“Sen. John McCain almost certainly just killed TrumpCare — and gave a boost to managed-care stocks such as UnitedHealth (UNH) and Centene (CNC). The Arizona Republican declared that he couldn’t “in good conscience” vote for the Graham-Cassidy plan to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with block grants to states.”

Obamacare is still a creation solely of Democrats.
How fitting John McCain more Democrat than Republican has made sure they still own it.
Do no more, let the Democrat creation implode.

” We have to face facts. North Korea is doing exactly what China and Russia want it to do. There would be no nuclear weapon threat from North Korea without covert assistance from both China and Russia. Therefore, our negotiating strategy of relying on China and Russia to rein in the nuclear-weapons threat posed by North Korea makes absolutely no sense. President Trump must stop relying on Obama holdovers for strategic guidance. ” …

North Korea is rushing to compete work on a new submarine capable of launching multiple Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBMs).

” This submarine can be equipped with the newly-developed Pukguksong-3 missile. This new 3,000-ton submarine would replace the older class SINPO-class submarine of 2,000 tons which has only one launcher. The date for completion is before Sept. 9, 2018, the 70th anniversary of the founding of North Korea. ”

Federal government notifies 21 states of election hacking

States that told The Associated Press they had been targeted include Alabama, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. In most cases, they had not known until notified Friday by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Homeland Security officials tell the AP that in September hackers believed to be Russian agents targeted voter registration systems in more than 20 states.

Something to look forward to in 2018 US Senate elections.
Eight Republicans are up for reelection but twenty three Democrats are up for reelection plus the two Independents who vote Democrat most of the time are also up for reelection.

So call it 8 vs 25. Considering how many seats Democrats have lost at state and federal level since 2009 is not looking good for them. After obamacare implodes Republicans could well end up with 61 or more Senate seats.

No longer a President and Obama still won’t commit and risk HIS look good in history.

” Last week, at the foundation’s community meeting, President Barack Obama himself told residents that he would not sign a benefits agreement, which would put into writing the promises the foundation has made thus far on bringing jobs, economic development and resources to the South Side. ” …

” About 300 residents packed a South Side auditorium Wednesday night to demand that the promise of jobs, economic development and other benefits of the Obama presidential library center be put in writing.

The activists and residents want a community benefits agreement, something many say will protect the neighborhoods and people the center may displace.

“The soul of our city is at stake,” said Jay Travis, of the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization. “Will Chicago be home to all people regardless of race and income or will we sit back and watch city government systematically remove us?”

As the Obama Foundation continues to draft plans for the Obama Center, community stakeholders gathered Wednesday evening in the auditorium of Hyde Park Academy to renew their efforts to get the agreement, an idea the foundation has not embraced. ”

Then again we’ve seen Obama’s priorities.

” A judge in Washington, DC, on Thursday denied requests to dismiss the criminal cases against nearly 200 people charged with rioting in downtown Washington on President Donald Trump’s inauguration day. ” …

” District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Lynn Leibovitz, who heard arguments in July, issued an order Thursday denying all the motions to dismiss. The defendants are set to be tried in groups at separate times, with the first trial date scheduled for late November. Other trials are scheduled throughout 2018.

There are 194 cases pending; 19 defendants have pleaded guilty so far. The defendants all face felony rioting and property destruction charges, and some face additional charges. ”

” On 17 July, the DoJ served a website-hosting company, DreamHost, with a search warrant for every piece of information it possessed that was related to a website that was used to coordinate protests during Donald Trump’s inauguration. The warrant covers the people who own and operate the site, but also seeks to get the IP addresses of 1.3 million people who visited it, as well as the date and time of their visit and information about what browser or operating system they used. ”

Our democracy is in peril. We have a White House occupant that the majority did not want. We fight in wars a majority opposes. Our Congress pushes healthcare legislation a majority does not want.

We want our democracy to return ASAP.

Aspirin September 23, 2017 at 7:46 AM

Something else to look forward to in the 2018 elections: The present dismal performance of the failing GOP Congress will give the Democrats almost unlimited possibilities to defeat their GOP rivals.

