I know it’s hard for some who predicted doomsday seven times over by now from our new president, but whether we like him or not, gotta give him props where credit is due. Economy, jobs, GDP, border, trade…. I think what scares people the most is he’s actually doing something, and also keeping campaign promises. And I’m right there with everyone, this is the first time in my lifetime I’ve witnessed a politician get into office and do even remotely what they said they were going to do.

Good show ole chap! Keep things up and you’ll get my vote in 2020

Aspirin August 5, 2018 at 12:44 PM

Promises like better health care for all and a border wall and no nukes in N. Korea ?

What are you smoking ?

Trump is continuing the excellent performance started by Obama (check the record).

Aspirin August 5, 2018 at 12:47 PM

Doomsday may be coming. Mueller is on a mission.

Lena August 5, 2018 at 3:50 PM

My healthcare went South under Obama. It can only get better under Trump. Trump, Trump he’s our man. If he can’t do it, noone can! #MAGA

Fred P. August 8, 2018 at 9:26 PM

Aspirin, the problem is you’re expecting Trump to fix in two years what Obama spent 8 years screwing up.

Rome wasn’t built in a day…

Aspirin August 9, 2018 at 8:29 PM

Trump promised “better healthcare for all as soon as I take office”.

I wonder which office he was talking about.

Aspirin August 9, 2018 at 8:34 PM

USA, Clinton presided over one of the best economies ever and Obama fixed the mess that Bush left, saved GM, enabled millions to obtain health care, and started the job increases to get us back on track financially.

The Obama economy continues to grow under Trump and let’s hope that Trump’s tariff wars don’t send us into recession.

Not since Lincoln has a president been treated with such disdain and a lack of civility. Thank God he is up to the challenge!

Doh August 4, 2018 at 7:16 AM

The lack of civility is performed by Trump almost daily. He sets the example for his followers. Trump really out did himself last week when he told his rally not to believe their own eyes and ears.

HappyPappy August 4, 2018 at 8:32 AM

And like Lincoln, the President will be remembered and celebrated for courage under constant fire from evil subversive forces.

Aspirin August 5, 2018 at 12:44 PM

Disdain well deserved, I might add.

mtzman August 6, 2018 at 3:26 PM

You problem don’t get the irony of your tagline, do you?

Change August 4, 2018 at 7:36 AM

#Dump Trump

Aspirin August 4, 2018 at 8:58 AM

With Trump it is all about money. What about the healthcare reform he promised? This was a major plank in his campaign. Why is he trying to defeat or roll back environmental protection laws?

Why is he dividing the country with his insulting tweets and name-calling (ex: Crooked Hillary)? His rallies do nothing but fire up his base, which is not the majority in this country. Why is he taking credit for the huge economic expansion started with Obama?

If you add up the results of the Mueller Investigation so far you will see what is quite possibly the most corrupt Administration ever. Over 3,000 lies have been attributed to Trump. Does he think that we are that gullible?

I can’t remember another presidential candidate promising to put his opponent in prison. Trump threatened to do this to Hillary. What kind of a petty-minded person does this?

HappyPappy August 4, 2018 at 9:54 AM

Note to self: Comments like this one, posted by our radical leftist friend, Aspirin, that are clearly intended to feed off the divisions spawned by the last administration, shall be ignored.
President Trump, nor any Republican, will ever accomplish anything to please this leftist malcontent.

Ricardoh August 4, 2018 at 10:02 AM

Just because the partisan Obama administration let Hillary skate does not mean she is not guilty of multiple infractions of her office.
The list of her and Obama’s screw ups is endless. Their help in the killing of Kadaffi and turning Libya into a lawless state that is now allowing the invasion of Europe should put them both in prison. The cost of that fiasco is horrendous.. The ramifications will go on for hundreds of years if not forever. Hillary and Obama had no idea how to run a country.

Elwood August 4, 2018 at 4:59 PM

Aspirin, you forgot to mention that when Trump was seven years old he stole a candy bar.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 7, 2018 at 9:56 PM

Well….. Hillary never “promised” to put Trump in prison… but she sure paid alot of other people to set it up & try to do it.

Captain Bebops August 4, 2018 at 9:38 AM

So is everyone’s boat being raised by Mr. Make America Great Again? I thought not.

Lena August 5, 2018 at 3:53 PM

Yep! Everyday in everyway, things get better and better under our great President, Donald Trump! #MAGA

AlwaysBePositive August 7, 2018 at 9:02 AM

l…Cue laugh track.

