No. 3 Official at the Justice Department Is Stepping Down

Rachel L. Brand, the No. 3 official at the Justice Department, plans to step down after nine months on the job as the country’s top law enforcement agency has been under attack by President Trump, according to two people briefed on her decision.

Ms. Brand’s profile had risen in part because she is next in the line of succession behind the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, who is overseeing the special counsel’s inquiry into Russian influence in the 2016 election. Mr. Trump, who has called the investigation a witch hunt, has considered firing Mr. Rosenstein.

Such a move could have put her in charge of the special counsel and, by extension, left her in the cross hairs of the president.

Dr Jellyfinger February 9, 2018 at 8:28 PM

Or maybe she’s just worried about some things that might come to light about her….. when the swamp starts draining some of the frogs look for deeper water.

Badge1104 February 9, 2018 at 9:39 PM

You liberals are forever waiting for some “Russian connection” which, after a year of Investigation, has still not brought 1 oz of proof against the President. It’s actually digging up proof against Hillary and the Democrats with a little mix of some FBI agents.

Elwood February 9, 2018 at 9:44 PM

She’s taking a much better job with Walmart.

Rational people don’t believe anything they read in the New York Times.

LocaI February 9, 2018 at 10:34 PM

Here’s some info on that, Badge1104:

Bob Mueller’s Investigation is Larger—and Further Along—Than You Think

We speak about the “Mueller probe” as a single entity, but it’s important to understand that there are no fewer than five (known) separate investigations under the broad umbrella of the special counsel’s office—some threads of these investigations may overlap or intersect, some may be completely free-standing, and some potential targets may be part of multiple threads. But it’s important to understand the different “buckets” of Mueller’s probe.

D February 9, 2018 at 10:54 PM

I heard a theory that Trump bought Mueller, and has him digging up dirt on the Dems under the guise of investigating the Russia crap.

Elwood February 9, 2018 at 11:22 PM

Mueller’s crusade is properly called the lightning fast investigation of everyone for everything;

Aspirin February 10, 2018 at 7:18 AM

I am not surprised at the extent of the Mueller investigation.

Trump’s world is a cancer that has spread into many areas.

His promise to “drain the swamp” has been a lie. The opposite has happened.

NunYa February 11, 2018 at 3:15 AM

OK, I’ll ask. How has the opposite happened?

Aspirin February 13, 2018 at 8:20 AM

So far, Trump’s “draining the swamp” has been the firing of most of his own staff.

Silva February 16, 2018 at 11:36 AM

I fell the earth move under my feet! Woo Hoo! All ovah! All ovah! Well, soon, anyway.

LocaI February 9, 2018 at 7:12 PM

The Dow has now lost over 40 percent of what it added during Trump’s presidency

The Dow Jones industrial average fell more than a thousand points on Thursday. It wasn’t the largest single-day drop in history, but only because the drop on Monday was bigger. So, thanks to the big drop earlier in the week, Thursday’s was the second-biggest drop in history. This week has so far seen the second-biggest weekly drop in history, coming in slightly behind the week that ended on Oct. 10, 2008.

Badge1104 February 9, 2018 at 9:21 PM

even I’m surprised how all the investment experts and business channels are defending the correction in the stock market. It was just becoming overheated and it will climb back again. President Trump has done a wonderful job and the entire country is boomimg and will continue to do so!

Elwood February 9, 2018 at 9:51 PM

So the Dow has fallen from 26000 to 24000. Big whoop! It’s called a correction. Long overdue.

AlwaysBePositive February 10, 2018 at 8:14 AM

e, I agree with you. Can you explain why djt hasn’t tweeted about the market during its recent correction?

LocaI February 10, 2018 at 11:37 AM

AlwaysBePositive is right again, they don’t like reality to intervene:

Fox News interrupts coverage of Trump bragging about the economy to cover historic stock market drop

Fox News interrupted a live broadcast of a speech Trump delivered in Ohio on Monday to tout the tax cut bill to instead cover a historic drop in the Dow Jones industrial average.

Monday’s stock market losses come on the heels of the Dow dropping 666 points on Friday. Not coincidentally, Trump avoided any mention of the stock market during his speech in Ohio. Instead, he accused Democrats who didn’t applaud him during the State of the Union of treason, and bragged about how no players protested the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

Fred P. February 10, 2018 at 1:01 PM

Yet you didn’t recognize the vast increases since Trump took office.

Liberals .love to play fast and loose with facts.

Elwood February 10, 2018 at 2:58 PM

He’s not stupid.

We all talk about things which make us look good and have little if anything to say about things which don’t.

Fred P. February 9, 2018 at 7:40 PM

Aspirin claims that everyone wants to move to California….

Like everything else, aspirin doesn’t know squat.

Dr Jellyfinger February 9, 2018 at 9:17 PM

Fred…. he only meant everyone in Mexico.

AlwaysBePositive February 10, 2018 at 8:13 AM

fp…SF is a part of CA, not the state. Are you a part of the current administration? Cherry picking stats to use out of context seems to be a thing with both of you.

Aspirin February 13, 2018 at 8:24 AM

California real estate values tell the entire story. Tech industry, construction, medical, and service employment has been very high, attracting people from other states and resulting in housing scarcity.

If you don’t like it here, leave and make room for someone else.

NunYa February 9, 2018 at 8:02 PM

Hillary for prison 2018!

LocaI February 9, 2018 at 10:44 PM

Prison, NunYa???

Fake news sharing in US is a rightwing thing, says study

“On Twitter, a network of Trump supporters consumes the largest volume of junk news, and junk news is the largest proportion of news links they share,” the researchers concluded. On Facebook, the skew was even greater. There, “extreme hard right pages – distinct from Republican pages – share more junk news than all the other audiences put together.”

NunYa February 10, 2018 at 2:58 PM

Who said fake news? Not me.

She broke the law. Comerly said if anyone else had done what she did, they’d be in jail. Opps, sorry I know facts aren’t tolerable to liberals.

AlwaysBePositive February 10, 2018 at 8:17 PM

ny…In America we have a process. Perhaps starting with a ‘please find something to Indict Sect. Clinton 2018!’ would provide you with a better chance at success.

NunYa February 11, 2018 at 3:22 AM

Funny how libs ignore what they don’t feel is correct.

Read this

AlwaysBePositive February 11, 2018 at 10:54 PM

ny…even if I accepted all that as fact,I still don’t see any indictments on the horizon.