Aspirin September 23, 2017 at 8:20 AM

Trump is furious over McCain’s refusal to support the latest GOP healthcare destruction.
“The president defended the GOP healthcare measure’s approach, which envisions the federal government sending grants to states to administer their own health care systems, and allowing them vast discretion over how to use the money. It would allow them to seek federal waivers to let insurers charge higher premiums to people with pre-existing medical conditions or to omit certain benefits that they are now required to provide, such as maternity care or mental health care.”
“Better control & management,” Mr. Trump wrote. “Great for Arizona.”

Great for Arizona, but lousy for California’s much, much larger population.

Ricardoh September 23, 2017 at 9:13 AM

I bet if someone asked Curry exactly what President Trump did that ticked him off he couldn’t come up with a decent answer.

Ricardoh September 23, 2017 at 9:15 AM

McCain knows the right hates him so he has decided in his last days to become the darling of the left. It’s all about McCain.

Venice September 23, 2017 at 10:37 AM

Now that President Trump’s great success is driving the lunatics of the academic left into even greater absurdities and thuggery, perhaps conditions are right for cleaning the swamp of campus corruption.
Any change will require the efforts of HONEST congressmen, fair-minded state legislators, the compromised Department of Education, wrongheaded university trustees, and the fed-up taxpayers who directly fund American “higher” education.
We need many more champions of the university’s mission to study and teach the best which has been thought and said in the world. Not the failing socio-leftist agenda that is destroying America. If this were done before now perhaps the brains of some commenters here wouldn’t be full of the swamp’s by-product.

America’s Whiniest ‘Victim’

Donald Trump is the reigning king of American victimhood.

This projection of vice, claiming of victimhood, and complaining about vanishing privileges make Trump an ideal front man for the kind of cultural anxiety, desperation and anger that disguises itself as a benign debate about public policy.

Dr. Jellyfinger September 23, 2017 at 1:20 PM

” President Donald Trump has doubled down on his criticism of NFL players who refuse to stand during the national anthem, despite fierce backlash from the league and players.

‘If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL, or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the national anthem,’ ”

grandmato3 September 23, 2017 at 4:37 PM

Steph Curry has the same rights as any of us to voice his opinion. Funny trump can tweet his fingers off voicing his opinions, many of them blatant lies, and his followers think it’s A-OK. Let anyone voice an opinion against trump and they can’t stand it. The majority of people do not like him, if your in the 35% who do, fine but don’t get your panties in a bunch if the rest of us have things to say about him you don’t like. ” Hundreds of homeless people in Salt Lake City have mysteriously vanished over recent weeks and residents are baffled as to why.
Following a police operation conducted in mid-August, Utah’s capital city has seen its down and out dwindle dramatically.

Homeless shelters and temporary housing facilities which once offered relief to the destitute in the downtown area are now empty, according to Sgt Brandon Shearer, who seems equally perplexed as he searches for homeless camps during helicopter patrols. ”

Check video tapes at bus station to see who is handing out one way tickets.

” For years, Oklahoma City tackled its homeless problem by handing out bus tickets to other cities to its down-and-out residents.”

” Oregon Just Set Aside $30,000 To Buy The Homeless One-Way Bus Tickets ”

Yea but it sounds so good on the press release.
” Since starting its “family reunification” program in 2011, the city of Denver has handed out roughly 540 one-way Greyhound bus tickets to other cities costing a total of $123,000. ” …

How to get rid of homeless criminals.
” A homeless Portland man with a lengthy criminal record moved to Denver and racked up even more charges there. Then, he received a one-way bus ticket back to Portland.

He’s still homeless, police say.

The news reveals that while Portland is giving hundreds of homeless people one-way tickets out of town, other cities are doing the same and sending homeless people to Portland. Some remain homeless once they get here. ”

” Despite an affordability crisis, Austin is attractive to people with a range of income, including the homeless.

This year, the homeless population grew by 17 percent according to Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO).

CBS Austin’s Nadia Galindo spoke to one man who was given a one-way bus ticket to Austin because of the resources the city offers. ”

So that’s it the more nanny state handouts progressive liberal cities hand out to the homeless and mentally ill the more other cities will sent their problems to them by way of one way tickets.

” Local advocates for the homeless confirm that for decades, government agencies, churches and social service agencies in other states have provided free transportation to San Diego and other California cities to help rid their own cities of transients.

According to lawsuit recently settled, a Nevada mental hospital was accused of sending 500 patients by Greyhound bus to San Diego and other California cities. ”

No wonder San Diego, LA and Santa Cruz have hepatitis issues.