Lena August 9, 2018 at 9:34 PM

Yep …. laughing all the way to the bank! #MAGA

Ricardoh August 4, 2018 at 10:13 AM

If you are a democrat think twice about who you vote for in the next election. The democrat party is not the democrat party that was for working people. It has morphed into something completely different. I am not going to list all of their crazy claims all you have to do is listen to them yourself.. Use your head is that what you really want? Don’t encourage the suppression of free speech. .

Aspirin August 5, 2018 at 12:51 PM

It is the Democratic Party, not the “democrat party”, and which “crazy claims” are you referring to?

Be careful not to mix them in with the equal number of “crazy claims” coming from the GOP.

Voting for another pathological liar like Trump will hopefully not happen.

Fred P. August 9, 2018 at 7:26 AM

Aspirin…. really, what professional qualifications (training, education, certifications, etc…) do you hold that allow you to diagnose Trump as a “pathological liar…”???

You’ve made that claim several times; you’ve been asked the same question several times, and yet you’re unable and unwilling to provide that information.

Frankly, I doubt that you do any research… other than reading those sites with which you agree. And that demonstrates your inability to look objectively at the situation.

Randy August 4, 2018 at 12:29 PM

One day soon 45 is going to tweet his way into a very difficult situation even he won’t be able to buy his way out of.. the gloves are off and the President is in a no holds barred brawl with the free press with CNN being the face of all Journalists nationwide..I’m thinking the President has picked a fight he can’t and won’t win.. journalists internationally are watching this fight and there are thousands of very talented very nosy Journalists flipping over every flat rock on God’s green earth trying to find dirt on this President.. if there really is a PP tape or something equivalent sooner or later one of them will find it..

Elwood August 4, 2018 at 5:04 PM

Don’t you wish, Randy?

Those “thousands of very talented very nosy Journalists” haven’t been able to find diddly squat yet, but they, like you, are true believers.

Aspirin August 5, 2018 at 4:10 PM

The press are doing their job. Trump’s frustration is a good sign.

Power to the people !

Nunya August 4, 2018 at 12:29 PM

So the best those who don’t understand or otherwise respect the 2A can come up with is this:

“F$%^ Gun Rights!”

Said by a young person, who is no doubt the top of his class.

Lena August 5, 2018 at 3:56 PM

Pretty much the full extent of the liberal vocabulary.

Nunya August 8, 2018 at 4:53 PM

Well Said!

#AllClintonsInJail

Sick of it August 4, 2018 at 12:43 PM

Nope. He speaks the truth. America needs to open its eyes. The Democrats would give this country away just to stay in power, just look at what’s going on in this state.

Aspirin August 5, 2018 at 12:54 PM

Funny how this state is a world economic powerhouse, isn’t it?

Lena August 5, 2018 at 4:13 PM

Crumblng infrastructure, hoards of illegal aliens crossing into the state including MS-13 gang members and many felons with multiple deportations, unaffordable housing, skyrocketing utility costs, the streets filled with homeless and beggars, gas taxes upping the cost just to get to work, an opiod crisis right under your nose, state agencies understaffed and dysfunctional, devastating fires from forest mismanagement after years of democrats misspent funds, farmers without water looking at financial disaster while democrats ship it to SoCal to water Oprah’s and Beyonce’s lawn. Economic powerhouse for the wealthy perhaps, but at the expense of the working poor. Democrats have made a mockery of California. Brown’s mispent youth has caught up with him and he leads a legislative branch that caters to a vocal minority which is comoletely out of touch with the average working man and woman.

mtzman August 6, 2018 at 3:24 PM

Lena says “Brown’s misspent youth has caught up with him.” I was curious which part of that youth are you talking about? Was it his graduating from St. Ignatius High School, UC Berkeley, or Yale Law School, or his 3.5 years of residing at Sacred Heart, a Jesuit novitiate?

Or maybe it was his election as Secretary of State, Attorney General, mayor of Oakland, or four terms as governor? Maybe it was his being considered as “much more of a fiscal conservative than Governor Reagan?”

One thing I can tell you is that he does not lead a legislative branch now, and has never served as a legislator at any time in his political career. Where do you come up with all these untrue assertions?

HappyPappy August 6, 2018 at 5:34 PM

All those serious issues pointed out and mtzman focuses on one innocuous phrase?
It’s the old leftist mind-flip trick once more, it’s all he has.