Dr Jellyfinger February 9, 2018 at 8:19 PM

They were warned against such things before they left. They would be sentencing family and friends to death if any defected.

Always Right February 9, 2018 at 8:29 PM

This hot stock market was way overdue for a correction. Better to have a healthy correction now than in October.

If you sold into this correction you should get back in soon. The economy is strengthening and corporate profits are too. The 2018 forward S&P P/E ratio is down to about 16.5%. Even if the 10 year treasury bill rises to 3.5% later this year and fixed mortgage rates top 5%, stock prices at these earning levels are still quite attractive.

LocaI February 9, 2018 at 10:40 PM

AlwaysRight, then why are the Republicans sending us trillions further into debt?

Trump’s America will be saddled with debt – just like his bankrupted hotels

The Republican spending bill throws conservative principles – whatever remains of them – into the wind

Elwood February 9, 2018 at 11:25 PM

Local won’t you please look up non sequitur?

Of course in your altered state you probably would either not understand it or just choose to ignore it.

LocaI February 10, 2018 at 11:55 AM

See what Elwood says?

When times are good, Republicans push us further into debt without a care, whereas Democrats save because Democrats are fiscally responsible.

Fred P. February 11, 2018 at 8:54 AM

Local says democrats are “fiscally responsible?”

What kinda drugs are you on? Or are you just that naive ? Or maybe just another DNC troll?

Probably all three.

Wow. I pity you and your parents. I’m sure that they had high hopes for you at one time….

Dr Jellyfinger February 9, 2018 at 9:03 PM

@ ABP – Re: my comment about “our women” I was simply referring to the women who are related to us. It was not meant to mean actual “ownership”. I’m sorry if that term was not politically correct enough for you, but I am not a PC person …. being PC is too pretentious and anal.

LocaI February 9, 2018 at 9:14 PM

The second government shutdown of 2018, explained

The federal government technically shut down at 12:01 am Eastern time Friday for the second time in three weeks.

Congress will need to vote again next month to fund the government, after the government shut down once over the issue in January and an immigration impasse very nearly prolonged this second shutdown of 2018.

Elwood February 9, 2018 at 11:27 PM

The government was shut down for nine hours.

It’s a wonder we survived.

LocaI February 10, 2018 at 11:58 AM

That’s right, Elwood.

As a reminder, the Republicans control all three branches of government yet haven’t passed a budget since last October, which now includes shutting down the government twice. Once had never been done before with only one party in control, but twice is ridiculous.

Republicans can’t lead.

Randy February 10, 2018 at 1:11 PM

Elwood. The republicans can’t get anything done. Even with multiple deadlines they knew were coming they failed.

Elwood February 10, 2018 at 3:06 PM

Thank God for strong Republican leadership!

Thanks to them we survived the horrible nine hour government shutdown with no damage.

Did it ever occur to you loons that the dimmiecrats played a major role in the problems you cite? I guess not.

Captain Bebops February 11, 2018 at 9:51 AM

Actually our system of government is on it’s deathbed along with the economic system we use. Time to move on and come up with something new and more equitable.

Bill Cutting February 10, 2018 at 6:46 AM

Aspirin February 10, 2018 at 8:52 AM

Mariner February 10, 2018 at 7:04 AM

You can run but you can’t hide from ICE, they will find you, and yes even in so called sanctuary cities!
SF you suck!

Fred P. February 10, 2018 at 12:27 PM

Aspirin, you are the least qualified to comment on the grammar of others when you’ve failed using your own comments.

Good God – you’ve failed at discussions on health care, the Constitution, taxes, fiscal policy, the 2A, statistics/polling and a host of other subjects. You can’t even comment correctly on someone’s use of grammar.

Aspirin February 10, 2018 at 8:48 AM

Mariner February 10, 2018 at 9:15 AM

Well I suggest women stay in the home, problems solved. If they stay with abusive husband’s that’s their choice, don’t bring it up 30 years after.
Sexual harassment…it goes with the territory. It ain’t gonna stop.

SF oh February 10, 2018 at 9:17 AM

I am sick of listening to Nancy Pelosi for a number of reasons – but one of my pet peeves with “all-inclusive-wanna be/ multi-millionaire crook/lunatic – Nancy” is that I never see her including any immigrants other than Hispanics. Ok, I get it, DACA is mainly Hispanics (and the Dems will do/say anything to get those Hispanic votes). But if Nancy asked her plastic surgeon to pull her eyelids back an inch or two, she would see that California has people from all over the globe. Her story about her grandson wishing to resemble his Hispanic classmate, could be taken as dissing his Asian classmates. If the Dems want to pretend to be inclusive – then they have to include everyone. Even…… OMG…… white kids!!

AlwaysBePositive February 10, 2018 at 12:03 PM

Speaking of Rep. Pelosi’s plastic surgeon, did you see this? Careful, you won’t be able to unsee it.

WC resident February 10, 2018 at 12:42 PM

Get a decent quality sticker that says Pelosi on it. Apply the sticker over the button on your TV’s remote control that says “MUTE”. Problem solved! All I know about her is there was a recent headline that she talked for eight hours straight. Imagine how productive the conservatives were, living in eight hours of blessed silence.

NunYa February 11, 2018 at 3:28 AM

Be sure there are many who agree with you. Probably even some Democrats.

Mariner February 10, 2018 at 11:22 AM

Being President has it’s perks…yes he can do pretty much whatever he wants to, to whomever he wants.
I don’t care what Trump does, cause it’s better than Hillary being President.
Wait till Trump gets re elected, then the snowflakes will really have meltdowns.

Venice February 10, 2018 at 11:30 AM

For all you nice folks with short memories here are just a few accomplishments by obama:

– Had the IRS target political opponents to shut them up, violating the constitutional rights of those who dared to disagree with him.

– Illegally spied on thousands of Americans, including Trump and his allies.

– Knowingly allowed his secretary of state to operate outside the law and then lied to the public, saying he didn’t know despite emailing her himself.

– Allowed Clapper, Brennan, Comey, Holder, and others to lie to Congress with no repercussions.

– Allowed a uranium deal with Russia to go through even though it was laced with corruption and kickbacks to the Clintons.

– Had his staff lie continuously to get the Iran deal done because it would supposedly enhance his legacy.

– Allowed a drug-running terrorist group to sell drugs in the U.S. to appease the Iranians. I wonder why we have an opioid addiction problem.