” San Diego is awash with ‘fecal matter’ due to lack of public toilets and surging rates of homeless people, health officials warn as they try to control the hepatitis A outbreak ”

” Hepatitis A outbreak declared in Los Angeles County ”

” From a handful of cases in April, hepatitis A has spread to 65 people, many of them homeless and many of them drug users, and Dr. Arnold Leff, Santa Cruz County health officer ”

” City workers fear Hepatitis A outbreak among homeless in Oakland ” …
” It is those unsanitary conditions that has been the cause of the viral hepatitis outbreak among homeless in San Diego, which started in November 2016. Since then, nearly 400 cases have been documented and 15 deaths. Of that, 65 percent were homeless.

In April, a Hepatitis A outbreak happened in Santa Cruz where 89 percent of the 63 cases were contracted by the homeless population.

“It’s almost like a ticking time bomb that’s waiting to happen,” Dr. Runhjun Misra said. “At some point there’s going to be a disease outbreak.”

Dr. Misra has been pushing for prevention and suggests homeless in the Bay Area need to be vaccinated now. Additionally, she has been calling for better accessibility to clean water, soap, and bathrooms. ”

Progressive liberals so good at handing out your tax dollars trying to create their fantasy Utopian liberal Nanny State here in CA. Are they capable of controlling the rapidly growing health problem they created ???

These are the same people which oversaw building of just HALF a Bridge.

“Finally finished, it was completed TEN YEARS LATE and $5 Billion over budget. ”

21 states’ elections were hacked by Russians. This calls into question as to whether Trump was fairly elected.

Knowing that a possible (probable, actually) hacked election calls into question our entire election system don’t be surprised if this entire matter is swept under the carpet.

I choose to believe that Trump was not fairly elected.

Aspirin September 23, 2017 at 5:14 PM

As the investigation in Congress unfolds and uncovers more and more evidence of Russian interference in the election we learn that 21 states were hacked by outside interests (likely Russians) having a heavy stake in getting Trump in the White House.

A strong reason might very well be Russia’s hatred of Hillary.

Aspirin September 23, 2017 at 5:17 PM

Absolutely correct, These overpaid athletes with self focused egos even larger than their salaries are about as in tune with most Americans as career politicians are. As with career politicians are these athletes want attention, face time on TV.

Now in CA we have more than our share of those who don’t appreciate patriotism, what our Flag stands or any of the rest, but they will be among the first to whine they are being denied their “rights”. Now given time they might grow up, if not they could become mirror worshiping career politicians in Congress. Hear tell there are even a few failed bartenders there.

Sports figures and nothing more than paid performers, offend the audience and you will no longer have them, it is, exactly that simple.

Would not be at all surprised if NFL owners when offering contracts next time around will have muuch less money for player salaries.

Update today from Jeff Stone, CA Republican State Senator, on the further
destruction of CA by the Progressive Democratic Party in the “majority”:

Hello my friends,

Friday will be the end of this legislative year. Here are some of the highlights of this session:

1. SB-1: increases your gas taxes by approximately 20 Cents (Nov 1) and your vehicle license fees by an average of $100 (Jan 1st).

2. Passed Cap N Tax which will increase gas 0.63 to 0.93 cents a gallon change and the taxes that go with it.

3. Proposed increase on a new tax for every residence to must pay for tap water within the State!

4. A $3.46B parks bond to pay for parks in “disadvantaged communities” meaning Los Angeles. We will get the crumbs.
The debt service will be over $200 million a year. The good news is some money goes to help fix the Salton Sea which should have always been a State responsibility?

5. Law to release any lifer (murder, rape , child molestation, etc) who is : A) 60 years old; B) Already spent 25 years in prison! Charles Manson qualifies today, and the Melendez brothers who murdered their parents could be released in about 12 years? What about victims?

6. A new $10 charge on all residents living in mobile home parks to address living condition enforcement within those parks? Why does the Progressive left embrace these regressive taxes on the poor?

7. We picked an official dinosaur of the State of California. Really ? Yes!

8. Blackmail Tesla Motors to either unionize with the United Auto Workers Union, or forfeit all State incentives to buy their electric cars! Just another Union Grab!

9. Reduce from a felony to a misdemeanor the purposeful intent to transmit the AIDS virus to a unknowing partner.

10. Give preferential treatment to prisoners convicted of serious crimes that are less than 25 years old because their brains are not mature enough to understand right from wrong. Whaaat? My DAD’s belt taught me right from wrong real early in my life! If the brains of our kids don’t mature until 25, so why do we allow them to vote?

