3-Alarm Fire Burning Near Martinez

A three-alarm fire is burning this evening in unincorporated Contra Costa County outside Martinez, a dispatcher with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.

The fire was reported at 6:34 p.m. in the 2400 block of Franklin Canyon Road.

At least three motor homes have burned, and one propane tank has exploded.

No other details were immediately available.

As of 8:20 pm, the fire is out and crews are in overhaul (checking for hot spots, extensions, etc.)

We saw it while driving back from going out to dinner. Honestly glad we were not driving by when the propane tank exploded. That would have scared the heck out of me!

That fire was very destructive! I am sorry for the loss people had to endure!
At least there was no loss of life of people or animals! No injuries either!
