Democratic party of CA could well be in for an extremely rude awakening come NOvember.

“The decision by voters Tuesday to remove an Orange County state senator targeted for raising the state’s gas tax could be a harbinger for the fall campaign when critics of the tax hike push their repeal effort to the statewide ballot.

Sen. Josh Newman (D-Fullerton), who was midway through his four-year term, was recalled from office Tuesday by 59.5% of the voters in his district, which includes parts of Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.”

Mueller’s ‘witch hunt’ snags another witch

Earlier this week, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III filed court documents alleging that Manafort and an unnamed individual had tried to tamper with a potential witness in the case. Then, a superseding indictment: Manafort and a longtime aide, Konstantin Kilimnik, were each indicted on one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice and one count of obstruction of justice.

That brings the investigation by Mueller — derided regularly by President Trump as an unwarranted and unfair “witch hunt” — to a total of 20 individuals and three businesses that have either been indicted or admitted guilt and a total of 75 charges filed by the year-old probe.

Trump’s spent far more going to Mar-a-Lago alone than the Mueller probe has cost

Trump has been unusually secretive about his leisure time, generally refusing to admit that he spends much of it playing golf. This is probably partly because of the rhetoric he deployed on the campaign trail and before, when he excoriated Obama’s golfing and travel. Trump has already played more rounds of golf by our tally than Obama played in his first 39 months in office.

But the costs incurred from those trips are different. That’s public money being spent by the president — a drop in the federal budget bucket, yes, but not nothing. It’s more than, say, the cost of the Mueller investigation, probably several times over.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2018/06/01/trumps-spent-far-more-going-to-mar-a-lago-alone-than-the-mueller-probe-has-cost/

Chicken Little June 9, 2018 at 5:31 PM

If Democrats would spend less time keeping track of how many rounds of golf each President has played, and turn their energy toward trying to improve the country, they might have a chance to win the Presidency in 2020. Fortunately, all they care about is resisting Trump, which should ensure that we’ll have four more years of making America great again.

Lena June 10, 2018 at 8:03 AM

Trump’s vacations are little to ask considering he is serving the country for free … as in donating his salary. The Clintons took the money and White House furnishings and ran claiming they were broke. Don’t get me started on the Obama’s. Even Hawaii is rebelling.

I hear that liberal billionaire George Soros pays full time ‘bloggers’ who push the uber-left propaganda to hundreds of local community blogs far from where they live. The Rise of the Snowflake Conservative

Conservatives currently control every branch of the federal government, and yet they have never sounded so beleaguered in my lifetime. Elite cues still matter in American politics, and it is hard not to notice that the head of the Republican Party reacts like a toddler to any kind of setback. It seems hard not to conclude that conservative standard-bearers have become the real snowflakes in American politics.

” An ICE spokeswoman told Reuters five federal prisons will temporarily take in detainees awaiting civil immigration court hearings, including potential asylum seekers, with one prison in Victorville, California, preparing to house 1,000 people.

President Donald Trump has made his hard-line stance on immigration an integral part of his presidency and has promised to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border to stem the flow of migrants. He has also promised to keep immigrants targeted for deportation locked up “pending the outcome of their removal proceedings.” ”

I Don’t Need to ‘Understand’ Anyone Who Still Supports This President*

The United States government is now committing human rights atrocities within its own borders and against the most vulnerable people it can find. I don’t need to “understand,” much less take seriously, anyone who still supports this president* and his administration* because, if you do, you’ve taken the idea of America and run battery acid through its veins
https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a21239446/trump-separate-families-child-migrant-foster-homes/

Lena June 9, 2018 at 7:27 PM

Think again! Children are routinely taken away from parents who are unfit an entering the country with the intent to break the law would certainly qualify. Transporting a child under the circumstances most immigrants arrive at our borders is abhorrent and shows utter lack of responsibility or concern for the child. Again, they are being transported with the intent to break the law.

I agree.

Lena June 10, 2018 at 11:17 PM

I disagree and I’ve had first-hand experience with immigrants from all over the world. When they undertake the journey to immigrate illegally, they are putting their lives and the lives of their children in danger. The “asylum” you think they are seeking is a myth. I heard it from them myself. They all know they have to say they are being persecuted for some reason, usually religious, in order to enter.