Lena August 9, 2018 at 9:19 PM

mtzman, Pick one, any one. Maybe it was sleeping on his mattress on the floor. Maybe it was his refusal to live in the Governor’s mansion. Maybe it was the time he spent with Linda Rondstadt. I’m sure UC Bezerkley was a contributing factor. His father was brilliant. Jerry, not so much.

Lena August 10, 2018 at 4:33 AM

mtzman, He obviously failed at his first career choice, the priesthood. You have to work your butt of to get a degree from a state college. To get one from Berkeley you only have to get admitted. And, when your father was once the Governor of the state, that’s easy. Brown has pretty much “skated” through life. He got his “Governor Moonbeam” nickname from his slightly “off the wall” approach to the office during his first terms. Apparently, he hoped to salvage his reputation this time around, but while he has accumulated a budget surplus, the rest of the state’s agencies and programs went sideways.

Lena August 10, 2018 at 6:31 AM

mtzman, Brown has never done a lick of work in his life … and neither has Newsom.

Change your comments Dump Trump and I work for Fox news show how you are a democrat with nothing but a couple of old slogans just like your party.

Silva August 5, 2018 at 7:36 AM

Five Stages of Trumpism:
1) It’s a lie, FAKE NEWS.
2) Okay it happened, but it’s no big deal.
3) Okay it might be a big deal but it’s not illegal, he’s making America great again, cankles would’ve been a disaster. America first! (Nobody EVER responds when asked how they justify that none of Trump merchandise is made in America).
4) Okay it’s illegal but Obama and Hillary something something so it’s okay.
5) Get over it, you’re just a sore loser. Nya nya nya.

He’s sure throwing out a lot of bad stink bombs. Something is up.

HappyPappy August 5, 2018 at 9:23 AM

Yup something IS up, Silva, and you nice folks swallow it every time. Maybe we should thank you for the cheap entertainment?

Silva August 5, 2018 at 9:31 AM

Long as it makes ya happy, Pappy!😊

Rollo Tomasi August 5, 2018 at 11:22 AM

Very reminiscent of Clinton supporters during the 2016 campaign. Spot on. By the way, any idea where we can find Hillary’s 33,000 emails? Still can’t seem to get a response on that.
Perhaps you get my point, perhaps not. If not, here it is – politics on one side of the aisle is virtually always a mirror image of the other side.

Aspirin August 5, 2018 at 12:52 PM

Trump is feeling the heat from Mueller. This is fun to watch.

Silva August 5, 2018 at 12:56 PM

I know Rollo Tomasi. What about her emails. Benghazi. Her husband. The Clinton hit squad. She drinks chardonnay. Bill. Her health, etc., etc.. etc. the two of them have been on my radar for a long time, and i’ve known him to only ever be concerned about Donald Trump’s own wants and supposed needs to the exclusion of all else, more so than anyone else I’ve ever observed.. Now Trump has some serious pathology going on. The good of our nation is in jeopardy. It’s a very interesting juxtaposition. Lock him up.

Silva August 5, 2018 at 1:05 PM

BTW, Stage 4!😉

Rollo Tomasi August 5, 2018 at 8:31 PM

Oh, I see. The liberal left is pure, virtuous, and above reproach. Got it. Thank you for proving my point. I knew you’d come through.

Silva August 6, 2018 at 5:39 AM

Rollo Tomasi, I really can’t speak for the liberal left. Nice deflection though, sort of.

Elwood August 7, 2018 at 4:54 PM

Aspirin:

“Trump is feeling the heat from Mueller.”

Wishful thinking dear.

HappyPappy August 5, 2018 at 8:35 AM

Still without viable candidates, the left wing loser party has only slogans, lies, and fake news. Being force fed hard core leftist propaganda, is it any wonder there are so many misinformed fools. But for their ignorance and stupidity it’s almost unfair to hold them responsible for swallowing all that venomous group-think poison.

AlwaysBePositive August 5, 2018 at 11:33 PM

hp…The viable candidate proposed for Claycord residents by the Republican Party is a holocaust denier. Look at the first page of his campaign website. You really are too funny.

HappyPappy August 6, 2018 at 6:05 PM

abp –
non-sequitur

AlwaysBePositive August 6, 2018 at 9:58 PM

hp…You declared the left have no viable candidates. I said the local opposing party to the left has nominated a holocaust denier, the very definition of a candidate that is not viable. Looking forward to hearing your explanation as to how that fits the meaning of non sequiter.

