Russia Worked to Help Donald Trump in 2016 Election, Senate Intelligence Committee Says

The Senate intelligence committee says it agrees with a 2017 assessment by intelligence agencies that Russia intervened in the presidential election earlier to hurt the candidacy of Democrat Hillary Clinton and to help Donald Trump.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr said in a statement Wednesday that his staff has spent 14 months “reviewing the sources, tradecraft, and analytic work, and we see no reason to dispute the conclusions.”

Oh give it a rest!
I’m so tired about hearing this supposed Russian collusion with no proof what so ever even after year of thorough investigation!
we are so happy that Trump is president because we’re doing better than we have in years, thanks to his stimulating the economy and the tax breaks!

Badge1104 May 18, 2018 at 10:11 PM

Oh give it a rest!
a year of Investigation has turned up nothing!
We love what Trump is doing! and we personally are doing better than we have in 10 years in our family because of him.

Doh May 18, 2018 at 10:56 PM

Badge1104- You love what Trump is doing? What, like screwing up everything he touches, alienating our allies, helping that Chinese cell-phone company while they approve $1.2 billion investment in his Indonesian venture, pulling out of all our agreements without naming 1 accurate thing as to why, the tax cuts for the wealthy and big business? His new slogan are Breaking American Promises Again. and Making America Alone

AlwaysBePositive May 19, 2018 at 8:14 AM

b…Watergate investigation-2 years, Whitewater investigation-4 years, Benghazi investigation-3 years. Check economic growth facts-the economy continues to improve at essentially the same rate is has been for the last 6 years. Tax breaks-enjoy the small increase in your take home pay now, because adding $1.5 trillion in fiscal stimulus to a growing economy is recessionary at best, greedy at worst. Inflation is coming, and it is going to eat up your tax break and more.

Don Jr. met with the Russians at Trump Tower and 36 minutes later Trump tweets about “Hillary’s missing emails” for the very first time. US intelligence didn’t know about the Wikileaks emails at that point.

I’m sorry that Hannity and Tucker are spinning the crap about of the story.

So go ahead and tell me how Trump won the election and Retuers/AP/Times/WSJ reporters who have been injured in warzones are full of crap, while Hannity and Tucker are the true journalists.

Nunya May 20, 2018 at 6:45 AM

What even is the definition of collusion? Other than the Democrats being butt hurt that they lost.

covfee May 20, 2018 at 2:57 PM

The investigations of collusion have (so far) brought charges against nineteen people, three companies, and received five guilty pleas. While proving that Trump personally committed collusion is an uphill battle, proving that he committed obstruction of justice will be much easier. While I don’t know if he intended to break the law or not, it appears that he surrounded himself with people who did.

Justice Department and F.B.I. Are Investigating Cambridge Analytica

The Justice Department and the F.B.I. are investigating Cambridge Analytica, the now-defunct political data firm, and have sought to question former employees and banks that handled its business, according to an American official and other people familiar with the inquiry.

Prosecutors have questioned potential witnesses in recent weeks, telling them that there is an open investigation into Cambridge Analytica — which worked on President Trump’s election and other Republican campaigns in 2016.

Funny, our neighbors just came back from their second international trip in a year and they were reporting that everywhere they went that the foreigners thought very well of Trump and had new respect of America as a strong force for peace in the world. They felt safer. this is the opposite of what are liberal media tries to report

What is said in the media should always be taken with a grain of salt.

A fair and reasonable question:
Based on my reading several of your comments over the last couple weeks, I’m wondering if you’re proud of your factual confusions?

Miller May 19, 2018 at 12:31 PM

I’ve been to Jerusalem since the embassy move announcement.

You’ll see bumper stickers and banners showing Trump support, but those are from the ultra-orthodox population (big hats and sideburns crowd). It may like Israel supports Trump, but in reality it’s the ultra-orthodox that turn up the polls with nearly 100% voter turnout.

To put that into perspective, if “Did Not Vote” was a candidate in the 2016 US election, they would’ve won 471 electoral votes. Trump would’ve had 16.

Elwood May 19, 2018 at 2:05 PM

Randy, don’t keep us in suspense!