You are citing liberal media and organizations that support this illegal immigration which are a large part of the problem. This is a sovereign nation. We have rigorous immigration laws that must be followed to enter the country. Otherwise, who would ever bother to do so. It is unfair to those who apply and go through the rigorous process to immigrate legally.

I’m sick of citing my pedigree on this damn thread, but my relatives founded this country and I’m part Native American, so you can put your “home of those terrified by foreigners” where the sun don’t shine.

New policy ‘unclogs’ immigration courts –

President Trump has been criticized for separating the children of illegal aliens from their parents. They are being separated because more illegals are being criminally prosecuted for crossing the border illegally, and children can’t accompany parents to jail.

There have been two subsidiary effects of this policy:

1. A veritable waterfall of crybaby stories in the liberal media about how illegal aliens, having brought children into the country while committing a criminal act, are upset that their children have been taken away from them, as if the parents are not the ones who put their children in this situation in the first place.

2. Illegals are more readily agreeing to deportation to be reunited with their children.

We read over and over how “clogged” the immigration courts are. Let’s hope this new policy will unclog them faster than Liquid-Plumr!

Naturally, the liberal media will portray this as cruelty in action. The liberal media don’t believe in enforcing criminal laws they don’t like, so here the federal government is evil and the crying illegal aliens are virtuous.

But whether they cry enough to make the Rio Grande overflow, the result is the same: they’re going home!

Thank you, President Trump!

Thank you, Attorney General Jeff Sessions!

Trump must answer for the deaths of thousands in Puerto Rico

For this is a group of so-called leaders who ran the most powerful government in the world while at least 1,400 – and more likely as many as 5,000 – of their own citizens died on their watch.

You wouldn’t know it by listening to them talk at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) headquarters this week. Donald Trump told Brock Long, Fema’s administrator, that he had done an awesome job presiding over a post-hurricane recovery that was so incompetent that several thousand Americans died from a lack of medicine, food, water and power.

President Trump Is What Happens After Republicans Spend Decades Rebranding Knowledge as Elitism and Ignorance as Bliss

‘I don’t think I have to prepare very much’ for the upcoming meeting with Kim Jong Un, Trump says. Here’s how we ended up with president who’s all gut, no knowledge.

Thursday morning, after hearing that Donald Trump got huffy with Justin Trudeau over Canada “burning down” the White House in the War of 1812, I sent out a tweet nothing that in fact we, the United States, invaded Canada during that war; we even burned down government buildings in Toronto (then called York). As usual, what Trump said to Trudeau was not only not the truth, but turned reality inside out and ran it through the pulverizer.

So laugh when Trump blurts out some historical whopper. God knows we all need to laugh. But remember too—the fact that a man that ignorant is our president is the culmination (I hope, anyway) of a long attack on truth set in motion four decades ago that persuaded millions of Americans that knowledge is slavery and ignorance is indeed bliss.

This morning djt said he’ll know “within a minute” if the summit in Singapore will be successful. I’d bet djt couldn’t spend a minute speaking about what NK wants from this meeting (in addition the recognition they have already received). Preparation? Which country’s leader would you bet a paycheck on knowing the answer to these two basic questions. How many American military personnel (including families) are in SK? How many people in Seoul would die no matter what military option America used to enforce our will on NK?

Hope for the best…

The truth about Social Security

Democrats moved Social Security funds from a private trust to a public fund so they could spend it.

Democrats started taxing Social Security payments

Democrats stopped tax deductions for Social Security payments

Democrats started giving Social Security to immigrants who had not paid into it

Lena June 9, 2018 at 7:16 PM

Democrats, Barrack Obama to be specific, were in office making policy decisions during three years when Social Security recipients did not receive a Cost Of Living Adjustment, unprecedented in the history of the Social Security Administration.

Peter June 10, 2018 at 10:23 PM

Mark, taxing social security payments began in 1984 after Reagan signed it into law in April 1983.Please do the research before shooting your mouth off with lies.