HappyPappy August 7, 2018 at 9:58 AM

My comment has to do with national elections, not local which have little / no effect on national issues.
Couldn’t even tell you who your local candidate is and don’t care, I escaped CCC long ago.

Elwood August 7, 2018 at 5:01 PM

“The viable candidate proposed for Claycord residents by the Republican Party is a holocaust denier. Look at the first page of his campaign website. You really are too funny.”

Assuming that out of the blue you are talking about Marky Mark’s opponent, he is not endorsed by the Republican party.

You really are too funny!

Lena August 7, 2018 at 6:54 PM

And, neither is Feinstein endorsed by the Democrats, but she holds the lead. There is only one way to get rid of DeSaulnier. Vote for his opponent and hope he changes his position once he gets into office … just like they all do. And, they all do!

Silva August 5, 2018 at 9:29 AM

Whoopsie, I forgot number two needs an adjustment. So much to keep track of anymore!;
2) Okay it happened, but I he knew absolutely nothing about it,and it’s no big deal. EVERYONE does it.
3) Okay it might be a big deal but it’s not illegal, sure he knew about it but he’s making America great again and I don’t care.

Ricardoh August 5, 2018 at 10:16 AM

Silva are you talking about Hillary’s 40,000 missing emails and her smashed phones with government information. Or maybe a sexual creep that had thousands of her emails on his computer. Oh maybe it is about the two Pakistani computer guys who took off with the DNC computers. Maybe the Chinese spy who drove Diane F. around for twenty years. I could go on but what is the point you people only hear what you are programmed to hear.

Silva August 5, 2018 at 10:51 AM

Ricardoh, One way you all are right, a lot of them ARE like that and to me it looked like the Democrats were flogging a dead horse. She would deniably be leading us into a world moving in a forward direction from day one. We don’t need to regress as a nation by at least 50 years throughout the board. This is not the 1950s, and we don’t need no stinking wars and loss of any more revenue, public and personal. I’m shifting my holdings. It looks like others are too.

Lena August 5, 2018 at 4:29 PM

Trump, like most successful people, delegates. Sarah Sanders handles the press leaving Trump free to do more important things.

Randy August 5, 2018 at 5:26 PM

The more people ignore 45 the more outrageous his tweets become. They are unbelievable except for the people who drank the Kool aide. He’s ready to crack.

HappyPappy August 5, 2018 at 6:43 PM

I’ve noticed the very same thing regarding your comments, randy. Perhaps you’re transferring your personal issues to the president?

Dr. Jellyfinger August 5, 2018 at 10:49 PM

LoL! Yeah…. that’s it. Trump is feeling like nobody pays attention to him! (I mean… other than 90% of the people on the planet Earth). Trump can’t even cut a fart without the news reporting that he is destroying the environment… but we’re all ignoring him!
Just listen to any news station or check the headlines on any newspaper… nothing about Trump.
You’ve got it all figured out Randy!

HappyPappy August 5, 2018 at 7:09 PM

I CONCUR, CNN SUCKS —
Hysteria around “CNN sucks” is humorous. Yeah, it is a faux pas in the decorum expected from presidents that Trump is leading the chorus, but I believe stripping the presidency and politics in general of the false facade of respectability is refreshing.
For too long we have given adoration and respect to liars and crooks, of both parties, who ascend to office on the backs of sophistry and lies, only to be betrayed by the duplicitous snakes they are.
Call out the media rats and drain the swamp! MAGA

HappyPappy August 6, 2018 at 8:28 AM

California’s insane policy of releasing dangerous criminal illegal aliens back into our communities in stead of reporting them to fed authorities for deportation presents a critical public safety issue for the people. It’s also dangerous for federal law enforcement officials who must then arrest them at grave personal risk to themselves and to innocent bystanders.
There is obviously a good reason for immigration law to be in federal hands and every reason for state and local governments to cooperate in their enforcement. If our immigration laws are ignored, as ignorant sanctuary supporters advocate, then our national borders mean nothing.
The open borders advocated by California lunatic democrat officials are suicidal for any nation.
Do they really need the votes that badly? The answer is yes.

Lena August 6, 2018 at 10:26 AM

Apparently, Democrats learned nothing from the invasion of illegal (and very criminal) aliens from Fidel Castro’s prisons in the 1980s. It is the stuff of legends.

