Another school year and no crossing guards for the elementary schools that reside in the city of Concord. All of the other Mt Diablo Unified School District’s Elementary Schools have them but not the elementary schools that are in Concord.

The Concord City Council believes the schools have plenty of volunteers that can do this but does your school have them? Do they have enough?

All other cities within MDSUD are outsourcing to 3rd party companies that specialize in crossing guard services to make sure their children get to school safely.

Why does the City of Concord keep paying for radio advertisement of how great Concord is to raise a family but will not do what other cities are doing and provide this basic safety program for its children.

Original G August 21, 2018 at 6:36 PM

Hopefully Highlands crossing guard is being obeyed by the kids.
There was one a few years back, kids totally ignored and crossed anytime they wanted resulting in traffic back ups back well past Pine Hollow school East property line.

Atticus Thraxx August 17, 2018 at 8:22 PM

Valid concern, wrong thread.

Change August 18, 2018 at 10:23 AM

Another “winning’ week. Dump trump!

TT August 18, 2018 at 4:53 PM

The lack of proper vetting under the Obama administration allowed an ISIS terrorist to live in Sacramento. When will national security be the biggest concern for Americans?

Matt August 18, 2018 at 6:52 PM

Since I am more likely to be killed by a lightning strike than a terrorist, it’s not a priority for me beyond what the government is currently doing.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 18, 2018 at 8:06 PM

I dare you to go into any bar in New York City and say that in a loud, clear voice.

Randy August 18, 2018 at 8:10 PM

Seems like trumps polocies would have been more effect in finding him before this. How many others can’t trump find?

Elwood August 18, 2018 at 11:07 PM

Randy, you can’t possibly be such a fool as you appear here.

Do you really believe Trump should be out playing hide and seek with terrorists?

It’s good to see that you and your fellow travelers adhere to your core philosophy though.

Randy August 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM

42 years ago today newspapers headline read:

Nixon Blasts False Charges
Asks Public to End Obsession Get Back to Nations Busy

Now does this sound familiar or what ? Back in those days the Republicans had integrity and morals. Today’s GOP are complicit and lost their soul for power and greed.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 18, 2018 at 8:03 PM

AlwaysBePositive August 19, 2018 at 10:43 AM

djt’s legal strategy as enunciated by his personal attorney…

“Truth isn’t truth.” Enough said.

Nature Lover August 19, 2018 at 12:36 PM

You are so right. “Truth isn’t truth” ranks right up there with “Alternative facts.”

Fred P. August 20, 2018 at 6:54 AM

Kinda like Obama’s “most transparent administration?”

Silva August 20, 2018 at 7:33 AM

“Truth isn’t truth” said the pig, and proclaimed “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Since he won’t read anything… maybe someone read 1984 to him, or At least showed him illustrations . Too many parallels to be just so many coinkidinks.

HappyPappy August 20, 2018 at 8:36 AM

So here we go again…………….one limited thinking angry adolescent minded twit tries to twist the meaning of the words of another and the other limited thinking angry adolescent minded twits chime in blindly following along in leftist lockstep.
Another day, another fake story. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Justifiable anger August 20, 2018 at 9:33 AM

“And when you tell me he should testify because he’s going to tell the truth – that he shouldn’t worry – that’s so silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth, not the truth.”

That is the quote directly before the phrase, which illustrates how spinning the ‘facts’ is not always the truth. How many times do we have to point to democrats spinning the truth? Enough of this circus.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 20, 2018 at 8:55 PM

1984? I thought you were quoting from “Animal Farm”….. but I cut class alot way back when… so I could be mistaken.

AlwaysBePositive August 20, 2018 at 11:26 PM

ja…The judicial system is not talk shows or reality tv. Truth in the courts is not determined by the prosecutor. It is determined by the jury.

Who do you think they’d believe? Just based on how they have lived their lives…

Silva August 21, 2018 at 4:21 AM

Dr. Jellyfinger, Thanks! I needed that.🤪

Dr. Jellyfinger August 23, 2018 at 7:35 PM

So you’re trying to say all of Hillary’s antics from Benghazi to Bernie to her Congressional Oversight E-Mail Dodge, was actually just……
“Truth, in Politics”?