Fred P. June 12, 2018 at 10:50 AM

Peter – the Democrats held the majority in the House 62% to 38% (272/163), while the Republicans held the majority in the Senate 55/45.

So tell me – Dan Rostenkowski (D-Illinois) introduced HR-1900, which ultimately became Public Law 98-21….

Check into it – then you can “shoot your mouth off.” Don’t forget to tell the whole story – not just stuff that supports your own opinion.

Hey G, what about all the Republican money junkies who invested in these tech companies? I don’t think they invested in buggy whips. Maybe a total economic collapse would solve the problem because then none of the food companies would be able to afford such kiosks.

And a lot kids who thought that a tech degree was their ticket to success may not have a the actual creative talent to work in the field. Twenty years ago many successful tech innovators didn’t even have a college degree let alone a computer science one. They just had creative abilities which is something usually honed by liberal arts college.

mtzman June 10, 2018 at 5:06 PM

Without getting into the politics of it all, this was the impetus for development of Common Core. It started out as an initiative of business and state governors who recognized the need for a more robust educational program to train students to address and solve the problems that no one yet knows even exist. It also harkens back to the Space Race of the 1950s and 60s and infusion of science, math and engineering into school curriculum.

djt is actively working to dismantle a world order that America has led and directly benefited from for the last 70 years.

The treatment of historical allies compared to countries led by autocrats and even outright dictators (who are not interested in being ‘friends’ with America) is stunning.

djt talks about trade deficits and how they hurt American workers and businesses. This is true, but the number negatively impacted is relatively small. djt never talks about who it benefits, the American consumer. That number is huge…100% of Americans. America has a trade deficit for one primary reason, we like to pay less for everything. Americans are not willing to pay American workers a living wage. As a result? Excess imports.

HappyPappy June 12, 2018 at 4:23 PM

Tell me, who doesn’t like to pay less for anything.
Americans can do nothing internationally without the consent of Congress who make the laws. That’s why there is a trade deficit and that’s what affected wages. Congress!

You are out of date. Buying ‘foreign products’ doesn’t “shore up struggling governments”, it generates corporate profits. I support American workers and am happy to pay more for them. Most Americans are not. That is not a judgement, but the result of that national desire to save offshores American jobs.

Old saying . . . Workers don’t quit jobs, they Quit Bosses.

‘May 31, 2018
Chick-fil-A gives the left the ultimate smack-down, on wages’

” Chick-fil-A, the Christian-owned business assaulted and assailed and pariah-cized by the rabid left based on its owners’ commitment to family values, has destroyed one of the left’s most cherished myths. Instead of paying its workers minimum wage, as all evil businesses, especially Christian ones, supposedly do, it’s paying its workers a premium, giving them more than a little extra in their paychecks in a stunning rebuke to left-wing tropes about worker solidarity and the need for unions.

John Tamny at RealClearMarkets has the scoop on this:

That [Chick-fil-A owner Eric] Mason is raising worker pay well beyond California’s minimum wage is a reminder that pundits on the left are flying blind when they emote about stagnant wages. They could learn a lot from Mason. Mason sees very clearly what they don’t: low-wage workers are incredibly expensive.

Did you see the picture of Merkel and Trump being circulated by the left. If it were reversed, would you accuse him of bullying her.
Merkel is leaning forward with a stern face, hands on the table, and Trump sitting down. Why is she not being accused of bullying?
President Trump only wanted a complete removal of the trade barriers and a fair playing ground.
It is all about hating President Trump and the first family. Hypocrisy seems to be the Democrats’ and the leftist media’s middle name. They all deserve the middle finger!

Randy June 12, 2018 at 9:22 AM

Trump treated Kim like they were on a first date and was trying to secure a night in the sack. He’s got to take some etiquette classes to learn how normal people shake hands He wants to intimidate and take control by overpowering thereby establishing superiority. Macron got back at him in Canada and did to him what 45 does to others. Macron beat him to the punch and almost drew blood…….I’m still laughing about it.