– Didn’t care that Planned Parenthood crushed and crunched babies for a profit. In fact, he and the Democrats threatened to close the government if Planned Parenthood didn’t get its annual 500-million-dollar allowance from the taxpayers.

– Didn’t lift a finger to help Americans under attack in Libya. Instead, he and Hillary concocted a lie to protect his political power.

Maybe Trump ain’t so bad, eh.

Nature Lover February 10, 2018 at 1:54 PM

Aspirin February 11, 2018 at 8:04 AM

Almost all of your statements are proven to be lies and right wing propaganda.

Responding to each one is a waste of time.

You seem to prefer Fox over facts.

Aspirin February 11, 2018 at 8:18 AM

Amazingly, Trump has surpassed Obama in this regard in just one year.

Yes, if you count corruption and staff mismanagement as being great.

Your list of right wing propaganda has little basis in fact.

Fred P. February 11, 2018 at 9:00 AM

Notice that all of the liberal posters here deny your statement, and not one of them can disprove anything. Instead they make claims like “responding to each one is a waste of time.” In other words, they’re admitting you’re right.

You know you’re correct when they they can’t/won’t even try to disprove any claims.

Btw, Obama sealed his college records and claimed his would be the “most transparent administration.”

Games set, match……. Trump 2020! Start crying now, libs.

Venice February 11, 2018 at 9:37 AM

So……….not one of you nice folks can disprove my comment? Just the usual snarky delusional denial.
Aspirin?……My side hurts, please stop with the jokes.

AlwaysBePositive February 12, 2018 at 8:59 PM

You forgot Benghazi and other scandals that all amounted to nothing. Instead of daring people to disprove your statements, why don’t you provide proof of one of them?

LocaI February 10, 2018 at 12:02 PM

Lost in memo frenzy, White House passed on punishing Russia for 2016 meddling

In 2017, Congress passed the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act by an overwhelming majority and President Trump signed the bill into law. It mandated the administration to provide a list by Jan. 31 of Russian persons and/or entities to be sanctioned for their closeness to the Russian regime as punishment for the aggression in Ukraine and Russia’s incontrovertible intervention in our 2016 elections.

The Treasury Department did not actually draft a list of persons and entities close to President Putin whose sanctioning would present to Russia an unmistakable sign of our serious intent. Instead the Treasury Department, possibly at the last moment, merely repeated a list of Russian oligarchs taken from and thus displayed its “compliance” with the legislation.

The result was congressional anger, allied dismay, and Russian scorn. Moscow’s stock exchange actually went up after this news showing its derision at the lazy and confused U.S. effort. This action also clearly raised questions in allied capitals as to the seriousness of our anti-Russian position while we are admonishing them to do more against Moscow. This episode — especially in the context of the other news concerning the Nunes memo and Mueller investigations — embodied many of what have long since become negative hallmarks of this administration.

The latest statistics show that gun deaths are up over 12 percent year-over-year. Firearm injuries are up nearly 8 percent. The number of children under the age of 12 shot by a gun has increased by 16 percent, while instances of defensive gun use are up nearly 30 percent since Trump took office. The level of anger has risen. Our political atmosphere has been further poisoned.
Trump tweets his fantasies as facts. The world watches in wonderment. A survey found that only two of 37 countries have a more favorable opinion of the United States since Trump took office.

“MAGA” ?

Not really.

Venice February 11, 2018 at 9:39 AM

I think I’ll make up some fake stats to refute your fake stats.

Dr Jellyfinger February 11, 2018 at 7:40 PM

Fred P. February 11, 2018 at 9:05 AM

Turn your watch back to 2016, nobama made a big deal over his Iran Deal, Ben Rhodes defended it, and huge sums cash from the U.S., that had been locked up from smart sanctions since the 1970’s, rolled off the pallets into the greedy hands of the mullahs: first a $400 million and then $1.3 billion more.
Money in that amount can easily be invested to multiply, and be spent to upgrade military capabilities. That’s exactly what happened. nobama knew and didn’t care because it’s what he wanted to happen.
Cash from nobama’s dirty deal is now bringing war to Isreal, our only friends in the middle east, and he still doesn’t care. Gee, do you think maybe he hates Jews? It IS a muslim thing, you know. But then he ain’t muslin, is he.
Incredibly, the deaf-dumb-blind obamatons, proving their stupidity, still defend that bad deal.
The rest of us look on in horror at the idiocy of giving billions to the mullahs.
But that’s exactly what nobama did.

Aspirin February 11, 2018 at 8:57 PM

This pales compared to some of Trump’s deals.

Remember Trump University ?

Elwood February 12, 2018 at 12:12 AM

Silva, Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey were both loyal supporters and personal acquaintances of Bill Clinton. Are you opining that political figures must own the actions and/or beliefs of those who support them? Or that one side of the political divide is more virtuous than the other? Either way, it’s ridiculous and insupportable. So what is your point?

Original G February 12, 2018 at 10:16 AM

Democrats have a mere three weeks to prove to their “new” not yet voters (DACA – Dreamers) how much they actually care about them. Unfortunately given previous actions of the Pelosi led cabal both mental acuity and mental maturity are not their strong points.

Likely what will happen is another immature adolescent melt down of finger pointing and name calling by Democrat members of Congress and sycophant media.

Given election losses during Obama administration and dismal Democrat leadership of Congress under Pelosi, Reid and Schumer the party desperately needs a constant supply of new voters to survive.

“The Center For American Progress (CAP) Action Fund circulated a memo on Monday calling illegal immigrants brought here at a young age — so-called “Dreamers” — a “critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success.”

The memo, co-authored by former Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri, was sent around to allies calling on Democrats to “refuse to offer any votes for Republican spending bills that do not offer a fix for Dreamers and instead appropriate funds to deport them.”” …

““The fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success,” reads Palmieri’s memo, obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.”

“If Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and beyond,” reads the memo. “In short, the next few weeks will tell us a lot about the Democratic Party and its long-term electoral prospects.”

Includes actual copy of the memo so you can read it for yourself.

