After decades of democrat control of CA and especially San Francisco what do citizens have to show for it ? ? ? Some of the highest utility, high housing costs and highest fuel costs in the country. Plus large numbers of homeless.

Gavin Newsom was an SF Supervisor from 1997 until 2004 and Mayor of SF from 2004 to 2011.

During run for Mayor in 2004 Newsom this, “In 10 years, he pledged on June 30, 2004, the worst of San Francisco’s homeless problem would be gone.”

An after decades of Democrat control of CA.

“Despite all the wealth in the state and the Democrat control of state government, California actually ranks as the poorest state in the country after costs of living are factored in. A whopping 19 percent of Californians live below the poverty line. While California represents just 12 percent of the nation’s population, Californians represent a third of all Americans on welfare.”

“Accounting for housing costs, California has nation’s highest poverty rate”

Newsom had from 1997 until 2011 to make lasting and positive changes in SF.
OR was he busy taking care of these people ? ? ?
“How eight elite San Francisco families funded Gavin Newsom’s political ascent”

Hopefull November 2, 2018 at 8:00 PM

IThank you for providing this information. I voted early and voted for Cox, Newsom will bankrupt working folks. I hope that everyone else does the same.

Buck November 2, 2018 at 8:02 PM

Mailed my ballot voted for Cox hope there is enough of us smart enough out there to not vote in Newsome for our next Governor.

Randy November 2, 2018 at 8:46 PM

Cox would be useless with the Dem controlled legislature. A wasted vote.

Fred P. November 2, 2018 at 10:36 PM

The California legislature is already useless.

Lance Brittain November 3, 2018 at 7:00 PM

I lived in San Francisco 24 years until I is out priced and moved to Concord in May 2015 and I voted for Gavin Newsome every time. He did a great job for all San Franciscans. He worked tirelessly to make sure everybody was treated as equals: gay, straight, bisexuel, or anywhere on the spectrum; young, mid-life, or senior citizen;
rich, poor, and in between; white, black, and any skin colors in between; and citizen, visitor, or immigrant. He has always fought for human rights and dignity for all.

San Francisco prospered and grew under his leadership. He got things done. He came from money, but he never made you feel beneath him or that he was superior. He was very personable and approachable.

He will be good for California. He is big on the environment which Our state leads the country with environment
l issues. Regulations have come about through blood, sweat, and tears of the American worker and deaths as well to make our employees safe on the job and to keep our skies, air, land, water, and our environment clean, usable, safe. Climate change is REAL and Gavin will will fight hard on these issue where Republicans want to to dismantle most all regulations it seems which would kill wildlife, plants, humans, and many other other things.

The Homeless issue will never be won, but we can decrease the number of homeless individual and families as well as create better solutions for an easier and better process/pathway to services for housing, shelter, food, training, health, etc…ending with more housing available and built, be it transitional, rent, or to own. As Americans, we need to change our views on the issue as well as how we look at those who are homeless. Many have mental illnesses so we write them off. Americans look at those affected by mental illness amd homelessness as less than, broken, and undesirable. It has to start with us as individuals and Gavin will do just that.

Gavin also works with business and industry , but he will not be on the side of business if it impairs, in any way, human rights or if it will hurt the workers, the public, our state, our country. Lastly, he will not give in to repealing the gas tax which Californians voted in favor of in 2016 to fix our roads and all. Republicans thought if we can get a a gas tax repeal on the ballott, then our Right-leaning voters will come in droves to vote and the money cam go back to bog business amd who cares of we have dangerous roadways on ill repair. Gavin will be on the side of the voters and not against them which it seems the Right does a lot.) A majority of Californians were against the repeal, but the Right went ahead anyway.

Gavin will be fair and work for all Californians. I have seen him be on the opposing side of the Left on issues, laws, regulations, etc.. siding with moderates on all sides and the Right. Gavin is fair and he loves this State and will not do anything to harm it or us. Gavin For Governor.