Tell us about YOUR trip to Israel!

Miller May 19, 2018 at 4:45 PM

I’m saying a big chunk of those “Did Not Vote” were thanks to people thinking Hillary had a 99% chance at winning. Dems really didn’t show up because it seemed pointless. Oops.

Let’s not forget Trump either. This is a real quote from your Republican president.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/donald-trump-sentence/

“Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart—you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you’re a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.”

Silva May 19, 2018 at 6:35 PM

It’s a classic. But there is so much more.

Lena May 19, 2018 at 8:31 PM

Isn’t it wonderful that in this great nation of ours a man like Donald Trump, with what at times appears to be ADHD, can grow up to be President of the United States? Reminds me of Roosevelt who kept his disability hidden for quite some time, but ultimately emerged as one of the nation’s greatest leaders taking us through some of our darkest hours.

Miller May 19, 2018 at 11:08 PM

Yeah, I think the difference was Roosevelt’s disability was physical. Trump’s disability is his brain.

Lena May 20, 2018 at 10:07 PM

Donald Trump has emerged as the loveable “Charlie Brown” of Presidents accomplishing more for the country in one year than others have done in eight, while the Ninth Circuit Court and certain other grouchy members of the GOP acting like Lucy snatching the football at the last minute as he runs to kick.

Dr Jellyfinger May 21, 2018 at 8:16 AM

Dimitrios Pagourtzis, the 17-year-old who shot up Santa Fe High School in Texas on Friday, was an ardent Trump fan who had neo-Nazi imagery all over his social media pages.”

And when the NRA/Republican spin is finished, Trump’s base will believe to their bone marrow that the kid was a card carrying Liberal that carried out the plan, devised by Obama & Clinton, paid for by George Soros.

Sick of it May 19, 2018 at 4:20 PM

Why are you so afraid of the NRA besides the fact that the left tells you they are evil? The ignorance amazes me. Why don’t you really learn what it’s about. They offer the best safety training around for the use and storage of firearms. They back competitive shooters that represent us in the olympics. They protect the 2A from the politicians that would love that last safety barrier that was placed by our founding fathers to protect us from them. We fought the war of independence to free our selves from a overbearing tax hungry government. Pretty much what the left is becoming. ( Espeacialy here in CA ). Here is what’s written about NRA membership numbers.

A 2017 Pew Research Center Study found that more than 14 million Americans consider themselves NRA members, above the real membership number of 5 million. This may be attributed to the fact that the NRA has millions more of Americans who support them and will tell pollsters they are members, even when they are not.

That’s a good size number of people that do not create any issues.

Dr Jellyfinger May 19, 2018 at 4:31 PM

So Randy … you want to compare crazies?
Liberal vs Conservative?
Really? And dead kids for your political propaganda?
Classy…. Liberal thing to do.

Rollo Tomasi May 20, 2018 at 11:44 AM

The left needs boogey men like Trump and the NRA. Otherwise their whining would be even more devoid of purpose.

Nunya May 20, 2018 at 12:21 PM

Liberals only believe what their leaders tell them. They are unable to think critically or make rational decisions based on the facts, those pesky things that don’t fit into the liberal narrative.

Funny, I think that is how fascism got started?

Chicken Little May 21, 2018 at 5:41 PM

Aspirin, what do you expect the NRA to do about it? They are a gun rights advocacy group, not a gun control advocacy group. There are plenty of well-funded groups trying to ban guns. What have they done to stop the carnage?

Rollo Tomasi May 25, 2018 at 7:52 AM

Aspirin, lookup the Fix NICS bill and see that the NRA supports it. Or are you too intellectually dishonest to do that?

Justyfiable Anger May 25, 2018 at 8:16 AM

Rollo Tomasi: BINGO. ” Or are you too intellectually dishonest to do that?”

After more than a decade of reading comments of a Political Science stripe, I finally figured that one out. The rat is in the nest. Has been for almost 20 years.

Rollo Tomasi May 25, 2018 at 5:58 PM

Crickets from Aspirin. So predictable.

