Concord Police are searching for a missing man near Newhall Park.

A helicopter is also above searching for the man, who hasn’t been seen since yesterday. The police ‘pinged’ his phone, and it came back near the area of the park.

A description of the man hasn’t been provided.

A photo would be so great! I worry about it just being his phone though. That could mean many things.. praying for him to be located!

I’d like to know more about this police ability to “ping” phones.

They go through the cell phone provider. Depending upon circumstances, the provider can ask for a warrant before turning over information.

Say a family reports grandpa with dementia walks off vs finding a 14 yr old seen running from a misdemeanor vandalism report.

It always requires a warrant.