Venice February 12, 2018 at 2:35 PM

Because they don’t have even one viable candidate, democrats bet their entire future on the 700,000, or if you count chain migration, millions of new voters from the DACA deal.
DACA people aren’t the overachieving, I’ve-got-a-new-life-at-last entrepreneurial immigrants of the legitimate kind; they are mostly underachievers who assimilate into the underclass and expect to get so much handed to them, including citizenship.
Many don’t speak English, a few educated well spoken aside, and they can have as many as three misdemeanors for wife-beating, graffiti-spraying, drunk driving, and the like and the desperate democrats look away.
Obviously, so many of these people are big users of social services of all kinds, from food stamps to medical services to education to justice system “interaction.” So they become democrat voters through the muscle of democratic political machines, or for the freebies themselves.
Democrats pretty much have no other program than that.
They also made DACA a race issue, when it should be a rule of law issue, which angers voters as well. Anyone opposing DACA was nothing but a racist, according to the democrat line, so give the DACA people everything they want – to avoid the dreaded racist label.
Didn’t work for them.
The only other thing that defines democrats is identity politics, so of course they had to make DACA about race.

Original G February 12, 2018 at 3:35 PM

“Because they don’t have even one viable candidate”

Well let’s see, there’s MAD Maxine, that female Rodeo Clown from Texas, Rahm Emanuel, Kamala Harris, Al Gore, HANDS Man Biden, Eric Holder, Clinton or . . . Ya know …… You ARE correct, they got nothin’.

And it’s even worse here in CA for Democrat Governor.
Flakes from SF or LA, either will end up hurting CA.

Aspirin February 13, 2018 at 8:16 AM

And yet we continue to hire DACA people because we cannot find enough Americans to perform the necessary labor tasks to put food on our tables, do our landscaping, drive our trucks, work in restaurants, and babysit our kids.

Go figure.

J A February 13, 2018 at 8:49 AM

Half the Story Aspirin. The rest is…
Yes They hire DACA poeople. The rest of the story is that they terminated the American, gave him a severance on condition that he not talk and filled his position with a person from India at a lower salary. This happened to a whole division in the south bay. It was a slow thought out planned process. On paper You look good but out in the real world you don’t have a clue. Don’t read and copy stuff , experience it first hand.

Venice February 13, 2018 at 10:44 AM

Elwood February 13, 2018 at 1:32 PM

I read Aspirin for the giggles.

She has a separate reality.

Aspirin February 13, 2018 at 8:06 AM

“The U.S. government’s top intelligence official said on Tuesday he expects Russia to continue using propaganda, false personas and other tactics to undermine the upcoming elections.
“There should be no doubt that Russia perceives its past efforts” to disrupt the 2016 presidential campaign “as a success,” and it “views the 2018 midterm elections” as another opportunity to conduct an attack, said Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats.”

And Trump doesn’t seem to care. He has denied any Russian involvement in our election. The Russians got him elected in 2016.

AlwaysBePositive February 13, 2018 at 8:52 AM

The 2018 election should be conducted with paper ballots. If it takes a week to get the final count who cares (other than the media that wants to declare winners before polls are closed)? The idea that we know that Russia was meddling, and we’ve done nothing about it is reason enough to vote for the challengers.

Elwood February 13, 2018 at 1:34 PM

“The Russians got him elected in 2016.”

See previous posts re: separate reality.

Rollo Tomasi February 13, 2018 at 1:37 PM

“The Russians got him elected in 2016.”

I was going to let it go until I read that.

Prove it. Produce one hacked voting machine. Produce one individual who changed their vote based on Russian interference. You can’t.

What won Trump the election was running against an opponent that was even more pathetic than him.

AlwaysBePositive February 13, 2018 at 3:08 PM

Two can play that game rt. Take all the djt voters and prove that none of them were influenced by Russian fake news stories about Sect. Clinton coming to get their guns. It came from Russian sources, was followed by over 240,000 people, and was completely untrue. I agree that Sect. Clinton was a horrible candidate, but there is no place that I would consider her to be worse than what we elected. Hillary’s emails vs djt’s staffs lack of security clearance. If you don’t think the Clinton issue is worse…you just aren’t paying attention.

Fred P. February 13, 2018 at 3:11 PM

Aspirin is unable and unwilling to prove ANY of the wild claims she makes – but attempts to legitimize her statements by “because I said so.”

She has no concept of reality, nor the difference between fat, opinion and outright lies. If the source and spin match her beliefs, then it must be fact. I guess she’s too lazy to do the research.

Again, it seems to be a common genetic mutation among liberals.

Rollo Tomasi February 13, 2018 at 5:18 PM

It is interesting to see those who receive minimal benefit from the tax plan crowing about the raises, bonuses, and increased pay they have received without for a second showing any concern for the budget cuts that will take those dollars and more back from the middle class. Anything that creates added deficit requires by law, cuts to the budget. It won’t be military spending, it will come from discretionary spending. In other words, things that people need from the government. The list is coming, and it won’t be pretty.

This whole idea that Democrats only worry about their voting is bogus. It is not the Democrats they will be voting for, they will be voting against Republicans. The R’s are the ones that belittle them, call them names, deride their history and their families. They make up stories about how DACA recipients are criminals, and how they are taking American’s jobs. They are the ones calling for the break up of families (what family values) and the deportation of people who did nothing but travel with their family when they were children.

@abp – guess you’ve never seen the insults spewed by liberals (aka democrats) towards the conservatives on this blog? Or in the newspapers? Or the “tolerant and inclusive” left in general? Go to ANY media site in the Bay Area.

Guess you’ve never seen the riots/vandalism pushed by the liberals, demonstrating against Trump and the GOP?

Guess you missed being called part of the “basket of deplorable and accused of “clinging to my guns and religion” and called “uneducated rednecks.”

Guess you missed being part of the “vast right wing conspiracy” or being called a “facist” or a “teabagger” or a “misogynist.”

Given that, you accuse the R’s of doing EXACTLY the same thing that the D’s have been doing – ever since Trump was elected….and before, during the campaign.

Take your BS to someone that gives a rip about your opinion. Next time, look in the mirror before throwing out your hypocrisy.

And above all, you have the gall to identify yourself as “always be positive?”

Wow – speaking of hypocrisy!

Mass shooting in Florida. Right off the top my prediction, school was one of those “Gun Free Zones” progressive liberals push.

OR do they push for gun free zones to attract mentally unstable people by guaranteeing them a free fire zone for a brief period of time to inflect death.
Seems ISIS and Democrat gun free zones are the only two able to repeatedly attract the homicidal mentally ill.