Elwood August 19, 2018 at 6:17 PM

I wonder what the MSM will do when the Mueller investigation reveals nothing?

Atticus Thraxx August 19, 2018 at 8:23 PM

Thirty two people and three companies indicated or guilty pleas so far. List of cabinet members dismissed or resigned… National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, and Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price.
The rest of them have all lawyered up because of ‘ fake news’.
Dig your optimism though Elwood. And thankfully clown-baby-traitor has what has to be the worst lawyer of all time.

Elwood August 19, 2018 at 11:32 PM

Whatever happened to “collusion” and “obstruction of justice”?

The only people Mueller has indicted so far are a bunch of Russians sitting in Moscow and laughing into their vodka, and a few small time crooks like Manafort.

Pyrrhus August 20, 2018 at 8:18 AM

Trump There was no Russian Meeting for JR.
Trump: The meeting was about Adoptions!
Trump: It was a meeting to get information on an opponent but it was useless so no problem! AND ITS NOT LEGAL!! REEEEEEE

Yeah, okay you keep drinking the kool-aid Republicans. I miss the days when the biggest scandal for a president was the color of his suit. or a vice president that can’t spell potato.

Elwood August 20, 2018 at 4:14 PM

My truth is not your truth.

truth depends on who’s doing the judging.

Atticus Thraxx August 20, 2018 at 5:54 PM

Truth is an absolute. Absolute in the way math is an absolute. It doesn’t require belief . It just is. Ask Bill Clinton. 😜

Dr. Jellyfinger August 20, 2018 at 8:58 PM

And that depends on what your definition of “is” is….
But what difference, at this point, does it make?

AlwaysBePositive August 20, 2018 at 11:28 PM

Based on your examples…apparently the political party you belong to.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 21, 2018 at 9:16 PM

ABP ~ Your reply makes no sense…. but at least you’re consistent.

AlwaysBePositive August 21, 2018 at 10:53 PM

dj…both of your sentences were said by D’s and used by R’s to club them about the head and shoulders for years.

“what your definition of “is” is….” Said by President Bill Clinton, I’ll be interested in seeing how the R’s serving in Congress during his term and are still there will vote on the same articles when applied to djt.

“But what difference, at this point, does it make?” Said by Sec of State Clinton during the Benghazi hearings. You remember those, led by resident yahoo Trey Gowdy (R), they lasted for years and led to zero convictions or even indictments.

HappyPappy August 21, 2018 at 10:42 AM

The everlasting good news –
Even though they did their ultimate best to fix the election, HILARY CLINTON AIN”T OUR PRESIDENT!
That alone is enough to celebrate and jump for joy!
All the twisted stories, lies, and fake news can’t change that.

HappyPappy August 21, 2018 at 11:35 AM

Thanks for your constantly repetitious redundant opinions, Aspirin. You never disappoint.

HappyPappy August 21, 2018 at 12:20 PM

I think socialism can work and I can prove it. My retirement income is $80,000 a year, all I need is to find someone who makes more than that so we can combine incomes and then split it equally. This would make a great case study, who’s with me?

JWB August 21, 2018 at 2:46 PM

How much of that is from Social Security? Yes you are correct socialism can work, you just proved.

HappyPappy August 21, 2018 at 7:19 PM

I don’t receive social security nor medicare, sorry to burst your socialist liberal bubble.
Saved up and did pretty well in the markets, I did.

JWB August 21, 2018 at 10:53 PM

wow that’s just sad … you live on $80K at retirement and forfait social security and medicare and you relalize that income under $117K in the Bay Area is considered low income?

you can google it yourself, but I would not call $80K doing pretty well …..

