Trump Is So Bad at Deals That the Book He Tried to Kill Is Coming Out Early

Trump can’t make a deal to save his life. He’s shown no ability to negotiate with anyone and has barely been able to work with his people in his own party. So when his lawyer sent a cease-and-desist letter to Henry Holt, demanding the book not be published, it of course backfired. Instead of withholding the book, the publisher announced that they’re bumping up the release to this Friday, four days earlier than planned.

Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury — underscores one major point: our mainstream journalists are genuinely awful. They will sell any narrative to keep from stating the obvious: Trump is out smarting them on a daily basis.

The liberal propaganda machine is in hysterics. Trump is quietly reforming the country, while the idiots in the press continue to parrot petty memes.

LocaI January 6, 2018 at 2:06 PM

Forsythe, try reading from sites that aren’t made-up like your P J Media, lol. Here, I’ll get you started with the Boston Globe:

The greatest mystery in Washington: Why is anyone still loyal to Trump?

The trail of insults from former and current staff speaks volumes. To Reince Priebus and Steve Mnuchin, Trump is an idiot. For H.R. McMaster, he’s a “hopeless idiot.” Gary Cohn compared the president’s intelligence to excrement. We already know about Rex Tillerson labeling the president a “moron,” a charge he’s refused to deny.

By picking my “source”, I can “prove” anything.

LocaI January 6, 2018 at 5:29 PM

Hey Fred,

GQ, The Boston Globe, and CBS News have been around my entire life. Nobody’s ever heard of pj media. Your posts reek of desperation to discredit me, but they do the opposite. Here’s more:

Wolff says understanding the “emperor has no clothes” will end Trump’s presidency

“You know I think one of the interesting effects of the book so far is a very clear, ’emperor has no clothes’ effect — that the story that I’ve told seems to present this presidency in such a way that it says he can’t do this job, the emperor has no clothes, and suddenly everywhere people are going, ‘Oh my God it’s true, he has no clothes.’ That’s the background to the perception and the understanding that will finally end this presidency,”

Job growth slows to a six-year low in Trump’s first year

The revisions from the previous two months were mixed, with October’s totals revised down and November’s totals revised up. Combined, they pointed to a net loss of 9,000 jobs, which adds to the discouraging nature of today’s report. Donald Trump’s first year as president has been the slowest job growth in six years.

AT&T sheds 1,000 employees after touting GOP tax plan, giving out bonuses

But days prior to the announcement it was reported that AT&T had also quietly laid off 600 employees in Illinois and five other states throughout the Midwest.

It was then reported that the company had given more than 700 DirecTV home installers pink-slips.

The only people that care any longer about the Clintons are Republicans

Dr. Jellyfinger January 5, 2018 at 11:31 PM

Nobody cares about the Clintons…. some people, people with character and morals…. those that care about justice and the rule of law equally applied to each and every American… with no exceptions for those who feel they are above the law and deserve to be exempted from the rules that bind the rest of us… the elite ruling class who laugh at the possibility of being indicted. They challenge us, they dare us…. just TRY to send me to jail! That’s who real Americans care about…. .it’s the audacity of their behavior & omnipotence… that’s what provokes those of us who follow the rules of fair play & respect the law and consider our fellow citizens to be equals. A two tiered justice system may be acceptable in third world nations where bribes, influence peddling and slush funds are the norm…. but it has no place in the USA…. not in the new Republican Party anyway.

Just for you “local” :

Super-MAGAnomic-Winning: U.S. Added 250,000 Private Sector Jobs in December – DOW Closes Above 25k…

According to ADP payroll reports the U.S. economy added a whopping 250,000 jobs in December exceeding the earlier forecast of 190k. The DOW jumps over 25,000.
This jobs report bolsters confidence in the MAGAnomic prediction shared two years ago. So long as current economic trends continue, the explosion in private sector wage rates, middle-class wages, will begin around Q2 of this year (April – June). Once the eight year Obama-labor-lag is fully absorbed, a tighter job market will put upward pressure on real wage.
Posted on January 4, 2018 by sundance

msnbc Local? really?

LocaI January 6, 2018 at 5:03 AM

“ADP payroll”, lol. Try the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

ADP has been an especially unreliable forecaster in December, says Jim O’Sullivan, chief U.S. economist of High Frequency Economics. That’s because at the end of the year, some employers remove workers no longer with the company from the payrolls reported to ADP, O’Sullivan says. Labor stops counting those workers as soon as they stop getting paychecks.

