes and wrapped

UGH! Really haven’t started, and really don’t have worry much.
Neighbors (mailman too) get baked goods and/or bottle of wine.
Most of the family member want lotto scratchers.
A few friends get handmade craft items.
Will start baking next week,…Christmas card this week.

I always have (and always will) do all my Christmas shopping two weeks before Christmas. Christmas shopping is fun, but if I were to do it all year, I would spend way too much money. And two weeks prior is when the spirit really kicks in!

I buy online and at the mall.

The Mamba December 5, 2018 at 2:32 PM

Uh no, I still have a ways to go.

RetailSlave December 5, 2018 at 2:43 PM

I haven’t even started shopping yet!!

Smith December 5, 2018 at 2:58 PM

Haven’t started. Not in the mood, yet.

Done with shopping period. I love the Christmas season except the unnecessary excuse for over consumption and stress. I think it is better to draw names and then be able to pick out something from someone’s wish list, spend a little more for that gift than you normally would do and make everyone much happier. Having to pretend to love a gift that just goes in the junk drawer or in next year’s thrift shop haul is never fun.

Marianne December 5, 2018 at 4:07 PM

I always wait til the last minute to do that extra shopping. Tis the season and brings smiles to my family and me to see the unexpected gifts under the tree. I love Christmas.

Michael Langley December 5, 2018 at 4:07 PM

What? Is it 24 December already!

Mimi (original) December 5, 2018 at 4:19 PM

Almost – just have a couple “fill in” gifts to purchase, then of course, Stocking Stuffers! However I DO HAVE the gifts for the dogs and cats already purchased! LOLOL!

Iluvpopcorn December 5, 2018 at 8:10 PM

I have not begun. I do all on line stuff.

Derb December 6, 2018 at 11:19 AM

Nope!

The Know December 6, 2018 at 2:23 PM

Honestly I’m a few years late. So I’m trying to catch up, this year I haven’t started yet. I should have started shopping a few months ago.
