Put in woodchips and it will never have to close like at Heather Farms. Last winter was ridiculous, it was closed for almost 3 months.

Hold my spot for me…..lol!

The problem with wood chips is that it absorbs urine and dog feces gets lost in it, which is why the Heather Farms dog park smells and is always full of flies. Keep the grass; the temporary closures are a small price to pay.

Just an idea... January 13, 2018 at 5:29 PM

…and maybe a stupid idea. I’m not the certified botanist, but are they doing a regular fescue/rye blend in there? The hated crab grass guzzles water in the summer and strangely looks at its worse during rainy season, but it’s always THERE, able to withstand abusive traffic. Am I all wet?

Pour Cement and put a drain in the middle.

Don’t have a dog in this, but if waiting for rains, why not run sprinklers and water down the lawn. Give it a day or 2 to dry.