Thank you Noj! This is true ! It is truly amazing how the supposed main stream media is prostituting with all these lies, that are then exposed. They are loosing viewers

Aspirin January 6, 2018 at 8:56 AM

Trump tweets lies because a press conference requires that he listens to, and answers questions.

He is unable to respond factually. Everything he says is campaigning.

He had one press conference last year.

Greg94528 January 6, 2018 at 12:55 PM

Trump is responding in attack mode because the mainstream media has been absolutely unfair to him and have lied about him all along. Most their lies they don’t even correct but is coming out now. I love Trump this country is going to Boom like never before in poverty will be reduced middle class will be elevated and America will be a safer Place worldwide! USA January 6, 2018 at 10:10 AM

It’s pretty darn good to feel so positive about the direction of our country. I had feared the worst with Hillary, and we were actually looking for other countries to move to, until of course America spoke and tossed the crooked witch to the dogs. I think the most enjoyable thing to me is the entire liberal media and democrat side calling Trump an idiot, child, moron, etc.

That just proves that a nutless monkey could have beat Hillary 🙂 My prediction is a full two terms, and Ivanka becoming the first woman president. The future is so bright I gotta wear shades!

ps. Sorry to all the extreme liberal/democrats. You had your turn, you totally screwed the country on every imaginable platform. Please, politely take a seat and let people that don’t make decisions based off their every whim of an emotion do the necessary work to make the US a stronger nation that takes care of it’s own first and foremost.

Captain Bebops January 6, 2018 at 1:22 PM

I was amused to read today that the book “Fire and the Fury” includes a moment of Trump lucidity where he’s asked why can’t Medicare be extended to all as a solution to the health care problem. That of course was Sanders’ solution as well as a number of other politicians and makes total sense. Sorta reminded me of the book that came out early about Dubya where he asked about having already given the rich enough tax breaks.

Silva January 7, 2018 at 10:37 AM

Just grasping for straws. He had promised the followers he would “repeal and replace” Obamacare on the first day, without any Idea what that even meant. Who knew healthcare was so complicated?

Aspirin January 6, 2018 at 2:21 PM

Absolute proof at last: Trump is a lying idiot unqualified to be the White House parking attendant.

Fred P. January 6, 2018 at 4:32 PM

“Absolute proof?”

Then let’s see the raw data and “absolute proof.”

If you can’t provide that, then you just need to turn off your momma’s computer. You have no idea what “absolute “ proof means….

And we’re gonna hound you until you provide that “absolute proof.”

Aspirin January 6, 2018 at 4:39 PM

They are three different political systems.

Original G January 6, 2018 at 6:08 PM

All three strive to give a select few power, control and ability to coerce thru selective application of laws to make examples of those who dare to not cooperate.

Dr. Jellyfinger January 6, 2018 at 7:09 PM

Aspirin is right!
Socialism, Progressivism,& Communism are three different political systems.

Just like Keebler’s Chips Deluxe, Chips Ahoy & Famous Amos are 3 different types of Chocolate Chip Cookie… mass produced, basically the same mediocre thing… but different.

The Ford Pinto & Mercury Bobcat …. basically the same, but different…… & still totally crappy!

Fred P. January 6, 2018 at 9:08 PM

Now aspirin claims to be an expert on political systems and states “get an education.”

You have NO idea about politics, medicine, health care, the 2nd amendment, the Constitution, law, economics, statistics, polls and have a dozen other subjects. Yet you blather on as if you think you’re an expert. And you’ve proven that time and time again.

YOU get an education and leave the discussions to the adults.

Fred P. January 6, 2018 at 4:27 PM

And aspirin still has yet to prove that trump is a “lying idiot.”

Your proof?

No?

Then you’re just another whiny liberal, and part of the problem. You’re certainly not part of the solution.

Before retiring after 45 years….. employees that worked for me that did nothing but whine were those that did little work – and were eventually terminated for poor work performance….and quality. Never regretted it.

Aspirin January 6, 2018 at 4:38 PM

Hundreds of Trump’s lies have been published. Your failure to read them is not my problem.

Fred P. January 6, 2018 at 9:05 PM

Aspirin – Your failure to substantiate ANY of your claims is indicative of your inability to separate fact from fiction – or lies. And your continued ignoring of the requests for proof simply PROVES that you are unable and incapable of providing such proof.

THAT is YOUR problem.

AGAIN – You claim he is a “lying idiot.” Prove he is lying and prove that he is an “idiot.”

If not, then S T F U.

Still no proof? Then we know who the “idiot” is….