Chicken Little May 19, 2018 at 4:01 PM

Miller May 19, 2018 at 11:42 PM

If you read the actual report and not just your right-wing blog post:

4 of 50 were stopped by armed civilians
4 of 50 were stopped by unarmed civilians.
Most of the shootings occurred in Texas, one of the friendliest NRA states.

And they go into quite a bit of detail on the Dallas shooter….clearly people don’t need to spend $20,000 on a pre 1986 automatic when someone with a semi-auto AK needs to be neutralized using a bomb-carrying robot, when the entire police force knows his position.

Really impressive spin though from your source article. It was almost convincing until I realized they didn’t actually read the FBI report.

#NoMoreDemocratsPleaseThisStateNeedsABrake

covfee May 20, 2018 at 9:53 AM

“[A]lmost doubled it, 40% increase.” You might want to check your math. As a person who is driving on newly repaired roads, I am happy to see the funds raised being used immediately on their intended purpose.
Would you, as an opponent of having long-needed repairs and improvements done, swear an affirmation that you will never complain about road conditions or traffic?

Nunya May 20, 2018 at 12:53 PM

I didn’t put words in your mouth, I appreciate the same courtesy unless the Democrat’s narrative has driven you so crazy as to be discourteous to anyone who doesn’t parrot the narrative.

As to your question, childish as it is. My point is that we all pay too much taxes already. Why do we need to pay more. Then again liberals hate themselves and love to suffer, so please pay more taxes for the road work we have all paid for not gotten.

P.S. Check your own math, maybe this new math you learned in school isn’t so good after all.

covfee May 20, 2018 at 2:27 PM

Even while asking for courtesy, you can’t help throwing in ad hominem attacks. The increase in gasoline excise tax was $0.12 per gallon, making total excise tax $0.473. Combined with the sales tax and underground storage fees, the state is only collecting $0.583 per gallon. In most arithmetic systems, ~100% != 40%.

I argue that we are not taxed enough, which is why we have deficits.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/americans-arent-taxed-enough/2017/11/08/88d4cf1c-c4b3-11e7-aae0-cb18a8c29c65_story.html?utm_term=.0dad0ad1de6a
https://www.economist.com/united-states/2017/11/23/american-taxes-are-unusually-progressive.-government-spending-is-not

If you are opposed to the increased taxes, then how do you propose we pay for repairs and expansion of our infrastructure? I would offer conversion of all existing freeways into paid turnpikes, but I doubt that it would decrease the cost to the user overall.

Dr Jellyfinger May 20, 2018 at 4:04 PM

” I am happy to see the funds raised being used immediately on their intended purpose”

I will presume that Aspirin is talking about having an analysis as to how we can reform the current electoral college system to be more equally weighted for all Americans. The current system disproportionately counts rural voters over urban voters, and doesn’t count abroad citizens at all. Some states have already formed a coalition to link their popular vote outcomes to bloc electoral votes as a stopgap, but it remains to be seen how this will play out.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2016/11/17/the-electoral-college-badly-distorts-the-vote-and-its-going-to-get-worse/?utm_term=.89ba29db7d7f

covfee May 20, 2018 at 2:42 PM

Fred – Can you explain what you mean by a “handful of cities” in regards to popular vote? The electoral college outcome has only been at odds with the popular vote four times in our history, two of those being during the last five presidential elections. Further, the majority of elections are decided by direct democracy, making some people question the necessity of an election system that intentionally disconnects votes from voters. Simply pointing to the Constitution isn’t really an argument, as it is a document that we can change if enough people desire so.

Original G May 20, 2018 at 4:51 PM

IF those so called elected public servants running this state had actually been serving the public, there would not be an infrastructure problem.

But getting back to infrastructure, it’s not like they’re spending “THEIR” money.

Nunya May 21, 2018 at 6:23 AM

Liberals like Covfee love to suffer, it is the only way they can save the Erfth. They don’t want facts because that doesn’t agree with the narrative they are told is the only truth. They just want to be told what to think.

Miller May 20, 2018 at 5:33 PM

All the parents of these school shooters would go back in time if they could be told “hey parents, your son clearly has issues and you have guns at home. If anything happens using your weapons, you’re both getting charged with felonies.” The parents would’ve been pissed by the implication, but I’d bet they’d think twice about keeping their guns randomly accessible throughout the house.