11. A bill to require true born sexual gender be omitted from all CA drivers licenses? Whaaat?

12. Free legal services for all illegal immigrants.

13. Establish safe “injection zones” run by government to oversee people injecting heroin! You have to be kidding me? Yep it passed!

Well enough good news for today. Back tomorrow with an update on our last minute legislative surprises. It’s an honor to represent you!

DEAR HILLARY, here’s what “really happened.”

Under your Russian Reset, the Crimea fell to Putin. The Ukraine came under threat, even as the U.S. backed out of missile-defense security promises to Poland and the Czech Republic.

Russian now owns tons of American uranium, approved by your State Department. Enough to destroy the free world.

You wasted the “Arab Spring” by betting on the wrong horse: Mohamed Morsi and the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood.

You told the media that you would not be Tammy Wynette and “just stand by your man.” But Tammy finally left George Jones. Instead you mocked and intimidated one female sexual-assault victim after another. Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick.

You called Lewinsky a “narcissisic looney tune,” even though she was not the one wielding cigars.

The email scandal buried you. Not because of Jim Comey, but because you lost the public’s trust. Comey let you off the hook. If it had been only about e-mails, you might have gotten a pass.

Loretta Lynch’s secret meeting with Bill Clinton on that Phoenix tarmac was so sinister that no one wondered if he had used thirty minutes alone with a woman, not-his-wife, for hanky-panky.

That “basket full of deplorables” remark. You shamelessly divided the American People into narrow classes of ethnic, racial, religious, gender slices of a political pie.

Lady Gaga, Madonna, Lena Dunham, Beyoncé, and LeBron were in your camp. But we the American people understood that to save the country from further tragedy, we needed to rise up and vote against you.

Furthermore I am not going to patronize any companies that advertise their products during the game, and I will be informing them of that via their online “contact us” options. I intend to encourage others to do the same.

So… they can have their protests without me, that isn’t what I watched the game for.. kneeling during the national anthem, locking arms in solidarity against patriotic America… whats next? Maybe burn the flag at half time?

F/O – NFL , You need us, we don’t need you!

Looks like Ted Cruz is not going to support the GOP killhealthcare bill.

Aspirin September 24, 2017 at 12:28 PM

Losses of healthcare jobs have already begun in anticipation of funding cuts, reductions, and revenue next year.

This is due, in large part, to the inaction of Trump and the GOP Congress to create a better healthcare system to replace the ACA.

The GOP crowed about defeating Obamacare over 50 times without proposing a single replacement.

This is a massive GOP legislative failure.

Replace the ACA or repair it, but DO SOMETHING a majority of Americans want and can use.

Jerk September 24, 2017 at 1:17 PM

Even crazier is that the nfl was able to have a 501(c)6 TAX EXEMPT status for 70 years!!!
And then the whole thing with the Military flying fighter jets over stadiums. So much for the whole separation of church and state.

Aspirin September 24, 2017 at 2:53 PM

Republicans are desperate to pass a healthcare bill, any bill, in order to save face and the end result be damned.

After decades of repeated failures in Congress to enact healthcare legislation Obama and the Democrats finally saved the day by passing the ACA.

The GOP immediately set out to destroy Obamacare rather than improve it. They wanted it to fail and they tried, and failed, over 50 times to get rid of it.

This same bunch of underperforming politicians are still trying to put one over on us, and again failing. This time they want to shove everything back to the states, as if this is something new.

The useless GOP is trying to take us backward into a failed system that made it necessary to create the ACA in the first place.

Now, the GOP is trying to do an end run around the CBO with yet another proposal. I guess the GOP thinks that flooding the process with endless changes will somehow get the votes.

Most of us are not fooled.

Badge1104 #21, New haircut? Trump has styled his hair the same way for the past 40+ years, as long I’ve been observing him in his relentless quest for the limelight. His hair is always parted far to the right side of his crown. From there some of it swoops out in front, cantilevered above his forehead where it dips down a bit, obscuring the fact (at least in his own mind) that he has no hairline, before continuing around to the left side. Some of it also spreads out over the top, covering his bald dome. All of the hair is fixed in place along the top, around the sides, and the down back with an extreme amount of industrial duty hairspray. Every strand of his hair ends up in the back of his head where it is always cut the same way, straight across the back of his neck. If you saw him with a new haircut, you must have been looking at the back of him.