Fred P. January 6, 2018 at 4:36 PM

Still waiting for aspirin’s stock market “crash.”

Original G January 6, 2018 at 6:22 PM

Business and stock markets need two things from a President, his administration and governmental agencies, Political Stability and Regulatory Certainty. Thanks to President Trump we now have both along with Change all can see, finally giving the country Hope.

Aspirin January 6, 2018 at 11:02 PM

What goes up will come down.

Economics is cyclical.

Fred P. January 8, 2018 at 8:28 AM

Aspirin – Climate change is cyclical too.

To paraphrase your earlier comment – look it up.

Don’t pretend you know ANYTHING about medicine, climate change, economics, law, the Constitution, statistics, polls, or politicial philosophies – or the difference between fact, opinion and sarcasm.

You claim to know so much about these different subjects – well then, why don’t you offer your services to this country – instead of hacking away on a keyboard?

That’s right – you hide behind a keyboard where you don’t have to be responsible for your opnions or accountable for your actions.

Like a true liberal.

“Progressive”? Hah!

Aspirin January 6, 2018 at 4:36 PM

Trump claims that the severe Winter weather is evidence that climate change is a hoax.

The idiot does not understand that weather and climate are not the same. They are two different things.

Aspirin January 6, 2018 at 10:58 PM

Progressivism is a driver of progress.

Socialism is much of what is already voted for and provided to Americans in terms of benefits and charity.

Communism is not a problem in America but it persists as a campaign tool for the GOP.

Trump plays to his base – always. He can’t seem to grow beyond that.

Trump’s supporters and apologists are epidemic on this board, and they aren’t too particular about the hundreds of lies told by Trump. In their dark world Trump is a shining light.

Trump is almost childlike in his responses to criticism. He tweets insults and cries foul when called out over the mistakes he makes. A thin skin is not a good thing in someone trying to be a president.

MAGA is not working. Ask anyone not living in the USA.

Always Right January 7, 2018 at 7:47 PM

The dems made a huge miscalculation with their “resist” platform. Our POTUS does like to be liked.

Like Schwartznagger, Trump could have been swayed more to the left with the right amount of smoozing and cooperation. He is not a right winger or a left winger ideologically. He is a pragmatist: win baby win.

But the democrats treated this POTUS like the plague, and the right wing (correctly) has embraced him. I don’ t blame Trump one bit for his lurch to the right. The left has nothing to offer him.

President Trump’s approval rating will get up to the upper 40’s by August, and that should be good enough to keep the Congress marginally Republican.

Dr. Jellyfinger January 7, 2018 at 8:31 PM

MAGA IS working for the USA ….. it isn’t helping people NOT living in the USA …. and why would we ask them?
Who cares what they think?
You see Aspirin, what you don’t get is we are putting AMERICA FIRST
You can worry about everyone else if you want to & give them preference…. but don’t expect the rest of us hard working USA taxpayers to take on the role of being the world’s nannies.

Aspirin January 7, 2018 at 10:45 PM

“America first” is not putting us first. It is a closed and narrow political view that makes no sense whatsoever.

We are a part of the world whether you like it or not.

“America first” is a meaningless slogan. It ignores the reality of a global system of humanism, commerce and scientific progress.

Fred P. January 8, 2018 at 8:32 AM

“America first” is meaningless only to those who want to tear down the system and those who hate Trump.

Whatever happened to you liberals proclaiming love for diversity, inclusion, tolerance, freedom of speech, etc….? That’s right…. you have demonstrated that exists ONLY when agreeing with liberals.

Keep whining, loser/hypocrite. You have proven beyond any doubt that you are part of the problem – you are certainly NOT part of the solution.

Interesting how democrats/liberals have latched onto the term “progressive.”

It’s “progressive” only in their eyes.

Just watch when they try to defend it.

Guns are outlawed in Mexico!
There must be naughty people who don’t obey the laws.
Guess I won’t be going there any time soon.
Sure glad we don’t have people like here.

….which tells you that the gun laws don’t do a damn thing.

Heroin’s illegal – look how well that’s working….

@venice – Apparently, randy can’t understand sarcasm.

“Sarchasm” – the gulf between Randy and those who understand.

Aspirin January 8, 2018 at 2:47 PM

Fred P, yet here you are, still living in California.

Now really, if it is that bad you would leave. Right?

Or better yet, work to change California to be more to your liking.

The problem with that is the vast majority of Californians are Democrats and will probably disagree with you.