Silva August 6, 2018 at 12:30 PM

Some of them were nice good fun boys though. I do remember having some gay old times!

Lena August 7, 2018 at 6:38 PM

Why am I not surprised?

Silva August 7, 2018 at 8:44 PM

💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃

Dr. Jellyfinger August 7, 2018 at 9:52 PM

You mean like Flintsone’s “gay old times” right Silva…

Silva August 8, 2018 at 6:16 PM

Not exactly Dr. Jellyfinger, but since you asked, I think I feel a story coming on.. yes. The Cuban economy had crashed, and thousands of desperate people gathered at foreign embassies wanting off the island. Fidel needed to act to save face as word got out. I have read that he said anyone who wanted to leave could go, but that’s not what I heard from refugees I talked to back then. I once knew some gay men who’d got out of Cuba on the Mariel Boatlift, and had been sponsored to live with people here in the Bay Area while they got their on their feet and started their new lives after living for months sleeping on the floor in a holding facility in Miami. One sponsor was a friend of mine and I knew friends of his who’d also sponsored men. I once asked my friend’s sponsee Ramón how it had happened that he got on a boat out of Cuba. Here’s my recollection of what he told me. He and his tight knit group of friends had heard from another friend who’d excitedly told them (no public announcement was made) that if they were at Mariel Harbor early the next morning and could prove they were gay they’d be allowed out. Fidel wanted to rid his nation of as many homosexuals as he could, and they’d had enough of Cuba, so this group of lifelong friends who’d never lived as openly gay in order not to incur serious repercussions and persecution, had always kept it on the down low and were only accustomed to passing through life as straight men in straight society as well as they could with the possible exception of among family and close friends. They were socially acceptable, and accepted. Ramón who was long, lean, and the most gorgeous hunk of beautiful manflesh I ever saw was very popular with women. But Fidel didn’t care about gay men who appeared like everyone else, Fidel just didn’t want swishy gay men in Cuba. The group decided their course of action, and they borrowed makeup, lip color, eye shadow, paint, whatever they could get, and practiced applying it. They gathered together a few risque articles of clothing, each of them helping to create ensembles like they’d never worn or thought about wearing before, and were not likely to ever wear again. They had to be careful not to make themselves look too outlandish so as to be unbelievable, yet maintaining just the right balance of jaunty gay effervescence. They separated and bid their farewells to a very select few loved ones, and meeting back up, set out for the harbor. When they arrived at the harbor there was a large number of people converging on the docks. There were armed military men all around them as they joined a long line of like minded individuals. The line moved very slowly, but move it did. Hour by hour, for 5 1/2 hours they stood waiting in the sun. The men (I don’t think there were women, but I could be wrong) were vetted one by one by a single official sitting at a table, with two large armed soldiers standing to either side of him. The closer they got the more anxious and nervous they became, and they worked at keeping steady calm demeanors while discreetly rehearsing how they would speak and act while not attracting the attention of the guards in this, the performance of their lives. They watched as many men before them who were not able to convince the officer of their gayness were turned away in disappointment. When it finally was time for Ramón and each of his friends to have their turn in front of the official, they answered his questions with the best vivacious, effeminate mannerisms, and coy lilting voices they could muster. One before the next, each of their small group was waved onward to await their turn to board a boat. They had all pulled it off, and were on their way to a new life of freedom.

Silva August 8, 2018 at 7:46 PM

Oh yeah, one more thing! They were the very last people to be allowed through! Everyone in the line after them had to go home.

Silva August 8, 2018 at 8:28 PM

Here’s a short article with a few facts related to your post, Lena, but a little fore warning, I tried to quote the relevant part of the article, and it was taken down, maybe it was because of the “Q” word.

Wow! That’s quite a story Silva…. So.. you said “Ramón who was long lean, and the most gorgeous hunk of beautiful manflesh I ever saw”

Is that so? Lol! and he was playing for the other team? You poor kid!

Silva August 8, 2018 at 9:47 PM

I’m telling you!

slagheap August 6, 2018 at 2:52 PM

as i type, rick gates has just finished calmly, methodically, damning paul manafort to a long prison sentence. the options are few: a plea bargain for a reduced sentence, or a pardon from POTUS. the latter seems more and more unlikely as the overwhelming amount of evidence mounts, given that trump may have tax fraud and money laundering charges in his future – who knows?
all the same, anything is possible. pass the popcorn. no butter, no salt.