Please note that I am an HIV-positive Moderate Gay Democrat who believes in social issues and justice, human and equal rights, sensible gun laws, the idea that the national and state governments should help and protect its citizens; that some laws on singular issues should be the same nationally and not vary state to state; I side with moderate to right Republicans on quite a few issues such as the death penalty and some business issues.

Smith November 3, 2018 at 11:40 PM

Vote for Cox. Gavin Newsom will set the headstone at the grave Brown has dug for California these past eight years.

Tsa November 2, 2018 at 7:16 PM

Vote and keep California dysfunctional !!!

Bad Nombre November 2, 2018 at 8:51 PM

Vote! … early and often.

Change November 3, 2018 at 12:30 AM

Cox is a joke! NEWSOM ALL DAY!

Fred P. November 3, 2018 at 8:48 AM

So you’re for an alcoholic that screws his friends wife?

Then did nithing while mayor of SF and lieutenant governor of CA.

Typical of liberals.

Smith November 3, 2018 at 3:15 PM

Of course, liberals give extra points for philandering, and if it’s your best friend’s wife you get double extra. Liberals think this is a measure of your cool and if you cheat while actually in office, it qualifies you to seek even higher office. Go on … give it to Newsom … he earned it! Liberal logic.

JWB November 3, 2018 at 4:38 PM

… of course I knew I need to explain this to slow reading group here.

I would think that “philandering” as Smith calls it is probably not the smartest argument against a politian coming from a Trump supporter, given the fact that we know he cheated on every one of his three wifes.

And foothillsguy you must not know what logic means, because even a true statement may not be smart, such as in this very example which would simply expose you as a hypocrite.

Elwood November 3, 2018 at 6:09 PM

Here are the duties of the light governor:

In the morning when he wakes up he calls the governor.

If the governor answers he hangs up and goes back to bed.

Newsom is the greatest light governor we’ve ever had!

Smith November 4, 2018 at 12:06 AM

@JWB As usual, liberals make no distinction between when the cheating occurred. The point I made is that liberals cheat while in office. Trump has not.

One of Newsom’s paramour was given leave not normally extended to public employees at taxpayer expense. Newsom is so low he cheats with a friend’s wife. If he’ll do that with to a friend, one hates to think what he’ll do with an enemy. The man is a moral cripple.

Willi Brown, Gavin Newsom, Ed Lee. Three liberal-minded Mayors back-to-back, and look what it got San Francisco: hoards of homeless camped in parks and on city streets relieving themselves in public, mental illness made painfully visible, opiot addiction with the attendant detritus scattered far and wide endangering all, filth everywhere as a matter of fact, insufficient and inadequate social services, auto breakins soaring with less than two percent prosecution, etc., and so on. Three liberal Mayors who ignored the city’s problems.

San Francisco is now considered the filthiest city on the planet. Gavin Newsom had a chance to shine in San Francisco, and he didn’t. I was born there and the city has been made an embarassment by three liberal Mayors in sucession. Who in their right mind would allow him the opportunity to do the same to the entire state?

JWB November 4, 2018 at 8:26 AM

@ Smith if you actually Google for the Mercer Quality of Living Ranking for 2018 you will be suprised to find that the highest ranked city in the US is San Francisco (on place 30), followed by Boston (35), Honolulu (36), Seattle (44) and New York (45).

Maybe you should turn off your right wing propganda and start thinking for yourself?

Silva November 4, 2018 at 9:24 AM

“…liberals make no distinction between when the cheating occurred.” Because where the cheating occurs makes ALL the difference!! Hilarious. But I do find it a comfort to know you have the low down on where Trump will cheat and where he won’t, Smith.

Fred P. November 5, 2018 at 1:39 PM

Jwb says to “start thinking for yourself?”

You might to want to start by looking in the mirror. You’re no different than 80% of the voters that vote strictly by party line.

Fred P. November 5, 2018 at 1:42 PM

Jwb, you have yet to demonstrate any knowledge about logic.