And what is the remedy for the mentally ill from Democrats?
Attempting to limit the number of bullets they can fire from a single weapon, easily overcome by bringing multiple weapons. Discarding them when empty and using their next weapon.

Turns out the shooter in Florida gave multiple warning signs of mental instability.

Have not heard yet how many minutes he had of uninterrupted shooting in the target rich environment before the first person with a gun set foot on campus.

‘Armed school officer stopped Arapahoe High School shooting’
“It now appears that our original thesis was confirmed because there was an armed officer on campus who was the reason the shooter was stopped after only shooting one student.

They are now stating that the entire incident was over in just 80 seconds because there was an armed sheriff’s deputy on staff who was alerted over the school’s radio system, who cornered the shooter in the library. It now appears that once the shooter heard the deputy identify himself as a law enforcement agent, he committed suicide.”

‘Jared Loughner Had 5 Run-ins with College Police’

‘James Holmes saw three mental health professionals before shooting’

‘Armed Guards Ended School Shooting in Oregon’

“… eight attacks over the last 8 years in which gunmen opened fire in places where citizens were disarmed by policies that treat law-abiding citizens and criminals alike. The result? 105 innocent lives taken and more than 150 others injured by gun fire in gun free zones.”

“What society in human history ever gathered its children together,
then issued a public guarantee that they would be left completely undefended?” –Alex Rawls

Be prepared for liberals to again call for gun control while saying NOTHING about Mental Health or calling for more accountability for those who are mandated to report information which would deny firearms to mentally unstable and fail to do so.

‘The Air Force says it failed to follow procedures, allowing Texas church shooter to obtain firearms’

Original G February 14, 2018 at 5:55 PM

‘Democrats Blame Republicans, Demand Gun Control After Florida School Shooting’

“Democrats immediately politicized the Florida school shooting that left at least 17 people dead on Wednesday and demanded gun control legislation, even before it was known how the shooter got his gun and whether any proposed legislation would have stopped it.

Some Democrats blamed Republicans for Wednesday’s tragedy, without citing any evidence whatsoever.

“Republicans should pray for forgiveness, for not only their complacency and dereliction of duty, but in contrition for the men, women and children we continue to lay to rest because of senseless gun violence and the cowardly inaction from Congress,” Democratic New Jersey Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman wrote on Twitter.”

Ask liberals to consider whether or not the shooter would have targeted the school if it were known there were multiple armed adults carrying concealed weapons on campus who had been trained in combat shooting who hit what they aim at.

Mass shooters go out of their way to target gun free zones.

‘Mass Shooters Prefer Gun-Free Zones’

“A very special set of no-nonsense signs have been posted outside the public schools in Okay, Oklahoma …”

““Please be aware that certain staff members at Okay Public Schools can be legally armed and may use whatever force is necessary to protect our students,” the signs read.”

Gun free zones get children killed.

Aspirin February 14, 2018 at 4:22 PM

This just in:

17 dead in South Florida High School shooting by a student with a high-powered rifle.

“Guns make us safer”.

Fred P. February 14, 2018 at 9:40 PM

You continue to demonstrate you know nothing about firearms,

The AR-15 is NOT a “high powered rifle.” It uses a .223 or 5.56 cartridge, which is a light to medium cartridge.

Btw, rifles don’t have “power.” It’s the ammunition that has the power. Without the ammunition, a gun is just an inert collection of metal parts.

Now start learning the facts before tossing around opinions like an uninformed liberal jackass. Of course, you’ve been known to do that for a long time…. that is, pretending you have the facts but are just plain clueless.

Original G February 14, 2018 at 7:22 PM

How strange in a city run by Democrats which has some of the strictest gun control in all of America this happens,

“At least 31 people were shot, six fatally, between Friday afternoon and Monday morning, making it the most violent yet in 2018, according to data kept by the Tribune.

That includes an 11-hour period from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning when 18 people were shot, three fatally.” …

“There have been 141 people shot and 25 people killed in 2018, while 211 people were shot and 41 people were killed at this point in 2017.” (article is dated 22 January 2018)

“Of the 17 people wounded in shootings from Friday afternoon to early Monday, six people were shot Friday, and eight throughout the day Saturday. Three people were shot and injured Sunday.”

So why is it Demiocrat politicians are not screaming in front of the TV cameras about gun violence in Chicago?

Do the black children killed in Chicago each year somehow not matter to Democrat politicians? OR is it they only care about a black kid being killed when it is an election year and the one who pulled the trigger was not black.

“Van Jones Admits Dems Need Minorities to Remain Poor and Resentful

CNN contributor Van Jones has taken to Facebook with a video in which he warns that Trump is likely to win the election because of his mastery of the new social media landscape of today. This might be true, but his electoral math is more interesting:

“70 percent of African Americans have a horrible view of Donald Trump,” Jones continued. “In order for the Democrats to win the White House they don’t have to get 50 percent of the black vote or 60, or 70, or 80, or 90, Democrats in order to win historically need 90 to 92 percent of the black vote. If only 70 percent don’t like Donald Trump, that means 30 percent are open to his argument. If he gets half of those, he’s president.”

Let this sink in slowly. Ensuring that Democrats continue to receive black votes in a monolithic block, it is in their interest for blacks to remain poor and resentful …”

“And your president who is more concerned about Dreamers than domestic terrorists with AR-15s.”

Silva February 14, 2018 at 8:58 PM

There is no better example of the corrosive effect of money on American politics than the spending of the National Rifle Assn. The gun rights organization spent a stupendous $54.4 million in the 2016 election cycle, almost all of it in “independent expenditures,” meaning spending for or against a candidate but not a direct contribution to a campaign. The money went almost entirely to Republicans to a degree that almost looks like a misprint (but isn’t): Of independent expenditures totaling $52.6 million, Democrats received $265. If you’re looking for a reason that politicians are quick to declare that their “thoughts and prayers” are with the victims of the horrific slaughters that have become virtually routine in American life, but do nothing further to stop them, look no further. The Center for Responsive Politics has compiled the baleful figures on the NRA’s election spending for its Open Secrets website. A spreadsheet showing totals spent on behalf of individual members of Congress through 2016 is here; the center is working to update the figures, and we will publish them once it does. The Washington Post has an interactive web page showing NRA contributions since 1998 to current members of Congress. As the Center for Responsive Politics observes, the recipients of NRA largess almost always let their pocketbooks do the voting for them. The NRA endowed the 54 senators who voted in 2015 against a measure prohibiting people on the government’s terrorist watch list from buying guns with $37 million in support; only one Democrat voted against the measure — Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, who has never received NRA support. The NRA played a major financial role in the last presidential election, entirely on the side of Donald Trump. The NRA also gave $27 million in direct and indirect support to 50 senators who voted against a bill to require universal background checks for firearms purchases (with Heitkamp again the only Democrat voting no). Here’s a sampling of NRA direct and indirect spending for a sample of political leaders, paired with their sanctimonious statements prompted by the Las Vegas massacre:

Why is the media giving today’s rabid mentally defective killer fame?