Maybe it’s a bummer if you can’t share your gun safe combo with your 17 year old, but if that law prevents 100 children from getting murdered 5 states over, then screw you and deal with it.

Rollo Tomasi May 22, 2018 at 11:33 AM

Rollo Tomasi May 20, 2018 at 6:47 PM

In 2008, the majority of voters in California voted against Proposition 8. In fact, it was defeated by a larger margin than Hillary’s popular vote win in 2016. Let’s continue to hang our hat on the popular vote.

There have been a few hilarious studies that concluded “people who watch no news at all can answer questions about current events better than people who solely watch Fox News.”

Fred P thinks “faulty reasoning” is when people disagree with him – and not when his shows cherrypick facts from current events that fit his favorite host’s narrative. If the network presents the complete facts without cherrypicking, Fred P will become uncomfortable, confused, and even angry, because he trusts Fox News will always be on his side. Fox News doesn’t want to betray Fred’s loyalty, so they tell him exactly what he wants to hear. They don’t want him to miss the Sleep Number commercial for the 5,000th time because Fox News sees Fred P as a couple pennies profit per day, and his viewership gives them a better pitch to the ad buyers at Nutrisystem. So no, Fox News isn’t going to tell Fred the truth when it’s going to make him uncomfortable. They’re going to keep him complacent to help News Corp’s bottom line.

Sorry Fred for using you as an example, that goes out to everyone here that tossing out faulty reasoning Fox News talking points.

So which version of the Constitution (none of which actually refer to an Electoral College by name) do you constitutional scholars wish to refer to? The original language in Article II, Section 1, Clause 3, the 12th Amendment of 1804, the 15th Amendment of 1870, or the 19th Amendment of 1920? Or do you need to refer to the delegation by the Constitution to Congress of various procedures (see 3 USC 1 et seq.) or to the states (in California see Elections Code sections 7100 et seq. [Democrats]; sections 7300 et seq [Republicans]).

Or, maybe just admit that Aspirin is not as ignorant as fp thinks he is …

Nunya May 21, 2018 at 6:39 AM

Unless you want to pay more in taxes please don’t vote for the Democrats. This state has suffered enough, don’t forget all the fee hikes on the bridge over the years, and now they want yet another one RM3. Don’t forget the gas tax increase, 40%!! When will the Democrats have enough money? We already have a $5B surplus and yet they just want more and more. I can’t afford to keep paying more, can you?

Sick of it May 21, 2018 at 11:14 AM

If there was truly a surplus then why raise taxes to pay for road projects. Keep Drinking the cool aid and believing the Democraps lies. They are fully destroying this state. And it’s is about to the point that it will not be salvagable at all if they remain in office. They want bridge tolls 3 dollars higher now too

Chicken Little May 21, 2018 at 12:09 PM

No, the $6 billion “surplus” merely indicates that other needs went unfunded so Moonbeam could have his “surplus”.

“Rep. Maxine Waters’ campaign committee has paid the California Democrat’s daughter nearly $50,000 this election cycle, with an additional $65,000 forthcoming, campaign finance documents show.

Disclosures with the Federal Election Commission show Karen Waters received $42,862 from Citizens for Waters through a series of nine payments made between May 2017 and January 2018. The most recent payment, of $5,000, was made Jan. 19, according to FEC filings.

The payments to the younger Waters were described as a “slate mailer management fee.

Additional filings with the FEC show Citizens for Waters will pay Karen an additional $65,000 this election cycle for “professional services” related to the mailer.

According to California’s Fair Political Practices Commission, a slate mailer is a mass mailing in support of or opposed to candidates or ballot initiatives.”

California Democrats are pushing for free healthcare for illegal aliens,

“State Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) is leading the charge by reportedly arguing that “California needs to be a laboratory for social change by taking the lead on progressive causes.”

“We are trying to address the fact that, whether you like it or not, our undocumented community needs the care, and we are paying for it anyway,” he reportedly said.

California Democrats are trying to extend the state’s Medi-Cal program this legislative session to nearly 1.2 million illegal immigrant adults who would qualify for it, and “companion bills in the state Assembly and Senate” have already “passed their respective health committees with party-line votes.”