A true AMERICAN and a Hero (Bronze Star Medal for Valor)

” The entire Pittsburgh Steelers team remained in the locker room during the national anthem, with the exception of one player: Army veteran Alejandro Villanueva, who plays offensive tackle for the Steelers.

While the rest of his teammates remained in the locker room, Villanueva stood in the tunnel holding his helmet in his left hand and holding his right hand over his heart as the anthem played.

Villaneuva played in college at West Point Military Academy before going on to become an Army Ranger. He served three tours in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor.

He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014 before eventually joining the Steelers.

An article earlier this year said that Villanueva first caught Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin’s eye “because of the way he stood during the national anthem.” ”

Perhaps what this country needs is for all Americans when they reach 18 male and female serve two years in the military.

DONE with the NFL.
Will not go to games or watch them on TV and will no longer buy from companies advertising a product during televised NFL games, same goes for companies of products endorsed by teams or players.

Players want to protest that is fine and because this is America it is their Right to do so.
I have the Right to decide how and when I spend my money.
NFL no longer deserves my attention or dollars.

” NFL players have defiantly reacted to President Donald Trump’s criticism, with at least 130 players kneeling, sitting linking arms, giving black power salutes and not even showing up for the national anthem out of protest.

Players from both the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars were the first to protest by taking a knee ahead of their game at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday morning. No players were kneeling during the playing of God Save The Queen – the British national anthem. ”

What will they do and say this time ?????

” Sudanese bodybuilder gunman bursts into Tennessee church and opens fire killing one woman and wounding six others before being taken down by hero armed usher ”

” ‘This is a mass casualty situation. All of the wounded have been transported to area hospitals. The majority are older adults,’ the fire department tweeted.

All of those wounded in the shooting except for one person is over the age of 60. ”

What will Pelosi, leftist media and other Democrats have to say tomorrow?

Old white folks getting shot up, wonder what will liberals ban after this Church shooting to stop it happening again?
Will it be flags, statues, buildings named after famous people?

This is what some of them had to say after Charleston, S.C., church shooting in which black folks were murdered by a deranged nut case white guy.

“ 70 percent of African Americans have a horrible view of Donald Trump,” Jones continued. “In order for the Democrats to win the White House they don’t have to get 50 percent of the black vote or 60, or 70, or 80, or 90, Democrats in order to win historically need 90 to 92 percent of the black vote. If only 70 percent don’t like Donald Trump, that means 30 percent are open to his argument. If he gets half of those, he’s president.”

Let this sink in slowly. Ensuring that Democrats continue to receive black votes in a monolithic block, it is in their interest for blacks to remain poor and resentful … ”

Will alphabet networks roll in their satellite trucks for non stop coverage?
Will the leftist media be there covering the funeral of the single Mother of two killed and will Democrat politicians show up?

Are we going to see the usual from Democrats and their sycophant leftist media?

OR will it be near silence because this time they can’t exploit the situation for racial division, or to get black votes for Democrats ?

Suggestion, over course of this week and next be an observer.
Keeping in mind level of reaction and statements by Obama, Pelosi, other politicians and liberal media after 2015 Charleston, S.C., church shooting, observe how many Democrats make statements and content of those statements as well as coverage of shooting today at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, Tennessee.

Note if any mention the shooter was finally stopped by a man with a permit to legally carry a firearm who went to his vehicle got his gun.

Did Hillary lose even though the Democrats used the government’s intelligence apparatus to try to rig the election?

It appears that Samantha Power, the UN ambassador under President Obama, requested the names of 260 American citizens included in intelligence reports of foreign officials during the presidential election and up to the inauguration.

Power’s requests were approved even though she was not involved in intelligence-gathering or counterintelligence investigations.

When members of congress found out that they were also being “unmasked”, they demanded that the Obama administration notify them so that any damaging leaks to the left-wing media could be assessed and monitored.

Samantha Power will testify before House and Senate intelligence committees in October in secret. But, she should be required to explain her actions in public, with no immunity from potential prosecution.

The Obama administration used their surveillance agencies as political weapons, in Hillary’s favor.

It’s amazing that Trump won in spite of the cards stacked against him.