Elwood August 7, 2018 at 5:08 PM

Slagheap:

Don’t forget to tune in for the cross examination.

Gates has a very interesting history of his own.

AlwaysBePositive August 7, 2018 at 9:00 AM

djt is a blockhead (maybe that is why his coif is particularly cubelike these days). Let me use just one example. He recently said, “California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren’t allowing massive amount of readily available water to be properly utilized.” That is a lie. How dare he lie about something that is currently killing people.

Many people, including posters on this thread talk about how climate change has always occurred. That is true. The unsaid falsehood in that statement is that climate change has always occurred in geologic time, now it is taking place in calendar time.

It is ridiculous for us to argue with the 3% group of scientists that question man’s impact on climate change. Let that 3% argue with the 3% of scientists at the other end of the scale. That most pessimistic 3% believes we are already too late and that life as we know it on Earth is over, everything will be different in 100 years…not extinct, different.

‘Feedback loops’ is an idea that certain climate change processes go on without any additional human input. A common one is the melting of Arctic ice. Arctic ice reflects sunshine and doesn’t absorb heat as well as sea water. So, as ice melts because the water is warmer, more ice disappears-the water warms a bit more more ice melts and so on.

Here are two additional loops that I just learned about. (1) Warm water, on a molecular level, takes up incrementally more space than cool water. As the oceans warm, more land ice melting into the oceans will cause sea level rise, but the increasing temperature of the water will make it take up more space (rise) and any guesses as to the end amount of increase are just that …guesses. (2) Soil is filled with microbes and bacteria that break down organic material (releasing carbon dioxide). As the soil warms, those digesters become more active for longer periods of time, releasing more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which helps to warm the soil, which causes the digesters to become even more active…and so on.

It is not just CA that is burning. In July, there were 50 different wildfires burning in Sweden. The smoke from more than 800,000 acres of burning tundra in Siberia is reaching Washington State right now. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Russians (those noted environmentalists) are seeding clouds with chemicals to create rain to fight the fires, and residues of those chemicals are being distributed around the world.

With no proof other than what my lying eyes and ears are telling me, is there any explanation for djt’s actions regarding fossil fuels other than personal investment in his own and his friends wealth?

HappyPappy August 7, 2018 at 10:21 AM

Where Does the Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?
Professor Ian Plimer could not have said it better!
If you’ve read his book you will agree; this is a good summary.

PLIMER: “Okay, here’s the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland .
Since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet – all of you.

Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress – it’s that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life.

I know….it’s very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids “The Green Revolution” science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs….. well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days.

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth’s atmosphere in just four days – yes, FOUR DAYS – by that volcano in Iceland which has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time – EVERY DAY.

I don’t really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt. Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.

Yes, folks, Mt. Pinatubo was active for over one year – think about it.

Of course, I shouldn’t spoil this ‘touchy-feely tree-hugging’ moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.

And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.

Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the bogus ‘human-caused’ climate-change scenario.

Hey, isn’t it interesting how they don’t mention ‘Global Warming’ anymore, but just “Climate Change” – you know why?

It’s because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull**** artists got caught with their pants down.
And, just keep in mind that you might yet be stuck with an Emissions Trading Scheme – that whopping new tax – imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer.

It won’t stop any volcanoes from erupting, that’s for sure.”

Me again: As I’ve stated previously; ‘humans are a plague species and the earth will survive, in spite of us.”

Fred P. August 7, 2018 at 10:52 AM

C’mon, abp…

No personal insults about Trump (“blockhead”). I’ve stopped insulting the liberals. You personally took others to task for ad hominem attacks; now how about you doing the same?

HappyPappy didn’t even mention the volcanic eruptions in Hawai’i (Pu‘u ‘Ō‘ō , Halema‘uma‘u and the East Rift Zone in lower Puna)?

Speaking of “personal wealth”… how much has Al Gore been collecting off the carbon fees? Not to mention his hypocrisy in preaching on reducing the “carbon footprint” as he flies about in his personal jet when not in his mansion that has an exorbitant utility bill?

AlwaysBePositive August 8, 2018 at 9:05 AM

I’ve been thinking about my blanket condemnation of Russian environmentalists. While that area of the world is renowned for its’ horrible environmental history, I was wrong to make that blanket statement. They have also set aside more than 16,000 square miles (granted it is mostly above the Arctic Circle) as protected wildlife area, with almost total restriction of human access. Added nothing, took away nothing…just nature. It may be the way that the Siberian Tiger is saved from extinction.