HappyPappy August 21, 2018 at 11:48 PM

Aww….that’s so sweet of you to be concerned, jwb. Alas don’t worry your silly little head, we own stocks and real estate. The 80K is our disposable fun money because we’re 100% debt free. For sure I was lucky. That luck came when smart planning met with hard work and opportunity. Keep this secret to success under your hat… low and sell high.
Can’t wait for the next crash, maybe I’ll buy you out of your upside down home loan. Pay attention, if it’s not too late for you, learn to work the system and stop thinking like a victim.

Fred P. August 24, 2018 at 2:09 PM

Jwb – he said $80k / year income. He didn’t say anything about investments; and he did say he was 100% debt free.

I would say say he’s doing pretty good….. unlike most Californians who love to live beyond their means…. like the CA politicians….

Doesn’t do a bit of good if you’re making $200k/year and carrying mortgages and other debt to move between cards.

Look at the whole picture next time.

Randy August 21, 2018 at 2:04 PM

It took 2 years to bring down Nixon. And investigating Watergate was like investigating a jaywalking ticket compared Mueller. The ship has hit the iceberg and it’s going down. Matter of time. Tic toc.

amieollie August 21, 2018 at 2:04 PM

Michael has just squealed on PUC (President Unindicted Co-conspirator). High incidence of exploding heads in White House. Stay tuned.

Randy August 21, 2018 at 2:06 PM

What happens when you have nothing to do:

Donald J. Trump

Bill DeBlasio, the high taxing Mayor of NYC, just stole my campaign slogan: PROMISES MADE PROMISES KEPT! That’s not at all nice. No imagination! @foxandfriends

Original G August 21, 2018 at 3:12 PM

Body of 20 year old missing college coed from Brooklyn, Iowa gas been found in a corn field and a 24 year old illegal from Mexico has been arrested and charged.

Atticus Thraxx August 21, 2018 at 5:43 PM

That is beyond horrible. On a related note a guy strangled his wife and two young children and hid their bodies in an oil tank. American citizen and white guy. But by all means, be selective in your outrage.

Elwood August 21, 2018 at 5:48 PM

Randy dear, I don’t suppose the phrase non sequitur has any significance for you at all.

You probably don’t even know what it means.

And in your perpetual oblivious state you don’t care.

Original G August 21, 2018 at 6:31 PM

IF you’d like dueling lists, had to check, have better than 210 bookmarked articles on crimes committed by illegals.

As for selective outrage what about last weekend in that Democrat gun controlled stronghold of Chicago last week end ? ? ?
“… Five people shot dead and more than 50 wounded since Friday night …”

TT August 21, 2018 at 8:48 PM

@Atticus Thraxx why do you think adding more crime to America is a good thing?

Dr. Jellyfinger August 21, 2018 at 9:12 PM

I think the point is if we had any real control over our borders and enforced our immigration laws there would be one less dead.

HappyPappy August 21, 2018 at 9:13 PM

You’re off the bubble on this, Atticus. If that GD illegal alien criminal bum wasn’t here that poor 20 year old missing college coed from Brooklyn, Iowa would be alive, and her family wouldn’t be forced to endure the most horrible event a parent can experience.

Atticus Thraxx August 21, 2018 at 9:40 PM

“have better than 210 bookmarked articles on crimes committed by illegals.”
That might be the saddest thing I’ve ever read here. That’s how you spend your time? Seriously? And do you think if I couldn’t come up with a list orders of magnitude larger, of heinous crimes committed by American citizens?
I’m no apologist for illegals, but you guys keep pretending there’s this plague and I say it ain’t so. No illegal has ever screwed me out of anything, but you know who has? White guys in suits. So if we’re gonna profile that’s where I’m starting.
TT if you’re just gonna toss them underhand, I ain’t even swinging at them.

Original G August 21, 2018 at 10:40 PM

Takes but mere seconds to bookmark articles for future reference. Then again there are those who spend time with their heads in the sand drinking the lefts’ propaganda koolaid.

An is it not a courtesy to fellow posters to provide supporting URLs so they may do further research and form opinions based on facts rather than blindly believing the spewings of the alphabet networks talking head fabricators ???

How many Americans would be alive if the three previous administrations had been serious about border security and removal of illegals convicted of crimes ???