Change November 3, 2018 at 12:31 AM

Nunya November 3, 2018 at 3:13 AM

the Democrats do nothing but raise taxes for the failed social programs. VLF, gas tax, all for cell phones for the homeless, save the smelt, bullet train to nowhere, etc. heck if you live in Florida this is your Democrat:

Remember: Rush is right!

Ricardoh November 3, 2018 at 9:53 AM

Why anyone would vote for a democrat is beyond reason.

Cautiously Informed November 3, 2018 at 3:13 PM

Voteing for Democrats is very reasonable – for criminals, illegal aliens, welfare deadbeats, snowflakes who have been coddled their whole lives, and the like.

Jim R November 3, 2018 at 10:06 AM

It is embarrassing that America voted (although it was a minority) to elect a President that couldn’t pass a high school civics course.

A President that doesn’t understand the difference between an Amendment to the US Constitution and an Executive Order.

A President that doesn’t understand that a tax cut must follow the regular path through the legislative branch before it can become law.

A President that believes campaigning for reelection (although it is probable that he has started campaigning because any funds raised for reelection can be used for legal fees) is more important than governing.

Rollo Tomasi November 3, 2018 at 12:35 PM

C’mon- give Obama a break for once.

Nunya November 3, 2018 at 1:41 PM

But Hussein was a Constitutional expert wasn’t he, so must have understood the deference between an EO and the USC, right? Or is that racist for me say?

Jim R. November 4, 2018 at 2:51 PM

Nunya, not sure what the USC is but President Obama did understand that his authority was limited. The Deferred Action Childhood Arrival was constitutuional because no court said it wasn’t. You might remember that the Republican controlled Congress believed that deficits were bad during President Obama’s terms and government spending was being cut. President Obama simply said that as the head of the Executive branch, he was not going to spend their resources on deporting people brought to America by others. America does not crimiminalize children for the criminal acts of their parents.

Rollo Tomasi November 6, 2018 at 8:57 AM

If you don’t know what the USC is, perhaps you should refrain from voting. The ignorance of the California electorate is staggering.

Tsa November 3, 2018 at 12:40 PM

The ONLY solution for your safety and well being is to get the heck out of California, it is doomed!!! The wheels are already in motion to leave.

Nature Lover,so much fun listening to all those leftist liberal socialist Democrat whiners.

Fred P. November 3, 2018 at 6:59 PM

@nature, you can listen to all of the whining you want from anywhere. The point is, you libs are infatuated with raising taxes and not holding the dem politicians accountable for any financial dealings…, but instead prefer to pass fel good, do-nothing laws that don’t do one damn thing…. except get themselves elected by know nothing democrats who are willing to let the financially irresponsible politicians run California into bankruptcy,.

That’s why so many people moved out of state – and took our $$$$$$ with us.

Captain Bebops November 4, 2018 at 12:38 PM

Hey Buck, what countries are “communist”. ‘Communism is an interesting idea that has never been tried.” North Korea is a family business. Stalin was a mafia. There have been some vague attempts at socialism flummoxed by the rich with the aid of the CIA because American corporations wanted easy access to that countries resources and in some cases by the college profs who went a bit more extreme with the idea than what the citizens of the country wanted.

Communism itself probably can’t work well. Just ask anyone who was in a commune in the late 1960s or 70s. Most get tired of “sharing everything”. And that’s not socialism which is taking care of the commons and can be very transcendent.

Most here who defend capitalism have never participated in it. Some of us have. It’s a bad system which is inherently unstable and unsustainable. When you take a company public you stop being concerned about your customers and more concerned about the stockholders. Not a good thing. We can do better.

HappyPappy November 3, 2018 at 1:57 PM

As the midterms get closer the rabid jackals of the left have gone full out chaotic frenzy in fear. You can see it everywhere, right here too.
Hate, blame, accuse, deny, lie, cheat…….all the things they’re known for.
It’s enough to make sane people vote Republican.

And don’t forget her support and getting the city to pay for the scandals at the RCA that involved Scott Dennison. Mr. Dennison is still the boss at the theater despite costing the city several million for settlement payments. And by the way Cindy is responsible for the slowly failing Heather Farm swim center who is now backing another $700,000 consulting contract to see what should be done. Look it up.

