House of Sake, located at 313 N. Civic Dr. in Walnut Creek, was closed this week by the Contra Costa County health department after inspectors found cockroaches inside the restaurant, according to the inspection report provided to Claycord.com.

The health department says they received a complaint from a customer who claims to have seen a cockroach inside the restaurant while they were eating.

Upon inspection, the health department found ‘8+ live cockroaches on the floor underneath the mechanical dishwasher in the back kitchen, 1 dead nymph cockroach on the floor underneath the mechanical dishwasher, and observed different life cycles of cockroaches (i.e. nymphs & juveniles)’

It’s about time. When I moved here from San Francisco, 20 years ago, we visited this restaurant, I was given the soda with ants, floating on top of it. And they charged me for the soda.