Here’s a little tidbit about supposed public servants failing to cooperate with ICE.
‘ICE locates, arrests sex offender after NC county refuses to honor detainer’

So YES bookmark . . . . because MSNBC, CNN and the rest sure as heck will never present these types of stories. Because they do not fit their liberal bias narrative.

WC Resident August 21, 2018 at 11:16 PM

“have better than 210 bookmarked articles on crimes committed by illegals.” seems odd. Do you have bookmarks for the millions of crimes committed by citizens of the USA?

I believe that illegal immigrants tend to drive more carefully and to commit fewer crimes than citizens as they don’t want to attract law enforcement attention. Attempting to improve your life by immigrating is not a crime in my book. Instead, those people should be welcomed as they are showing more initiative than the average person.

mtzman August 22, 2018 at 8:13 AM

I have to agree: bookmarking 210 stories is pretty sad, but it does demonstrate the success of our current educational system. We have gone from the old model of simply listing anecdotal data as “proof” to support one’s preconceived notions, to one of critical thinking and looking at the bigger picture.

The facts are that the crime rate among the undocumented is LESS than that of the general population, and that the issue of immigration in the United States is far more complex than building some wall or targeting immigrants.

For example, the person accused of the Iowa murder has apparently worked for several years for Yarrabee Farms, a company owned by the family of Craig Lang, a prominent Republican who previously served as president of the Iowa Farm Bureau. Where is the complicity of Republicans in all this?

Randy August 21, 2018 at 4:52 PM

which calls into question every single dollar the RNC collected during his more than a year at the head of the committee.

And don’t forget Deputy Finance Chair Elliot Broidy, the man who resigned the post after it was revealed he had paid off a former Playboy model $1.6 million for her silence about their affair, now under investigation for selling influence inside the Republican Party.

amieollie August 21, 2018 at 6:29 PM

Most of the usual flapjaws seem to be missing this evening. Perhaps they’re over at Hannity & Co., collecting an assortment of “alternative “facts” and “whataboutisms” in aid of PUC (President Unindicted Co-conspirator). Can’t wait for the results.

Local August 21, 2018 at 6:57 PM

And of course now Donald Trump is officially an unindicted co-conspirator, just like Nixon.

Lying liberals.

Fred P. August 21, 2018 at 9:25 PM

Blah, blah, blah…

Elwood August 21, 2018 at 11:52 PM

Just a friendly word of advice, kids.

“An unindicted co-conspirator, or unindicted conspirator, is a person or entity that is alleged in an indictment to have engaged in conspiracy, but who is not charged in the same indictment.” –Wikipedia

Hasn’t happened yet. May never happen.

In the immortal words of Yogi Berra: “It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings.”

Nunya August 22, 2018 at 3:40 AM

So is Cristhian Rivera just another Mexican looking for work, or did he brutally murder an American citizen while staying here illegally.

mtzman August 22, 2018 at 7:55 AM

Turns out he has worked for several years at Yarrabee Farms, a company owned by the family of Craig Lang, a prominent Republican who previously served as president of the Iowa Farm Bureau.

HappyPappy August 22, 2018 at 9:12 AM

Congratulations to mtzman, the winner of today’s Quantum Leap To Lunacy Award for that feeble attempt to connect an illegal alien murderer to Republicans, and by extension to the president.
Your mean-spirited hate filled comments help to bolster and unite the opposing party.

mtzman August 22, 2018 at 2:24 PM

Okay, Pappy, I guess you’re not all that Happy today. Not trying to be mean-spirited here, but just pointed out that the immigration issue is a lot more complex than what the minions want to believe. To those who argue she would still be alive if he weren’t in the country, he probably would not have been in the country (or at least that part of it) if he hadn’t been employed at the farm.

HappyPappy August 22, 2018 at 4:49 PM

Oh please, tell me you’re not that ignorant. I can appreciate a spirited debate but at least let’s keep it within the realm of realities. Your far fetched reaching has no end and I ain’t quite dumb enough to take your rotten stinky bait, mtzman.
Some of us are wise you your leftist-mind-flip tricks.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 22, 2018 at 7:46 AM

Looks like all the lefties have been directed to leave the Manifort news alone & concentrate on Cohen instead…. that figures.