Such a shining example of liberal though process, keep posting.

Do liberals admire one of their politicians who according to press reports had relations with his campaign managers wife, blamed alcohol, who this year is miraculously able to drink alcohol in moderation. Could it be self delusion ????

Democrats should have fielded a more qualified candidate, one with far less questionable baggage. Citizens of California deserve better.

But the one percent mega wealthy have way too much money invested in him.

More evidence of the “tolerant” left….

A Gillum intern was arrested for throwing milk at College Republicans
Shelby Shoup was arrested and charged with battery after going on a profanity-laced tirade, throwing chocolate milk on Florida State University College Republicans, and kicking over the sign of Republican Florida gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis. She is listed as an intern for Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate and Tallahassee mayor, Andrew Gillum, on LinkedIn.

forsythe November 4, 2018 at 6:56 AM

For those of you who choose to trash Rush Limbaugh, consider this. For years, he has had the highest-rated American talk radio program.

WHY? He exposes the tactics of the left with irony and humor. For example, in September, when the left wing media (CNN, MSNBC, etc.) tried to derail the Justice Kavanaugh appointment, he had this to say:

The left wing media now has to walk back their narratives. Here is today’s Huffington Post:

Senate Judiciary Concludes No Evidence Supports Kavanaugh Misconduct Accusations

“Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, Michael Avenatti and Julie Swetnick could not immediately be reached for comment.”

Randy November 4, 2018 at 1:43 PM

Is he still hooked on drugs?

Fred P. November 5, 2018 at 1:41 PM

Obviously Newsom still has a drug/alcohol issue.

Original G November 4, 2018 at 9:02 AM

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Dr. Jellyfinger November 4, 2018 at 11:58 AM

Where does it say that in the Constitution?

Rollo Tomasi November 6, 2018 at 9:04 AM

That hasn’t applied since the country forgot the Judeo-Christian values upon which it was founded.

Original G November 4, 2018 at 9:35 AM

Came across this an thought it worth sharing. Liberal press intentionally neglects to mention metrics involved in tariffs being imposed to level the playing field for American workers. An unlike three past Presidential disappointments President Trump actually does care about American workers.
Largest economy wins.

Change November 4, 2018 at 2:40 PM

Rush Limbaugh also got fired from the NFL for racist comments. Keep on supporting him and look in the mirror

Justifiable anger November 4, 2018 at 4:15 PM

Rush made a racist remark? Odd, I have never heard him disparage a race. What did he say?

Jim R November 4, 2018 at 3:06 PM

Remember when the Republican Party cared about deficits and the national debt? When they wouldn’t do anything in Congress to help the President address real national issues because it cost too much.

Now we get to listen about how great the economy is doing. It has improved for almost a decade, and the last couple of years it has improved faster. The national debt has also increased $1.6 trillion. Even I could grow the economy over a year if I get $1.6 trillion to spend.

Atticus Thraxx November 4, 2018 at 4:47 PM
Gargoyle November 4, 2018 at 5:15 PM

Capitalism may not be pretty but it has given the most wealth and power to common people than any other system, by far. As a student of history I know it was not long ago that anybody without wealth was considered a 2nd class citizen, which enabled a caste system with 3rd and 4th class people. One could be any race to be in any class but once established or born into a class it was near impossible to change. Mostly people accepted their station and understood the lower classes would be abused by the higher. Life was cheap.
This situation remained true until thirteen American colonies decided they didn’t have any ‘betters’. So they created a republic wherein each person has sovereign rights. As in the example of two wolves and a lamb voting on a lunch menu, the lamb can say ‘forget you, I’m outt’a here’. While our democratic voting system is basically who has the most wolves.
Republicans have a plan to enhance our economy, safety and health care, and will diminish our debt. The democrats will do the opposite.Dems wrecked health care with ‘You have to vote to see what’s in it’ ‘You can keep your doctor and save $2,500’ Dems proved themselves loathsome by their Kavanaugh antics.
In CA dems can’t build anything right, the bay bridge, the train and now a main transit hub in SF. Aside from neglecting our infrastructures, dams, roads, forests, schools, etc; all well funded and failing. Vote for reps and say no to giving the dem scoundrels that run CA anymore money. Yes on 6.