@#86 rt
That would be djt trying to muffle free speech because he suggests that owners fire someone peacefully expressing a position. It is not directly a free speech issue because the govt is not making laws, but when the President suggests something, he is not speaking as djt, he is speaking as the President. Additionally, it shows how little djt understands about business in America. The NFLPA collectively bargains on behalf of the players. If an owner fired someone for arbitrary reasons (not defined in the cba) that owner would 1) have to pay the player no matter what, and 2) open themselves up to a wrongful termination lawsuit.

3rd Stanza of the Star Spangled Banner

‘No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.’

This stanza was written about the slaves that had decided to fight with the British in an attempt to gain their personal freedom in America. Exactly what the founders had done 25 years earlier, fight for their freedom. Remember, in 1776 T Jefferson removed his statement about slavery from the Declaration of Independence. When we ratified the Constitution it punted the slave issue another 20 years down the road. That 20 years had passed, and still nothing was done about slavery in America. How long would you have waited to try to be free?

Venice September 25, 2017 at 1:45 PM

The Star Spangled Banner lyrics “the hireling ” refers to the British use of Mercenaries (German Hessians) in the American War of Independence
The Star Spangled Banner lyrics “…and slave” is a direct reference to the British practice of Impressment (kidnapping American seamen and forcing them into service on British man-of war ships). This was a Important cause of the War of 1812
Francis Scott Key then describes the Star Spangled Banner as a symbol of triumph over all adversity
As a Snopes article rightly argues, the verse (written in the nineteenth century and out of popular usage for over a century) could very well refer to the British practice of impressment:

In fairness, it has also been argued that Key may have intended the phrase as a reference to the British Navy’s practice of impressment (kidnapping sailors and forcing them to fight in defense of the crown), or as a semi-metaphorical slap at the British invading force as a whole (which included a large number of mercenaries), though the latter line of thinking suggests an even stronger alternative theory — namely, that the word “hirelings” refers literally to mercenaries and “slaves” refers literally to slaves. It doesn’t appear that Francis Scott Key ever specified what he did mean by the phrase, nor does its context point to a single, definitive interpretation.

I agree with Hireling, I disagree about slavery and impressment. While impressing sailors was a cause of the War of 1812, your interpretation is not accepted fact. If you add in FSKeys history on slavery, the context would appear to lean in my favor. At the end of his life he was anti-slavery. Shortly after the Wo1812 he was a US attorney that fought to suppress abolitionism. History has many facets, and context is a key to understanding what it meant at the time (which makes me wonder why the American would use a British phrase).

Think about it, on a ship in the middle of an ocean an impressed sailor would fight. If you took that same sailor and let him out on his home soil and told him to go kill his countrymen…slaves meant black slaves that were fighting with the British in an attempt to free themselves from slavery by Americans.

What liberals and knee takers don’t know.

“The moment a fallen sailor was returned to her family in Oklahoma was so overwhelming for passengers on a commercial flight it brought nearly everyone to tears.

Passenger Mike Helms said when his plane landed at Will Rogers World Airport Thursday night, the crew informed passengers of the special significance of the flight.

‘When we stopped at the terminal, the pilot announced that he would like to inform us that we were flying one of our fallen soldiers home to her family,’ Helms wrote to Facebook.” …

“Helms said as he looked outside, he could see the casket, draped in the American flag, emerging from the plane.

Next to it, the mother and father of Brooke Newton, 25, were hysterically crying, and members of her unit were saluting her.

‘This moment hit me hard for some reason. I couldn’t hold back tears. As I looked around the plane, I was hoping nobody would see my moment of weakness… But to my surprise, damn near everyone on the plane was crying,’ he recounted.

‘It was amazing to see people of all races and religions on the Delta flight that night pay their respects to a soldier and her family,’ Helm said. ”

“The ultimate sacrifice: Heartbreaking moment a grieving widow meets her hero Green Beret husband’s coffin on the airport tarmac – leaving scores of plane passengers in tears”

“Gold Star Family Shares Their Heartache Over Disrespect for Flag at Protests”
“We are forgetting someone in this NFL vs. fans fight. They are the most important people among us. The ones who sent loved ones off to war never to see them again. These families have had to sit silently watching a bunch of spoiled, mostly incoherent dunces spit on the flag that bears the blood of their loved ones.

