A man from Oakland was arrested in Concord today after he allegedly broke a window and ripped a stereo out of a truck on Willow Pass Rd., according to Concord Police.

A citizen witnessed the crime and alerted police, who located the suspect’s Chevy Suburban several blocks from the scene just before noon.

The suspect was identified by the citizen and the stolen stereo was found in the backseat and returned to the owner, according to police.

The suspect, a 22-year-old parolee, was taken to the county jail in Martinez.

Yay! Finally got one. Keep it up. Why Concord PD doesn’t saturate that area with undercover cops and bait cars I’ll never know. Put in a nice laptop (over $950 value) to steal. Come and get it, scum!

Elwood September 22, 2017 at 2:25 PM

Stereo worth less than $950?

Three days as a guest of the county.

No room for parole violators in state prison, you know.

Incognito September 22, 2017 at 2:33 PM

At 22 and already a “parolee”? Well, he’s off to a good start in life.

What a peach.

Clayton Squirrel September 22, 2017 at 2:51 PM

I like it when thieves are caught red handed. No matter what happens next, their day is ruined and it goes on their record. There’s no profit made here and the owner got their stereo back.

I’d like to see theives be required to work at sorting recycling or picking up trash to pay for restitution.

b doggle September 22, 2017 at 3:07 PM

lock that cage tightly!!! throw the key away. SCUMMMMMMM!!!!!! ps come on mayor

Thank Jerry Brown September 22, 2017 at 3:15 PM

There is more and more of this because we are so worried about “mass incarceration”.
Too bad they can’t drop him off in Jerry Brown’s neighborhood.

WC September 22, 2017 at 3:22 PM

Yeah. Jerry Brown’s early release program sucks, just like he does.

Pony September 22, 2017 at 3:31 PM

The owner will be on the hook for the deductible. At least he knows he will have a few days before this one gets out

MattfromConcord September 22, 2017 at 3:35 PM

Maybe the Oakland bad guy will sue the witness for emotional distress??
He was just out doing his normal job and now his livelihood had been disrupted.
That seem to be the thing to do these days

King Archie the Invincible September 22, 2017 at 3:37 PM

Two strikes and you’re out, anyone? Commit a crime, go to jail and serve your sentence. Commit another crime and you’re put to death. Enough liberal crap!

Mr. Pink September 22, 2017 at 3:39 PM

Looks like a nice, upstanding, misunderstood young man. Cut him loose. I’m sure he’s learned his lesson.

Savage September 22, 2017 at 4:36 PM

Lets cut off one of his hands as a reminder to him and the public that he is a thief, and cannot be trusted!!!

hmmmm September 22, 2017 at 4:49 PM

He’s got money to pay for all of those tattoos though.

Darwin September 22, 2017 at 4:59 PM

Nothing will happen ☹️ The DA is to backlogged to file on a misdemeanor

Shoulda Coulda September 22, 2017 at 5:25 PM

Thanks to the good citizen who reported
the crime and identified the scum bag.
Let’s watch out for each other. The police
can’t be everywhere. We’re all in this together.

Perchance is this another fine example of progressive liberal Democrat compassion? How about that only 22 and already a PAROLEE,
let us hope they gave him a trophy when he got paroled to improve his self image.

Wonder if he’s back out on our streets because of AB-109 or Prop 47 ???

AB-109 passed in 2011 changed sentencing on over 500 crimes causing thousands of State Prison Felons to be sent back from State Prison to the Counties they came from causing County Jail overcrowding through out the state.

“Long-term inmates — and prison culture — move into county jails”

So progressive liberals panicked when they realized how badly they had screwed up with AB-109 and they came up with another quick fix,
knee jerk plan Prop 47 to fix AB-109 caused problems. They spent $10,976,491 on Prop 47 with focus groups and psychologically crafted TV ads to con voters into bailing them out of the mess they created.

Common with guests of the State are immaturity, lack of empathy, few to NO job skills, lack of impulse control and usually low grades or a high school dropout. An let’s not forget substance abuse. An with state still having over 48,000 high school drop outs each year don’t count on crime going down.