Not a Trump Fan November 4, 2018 at 5:44 PM

I heard something today that sums up why so many people think Trump is bad for America. I am not a “flaming liberal” or a “right-wing conservative.” Up until recently, I was a registered Rep and have voted for Reps and Dems in the past because I happen to believe that the best person for the job should win. With that said, here it is:

If your child is an A/B student and does his/her chores but makes Meth to sell in his/her spare time, would that be okay with you? Does good achievement and behavior cancel out bad?

Well that’s Trump in a nutshell. The economy is still good, he’s gotten two conservative judges confirmed but he is a pathological liar, who has no concept of morality, humanity, global affairs and respect (or understanding) of the Constitution and its’ 3 co-equal branches of government. If he just stuck to the truth most of the time, he might get some support from more than mostly white men, Fox News and Alt-right groups. His rallies are getting whiter and whiter and falser and falser. And there is no denying that the divisive rhetoric he spews is having an effect on the mentally unstable. And still, the Reps are mostly silent or joining in. The Leader of the free world needs to be better! And say what you want about Obama, but he didn’t lie, cheat or have any of his cabinet or friends indicted/or jailed. He showed his tax returns like all of the modern presidents before him. The only thing you ever hear from supporters/Fox News/Whitehouse about Obama “Lying” is “if you want to keep your doctor under the ACA, you can keep your doctor.” And while this may not have turned out to be true for many, it was due to unforeseen changes in insurance carriers; not a calculated untruth like Trump tells every day, over and over. That’s all they got. That’s their spin every time they are asked about Trump’s lies. Or they just ignore the question and pivot to the unemployment rate or the economy (both of which were good when Trump took office), unlike Obama who had to turn around the worst recession since the great depression era.

I really don’t understand why Trump’s supporters hate Obama so much. Under Obama’s administration, my house value doubled, I recouped all of the losses and actually grew my 401K due to 148% stock market growth, I lowered my mortgage payment because interest rates were lower, and I didn’t have to fact check him on a daily basis to see what was true and what wasn’t. Obama created just as many jobs in the last 21 months of his administration as Trump has created in the first 21 months of his, and he didn’t admire or love murderous dictators or piss off most of our closest Allies.

I know this isn’t going to change any of Trumps hard core supporters’ minds but hopefully some of the others of you will think about this. I wouldn’t accept Trumps behavior from my child, my spouse/partner, my friends, my attorney, my doctor, my family or any other person around me. How sad is it that 40% of you think it’s okay for the President of the United States to act like that?

HappyPappy November 4, 2018 at 10:59 PM

Here’s a summary of that long drawn out repetitive version of the same old B.S. the left has been spewing since the election;

actually, hp provided an excellent summary of the liberals accomplishments and expertise. Looking back, though, I think he really overstated it by about 10 “blahs”…

And none of the liberals are taking to task the liars that “came forth” making false claims against Kavanaugh. Time to kick all democrats to the curb.

HappyPappy November 5, 2018 at 4:39 PM

That’s just how they roll, those fringe lefties. C’mon buddy, let’s see your proof. Come out of your closet.

“If your child is an A/B student and does his/her chores but makes Meth to sell in his/her spare time, would that be okay with you? Does good achievement and behavior cancel out bad?”

Well, making and selling meth is illegal, so if you won’t or can’t say specifically how Trump has broken the law, your analogy fails spectacularly. To answer the question, no – I would turn my child in to law enforcement so that the rule of law could prevail. Same deal with Trump. PROVE lawlessness, or Thraxx’s favorite – treason – and I’ll stand arm in arm with you calling for his ouster. Until then, keep tilting at windmills.