Fred P. January 9, 2018 at 7:32 AM

Yet aspirin has yet to prove that “everyone wants to move to California”, but points to the real estate section of the newspaper as justification for that claim….and it’s probably not more than one newspaper. Then points to the real estate section of the newpaper ” for an education.”

Aspirin – that proves NOTHING. Sales of homes/properties can just as easily be for people moving OUT of state. Newspaper ads don’t tell WHY a house/property is selling. Obviously, that FACT escaped you, as it’s nothing more than an assumption on your part – which is further indicative of your lack of knowledge about statistics. If I wanted an “education” as to why “everyone wants to move to California”, I sure wouldn’t look at the real estate ads for that “education.”

Correlation does not equal causation.

I suggest you read some articles from experts, and not rely on your own biased self-centered opnions as fact or justification.

Next time, support your claims with facts and raw data – opinions do not equal fact.

Besides – you’re telling me “yet here you are, still living in California.” That’s just another one of your assumptions, as you know NOTHING about me or where I live. Not unexpected for a liberal.

Pay no attention to aspirin – he/she has claimed “expertise” in a multitude of subjects, and has demonstrated an extreme LACK of knowledge in ANY of them.

Again, having a lobotomy does not consttitute “working with surgeons” nor does it provide any level of expertise in the leath care system.

Merely having voted or having an opinion on anything does not qualify you has having knowledge (let alone expertise) of any political subject.

Opinions are not facts.

Don’t assume ANYTHING.

And yes, my 401K is doing MUCH better than in the previous 8 years. Thanks for asking….

All that being said, Yes – California is heavily liberal. That’s their choice. And that’s why the supermajority in Sacramento continue passes laws without input from the voters, continuing to raise taxes. Thhe politicians depend on the low-information liberal voters to re-elect them, because they KNOW the voters will continue to vote the party line.

Aspirin January 8, 2018 at 3:05 PM

An excellent indicator of the desire to live in a state or an area is property values. As we all know, market forces drive property values and market forces include the attractiveness of a state or community.

Market forces also include the volume of sales activity, which in California is extremely high. This is obvious to most, but not all, apparently.

California and New York real estate values are among the highest in the USA. This would not be the case if these states were undesirable.

Pay no attention to Fred P. Instead, look at the real estate section in the paper for an education.

A good year just got better. (Congressional Ethics Committee)

“During the Christmas break last month we looked at the rather odd story of an air traveler who was bumped from her first class seat on a United Flight from Texas to Washington by Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. The passenger in question was Jean-Marie Simon, and United claimed that she had mistakenly canceled her own flight using the app on her phone and then reassigned the newly open, first-row seat to Jackson Lee. The congresswoman initially blamed it on racism (of course), which was an odd charge considering that Simon is a human rights activist.

After a non-apology from the airline and an offer of a voucher in exchange for her troubles, Simon was still not satisfied with the treatment she had received. And now, according to her Twitter feed, she’s asked the Congressional Ethics Committee to look into the matter.”

Liberals should be proud of what their politicians have wrought.

“Restaurant busboys, in line to earn a little more dough this year as minimum wage hikes hit across the country, are instead losing their jobs as chains look to cut costs.

One chain axing jobs is Red Robin, which hopes to save about $8 million this year by eliminating busboys at each of its 570 restaurants, the company said Monday.

Red Robin restaurants are located mostly in Western states, where the minimum wage has risen more quickly.

The Colorado-based chain already eliminated so-called expediters — who plate the food in the kitchen — and realized a cost savings of nearly $10 million last year, it said.

“We need to do that to address the labor increases we’ve seen,” Red Robin’s Chief Financial Officer Guy Constant told attendees at the ICR retail conference held here.

The casual dining chain has been investing in ramping up its delivery options, according to management. Existing staff is expected to pick up the slack once the busboys are eliminated.”
https://nypost.com/2018/01/08/red-robin-will-offset-minimum-wage-hikes-by-canning-busboys/

How many businesses employing minimum wage employees will or already have closed? How many business closings lately were actually, if truth be told, the result of the minimum wage hike?

Unlike government a business has to be profitable to keep a location open.

Fred P. January 8, 2018 at 10:00 PM

It’s liberals like aspirin who pretend they know anything about economics or business.

Then they wonder why their “ideas” fail.

THEN they’ll pass more laws to “fix” the failures of their previous attempt.

THEN they’ll blame the “greedy” owners and increase taxes, all without input from the voters.

It’s called circling the drain?…

Randy January 9, 2018 at 9:16 AM

This has nothing to do with minimum wage but a lot to do with the bottom line and how to increase profits. Its good business.