If a liberal whines about how there are too many minorities incarcerated,
“75% of black California boys don’t meet state reading standards”

By the way because of how AB-109 was intentionally written, unless he’s a paroled murder, most he can get for the parole violation is 180 days County Jail time. BUT because of Jail overcrowding could end up doing anywhere from hours to maybe two weeks.

“Thanks to Prop. 47 and AB 109 the fastest growing industry in California is not agriculture or business—it is crime”

“Suspect in Whittier cop killing, East L.A. slaying was AB 109 probationer”

Remember to Thank a progressive liberal Democrat member of CA State Legislature and the other Democrats running this state for number of criminals walking our streets.

Do they really deserve to be re-elected?

anon September 22, 2017 at 5:56 PM

Non violent crime. He’s probably out of jail by now.

94521 September 22, 2017 at 6:14 PM

Yeah but he was just starting to turn his life around you mean old people just dont’ understand.Keep voting crap into office like Moonbeam and this is what you can expect in the future.

Be gentle September 22, 2017 at 6:38 PM

Yes! So good they caught another person who thinks they can just come right in our neighborhood and take whatever they want I’m sick of them! Thank you Concord PD thank you good citizen for catching this person!

America September 22, 2017 at 6:52 PM

AB109 and PROP 47 works so well. Markie Desalnier and Jerrry Brown need this fine gentleman as their neighbor. Fine upstating citizen that he is.

Amy September 22, 2017 at 6:55 PM

Great news!!! I agree there should be a stakeout with decoys to catch more of these scumbags. I hope the police can find out where they fence these stolen items and close them down too.

Poor Richard September 22, 2017 at 7:47 PM

Thieves have to commute now. Everything of value in Oakland has already been stolen or damaged.

JW September 22, 2017 at 9:22 PM

Someone broke my passenger wi dow last night and didn’t take anything. This guy looks like the kind of arse that would do that. Hope someone punches him in jail.

Dr. Jellyfinger September 22, 2017 at 10:10 PM

Between the gas taxes and the cigarette taxes today’s young underachievers have no choice but to resort to crime to just merely be able to drive & smoke!

BART_Depression200thPower September 22, 2017 at 10:26 PM

Drives a nicer truck than I do; maybe I should give up my full-time employment in favor of thievery.

Sucks to pay for a new window. 🙁

anonymous September 23, 2017 at 5:12 AM

Kudos to the citizen for being watchful and taking an active role. Good job CPD for getting this guy.

Russ Sayin September 23, 2017 at 6:39 AM

Whats a “stereo”???
Sirius XM stock radio listener

TIFOKCIS September 23, 2017 at 7:29 AM

How can I turn the blame on the evil car owner with a stereo that deserved to be stolen?

Where is your compassion for the poor, misguided, down on his luck ‘man’.

Let’s add LE to the judiial system to the list of ‘ruining this poor man’s life.

Yep, everyone is a bad guy except poor him.

It makes sense to me September 23, 2017 at 8:38 AM

Looks like a aftermarket stereo, that’s why I leave the factory ones in, not as desirable.

Waldo September 23, 2017 at 8:58 AM

A parolee??? Who would have thought???? Let’s try “three strikes and you’re shot!”

chuckie the troll September 23, 2017 at 9:29 AM

Already on parole at the age of 22? And now busted again? Another over-achiever from Oakland trying to make good in Concord.

With our increasingly lax laws concerning theft and property crimes in general, I don’t think there is much our police officers can do. As with fishing, catch and release allows them to get bigger and better at what they do.

Darwin September 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM

No it is not. Prop 47

Bumpitup September 23, 2017 at 3:51 PM

Lol it’s a CB radio! That’s a 10-4 good buddy, rubber ducky catch us on the downside.

Tim September 23, 2017 at 7:34 PM

Would like these comments printed and sent to this POS. Let him know what what the average citizen thinks of his stupid decisions. Makes you wonder what’s in his head, if anything!