Tired of “you can keep your doctor”? Try on “the individual mandate is not a tax” or his perpetuation of the lie that the attack in Benghazi was a reaction to an anti-Islam internet video. You know – lies that are actually material in substance and gravely affected the lives of citizens, rather than statements that most of the time amount to the exaggerations of an arrogant blowhard.

Remember when Obama’s Attorney General was held in contempt of Congress for an act that had a direct effect on national security? That was classic.

Anywho, I’ll leave it to others to refute the other claims you made in the refuse heap you left here disguised as a comment. I’m out of time. I need to go vote for the things that are best for this community, state and nation. I suggest you do the same.

I think it is dangerous because it threatens to vest power in the hands of second-rate men whose only qualification is their ability to pander to other men’s fears. Oops. Replied to the wrong comment. However, my statement stands on it’s own.

Smith November 6, 2018 at 6:23 PM

“I interpenetrated it …” How exactly do you “interpenetrated” … it? That’s a new one on me.

Silva November 7, 2018 at 6:25 AM

I think I need new glasses.🤓

Jim R November 7, 2018 at 5:31 PM

Rollo, if immigration enforcement is not racist, why aren’t we seeing ICE agents taking children from Visa overstays? People that have the means to come tour country legally and not leave. They are violating the same laws that poor people walking to our country would violate if they didn’t take the legal route of asking for asylum that is still available to them. Take away birthright citizenship? I guess maybe you think the President wants to protect us from the European babies that are born here.

Rollo Tomasi November 8, 2018 at 4:27 PM

Jim R incorrect. Visa overstays are a violation of U.S.C.1546. Illegal entry is a violation of U.S.C.1325. Separate laws, different penalties. Don’t let any facts get in the way of your emotions.

Visa overstayers are inherently difficult to find. One problem at a time. Illegal entry is a violation of our national sovereignty, overstays are the same thing although delayed. Stop illegal entries and we’ll have more time and resources to deal with overstays. By the way, in August the Trump administration deported a 95 year old Nazi war criminal who had been stripped of his US citizenship and ordered deported in 2003. As white as can be.

If I commit a crime, law enforcement is going to separate me from my children and detain me. My wife too if she’s an accomplice. Whose fault is that?

Read the first sentence of the 14th Amendment, which includes the jurisdiction clause, then read the remarks of Sen. Jacob Howard, one of the authors of the law. Birthright citizenship isn’t quite so clear as I once thought it was.

Original G November 5, 2018 at 7:28 PM

In case you are still operating under the assumption democrats are competent enough to run CA,

“Officials say Oroville Dam spillway WILL be ready for winter – but the $300m cost has spiraled to $1.1BILLION”

jtkatec November 6, 2018 at 10:00 AM

But won’t that cost increase be due to hiring the lowest bidder (which is mandated, but never makes sense to me, as you get what you pay off), and then there’s all those change orders?

I don’t think one can blame it on a political party, but the government regulations in general.

Forsythe November 6, 2018 at 6:51 AM

If the Republicans win the house, the stock market will go up again. Why? More tax cuts, more deregulation, more jobs.

If the Democrats win the house, the stock market will go down. Maxine Waters will be the next head of the Financial Services Committee. Hers goals? Impeach Trump, create angry mobs, and punish businesses. The Democrat leadership at the moment has gone rogue and radical.

Randy November 6, 2018 at 7:17 AM

The republicans bring more deficits more borrowing and put us more at the mercy of foreign governments.

HappyPappy November 6, 2018 at 1:58 PM

That’s very interesting. Randy. I’d like to know more, would you mind posting your sources.

Randy November 6, 2018 at 7:41 AM

Oh boy

Trump told the Times that health insurance costs about $1 per month when you’re young. “Because you are basically saying from the moment the insurance, you’re 21 years old, you start working and you’re paying $12 a year for insurance, and by the time you’re 70, you get a nice plan,” he said.

HappyPappy November 6, 2018 at 8:24 AM

Considering number of bond issues that will pass today can only wonder how many voters bothered to become informed before voting to burden themselves, their children and their children in debt to pay off 40 year bonds.