Insisting that people should be held to account for their actions, arrested & tried is a hard sell for Democrats who have been demanding that their own be excused for all crimes great or small.

I’m figuring their strategy will be to squeeze Cohen to keep changing the story to save his own tail & settle for just smearing Trump as much as possible (that is what they are best at).

They need to make this payoff matter look more damning than fixing a Primary Election or paying for Russians to cook up a phony document to use as a basis for FISA warrants.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 22, 2018 at 8:08 AM

Which for some strange reason…. nobody is being investigated or prosecuted for!

Silva August 22, 2018 at 8:18 AM

It’s a beautiful day.

Antler August 22, 2018 at 10:31 AM

Silva August 22, 2018 at 4:01 PM

HappyPappy August 22, 2018 at 9:04 AM

The Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, Title 52, United States Code Section 30101 states in part that individuals are limited to making donations of $2,700 to presidential candidates. Cohen is accused of spending money in violation of the Act. Although Cohen spent more than $2,700 on behalf of Trump, he was reimbursed by Trump, so Trump was ultimately spending money on himself, and there is no limit on how much a person may spend on their own presidential campaign, so this section does not apply.

The Campaign Act also prohibits corporations from contributing directly to presidential campaigns. Cohen set up dummy corporations to make the payments and pled to making improper corporate donations. But again, although the money technically came from corporations, ultimately, all the money came from Donald Trump, so again these limitations do not apply.

But more importantly, this was not a campaign expenditure at all. Constitutional scholar Mark Levin has interviewed former Federal Election Commission Chairman Bradley Smith repeatedly on his show over the past year, and Smith has made the point that “dual use” expenditures are not “campaign expenditures” under the meaning of the Act.

Randy August 22, 2018 at 12:32 PM

The truth is not the truth.

mtzman August 22, 2018 at 2:34 PM

This isn’t going to make Pappy Happy, either. The fact that Cohen may have been reimbursed by Trump at a later date does not negate the fact that the payments to the women were made initially by Cohen and are therefore in-kind contributions in the form of a loan, which is covered by the FECA.

And what would the “dual use” be? It is really hard to believe that Trump was concerned about his reputation or of Melania finding out. If I were her, I’d be more pissed at his paying out the $280,000 than discovering yet another set of affairs.

HappyPappy August 22, 2018 at 4:40 PM

So then mtzman……………what are campaign expenditures?
Payments for advertising, consultants, rallies, transportation, polling, and get out the vote efforts, etc. Have you heard of anyone ever reporting payments to a mistress as campaign expenditure? Almost certainly not. Maybe Slick Willie tried, huh.

Look mtzman, every expenditure is not an campaign expenditure simply because it may also benefit a campaign. It’s ONLY purpose must benefit a campaign. So if a candidate buys a car, or gets his teeth whitened, these are things that can benefit his campaign, but are not campaign expenditures because they also have personal benefits. The laws were written to benefit certain people. Even you can see that, right? Maybe not!

Payments to Trump’s alleged mistresses to stay silent certainly benefited his campaign, AND they also served the purpose of not embarrassing the his family. For a while at least. There clearly was a dual use to the payments, so then they were not “campaign expenditures” under the act. If they were, then everything a candidate spent money on during the course of a campaign, whether of a personal nature or not, would have to be reported as a campaign expenditure. Do they eat during a campaign? Well, if so that benefits his campaign and so must be an expenditure! Do you see how ridiculous this can become?

So these payments were not campaign expenditures and there is no violation.
But Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to violating campaign expenditure laws. Although no plea deal was announced, it looks like Cohen has flipped and pleaded guilty to these counts to avoid even more charges. But just because Cohen claims he, and Trump, violated campaign finance laws, that is not the same as a legal determination that he did so.