That flag is draped over coffins that arrive in Dover, Delaware. The homecoming the loved ones had imagined, planned for, hoped for was destroyed. Instead, they stand on a tarmac and have to somehow move leaden legs forward to greet the one who didn’t make it. This is all that is left. After a lifetime of hugs and smiles, kisses and laughs, what’s left is a box draped in a flag. That flag, carefully folded up and given to spouses, children, and parents, is supposed to reassure us that the sacrifice of our loved one is worth it.”

Four of the prototypes will be made of concrete while the other four will be made of alternate materials. All of the models will be between 18 to 30 feet high and 30 feet long.

“We are committed to securing our border and that includes constructing border walls. Our multi-pronged strategy to ensure the safety and security of the American people includes barriers, infrastructure, technology and people,” Ronald Vitiello, acting deputy commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said in a statement Tuesday.”

As expected progressive liberal democrats running CA state legislature did their usual petulant child knee jerk routine ensuring contractors doing the work are not from CA thereby ensuring loss of tax revenue and probably employment of Californians.

New York Times has called Roy Moore the winner of U.S. Senate Primary Runoff in Alabama.

Was reported US Senate Leadership Fund spent 830k to help Luther Strange. What was Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell so afraid of?

“If Moore wins, McConnell will have to work with a senator who has called for him to step down and who has built his brand around a willingness to upset political order — a threat to the routine of the Senate, which runs on unanimous consent and precedent. In a fundraising email this month, Moore pledged to “NEVER back down or compromise on our deeply held values and principles.” He also said he would lead an effort to replace McConnell of Kentucky with “a conservative willing to work with Donald Trump to Drain the Swamp.” ”

“The Department of Homeland Security has issued a waiver to waive certain laws, regulations and other legal requirements to ensure the expeditious construction of barriers in the vicinity of the international border near Calexico, California. The waiver was published in the Federal Register today.

This waiver is pursuant to authority granted to the Secretary of Homeland Security by Congress and covers a variety of environmental, natural resource, and land management laws.

The Department has exercised the waiver authority in Section 102 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA), as amended, on five previous occasions from 2005 to 2008, as well as exercising this waiver authority earlier this year for a project in the San Diego area, which was announced in August.”

Donald Trump may have blamed his inadequate response to the devastation in Puerto Rico on “this thing called the Atlantic,” but his own failed golf course may have made it worse. According to a report by Death & Taxes, the Coco Beach Golf and Country Club in San Juan (renamed to Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico in 2008) borrowed more than $26 million in “government-backed bonds” to pay for renovations and old debts — but then defaulted nearly $120,000, declaring bankruptcy and leaving Puerto Rican Americans to pay the $32.7 million bill. According to a PolitiFact Florida report from earlier this year, Trump’s complicated relationship with the failed San Juan golf course started in 2008, when he entered a deal with the club to re-license under his brand and turn the club around as it was “hemorrhaging money.” The resort hosted the PGA’s Puerto Rican Open that year, but by 2011, the “resort sought more bonds to repay the earlier bonds.” The following year, Trump pocketed more than $600,000 in profits. By the time the resort filed for bankruptcy in 2015, it had done so under it’s original name. At the time, Eric Trump claimed his family’s business had “zero financial investment in this course” and merely lent it their name and managed their golf course, but the report stated he “filed a bankruptcy claim for about $927,000 for unpaid fees on behalf of Trump Golf Coco Beach LLC.” Additionally, a BuzzFeed report from 2016 proved that the Trump Organization promised to turn the club around — and then left the Puerto Rican government with their defaulted payments. After Trump finally spoke out on Twitter about Puerto Rico’s financial woes that led to their difficulties paying for relief, a Twitter user who claims to “track” Trump’s spending responded with the PolitiFact report about his former golf course’s role in exacerbating the island territory’s financial crisis.

Aspirin is lying AGAIN and posting fake news.

Elwood September 28, 2017 at 2:02 PM

@ Aspirin #153

What if Trump could fly and be fitted with machine guns?

Then he’d be REALLY dangerous!

And you’d still be a loony!

Elwood September 28, 2017 at 2:05 PM

@ Aspirin #154

I guess you put them in their place!

AlwaysBePositive September 28, 2017 at 2:38 PM

@#152 a
What are you talking about? If you are referencing conversations you have with yourself you’re going to have to add some context.
@#154 a
One thing we could know for certain. Gorsuch would be impeached (through no fault of his own) because he will have been appointed by someone who attained the power to appoint through fraudulent means.