For instance how many of you knew state of CA already has, according to CA Treasure’s office, $32.7 billion in unissued bonds.

Prop 4 as random example is for $1.5 billion in general obligation bonds.
“The state’s legislative analyst estimated that interest on the bond would be $1.4 billion over 35 years, bringing the total cost of the bond to $2.9 billion.”,_Children%27s_Hospital_Bonds_Initiative_(2018)#cite_note-debt-3

Another example “Proposition 3 would issue $8.877 billion in general obligation bonds for water-related infrastructure and environmental projects.[1] The state fiscal analyst said the bond would generate about $8.4 billion in interest over a 40-year period, meaning the bond would cost the state a total of $17.3 billion.”,_Water_Infrastructure_and_Watershed_Conservation_Bond_Initiative_(2018)

Low information voters, their children and their children get what they vote for debt and socialism.

Rollo Tomasi November 7, 2018 at 9:31 AM

The blue wave turned to a blue trickle. It has become commonplace for a sitting president to suffer losses in the first midterm election. By contrast, in Obama’s first midterm in 2010, Republicans gained 63 seats in the House and flipped the majority. Republicans gained 6 Senate seats, expanding their existing majority. Not to mention crushing defeats in state gubernatorial and congressional races. Turns out the irrational and rabid hate of President Trump didn’t quite translate to independent voters.

Atticus Thraxx November 7, 2018 at 11:55 AM

I disagree with your attempt at a positive assessment Rollo. While Red Team won two more Senate seats, they lost twenty three House seats and seven Governor seats. I suspect Trump will no longer be able to hide his tax returns as well. Who knows what damage that will do. Add that to Muller’s investigation on the verge of being released…does not bode well. Though I am sure Blue Team will shoot themselves in the foot somehow. Red Team can’t call this a win no matter how you try and slice it.

Elwood November 7, 2018 at 1:49 PM

Blue wave? Blue ripple.

In 24 of the last 27 midterm elections the party out of power has taken the House.

The dimmiecrats razor thin majority in the House is hardly an earth-shaking historical event.

Jim R November 7, 2018 at 5:37 PM

Elwood, you’re going to need more than your word on that claim.

Elwood November 7, 2018 at 11:49 PM

@Jim R

Here’s another accounting you might prefer:

Rollo Tomasi November 8, 2018 at 8:45 AM

“I suspect Trump will no longer be able to hide his tax returns as well. Who knows what damage that will do. Add that to Muller’s investigation on the verge of being released…does not bode welL”

Two gigantic unknowns Atticus. Unlike Blue team, I still believe in due process and the presumption of innocence – two pillars of our society that are far more important than any politician or policy. So based on what we KNOW and relative to the first midterms of presidents going back to 1934, particularly unpopular presidents, I stand by my positive assessment.

Atticus Thraxx November 8, 2018 at 9:28 AM

Fair enough Rollo. But I would echo an oft uttered mantra from the Right, if he has nothing to hide, why is he trying so hard to hide it? If he’s clean he should welcome the scrutiny both in his dealing with the Russians, and releasing his taxes. But I suspect those two are closely linked. And both leave him vulnerable. We’ll see.

Rollo Tomasi November 8, 2018 at 12:20 PM

Yes, we’ll see. All the while the left will be actively rooting for something to be found, and if nothing is found, they’ll claim whatever investigation took place was a sham. Don’t deny it – we’ve seen it in the last month.

HappyPappy November 7, 2018 at 11:53 AM

Voter fraud exposed;

Well lookie here, A Project Veritas’ covert journalist, acting as the girlfriend of a potential DACA voter, stopped by a polling station in Travis County, Texas to ask election officials if it was okay for the guy to vote.

“If he got his ID that’s all he needs. If he registered,” an election worker told the journalist.

“Right. It doesn’t matter that he’s not a citizen?” the journalist replied, adding that she heard on the internet that he could not vote.