As Mark Levin pointed out on his show yesterday, a guilty plea is not an adjudication of a court. No court has ever ruled that hush payments to mistresses are a campaign expenditure. Cohen was squeezed to get the results Mueller wanted, to give even the most obscure grounds to impeach Trump. They pile on charges, real and fake, to achieve the desired result. They threaten to destroy your reputation and ruin you financially. DA’s do it every day, a smart guy like you should know that, right mtzman?

Annnnnnd…..Pappy is extremely happy. I may be one of the few here but I’m living the dream. Financially secure, excellent health, and a loving family living similarly. I once believed I was lucky but now know that I am truly blessed.
I wish the same for all of us. Even you haters.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 22, 2018 at 6:52 PM

“The tragedy here is that the 2016 election would likely have gone for Hillary were it not for Comey’s unnecessary reopening of an email investigation and Trump’s payoffs to porn stars being hidden”

Geez Aspirin…. don’t you think calling nearly half the populace “a basket of deplorables” and rigging the primary election to cheat Bernie Sanders out of any chance to be elected might have had ANYTHING to do with Hillary losing?

Anon August 22, 2018 at 8:40 PM

Pretty sure that the 400,000,000……that’s 400 Million that Hillary accepted from Russia was also just another nail in the 1,000s of her coffin.

PS: good riddance to that trash, but you clowns will be right be at it with your Flavor Aid drinking once Chelsea reaches presidential age.

amieollie August 22, 2018 at 11:44 AM

PUC’s minions’ deflection marching orders for the day in full swing. Don’t make no nevermind ’bout his criminal henchmen and his own nasty machinations. Nothing to see there. Illegal immigrants are what’s wrong with anything and everything, now and forever, until further notice.

What’s that I hear, . . . . knickers of swamp dweller supporters twisting ever tighter ? ? ?

JWB August 22, 2018 at 6:40 PM

Again what has Bill to do with the fact that you don’t seem upset at a married man having a bunch of affairs and paying them off to keep them quiet? Also how do you know whether or not the Obama’s would have loved the outfits at the VMS? How about the Donald loving the Melania’s nude pictures?

Your outrage seems to be highly selective…….

Justifiable anger August 22, 2018 at 7:03 PM

My understanding is Bill Clinton raped, groped and exposed his genitals to more than a few women…along with his several affairs. Many while he was President of the US. Hillary covered for him by using character assassinations against the women, with help from the media of course.

The media loved the Clinton’s, in very many ways. Hillary’s name is all but forgotten by liberal hacks:
“The law firm for the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee has acknowledged its clients’ role in paying for opposition research on Donald Trump that helped fund the now-infamous dossier of allegations about the now-President and Russia.”

Dr. Jellyfinger August 22, 2018 at 7:10 PM

You know way back when Bill Clinton was in college he was accused of rape… twice. Then he got really good at it….. never had to do more than pay off a couple of gals, but the lefties never held it against him… even the grim faced, man haters at N.O.W. never gave Bill any grief… Teddy Kennedy (The Lion of the Senate) was worshiped by the left, but never held to account for his drunken driving manslaughter of Mary Jo Kopekne… or his running away from the accident & letting hours pass before reporting it…

So please, don’t feign any moral outrage at Trump’s slutty payoffs… on the Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure scale it doesn’t even register.

JWB August 22, 2018 at 8:34 PM

@ Jellyfinger
Since you’re clearly in the slow reading group. Where did I feign any moral outrage at Trump’s sleepy payoffs? All I said is that it is too funny for somebody to accuse democrats as having no morals and then be quiet about a married man who pays off his affairs to keep them quiet.

Clinton’s affairs have nothing to do with this. Or do you think Ted Bundy should be elevated to sainthood because he only admitted to 36 killings and may have killed as many as 100, but compared to Stalin 20 to 25 million people that is nothing?

How about there are both Democrats and Republicans with low morals and there are both Democrats and Republicans with high morals.

I think you also forgot that the Washington Free Beacon too played a role in the opposition research against Donald Trump, but of course that doesn’t fit your narrative.