Trump is in the hospitality industry. He knows how to make people feel happy, special, well cared for, catered to, and, ultimately, satisfied. He is a rare human being. He will advocate for US interests like no other President has in years past. We have him to thank for the remarkable turnaround in the economy, the glowing job numbers, reestablishing good relationships and respect with our allies, and making new ones. Some have been more difficult than others. In short, Trump is fulfilling his campaign promise to Make America Great Again.

Congratulations to President Trump for opening a door to diplomacy. My expectations from djt are so low I’m just glad we aren’t at war this morning. As to the actual agreement? There is nothing there. Winner? NK obviously. Did you see the NK flag standing alongside the American flag? NK has done nothing other than meet with djt to deserve that type of recognition.

Chicken Little June 12, 2018 at 10:28 AM

ABP, I wouldn’t call Kim Jong Un’s pledge to dismantle all his nuke facilities beginning immediately, “nothing”. So what if Trump pledged to stop conducting military exercises? It’s not like we can’t start them right back up if KJU doesn’t hold up his end of the bargain. Trump is a negotiator (and a pretty decent one, from what I’ve seen).

Fred P. June 12, 2018 at 10:36 AM

AlwaysBePositive June 12, 2018 at 12:34 PM

cl… I would call NK’s decision huge, if they hadn’t already agreed to do the same thing a number of times beginning in 1994. djt referred to the joint-military exercises as “war games”. That alone should show djt has zero qualifications to be America’s commander-in-chief. djt agreed to stop them for nothing (see previous fact) without even discussing it with our regional allies. How do you suppose Japan and South Korea feel about the cancellation? How about NK, China, and Russia?
fp…Really? djt said the Iran deal was the worst deal ever negotiated. He said it didn’t address conventional missiles, or state-sponsored terrorism. OK, where is that in this agreement?

Chicken Little June 12, 2018 at 2:19 PM

MAGA – Charitable giving is at a record high –

A report cited a robust stock market and a strong economy as major factors in the rise of the amount of charitable giving.
Charitable giving surged to a record high in 2017 as Americans gave more than $400 billion for the first time ever to a wide variety of organizations, according to a new report released Tuesday.

“The increase in giving in 2017 was generated in part by increases in the stock markets, as evidenced by the nearly 20% growth in the S&P 500,” said Amir Pasic, dean of the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Geeze, that Trump guy is really causing changes. MAGA

Problem has been allowing career politicians (presidents) to call the shots when dealing with North Korea. Then of course there was completely incompetent and inept community organizer, when all that was needed was a businessman and capitalist.

NO Pallets of cash needed.

Tune across liberal cable news channels then review what Democrat politicians and career liberal bureaucrats are saying about North Korea / America meeting.

Sounds like they are reading off same script.

Quickest way to a dictators heart, stroke the ego, appeal to their greed and show them how much better their life could be.

What better and faster way is there to ruin a communist dictatorship than capitalism ? ? ?

Took all of a hot second when USSR collapsed for those in positions of authority and their close friends to embrace capitalism and become super wealthy.

More than anything, life long liberal politicians are probably immensely jealous of the great wealth North Korea’ leadership are about to gain. To have that much money and absolute control is a progressive liberal career politician’s wet dream.

After all Democratic party especially here in CA must believe all they need is unlimited money an power and they’ll be able to achieve their life long dream to make Communism work in CA.

An for those who want to bring up past atrocities and bad deeds of North Korea try this little experiment.

Roll up a newspaper then take it and a full grown pit bull into a small closed room and repeatedly hit it in the nose an face and see where that gets ya.

Most blatant attempt at gerrymandering in history of America has made it onto the NOvember ballot. Ballot measure to split CA into three states is nothing more than an attempt to ensure Democrat control of the United States Senate by the addition of four new Democrat seats.
This is an attempt to steal your country by progressive liberals.

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-california-split-three-states-20180612-story.html

They attempted to make this article disappear and failed, read carefully.
https://web.archive.org/web/20171204151808/http://thefederalistpapers.org/us/push-calexit-clears-first-hurdle-break-state-3-parts

Compare two maps, proposed new states and results of presidential election. ALL areas of Republican voters are negated by concentrations of urban Democrat voters.