Hey djt voters!
djt sold you on the claim that he would force American companies to keep jobs in America. djt said that Carrier is keeping jobs here, and Foxconn would be bringing 1,000’s of jobs to Wisconsin. Well, he saved about 600 Carrier jobs and the parent company closed a different plant in the next town with those 700 jobs going to Mexico. djt also claimed that Foxconn would be bringing in 1,000’s of jobs. Now that the deal is in place, it turns out that Foxconn rec’d almost $3 billion dollars in tax breaks, and Wisconsin should start seeing an economic benefit in the early 2040’s. What a negotiator.

djt sold you, you bought it. Sorry, no returns.

Trump tramps in and it all falls apart.

Is America bankruptcy #7 ?

We’re gonna find out.

Aspirin September 28, 2017 at 6:12 PM

Elwood, I try. Someone needs to keep ’em on their toes.

Defiance by progressive liberal Democrat politicians has once again had the opposite of their stated purpose of protecting illegals in CA.
About the only thing CA Democrat politicians do consistently is screw up.

” Immigration officials on Thursday announced hundreds of arrests in an operation targeting communities where police and elected officials have refused to fully cooperate on enforcing federal immigration laws.

ICE said it arrested 167 people in and around Los Angeles, a region in which several cities and counties have been tagged by justice officials as being so-called sanctuaries — a loosely defined term used to describe local governments that restrict police from assisting immigration authorities in identifying and detaining people suspected of being in the country illegally.

Arrests were also made in San Francisco and San Jose. ”

Police are going replace sirens with The National Anthem to cause criminals stop and take a knee.

Original G September 28, 2017 at 6:22 PM

Absolutely zero surprise. Long term effect of CA turned into a socialist nanny state run by bumbling CA progressive liberal Democrat politicians.

“Despite boasting one of the largest economies in the world, California has consistently topped national rankings of poverty. While the state only accounts for about 12 percent of the national population, for example, Californians comprise one-third of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families beneficiaries.”

Out of the entire United States of America, “Californians comprise one-third of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families beneficiaries.”

More OPINION from ABP. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

AlwaysBePositive September 29, 2017 at 7:51 AM

@#167 v
Opinion, based on fact. Tell me which part is untrue.

@#168 a
Did you reread your post I was referring to?

No tax reform until we see how it directly impacts the President/

Venice September 29, 2017 at 9:30 AM

You offer ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF of your claims, proving there is none, yet you expect me to provide proof you’re posting only your opinion (lying)?
You’re really special, aren’t you!

AlwaysBePositive September 29, 2017 at 10:58 AM

@#172 v
1) Your logic is faulty, I offer no proof of the world being round…and it is.
2) I don’t care if you look up what I say or not, your mind, like a parachute works better when it is open. If you see me lying, point it out. Unlike some posters here I have admitted mistakes and corrected my posts based on information provided to me by others.
3) Why yes, I am special. Thanks for noticing.

Medicare for all!

@aspirin #131….

As opposed to the left wing tools already on the SCOTUS?

And btw, this is not a democracy – so-called or otherwise. Ever hear of a democratic republic? Thought not….

Your knowledge of civics is zero.

Venice September 29, 2017 at 2:47 PM

I commend you for admitting your comments are nothing but opinion.
Your acquiescence is acknowledged and you’re a better person for that.

AlwaysBePositive September 29, 2017 at 3:52 PM

@#148 fp
Ooohh, you understand that we elect people to elect our President and our elected representatives vote in our place on everyday issues. Congratulations smarty pants, how is it that we elect our state representatives and senators? How about our national Representatives and Senators? Ever hear of a democracy? Your knowledge of civics is incomplete at best.

@#149 v
I assume you are replying to me (another vague post v) but I never said my posts are nothing but opinion, I base my opinions on facts and when I find my facts are wrong I’m intellectually strong enough to admit my mistakes. By the way, I’m still waiting to see any proof that impressed sailors fought on their home country’s soil in 1812.

No tax reform until we see how it benefits the Presidents personal situation.

Aspirin September 29, 2017 at 5:45 PM

This rotten Administration has been shown to be untrustworthy in so many areas it is hard to imagine that this latest tax scheme will not greatly benefit Trump and his buddies.