Original G August 22, 2018 at 9:56 PM

Solution to a much bigger problem would be reducing number of self serving career politicians and sycophant unelected bureaucrats of both parties which make up the fetid SWAMP.

President Trump is unpopular with them because he represents a real threat to their corrupt way of life.

Finally, after three in a row pitiful excuses for President, we have a President who puts the American people before the mega wealthy one percent who routinely buy off politicians with campaign contributions.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 22, 2018 at 10:04 PM

JWB ~ why do you assume I was talking specifically to you? I wasn’t… I rarely waste my time responding to your drivel…. I’m still trying to figure out if your handle stands for John Wilkes Booth or Johnnie Walker Black… (or both?)….. either way you seem incapable of understanding or even recognizing double standard the Blue team lives by. Cheers!

Justifiable anger August 23, 2018 at 6:54 AM

I might switch to the socialist ideal when:

Soros, ALL the alphabet news outlets, ALL wealthy democrats of every stripe… put their wealth at OUR disposal. Even up the playing field. No haves. No special privileges for leaders, no favors for acolytes.

Not a chance in heaven.

T. Payne August 23, 2018 at 9:40 AM

So Justifiable anger,
You sound like you prefer Communism to our free market or even the Nordic model of Socialism.
Ever been to a communist country? Were you born when the Soviet Union was in full swing? I’ve been to the other side of the iron curtain. Life was not pretty for those people. It was hard and miserable, and you still had the haves and have nots, the haves were just high ranking party officials. The poor were still poor, and those who complained disappeared. Be thankful for our imperfect republic, you really do have a better chance to get ahead here than anywhere else in the world, which is why so many want to come here. Don’t take your good fortune for granted. There is no magic bullet, work hard, save your money, don’t make bad choices and you will be fine.

DOUBLE BINGO THIS MORNING! It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Justifiable anger August 23, 2018 at 10:37 AM

T.Payne: I was being facetious.

There can be no leveling of the playing field. For the reasons you state and more.

HappyPappy August 23, 2018 at 10:37 AM

Don’t mess with the DNC when their trying to fix an election:

A former government contractor who pleaded guilty to leaking U.S. secrets about Russia’s attempts to hack the 2016 presidential election was sentenced Thursday to five years and three months in prison.
It was the sentence that prosecutors had recommended in the plea deal — the longest sentence ever given for a federal crime involving leaks to the news media.

Original G and Justifiable anger, Excellent rundown and itemization on liberal inability to control their functionality.

Lena August 23, 2018 at 1:40 PM

How do we know that Trump’s attorney wasn’t attempting to give Trump some much needed street cred with liberals after the election and came up with this ruse, paying the women to fabricate stories that they had sexual relations with the President? At this point, we don’t.

HappyPappy August 23, 2018 at 3:07 PM

Aspirin -Thank you for doing more than your part to bolster and unite conservatives. We don’t need you but sure do appreciate your efforts. Your little pet randy tries but you’re the leader.

Fake news has been really busy that last few days.

Trump on Fox and Fiends

“That’s a much bigger thing, did they come out of the campaign? They didn’t come from the campaign, they came from me, and I tweeted about it. You know, I don’t know if you know, but I tweeted about the payments. But they didn’t come out of the campaign.”

BUT, didn’t he originally DENY that any payment was even made? Then said that Cohen did so without his knowledge, now they came from him. WOW!!!

His tongue is his own portable shovel. wherever he goes, he finds a way to deepen the hole he steps in.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 23, 2018 at 7:26 PM

I can’t believe Trump could be that stupid…. I mean he is married to a gorgeous super model and he still fooled around?

And you gotta know these women will talk… no matter what….. they are going to tell someone … or everyone! They always do.
Every guy knows he will get busted for it… I will quote from the Diamond’s “Little Darlin”:

My love-a, I was wrong-a (la-la-la-la-la-la)
To-oo try to lo-ove two
A-hoopa, a-hoopa, hoopa hoopa
Kno-ow well-a that my love-a (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Wa-as just fo-or you, oh only-ee-ee-ee you!