Would not be surprised to see well over $180 Million spent just on TV advertising.

IF passed look for US Supreme Court to call this exactly what it is gerrymandering and they will negate the election.

Fred P. June 13, 2018 at 10:52 AM

The perfect solution to the splitting of California…….

1. One state to consist of LA County, SF County and Sacramento County.
2. One state to consist of everything else.

AlwaysBePositive June 13, 2018 at 12:30 PM

og…I think that may be a bit of a kneejerk reaction. In terms of gerrymandering, Congressional districts could be redrawn in the new states, but the three states total Congressional Representatives wouldn’t change. There would be 4 more senators, but only North California would be a Democratic slam dunk. California and South California could be toss-ups. Anything that increases our representation in Congress is good for CA. Last I checked, it took about 80,000 Wyoming voters to generate one electoral vote, while it takes about 750,000 California voters.

AlwaysBePositive June 13, 2018 at 6:48 PM

Sorry, those figures are wrong. Currently, CA has just under 40 million people and 55 electoral votes (1 electoral vote for approximately every 723,000 Californians). Wyoming has 3 electoral votes and about 580,000 people (1 electoral vote for approximately every 191,000 Wyomians).

So, for everyone threatening to leave CA, consider moving to Wyoming and increasing the power of your vote!

It would be easier just to elect a better governor. Maybe some one with respect towards the tax paying citizen for starters.

This governor can start with slashing the compensation of government managers and pensioners making more than $250,000.00. Then stop the catch and release programs for criminals. The money laundering of tax money’s also need looking into. I just can’t believe we NEVER have enough money for schools, right of way, maintenance.

HappyPappy June 14, 2018 at 2:39 PM

Did you conveniently miss this, Aspirin –
FBI agent Peter Strzok texted a fellow bureau official in August 2016 that “we’ll stop” Donald Trump from becoming president, the Justice Department inspector general reportedly reveals in his highly anticipated report on the Hillary Clinton email case.

The Washington Post reported that Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report includes an August 2016 text message exchange between Strzok and then-FBI lawyer Lisa Page about Trump’s chance of being elected president.

“[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!” Page texted Strzok.

“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok responded.

Horowitz’s review months ago revealed other anti-Trump texts between the two officials, who were romantically involved. The “stop” Trump text goes further, and is likely to fuel claims from the White House that the bureau was working against him.

Forsythe June 14, 2018 at 3:13 PM

IG Report Very Bad Report for the FBI
https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/ig-report-bad-for-fbi/

On page 420-421:

We were deeply troubled by text messages sent by Strzok and Page that potentially indicated or created the appearance that investigative decisions were impacted by bias or improper considerations.

COMMENTS
. . . when one senior FBI official, Strzok, who was helping to lead the Russia investigation at the time, conveys in a text message to another senior FBI official, Page, that “we’ll stop” candidate Trump from being elected — after other extensive text messages between the two disparaging candidate Trump — it is not only indicative of a biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the Department of Justice.

This is not a good report for the FBI or the team around Comey in the autumn of 2016.

HappyPappy June 14, 2018 at 7:04 PM

July 5, 2016 – FBI announces no charges against Hillary. Liberals: “What a fine, upstanding leader we have in Comey”

October 16, 2016 – FBI announces re-opening of Hillary investigation in the face of new evidence. Liberals: “Comey is evil. He should be investigated for election tampering”

Poor little imbecile. You libs put him through quite the tornado.

In the DNC’s never-ending effort to divide America and buy black votes by stealing from all taxpayers, including black ones, the panicking Democrats are reviving their call for reparations for slavery. After all, with black folks waking up to the fact that Democrats have done and are doing nothing for them, a new bribe appears to be necessary.

Given that there are no living Americans who were slaves or who owned slaves, it’s clear that the idea of reparations has nothing to do with justice or concern for blacks; it’s just another political effort to bribe voters with other people’s money.

What about the Irish, Italians, Jews, Chinese, Japanese, Arabs, and everybody else who has been treated badly. When will the DNC try to buy them as well?

Maybe Aspirin knows the answer to this one too. I hope so cuz’ the country could use some guidance on this.
