Shook good in Martinez.

We felt it up here in the pleasant hills of Pleasant Hill. Two brief shakes with just a wee bit of rattling. The cats crouched, the dog looked a bit puzzled. My wife slapped on her tennies and beat it for higher ground. And then came right back to check the USGS site.

Didnt feel a thing. I have a pet bird and she was relaxing with one foot tucked under her wing dozing off. Or maybe it was when I thought my neighbor was home upstairs and it was the quake after all.

One big thump and then a little wall creaking.

KAD September 1, 2018 at 6:49 PM

No. We always hear and feel the small ones from the Hayward fault.

Folks, LOCATION too, please…that would so much more helpful.

At DVC, felt one jolt.

Two quick jolts about 5 seconds apart. Not very strong but strong enough to make me question whether we were having an earthquake or if someone had just dropped something heavy in the house. North Concord, near the drive-in.

Housemate and I were out in the driveway, He felt it, I didn’t as I was just getting in my car . We both heard the house creak. This was in Martinez.

Nothing at all here. Southern Walnut Creek.

Dawg September 1, 2018 at 10:41 PM

Not sure. I felt a slight movement and thought to myself, “was that an earthquake?” I don’t remember the time so I’m not sure if it was at 5:27. One thing is for sure, the cat doesn’t even flinch. She’s usually asleep at that time and the only thing that would disturb her slumber is food.

Yes in Pleasant Hill. Also you can go on th USGS website and mark that you felt it.

Thank you, Cindy. i’ll look for that spot where you can mark you felt the quake.

Moon Dog September 2, 2018 at 11:19 PM

Nope , not in Walnut Creek

I was in Martinez at my home. Yep, it was 5:27 p.m. and I definitely had a pre-cursor. My cat Timmy was at my feet at the time & I had been watching the news. All of the sudden, Timmy jumped straight up with all 4 paws going up at the same time – as if he had been standing on hot coals. Less than a second later, I felt a small jolt, a small rumble & a second small jolt. The house made a little noise, too. When I checked USGS immediately afterwards, the quaked popped up on the screen about 10 second later.