Words of wisdom…

Even Bill Clinton knew it, he said he knew Monica was going to blab about their hanky pankie…… but he took the bait anyway…. just couldn’t keep it in his pants…. and probably could have used a hankie if he’d had one instead of a blue dress.

So thank Goodness Trump is only really talented at managing people and business and knowing how to stimulate the economy to provide jobs so that even Blacks and Hispanics have achieved the highest employment levels ever.

And instead of preaching marital morals to us (as if he could) Trump can keep focusing on handling foreign policy that destroyed ISIS in the first year of his Presidency & put billions of dollars into NATO that other deadbeat nations were holding back until DJT shamed them into coughing it up….

Trump can keep bringing businesses and billions of dollars back to the USA instead of wasting his time trying to prove himself an angelic role model for all America’s children…
Pence can do that.

Come 2020 I’m betting we get 4 more years!

Nunya August 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM

Hussein does the same thing and he gets a fine. Must be because he is black.

Chicken Little August 24, 2018 at 9:22 AM

You’re right, Aspirin. It’s very questionable whether Trump’s payment to those women could be considered a campaign expenditure. With Obama, it’s much clearer.

Lena August 23, 2018 at 7:25 PM

That won’t be necessary, they fumigated when Obama left I’m sure.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 23, 2018 at 8:07 PM

Now that comment will automatically become….. “RACIST!”

Dr. Jellyfinger August 23, 2018 at 9:00 PM

It isn’t paid TO influence the election….
It is paid to NOT influence the election.

Justifiable anger August 24, 2018 at 8:44 AM

No kidding:

“San Francisco Public Works has a $72.5 million-a-year street cleaning budget — including spending $12 million a year on what essentially have become housekeeping services for homeless encampments.

The costs include $2.8 million for a Hot Spots crew to wash down the camps and remove any biohazards, $2.3 million for street steam cleaners, $3.1 million for the Pit Stop portable toilets, plus the new $830,977-a-year Poop Patrol to actively hunt down and clean up human waste.

(By the way, the poop patrolers earn $71,760 a year, which swells to $184,678 with mandated benefits.)”

Is Concord ready for this expense?

Silva August 24, 2018 at 9:17 AM

I, for one, believe that the Seventh Commandment (Thou shall not commit adultery) contained in the Ten Commandments is still a big deal. It’s the most important promise you’ll ever make. And holding people accountable to those promises and holding people accountable to respecting the promises that other people make to me. What what could possibly be a bigger deal than that in this country?”

“If our leaders flinch at this responsibility, they would do well to heed the Proverb ‘if a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked. Our leaders must either act to restore the luster and dignity of the institution of the Presidency or we can be certain that this is only the beginning of an even more difficult time for our land. For the nation to move on, the President must move out.”

“If you and I fall into bad moral habits, we can harm our families, our employers and our friends. The President of the United States can incinerate the planet. Seriously, the very idea that we ought to have at or less than the same moral demands placed on the Chief Executive that we place on our next door neighbor is ludicrous and dangerous.”

“Throughout our history, we have seen the presidency as the repository of all of our highest hopes and ideals and values. To demand less is to do an injustice to the blood that bought our freedoms.”

Atticus Thraxx August 24, 2018 at 4:50 PM

If clown-baby-traitor really wanted to lock Hillary up, he would’ve have given her a position in his cabinet.
Next to fall….Lying, stealing, Wilbur Ross. Secretary of Commerce.

It’s almost funny how many grown humans are throwing tantrums like 2 year olds. Complete with blaming the adults for their predicament.

Lena August 24, 2018 at 6:15 PM

In what way was the election unfair?

Lena August 24, 2018 at 6:32 PM

All Presidents lie. John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Richard Nixon, George Bush (although Bush may have just been mistaken or misinformed). I believe even Ronald Reagan conveniently couldn’t remember things when pressed on the matters at hand. I’m sure there is a very good explanation for Trump’s lack of clarity on the events surrounding the alleged payoffs. Time will tell and, until the investigation is complete, we just won’t know. Until that time, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.