The cost to expand Medicaid coverage to adult illegal immigrants in California is reportedly projected to cost $3 billion annually.

This is exactly what economists and analysts said would happen.

Harley-Davidson took its tax cut, closed a factory, and rewarded shareholders. In September 2017, House Speaker Paul Ryan traveled to a Harley-Davidson plant in Menominee Falls, Wisconsin, to tout the Republican tax bill, which President Trump would sign later that year. “Tax reform can put American manufacturers and American companies like Harley-Davidson on a much better footing to compete in the global economy and keep jobs here in America,” Ryan told workers and company leaders. Four months later and 500 miles away in Kansas City, Missouri, 800 workers at a Harley-Davidson factory were told they would lose their jobs when the plant closed its doors and shifted operations to a facility in York, Pennsylvania — a net loss of 350 jobs. Workers and union representatives say they didn’t see it coming. It wasn’t just Ryan who made promises to Harley-Davidson. Trump in February 2017 met with Harley-Davidson executives and union representatives at the White House. He thanked the company for building in America and predicted its operations would grow. “I think you’re going to even expand — I know your business is now doing very well, and there’s a lot of spirit right now in the country that you weren’t having so much in the last number of months that you have right now,” Trump said. He added that impending changes to “taxing policies,” health care, tariffs, and trade would only make things better. https://bit.ly/2x1heGW

HappyPappy May 22, 2018 at 2:26 PM

Silva,
HD failed because it’s products have fallen out of favor and aren’t selling. Their bikes reliability and cost failed to be competitive with the far better Japanese products.
Clearly that was caused by Trump, maybe even GWB, right?

covfee May 22, 2018 at 5:56 PM

Happy – The report isn’t that Harley Davidson failed, rather that the executives screwed their workers and payed their investors after getting their tax break. The tax deal was sold as beneficial to the average worker, but many are still waiting to see that come to fruition.

HappyPappy May 22, 2018 at 7:32 PM

HD is desperately trying to survive. If their products were selling better they would be expanding not closing down factories.

covfee May 22, 2018 at 8:55 PM

Happy – It’s understandable that HD has been struggling, maybe they would be in a better position if they chose to not spend $696M on dividends and stock buybacks.

HappyPappy May 23, 2018 at 8:28 AM

…….or maybe they made the smart business move and took the money and ran while they had the chance.

covfee May 23, 2018 at 9:18 AM

“We want to make it easier for business to create more jobs and more factories to be made in the U.S., and you’re a great example of that,” said Trump to HD executives and union leaders. At what point should we consider an American company to no longer be considered domestic, and have all foreign penalties applied?

By “smart business move” I will presume that you mean for the benefit of the executives and investors. I am of the opposite opinion, the most important people in a company are the workers, followed by executives, and distantly the investors.

HappyPappy May 23, 2018 at 12:21 PM

Where business is concerned workers are merely tools needed to accomplish a task. In the end that task is to make a profit. No profit means no jobs.
You sound like a worker bee. They don’t get much of the honey. Those who take the risk should reap the profit.
You want more………….take the risk.

covfee May 23, 2018 at 4:21 PM

Happy – It’s quite sad if you feel that fellow human beings are simply tools to be discarded when no longer optimally profitable. This neo-liberal capitalistic view is precisely what drove the globalization of markets, and eventually the rise of Trump as a populist who claimed he would put an end to it. You are correct that the interests of a business are profit and growth, which is exactly why they must be regulated from harming workers and the public. The only economically sustainable path forward is to reimplement Stakeholder Theory, either voluntarily or by regulation.

HappyPappy May 23, 2018 at 9:32 PM

That was a feeble attempt to redirect the dialog.

Elwood May 23, 2018 at 11:30 PM

“the most important people in a company are the workers, followed by executives, and distantly the investors.”

You’ve got it exactly backwards.