“No, Don’t pay no attention to that. Bring him on up here,” the official said.

Another woman, who appeared to be an election official, said that there was not an issue with DACA recipients voting, saying, “we got a lot of ’em.”

“You’ve got a lot of them?” the journalist asked.

“Mmhmm,” the woman replied. “From early voter. We’ve got tons of them. Tons of DACA voters. Okay.”

In a frenzied move to cover up, officials say they are looking into prosecuting the journalist for illegally recording near a polling place. How else could criminal acts like this ever be exposed? any Clearly fraud voting claims were hardly a matter of concern to them.

Jim R November 7, 2018 at 5:41 PM

Pappy, there is no voter fraud if no votes were cast. Nice story, don’t see the crime other than recording in the polling place. Calling Project Veritas journalists is like calling a cat a dog.

HappyPappy November 8, 2018 at 8:52 AM

Do you have proof no illegal votes were cast? Thanks for the response Jim, how many illegal votes do you believe are acceptable.

Atticus Thraxx November 8, 2018 at 9:34 AM

Prove a negative? That’s where we’re at? When it is claimed or implied that, because a premise cannot be proven false, the premise must be true, or that, because a premise cannot be proven true, the premise must be false. That’s what’s called a negative proof fallacy. So I state to you I’m surrounded by an invisible, undetectable force field that protects me from mind readers. Since you can’t prove I’m not, it’s true.

JWB November 8, 2018 at 9:35 AM

Pappy, I thought you believed in the rule of law? Now you think somebody needs to have proof that no crime was committed?

Thanks for your response Pappy, how many citizens having denied their right to vote do you believe are acceptable?

HappyPappy November 8, 2018 at 11:46 AM

Aw gee-whiz, thanks for piling on in that good ol’ liberal way, but you nice folks seem to have missed my point.
The officials running that polling station had no problem allowing illegal voting. Annnnnnd, the Project Veritas’ covert journalist has video proof.
Now what do you believe should be done about that?

Rollo Tomasi November 8, 2018 at 12:23 PM

“Now you think somebody needs to have proof that no crime was committed”

Give him a break. He learned it from the Dems on the Judiciary Committee.

JWB November 8, 2018 at 1:20 PM

Oh Pappy Pappy

There is no illegal voting when according to your own words “If he got his ID that’s all he needs. If he registered,” it is really not up to a poll worker to change the voter rolls based on what a girlfriend of a voter may or may not say.

Now if believe that Texas registers non-citizens on their voter rolls how would voter ID (what you say is needed) fix it?

Randy November 7, 2018 at 12:22 PM

The beginning of the end of the Republican Party.

Things are changing two Native American women were elected to Congress. In fact an amazing number of woman were elected to Congress. We nearly had a black woman elected as governor of Georgia and a black man elected as governor of Florida. Now I see a gay Jewish guy elected as governor of Colorado

Elwood November 7, 2018 at 1:34 PM

“We nearly had”

Nearly doesn’t count except in horseshoes.

Jim R November 7, 2018 at 5:50 PM

Randy, not sure that things really are changing. The SCOTUS just disenfranchised 100’s of N Dakota native Americans because they don’t use street addresses. Apparently, the US will never get tired of screwing First Peoples.

JWB November 7, 2018 at 12:24 PM, so you really think an election worker should conduct a investigation at a polling place into the citizenship of a registered voter?

Elwood November 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM

It’ll be a long tough slog between subpoenas and actually receiving any records.

If the dimmiecrats have any sense (a dubious proposition at best) they will concentrate on a legislative agenda rather than subpoenas and witch hunt hearings with torches and pitchforks.

That microphone belongs to the White House. When he wards her off as she reaches for it, it’s a bad move by the activist Acosta.

The Dems on the judiciary committee should demand a hearing. At least this time there’s some evidence.

If you have any morals these days, you are uner attack from liberals who don’t, and, unfortunately, some of them are in government and mainstream media. With a modicum of power, they do damage to those who disagree with them, or those who are perceived to be in liberal’s way.