Carbon is a building block of our existence. We are, in fact, a carbon-based life form. We also breathe air, but if you dramatically increase the amount of oxygen in that air…we are all dead. Carbon is not being created by man, man is releasing more stored carbon into our system than the system evolved to process at one time.

Lena August 9, 2018 at 6:18 AM

Having worked with some of the nation’s leading scientists, I can tell you that they do not agree that there is such a phenomenon as global warming (currently being called “climate change” in order to hedge liberal bets because it is an even more vague and easy to grasp concept). Who can really argue that climate does not change?

We must remember that liberals are very childlike individuals and will easily accept any narrative presented to them in a movie, particularly by one of their own who revived his failng career after he was thoroughly disgraced by his boss’s inappropriate use of a cigar, and had absolutely nothing to say publically about it leaving people with morals rather perplexed as to his own motives.

“An Inconvenient Truth” drew on the work of a fringe group trying to make a name for themselves to put Al Gore back in the running as the simple-minded politician he really is and as one who lives in a 10,000 square foot house and flies by private jet everywhere he goes because he is so worried about the Polar Bears.

Just as white liberals en masse ran out and adopted black children after Hollywood belched out “Blindsided,” or liberals are enthralled with the obscurity of “paying it forward,” the impressionable get their ideas from movies and television and are easily manupulated into behaving like good little citizens who have no innate moral beacons of their own. They simply accept what their handlers tell them and build their lives around the lies and fabrications never having to seriously examine the reality of a given situation or think for themselves. After all, it’s easier that way, and if we’ve learned anything from Obama and antifa it is that for them the shortest distance between two points is a straight line whether or not it’s where they wanted to go.

Didn’t Trump say he only hires the best people, yes fellow crooks and liars. Didn’t he say he was going to clean the swamp. Yeah and add a cesspool! Didn’t he say Mexico would pay for the wall,

Trump has repeatedly called Meuller’s investigation a ‘witch hunt’ but it has resulted in 191 charges and indictments against 32 people — including 4 members of Trump’s campaign, one of whom is Paul Manafort – and 3 companies

This is only the financial crimes part. There will be lots of links to Trump in the future and the next trial for conspiracy.

Get your popcorn ready folks tomorrow brings more truth.

Lena August 7, 2018 at 6:44 PM

“There will be lots of links to Trump in the future and the next trial for conspiracy.” You’ve been saying thus for over a year now, Randy, and nothing turns up. You only have another six and a half years to go. That’s a lot of popcorn!

Fred P. August 9, 2018 at 8:38 PM

Randy…. nothing happens yesterday.. What happened to “more truth” you claimed would come out?

Your forecasts are just like aspirin’s….

Wait a minute….naaaahhh.

No wonder they sound so similar.

Another Nice Little Democrat Scandal Ignored –
Let’s play make believe and pretend that some Republican senator had employed a Russian spy for two decades. Imagine further that this Republican was married to a spouse who had made a fortune investing in Russia. Do you think that news would get wall-to-wall coverage on CNN, MSNBC, or any of the other television news operations?
But with very little media attention, Princess Dianne Feinstein of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, with access to the highest-level secrets – employed for two decades a spy who reported to China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS). When the news was first made public and buried by the compromised media hardly anyone noticed.
Why is it that you nice democrats choose to ignore this kind of corruption in your party?

Justifiable anger August 8, 2018 at 7:08 AM

This story about Diane Feinsteins connection to international crime and collusion came out last week. It’s HUGE. Is this the only post mentioning it?

The double standard is clearly represented. The media propagandists are covering up the story.

Aspirin August 8, 2018 at 7:38 AM

Perhaps the “spy” was used to funnel fake info to the Chinese.
Smart move on Feinstein’s part.
You need to watch more spy movies.

HappyPappy August 8, 2018 at 9:31 AM

Poor Aspirin, nothing constructive to add to the dialog but still obsessively compelled to butt in. Sad really. She’s becoming more like Randy.
Wait………you don’t think………naw……….besides, the mayor has rules against cheaters.
Oh well, still fun and entertaining to play here.

Fred P. August 9, 2018 at 12:14 PM

The left ignores their own failings while continuing to castigate those with whom they don’t agree.