Without investors there’d be no companies. Have you been smoking Marxist weed? It’s never worked anywhere in history. What makes you think that the workers’ paradise you esteem might have changed?

covfee May 24, 2018 at 6:44 AM

Elwood – I think you are conflating investors with capital, which could be provided from other sources, including ones that don’t demand continual dividends. Neither the investors nor the executives build the product, thus they need the workers. A successful business is one in which the owners treat their workers and the customers as partners, ensuring long term stability and profit. This devotion to investors is the reason that the American Middle Class has been exsanguinated.

I will be interested to see if Trump feels personally slighted by this corporate decision, considering he refers to HD frequently, and decides to retaliate for their actions.

Elwood May 24, 2018 at 4:27 PM

Covfee:
please tell us more about this Capital which requires neither investors nor dividends.

Fans got it right and President Trump got it right too, But, but, but . . .

“The NFL Players’ Association (NFLPA) on Wednesday criticized the league for its new national anthem policy.

In a statement, the union said it would review the new policy and “challenge any aspect of it that is inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement.”

The union accused the league of contradicting its previous statements, and of ignoring players’ wishes in developing the new policy, which instructs that all team and league personnel should stand for the national anthem.

“The NFL chose to not consult the union in the development of this new ‘policy,’” the union said in a statement. “NFL players have shown their patriotism through their social activism, their community service, in support of our military and law enforcement and yes, through their protests to raise awareness about the issues they care about.” ”
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/389018-nfl-players-association-criticizes-new-league-policy-on-kneeling

Can you say out of touch with fans ?
Perhaps when team owners offer less money on player contracts because of revenue losses prima donna players might get the message.

Let the liberal sniveling commence.

covfee May 23, 2018 at 11:50 AM

Good for the players union standing up against the owners. This could be resolved quite simply: stop performing the national anthem at sports events. By eliminating the anthem recitation, no one is protesting, and we no longer are trying to enforce a tenuous connection between government and entertainment. The nationalists can be content that no one will show “disrespect” any longer, and the protestors can be content that they are not supporting the status quo.

Randy May 23, 2018 at 11:56 AM

It’s really does nothing. Very broad. Clearly the owners are willing to pay a fine rather than lose a game or player

Rollo Tomasi May 23, 2018 at 12:13 PM

Or the owners can continue to run their league as they see fit, and if players would rather be social justice warriors than get paid handsomely to play a professional sport, they are free to do that. Ain’t freedom grand?

How many Black NFL owners voted in support of this?
Yes I know… there isn’t any.

Lena May 23, 2018 at 9:10 PM

Rather than do away with the National Anthem at sports events, why don’t we just do away with football. Certainly, some of the most egotistical players anywhere, anytime, and some of the worst behaved without question. Who need them, really? Personally, I never liked football, too violent for me, but I totally checked out on football when the players started beating up people off the field.

AlwaysBePositive May 24, 2018 at 8:24 AM

Baseball ends in October, and basketball starts then so as much as I’ve been a niners fan in the past…I’m done with the NFL. In addition to the plantation mentality shown by owners in this issue, the brain damage issue is huge. I would guess that within the next five years we will see the elimination of minors playing hard-contact football. The liability issues will be too expensive for under-funded school districts. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the boxing model come into play for the NFL. Use them (the players) up and then spit them out. Come to think of it…that’s how they work now.

Go Warriors!

Rollo Tomasi May 24, 2018 at 5:43 PM

@ Susan I:

Question: Why should I allow you, or NFL players, or veterans or anybody else decide for me what is disrespectful? It reminds me of the situation where someone says “No offense, but” or “No disrespect intended, but” and sure enough, something disrespectful or offensive comes out of that individual’s pie hole.
Now, unlike the majority of liberals, I understand that I have no right to try and stop that individual from saying or doing whatever I find offensive. Indeed, I do what is in my power to do, which is express my opinion and move on. In the case of the NFL players, I stop consuming the product from which their riches and fame are drawn.

Randy,

The NFL is a business venture. Not a political platform.

Google “Kaepernick.” No job, no salary.

Why would any NFL team want the hassle?

Randy May 24, 2018 at 10:33 AM

You are right it’s business. But you’re ok with Ray Lewis playing after Lewis pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in connection with the stabbing deaths of two men in 2000. The following season, he won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year and led the Ravens’ record-setting defense to victory in Super Bowl XXXV.