Plastering his picture, name and every fact of his miserable life they can dredge up on a nonstop loop of coverage? And they will devote hours upon hours of coverage spewing their diarrhea of verbal conjecture all during his trial so they can gain ratings.

Make these killers anonymous, they should be given no mention in the media, deny them the fame they crave.

But no, he will have world wide coverage and fame which he never would have been able to achieve in his wretched existence.

He now has fame as a killer of children which will cause another copy cat killing spree in yet another liberal gun free zone. He will find justice when he is inside prison walls. Inmates given the opportunity will exact justice.

Aspirin February 14, 2018 at 10:23 PM

Original G, nice try but you miss the point entirely.

The gun industry has our Congress in their pocket. Trump praises the NRA to get votes. Gun laws all over the country conflict with each other state-by-state.

Example: Strict gun laws in California are useless when Nevada has some of the most liberal gun regulations.

Our Congress is corrupted by special interests. The gun lobby has blood on its hands and Congress is too spineless to act.

My how simple your world must be.

And what happens when you have strict gun control if not an out right ban?

Great Britain for example where gun ownership is limited and they have no NRA.
“In The UK, Guns Aren’t The Problem, It’s Knives. And The Number Of Attacks Are Surging”

Japan has no NRA and strictly regulates firearms,
“Knife-Wielding Man Kills 8 Children at Japanese School”

An if you are concerned about Congress and Special interests take a look at what Democrats take from Lawyers and Law firms and perhaps you might begin to understand why lawsuit reform will NEVER be brought up in the US Congress.

Lawyers/Law Firms $3,821,249 Dianne Feinstein Senator (CA)
Lawyers/Law Firms $61,625,503 Hillary Clinton Senator (NY)
Lawyers/Law Firms $77,184,960 Barack Obama Senator (IL)
Lawyers/Law Firms $2,398,544 Kamala D Harris Senator (CA) 2018

When it comes to the liberal media a homicidal mass killer from last Century summed it up when he said, “All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.”

Thanks Original G for showing your ignorance of mental health issues in our society. Guns and mentally ill people are a bad recipe…listen to the sheriff from Florida expressing such sentiment.
And also thank you for forcing me to post on this website the dire need to help the mentally ill in our society. It is as much of a serious disease as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity – it kills if untreated.
Thank you Original G for making me stand up for my brother, a mentally ill person, with schizo-affective disorder, who struggles with his mind playing tricks on him due to a chemical imbalance in his brain. Trust me, he is too oblivious to seek fame for anything…he is sick an has a disease. And he should never have a gun, for when he experiences his episodes of imagined fear, negativity, loss of reality – a gun should never be in his possession.
Shame on you for calling this person in Florida “today’s rabidly mentally defective killer”….he is a person, he was obviously suffering and needed help, and did not get it. The outcome was devastating. He was mentally ill. Our government is failing us on healthcare for the mentally ill, as well as gun regulations.
I will compliment you however – you seem to write rather well, good arguments. I’m thinking you’re on the site as a paid legal aid for the gun lobby….you’re generally too smart, well versed for the average chicken here.
Hope you sleep well at night….say a prayer for my mentally ill brother tonight if your heart is in the right place.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, a vocal #MeToo leader, faces fresh allegations of misconduct in her office, including frequent discussions about sex and alcohol consumption at the Capitol.

San Diego lawyer Dan Gilleon filed a formal complaint Wednesday with the Legislature detailing the allegations on behalf of four anonymous former employees in Garcia’s office.

The complainants allege that Garcia regularly talked about her sexual activity, including with other members, in front of staff. They also allege Garcia drank alcohol while doing official Assembly business and pressured staff to join her in drinking at the office or at bars.

And the democrat-controlled legislature continues – and CONTINUES – to ignore sexual harassment…. while they discuss it and “issue statements.”

More of the do-nothing attitude by the democrats. How long has this been going on? How long has the CA legislature been controlled by the democrats? Why don’t the liberals take them to task about it????????

Are the democrats voters in bed with the politicians (so to speak)?

Wear Kevlar and seek emotional help. It couldn’t hurt.

AlwaysBePositive February 15, 2018 at 11:52 AM

Mass murders are already illegal, no Constitutional Amendment needed. Free and easy access to ‘inanimate goods’ that are designed to kill can be amended.

27 school days…18 school shootings

Elwood February 15, 2018 at 12:44 PM

Gee, thanks Aspirin for clarifying the second amendment for us.

SCOTUS hasn’t been able to do it but we can always count on you for the straight scoop!

Fred P. February 15, 2018 at 1:15 PM

aspirin, aspirin, aspirin……

Your lack of knowledge of history, the Constitution/Bill of Rights, the US Code, the Federalist Papers and the law (in general) continues to astound.

You have NO knowledge of ANY of those documents – let alone the meaning behind them. More than once, it has been suggested to you to educate yourself and learn the facts/history behind that….instead you choose to trot out the same simplistic drool time and time again.

Sure, let’s “just change the 2nd Amendment.” You and abp (as well as a handful of other liberals) have no concept.

It’s obvious you’ve ceased to be a contributing member of society.

Teamster February 16, 2018 at 6:46 PM

Mtzman…go look at the stats you speak of. It is very inaccurate as it includes incidents such as drive by shooting after hours, cadets accidental discharge, officer accidental discharge and others. This shooting is horrible no doubt. I really think that social media, isolation, lacking social skills, minimal coping skills, distorted views of reality need to receive a lot more attentions on our society. Thoughts and prayers to the community in Florida.

Aspirin February 15, 2018 at 9:07 AM

Trump will speak today on the Florida school shooting.

I will be surprised if anything of value is offered.

