Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Searching for Search and Rescue Volunteers

The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff is currently looking for Search and Rescue volunteers.

If you are interested in joining the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team in 2018, please join them for a New Member Orientation, which is held at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month from February to June, at 50 Glacier Drive, Martinez.

The upcoming dates are – April 5, May 3, and June 7

The orientation will last for approximately 60 minutes and will provide more information about CoCoSAR and how to join with the team. You must attend a New Member Orientation in order to pick up an application.

For those of you who already have an application, it must be turned in no later than Friday, July 9, 2018.

Don’t laugh, it can happen. Once had a boss who
was a member of Search and Rescue. He went
hunting in Montana. He got lost in bad weather
and when they found him he was sitting and
burning his paper money trying to stay warm.
My wife can burn through our money but that’s
a different story.