Where are your values? Where was the outrage then. The flag thing is a manipulation of the low IQ voters.

Rollo Tomasi May 24, 2018 at 5:49 PM

Randy, you misunderstand the risk/reward concept. Ray Lewis is a scumbag, but his skills on the field outweighed the negatives of keeping him on the roster. Not so with Kaepernick. If you believe his skills outweigh his baggage, you know nothing about football. And the owners who supposedly claimed recently that Kaepernick has starting QB skills? Nothing but virtue signalling. If his skills were good enough, he’d have a job for exactly the same reasons Ray Lewis continued to play.

Randy May 24, 2018 at 7:43 PM

Rollo. And that’s the logic the NFL owners are taking with the national anthem. If Tom Brady takes a knee the owner will pay the fine and Brady will play. Can’t risk that win.

Rollo Tomasi May 25, 2018 at 7:50 AM

Randy, you’re finally catching on. The same would be true for Cam Newton and Ezekiel Elliot.

“Gov. Andrew Cuomo has issued conditional pardons restoring voting rights to more than 24,000 parolees — including cop killer Herman Bell, who was released from prison last month.

The pardons cover 24,086 ex-cons who are currently under parole supervision, the governor’s office said Tuesday.

Cuomo issued an executive order last month which gave him the authority to issue pardons so ex-cons could vote while on parole.”

Who from Obama administration will be the first sentenced to Federal Prison for SPY Gate ?

“A Democratic Watergate is unfolding before our eyes.

It’s no wonder Obama’s former CIA chief John Brennan is tweeting like a madman, attacking President Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Brennan’s running scared because it’s starting to look like he may have been a co-conspirator in the biggest political scandal since, well, Watergate.

Yesterday, Trump met with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to inquire if Brennan’s CIA and the FBI spied on his 2016 presidential campaign, as reported by The New York Times and other media last week.

If it’s confirmed that the Obama administration used U.S. intelligence agencies and the Justice Department to go after political opponents — to keep Democrats in power through a presidential election cycle — Attorney General Jeff Sessions should immediately un-recuse himself from the Russia “collusion” witch hunt, shut it down and open a criminal investigation into all parties involved.

And to think that Democrats and their puppets in media have been calling Trump the greatest threat to democracy all this time when their party may have been using authoritarian tactics against the leader of the opposition party and his associates.”

Aww how sad for Pelosi after she mocked President Trump and cackled about North Korea talks not happening.

Then this afternoon this,
“North Korea is willing to talk with the United States anytime, a senior North Korean diplomat said Friday, in response to Washington’s abrupt decision to pull out of a planned summit between the two countries.

North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan issued a statement carried by the North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). It came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a surprise decision to withdraw from his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un set for June 12. ”

Wonder if North Korean vice minister of foreign affairs who came unglued and trashed Pence will end up having an accident with an anti aircraft gun ???

An anti aircraft gun is a little more dramatic then being found dead at dawn in Fort Marcy Park, Virginia.

How often do politicians and unelected bureaucrats in CA consider long term effects of their spur of the moment knee jerk decisions ? ? ?

Hepatitis outbreak in San Diego began November 2016.
An what transpired in months previous ? ? ?

2016
“In late April, homeless advocates discovered the city was installing jagged rocks under Interstate 5 at Imperial Avenue to discourage camping. The motivation seemed clear: Imperial leads straight to Petco Park, home of this year’s All-Star Game. The rocks, advocates argued, were part of a larger effort—similar to one in San Francisco before this year’s Super Bowl—to get homeless people out of the area.” …

“But a city spokesman told a different story. He said it was at the request of residents of Sherman Heights, a working-class neighborhood several blocks east of Petco Park.” …

“In fact, Sherman Heights is never mentioned in dozens of emails exchanged between city staffers discussing the rock installation. Rather, the rocks were part of a larger effort to clean up the area prior to the July 12 All-Star Game and improve the flow of traffic to and from Petco Park. Early plans, emails show, called for rocks not only along Imperial Avenue, but also along two blocks of a wall lining Petco Park’s Tailgate Park as well as outside the New Central Library, all in an effort to deter camping and loitering near the ballpark during All-Star Game festivities.”