Randy February 15, 2018 at 9:52 AM

$3.3 billion in tax giveaways for Wells Fargo, and $3.4 billion cut from heating assistance.
$5.9 billion in tax giveaways for Exxon, and $4.4 billion cut from rental assistance.
$1.4 billion in tax giveaways for the Koch Brothers, and $1.4 billion cut from after school programs.

No wonder Mick Mulvaney can’t defend the Trump Budget – it’s simply indefensible.

Silva February 15, 2018 at 10:23 AM

Oof. Get ready to pay more at the pump: President backs a gas tax hike of 25 cents per gallon – that’s 235 per cent! – to pay for massive infrastructure plan

Venice February 15, 2018 at 10:58 AM

Silva –
Yes, I read that yesterday. That increase on top of already getting hit by CA’s excessive increase per gallon and the overreaching increase in our vehicle registration is hurting us every time we buy something. We already pay $1 per gallon more than the rest of the country.

Silva February 15, 2018 at 11:13 AM

Well I don’t get it. Why do we need a tax hike? Republicans firmly asserted that the tax cuts would bring in massive amounts of revenue for the government.

Venice February 15, 2018 at 11:48 AM

Now you’re just being silly, silva.
Hey…..that’s a good name for you. “Silly Silva”….has a nice ring to it.

Silva February 15, 2018 at 12:26 PM

It wouldn’t be the first time, Venice!😁 I’ve certainly been called worse. I think they’ve probably all been done before. My last employer called me “Skilva”, or “Skilv” for short. That was my all time favorite. Any chance of that?😉

Dr Jellyfinger February 15, 2018 at 10:02 PM

Yet you said nothing when Jerry Brown raised the gas tax….

Silva February 15, 2018 at 11:41 PM

Who didn’t?

Venice February 15, 2018 at 12:16 PM

Democrats are losing their electorate and are pursuing a policy of “open borders.” They want to fix it by bringing illegal aliens into the U.S. Democrats know their final hope is the legalization of illegal aliens.

Corrupt socialists pursue a single goal: give the illegal aliens the right to vote our in elections.
New York mayor, communist Bill de Blasio, openly supports the idea that 500,000 illegal aliens in New York City get the right to vote at least in local elections. Gee Billy, who would benefit from that?
California’s own socialist criminal, Moonbeam Brown, already implemented that law. Beginning April 1, 2018, all residents of California, including illegal aliens, will automatically be added to voting rolls while renewing their driver’s licenses.
Hmmmm…….seem crooked to you?

AlwaysBePositive February 15, 2018 at 12:44 PM

v…once again, you are incorrect. The CA motor voting law (?) does NOT give undocumented immigrants voting rights. You have said it before, and been corrected before. Hmmmmm…seem like someone has an agenda?

Venice February 15, 2018 at 1:16 PM

You’re right the law would not give voting rights “automatically”. I believe that would be a separate form.

AlwaysBePositive February 15, 2018 at 2:53 PM

v. The other form would be a voter registration form, one that is not completed by undocumented immigrants because they CAN’T vote. That doesn’t mean that some don’t vote, there is always a work around for someone that wants to break the law.

Aspirin February 15, 2018 at 6:08 PM

Venice, please check your facts before posting drivel.

Dr Jellyfinger February 15, 2018 at 9:59 PM

There is a built in feature to prevent illegals from voting in California…. the registration form is too small to be signed with a can of spray paint.

Fred P. February 16, 2018 at 12:10 PM

aspirin – you of all people should not be telling others to “check their own facts before posting drivel.”

You of all people are guilty of posting left-wing drivel.

Look in the mirror, hypocrite.

Venice February 15, 2018 at 12:41 PM

Especially for “Silly Silva”

Our treasury hauled in roughly $361 billion in taxes for the month of January and spent roughly $311.8 billion. That’s a surplus of over $49 billion.
Whaddya know. tax cuts bring more money to the fed, not less. How can that be? Conventional thinking about tax cuts creating deficits couldn’t be wrong, or could it?
Sooooo, if we have a responsible conservative government, we can cut the deficit and cut more of the national debt from the enhanced revenues – and pay for social services for the truly needy. That’s a good thing.
Annnnnnnd it shows that a whole mess of “crumbs,” as Princess Nancy sniffingly called the gains, are adding up.
Because of those “crumbs” as they now stand: we have thousands taking home bonuses. We have businesses forming, which grows the tax base.
Consumers are spending, which feeds state and city coffers. We have individual jobs forming at companies of all sorts, which feeds the federal and state coffers even more. There are more people entering the workforce, with some getting off welfare and SSI, also paying into to the tax base.
Here’s the best thing: the crumbs aren’t done piling up. The knock-on effects from the long overdue tax cuts are only just beginning.

AlwaysBePositive February 15, 2018 at 12:50 PM

Wrong again…Two months of a surplus do not mean the deficit is going down, it means that we have had two months of a surplus. Check again at the end of the year, you will see an annual deficit approaching 1 trillion dollars.

You might also want to wait to see what the effect on spending this deficit increasing tax plan creates. The US will pay more in interest payments, and consumers will have to pay more for things the government is already providing, laws will require that spending cuts match deficit increases.

Randy February 15, 2018 at 1:09 PM

Ask Ronnie Reagan how that worked. He ended up raising taxes ELEVEN times after his big tax cut.

Venice February 15, 2018 at 1:13 PM

abp –
I didn’t claim the deficit was going down.
I believe you may be allowing your rabid hate to affect your comments.

Silva February 15, 2018 at 1:56 PM

It is it funny so many have conveniently forgotten that Reagan’s “Trickle Down Theory” was a massive failure.

AlwaysBePositive February 15, 2018 at 2:50 PM

v…so if you are not claiming that the tax cuts are generating surpluses, what are you posting about?

Aspirin February 15, 2018 at 6:07 PM

Inflation is on the rise again.

Kiss off your salary increases.

Fred P. February 16, 2018 at 12:08 PM

aspirin – you have to be working to get a salary increase.

Sitting on your a$$ won’t get you anything except another EBT card – but you know that.

Randy February 15, 2018 at 1:16 PM

Remember Trump, signed a bill last year revoking Obama’s gun checks for people with mental illnesses (like the shooter, whom many regarded as likely to do exactly what he did)

Silva February 15, 2018 at 4:22 PM

Trump Signs Bill Revoking Obama-Era Gun Checks for People With Mental Illnesses

Dr Jellyfinger February 15, 2018 at 10:32 PM

This latest shooter put a video on youtube stating he wanted to be a “professional school shooter” and a good citizen reported it to the FBI yet they STILL couldn’t be proactive and lock the psycho up.
What the hell does it take?

