UPDATE: Air District Meteorologists Say Air Quality Will Remain Poor Into the Weekend

October 12, 2017 14:08 pm · 8 comments

Air District meteorologists say northerly winds are forecast to persist through the weekend, bringing additional smoke into the area.

In general, air quality is expected to be bad during the late night and morning hours, with some improvement in the afternoon as mixing increases.

Afternoon sea breezes may also result in temporarily-improved air quality, mainly near the coast.

They say air quality conditions may change rapidly over short distances due to these subtle changes in wind direction, but overall, air quality is expected to remain poor into the weekend.

It’s definitely better so far today. My plants got some water, and I was able to get some shopping in. Along with everyone else in town, who were all doing the same thing.

I hope the winds stay on our side and help out the firefighters by not blowing. Pray to the wind gods, no wind please, please, please!!!!
