A motorcyclist led police on a chase and was injured after a crash in Martinez on Saturday, Martinez police reported.

Police attempted to stop the driver for vehicle code violations at about 9:55 p.m. near Alhambra High School.

The suspect allegedly did not yield on Alhambra Avenue, but made a u-turn and fled north on the street.

Police began pursuing the suspect, but said they stopped the pursuit due to safety reasons when the person approached the downtown area of Martinez.

The suspect then continued north on Alhambra Avenue while running stop signs and speeding.

When the motorcycle neared the dead end of Alhambra Avenue and Buckley Street, police said the driver crashed after being unable to make a left turn.

The injured person was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

They said the person was likely intoxicated when the accident happened.

Police will not release the suspect’s identity because of an ongoing investigation for a DUI and felony evading.

Ha ha!
Why don’t people know that when a police officer wants to stop you, you stop. If it’s wrong ,you can have your day in court. But I guess if you’re a.thug on the Run you don’t want to be stopped. Good riddancei I say.

Bad choices make for good stories. If you get away then you have a good story for your buddies. If you get caught you still have a good story. What can go wrong?

I’m not sure I like this fool being transported to the hospital for care of his self-inflicted injuries. I think idiots like this should be required to get their own busted butt to the hospital and THEN the PD can arrest the (if they make it)..