AlwaysBePositive February 16, 2018 at 9:30 AM

dj, if you’d like to live where people can be arrested for the things that they say…you’ll have to move (at least for now)

Aspirin February 15, 2018 at 6:02 PM

Mr. Trump, flying flags at half-mast and visiting Florida will not help to solve the problem of gun violence in the USA.

Fred P. February 15, 2018 at 9:32 PM

Guns aren’t violent, people are.

Aspirin February 15, 2018 at 11:04 PM

Fred, yes we know that. So why do we let them have guns?

Aspirin February 15, 2018 at 11:03 PM

The GOP is absolutely complicit with gun violence. It has been the lapdog of the gun industry and the gun lobby.

Aspirin February 15, 2018 at 11:06 PM

If you have been around for the past 50 years or so you should know that the stock market can, and has, gone down as well as up.

Fred P. February 16, 2018 at 7:42 AM

Yet you claimed that the stock market was going to crash after Trump’s election.

I guess you “missspoke?” Or are redefining what “crash” means?

Tell us when you’ve learned something about the stock market.

Aspirin February 16, 2018 at 10:35 AM

It “crashed” a couple of weeks back.

If you think that the market will always go straight up I have a bridge to sell you.

Fred P. February 16, 2018 at 11:51 AM

Aspirin – Nobody said the market will go “straight up.”

My dog knows more about the stock market than you’ll ever possibly know.

Randy February 16, 2018 at 11:58 AM

Two days before the school shooting in Florida that left 17 dead, the Trump administration proposed cutting millions in federal education programs meant to help prevent crime in schools and assist them in recovery from tragedies.

Funds targeted for reduction or elimination in the Trump administration’s fiscal 2019 request have helped pay for counselors in schools and violence prevention programs. Such funds were used for mental health aid for students and teachers in the Newtown, Conn., school district following the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012.

Aspirin February 16, 2018 at 12:02 PM

“A Washington grand jury issued an indictment today against 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies for interfering in the 2016 presidential election to support Donald Trump. This was the first indictment by Special Counsel Robert Mueller that directly accused specific Russians of meddling in the U.S. election.”

Elwood February 16, 2018 at 3:25 PM

Well, that’s nice. I guess he may finally have something to show for the time and millions of dollars wasted in the lightning investigation of everyone for everything.

Now let’s see some proof of collusion which is what he was originally charged to do.

AlwaysBePositive February 16, 2018 at 3:31 PM

e…don’t I remember you promoting the Benghazi investigation?

Elwood February 16, 2018 at 5:38 PM

ABP, you’re losing your memory.

Fred P. February 16, 2018 at 12:04 PM

And the kids at school who were interviewed made comments about the shooter being “wierd” or that he might do “something crazy”, etc… etc….

Why didn’t they raise their concerns to a teacher?

Is it because they’ve all been conditioned to not say anything for fear they’ll be ostracized? Or be deemed “politically incorrect?”

NunYa February 16, 2018 at 1:01 PM

Oh no poor Hillary was negatively influenced by the Russians. Darn it, maybe she can run another illegal email server that has classified documents on it when runs her next campaign.

Or better yet, Bill can sleep his way through the U.S. All the while Hillary sharing how important families are. Just not hers as she willingly allowed him to cheat on her while raising a child in that house.

AlwaysBePositive February 16, 2018 at 3:30 PM

Why is Sect. Clinton’s email still important to you, while the current reality that 130 White House staffers do not have final security clearance after a year?

Why use President Clinton as an example when we can use djt’s affairs with adult entertainment actresses (including a time while his child was still a baby)?

NunYa February 16, 2018 at 1:04 PM

Aspirin should just take himself and call nobody in the morning.

Dr Jellyfinger February 16, 2018 at 2:20 PM

Local & Aspirin… you guys better watch out, the FBI is onto you guys!

Elwood February 16, 2018 at 3:21 PM

Aspirin, the world’s foremost authority, shares her vast knowledge of the stock market with us.

Unfortunately, she doesn’t know the difference between a correction and a crash. ’29 was a crash. ’87 was a crash. ’18 was a correction.

You’re welcome!

Venice February 16, 2018 at 3:45 PM

The Muller Report found NO involvement by ANY Trump associates.
13 Russians were charged with disrupting the election and, without the slightest bit of evidence, you leftist idiots bought into the whole fake story trying to blame your party’s failures on Republicans.
Shame on you!

TIFOKCIS February 16, 2018 at 4:25 PM

Yeah Putin didn’t want Hillary and more uranium………………..LOL

Venice February 16, 2018 at 5:51 PM

“Here are some real statistics pulled from the CDC and the FBI. iNumbers are all from 2013:
Total number of deaths in 2013: 2.6 Million
Total Number of gun related deaths in 2013: 33,169
Percentage of deaths caused by guns: 1.28%
Total number of murders in 2013: 12,253
Number of murders where a gun was used: 8,454
Number where a handgun was used: 5,782
Number where a rifle was used: 285
Miscellaneous guns: 2,387
Currently there are an estimate 310 million guns in the US.
According to the FBI, In 2013 the number of homicides in which a gun was used was 8,454.
For the sake of argument, let’s say there were 300 million guns in 2013.
This means that 0.003% of all of the guns in the US were used in murders in 2013.”
Soooooo……..let’s do as the lunatic liberals want and punish everyone who didn’t shoot anybody.

Venice February 16, 2018 at 6:03 PM

France, in 2016 a guy rented a truck and drove it into pedestrians. 86 killed and 458 injured, some for life. That’s more than Las Vegas. NO GUN WAS USED!.
The same attack has happened in Berlin, in NYC and in London.
More to the point, the same attack CAN happen in your local school parking lot. As some have pointed out, by focusing only on guns and making the debate about what to ban, we don’t talk solutions that can implemented now, that both sides can live with and that will actually STOP the next shooting.
How about armed security, better mental health screening and a better response to reports of people acting strangely?
Damn your weenie feelings about making the school feel like prison. We will NEVER make progress against violence if you unhinged anti gun nuts keep ranting about the wrong thing.

Teamster February 16, 2018 at 6:40 PM

Stop buying and playing those video games that promote killing without any regard for life. Maybe eat dinner with the family….
