I’d have to say either Match Game (the original) or Hollywood Squares.

Kentucky Derby September 19, 2018 at 12:30 PM

Let’s Make a Deal. As a kid, I thought the show was priceless. Bizarre costumes, people scrounging through their purse for a paper-clip ($50) and contestants getting zonked. It was cool when they actually won the “big deal.” I went with door number one…

Great show, and I always think of “door number 3” when anyone mentions the 2016 presidential elections 😀.

Recall 'Em All September 19, 2018 at 12:32 PM

Celebrity Squares

Dawg September 19, 2018 at 12:44 PM

You Bet Your Life, with Groucho Marx is my first choice. My second choice would be Hollywood Squares when Paul Lynde was on.

Dorothy September 19, 2018 at 4:03 PM

Agree with both and in the same order. Original What’s My Line would be my 3rd.

Jeopardy, watched it with my mom when I was growing up Art Fleming was the host and I thought my mom was so smart she knew so many answers. So my son and I watched it when he was young but I had to let him try to answer first, now he has to give me a chance to answer first lol.

The Mamba September 19, 2018 at 12:52 PM

Jeopardy, you can actually learn something.

Lo September 19, 2018 at 1:05 PM

Jeopardy!, Supermarket Sweep and Legends of the Hidden Temple.

Double Dare and the original Who Wants To Be A Millionaire are up there too.

Barge September 19, 2018 at 1:14 PM

Jeopardy, record every night and skip through the 10 minutes of ads.

Make me Laugh was on Showtime in the early `80s, and featured a lot of young comics like Gallagher and Denny Johnson. They did make me laugh.

But I also loved the Gong Show.

frambley1 September 19, 2018 at 3:22 PM

Denny Johnston was funny.

Ms. Mom September 19, 2018 at 1:20 PM

Jeopardy! grew up watching it with Mom, my son grew up watching it too!. Sometimes the 3 of use watch it together.

What is Jeopardy.

When I was a kid I liked to watch Wheel of Fortune, the winner of each round had to spend their money on (outrageously priced) prizes that were in the studio.

I don’t remember spending any time watching game shows on TV, especially during prime time. I do remember a radio show called People Are Funny, emceed by Art Linkletter. Contestants were sent out to accomplish funny tasks, and report back. For example it was commonly believed that a bank would cash a check written on anything. The contestant was given a check written on a watermelon and sent out to find a bank that would cash it (he did).

Truth or Consequences ……………………..

squirrel September 19, 2018 at 8:11 PM

Gong Show followed closely by Richard Dawson hosting Family Feud.

TPC September 19, 2018 at 8:39 PM

Match Game in the mid ’70s with Gene Rayburn. Good stuff.

Whoe Jim September 19, 2018 at 10:22 PM

The newlywed game was awkward but extremely funny at times with the contestants answers to some very intrusive questions. One was… where was the strangest place you made love? Bob Eubanks was the MC …
Remember that one……….

Arthur September 19, 2018 at 10:38 PM

Jeopardy.

I’ve enjoyed a lot of others over the years too, but I’d like to give a special mention to ‘Sale of the Century.’

Publius September 19, 2018 at 11:25 PM

Jeopardy …………but they should let the people keep the money they win rather than just doling out $2000 for second and $1000 for third. El Cheapo

“So You Want to be a Millionaire”
I like the graduated difficulty levels, there being one contestant at a time competing, and the types of life lines. Also I like the “thinking time” they give (during which I shout my choice of answers at the contestant).
But I do not have time to watch very often.

Silva September 20, 2018 at 7:08 AM

I forgot about that one!

AnonZ September 20, 2018 at 4:41 AM

$100,000 Pyramid & Family Feud.

CampDakota September 20, 2018 at 8:26 AM

The Price is Right. Also Family Feud but Steve Harvey has taken it to a whole new level with his raunchy humor. He needs to get over himself – Keep it for the road buddy. I used to like him.

Winner! September 20, 2018 at 9:49 AM

Love Family Feud, but only the old ones with Richard Dawson! Steve Harvey is SO full of himself that he ruins the show…it’s NOT about YOU Steve!!
Also love the old Match game, and Password Plus.
A new one is “America Says”. Enjoy it too!!

Life, Liberty and Property September 20, 2018 at 9:54 AM

Battle Royale

Lizzie62 September 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM

I too loved the original Family Feuds. Steve Harvey has turned it into an xrated show and he is not even funny anymore. I am 54 and as a child I loved watching Match Game and Let’s Make A Deal.