And of course, that extends to the violence perpetrated by the far left… Not condemning the actions of the far left means they condone it. So the leftist posters here are no better than those committing vandalism, burglary, arson, etc….

Guess that just means they aren’t willing to face FACTS. And until they do own up to it, then anything they say is suspect.

HappyPappy August 8, 2018 at 9:38 AM

Another swamp dweller exposed. Off to the white collar farm with him.
Interesting how you want to hold the president responsible for the personal actions of Collins. Can you tell us how that works, ABP.
At the same could you tell us how the president could drain the swamp. You remember the swamp, right? It’s that cesspool we refer to as Congress.

Elwood August 8, 2018 at 3:58 PM

If you read Trump’s quote carefully, he is saying that there are “massive amounts of readily available water,” but it’s not being properly utilized.

CDF is agreeing with that, saying “We have plenty of water.”

In both cases, they’re saying there is plenty of water. However, the issue is whether it’s being properly utilized…..and CDF is NOT responding to that.

So how do you manage to conclude that it’s “more lies and ignorance?”

Randy August 8, 2018 at 10:32 AM

A South Carolina company plans to lay off almost all its workers — 126 people — because of the Trump administration’s tariffs.
Element Electronics, which assembles televisions, notified the state of the expected job cuts earlier this week. The company also plans to close its plant in the town of Winnsboro.

Fred P. August 8, 2018 at 11:22 AM

Yet there is a net gain of jobs – to the point where those 126 jobs lost are statistically insignificant.

Before you jump down my throat, understand that job losses are not good – but you should look at the entire picture. Have you considered the tariffs added by other countries?

Nunya August 8, 2018 at 4:56 PM

My congressman, Mark DeSaulnier, has no shame.

When I looked at my mail today I almost gagged. There was a slick card mailer from Marky Mark clearly labeled as paid for by public money.

One side had offers of help from Marky Mark. Fallen arches, psoriasis, immigration problems, you name it, Marky Mark wants to help you.

The other side is an embarrassing list of Marky Mark’s “accomplishments”.

Among other things, Marky Mark has stamped out the opioid drug problem and ensures that the sun will rise every morning.

Sickening! Am I the only one who finds it strange that this great load of steaming ordure arrives less than three months before the election?

Lena August 9, 2018 at 9:36 PM

I’d like to know where he got my address.

Also sick of him August 10, 2018 at 5:53 AM

I have been using You Tube. He has one of those pop up ads on how wonderful he is fighting the opioid epidemic. My question is why is he spending money for his campaign since we all know he is practically running unopposed. His opponent is so weak he is no threat. We are going to be stuck with DeSaulnier forever. Most Californian political offices are going to stay full of Democratic Party idiots for the rest of our lives. The party controls the hand outs, the state employees, the propaganda mills (schools, Hollywood, and news outlets).

AlwaysBePositive August 10, 2018 at 10:38 AM

l…Are you registered to vote?
asoh…Those ads are placed by the American Action Network, a center-right advocacy group. Rep. D is working across the aisle to help control the opiod epidemic. You are against that?

Lena August 10, 2018 at 4:10 PM

Because of his childish participation in the Democrat’s sit in, their rude behavior during the President’s State of the Union Address, his bad-mouthing the President and refusing to work with him, and because I wouldn’t vote for a Democrat if they were the last candidate on the planet, I refuse to vote for DeSaulnier. His opponent, a Republican, has been labeled a “holocaust denier” in an attempt to undermine his run, and I’m not buying it. I read his statement and it says nothing of the kind. DeSaulnier has done little if anything for his constituents since being elected and needs to go.

Nunya August 9, 2018 at 4:42 PM

abp-

Not sure why you make such a big deal about that, maybe it is both but it seems childish to even ask. Do you think those who died care which it is?

As to your other provocative question, Bill and Hillary should already be in jail if we all had equal protection under the law. Bill for rape and Hillary for violating the official secrets act. But that wasn’t your point was it. You wanted to attack the president. You wanted to jump on the liberal delusional bandwagon of he broke the law. Again just plain childish. But fine, I don’t expect either will be jailed but for very different reasons. Him because he isn’t guilty of any crime as it relates the witch hunt that is the Mueller investigation. However, yes we WILL see won’t we. DUH!

From the look on his face at the time of the attack, I would have thought he would have been charged with attempted murder. He meant to do significant damage “by any means necessary,” and we know how violent liberals get when you disagree with them. Glad he lost his job over it, at any rate.
