There’s only one thing that can be said about Hillary’s new book.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpQ6X4ojHws

10 SF oh September 16, 2017 at 7:53 AM

This week Hillary showed her true colors once again by going on her national book tour/pity party, while millions of Americans were devasted by hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Hillary merrily charged entrance fees to book signings for her doting dolt supporters and also made several tv appearances whining and blaming everyone but herself for the loss. From what I’ve heard, the book contains a line that asks something like, “why do I create such fury? … I’m asking – because I really don’t understand it.” She is so self-centered and clueless – she will never understand it.

14 Dr. Jellyfinger September 16, 2017 at 11:21 AM

North Korean missiles look just like Chinese missiles… coincidence?
No way. .. and lets remember it was Bill Clinton who ok’d the transfer of technology to China to improve missile guidance ( for thousands of dollars in illegal campaign contributions from China that is).

http://eagleforum.org/psr/1998/june98/psrjune98.html

15 Dr. Jellyfinger September 16, 2017 at 11:32 AM

That was kinda long… but to sum it up:

In 1996, President Bill Clinton personally signed an executive order transferring control of satellite technology to the Department of Commerce; thus releasing restraints on a wide variety of sophisticated space and missile technology which were then exported to China.

Scandals were exposed involving democrat fundraising and Chinese interests, the mysterious death of Commerce Secretary Ron Brown and the scandal involving the Loral Corporation’s alleged illegal transfer of technology under the direction of its CEO who was a prominent democrat fundraiser, suffice it to say that some of that guidance and control system technology wound up aboard the Chinese DF-31 missile.

Also to be noted, the Chinese are not our friends and consistently export arms and missiles to those who do not wish America well, including North Korea.

GOP strategist and political commentator, Jen Kerns, offered a slam dunk assessment of Hillary Clinton’s blame game:

You know, it’s been said by a few folks this week that Hillary Clinton is like the O.J. Simpson of politics. She’s still out there a year later looking for the real killer of her campaign. Turns out it was her. I tend to agree with that.

I can tell you as a campaign press secretary for the last ten years, this is what happens. This is a textbook case of a candidate surrounding themselves with yes-people. They surround themselves with people who tell them what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

I always had a policy, I told candidates: “I will never lie for you, and I’ll never lie to you – and that includes giving you the hard advice.” It’s very clear this week, and this book tour, that Hillary Clinton has still not had advisers close to her that have been willing to really tell her the hard truth, which is she bears the burden of the blame for her failed campaign.

Thank you President Trump for saving us from that horrible excuse for a human being.

‘Alleged SF killer had been released from jail despite request for immigration hold’

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials lodged what is known as a detainer request for Jesus Perez-Araujo, 24, after he was arrested three months before the Aug. 15 street killing of 23-year-old Abel Enrique Esquivel Jr., said ICE spokesman James Schwab. The agency asked the city to hold him for up to 48 hours after his release.

But San Francisco, and every other county in the Bay Area, does not honor detainer requests because of concerns that they violate inmates’ constitutional rights. And San Francisco, where leaders have rallied behind sanctuary policies that limit local cooperation in deportation efforts, notifies ICE in advance of an inmate’s release only under strict circumstances.”…

“Despite the detainer, local authorities made the decision to release him back into the community without providing any notification to ICE, resulting in another arrest that may have been averted had the city chosen to cooperate with ICE,”

5 Reasons Bernie’s Health Care Plan Is Just AWFUL –

The “Medicare For All Act Of 2017” would essentially eliminate private insurance for most Americans and impose higher taxes. Here are five reasons why Bernie’s plan, endorsed by 15 idiot senators and 117 lunatic representatives, is just plain awful.

1.) It will dramatically increase payroll taxes. Here’s a helpful tip: anytime a politician says “free,” just immediately add a few percentages to your tax bracket, which would definitely be the case in Bernie’s plan, which calls for a 7.5% payroll tax on employers and a 4% “income-based premium” on all Americans. Sanders made a similar, albeit much more modest, proposal of 6.2% payroll tax increase last year, and according to a 2016 analysis of that proposal by Emory University Professor Kenneth Thorpe, the payroll tax would reduce wages.

“The new tax burden would vary dramatically by income. Low-income working families would pay 2.2 percent of taxable income and face a 6.2 percent reduction in wages traced to the employer payroll tax,” he wrote. “Individuals and families earning over $250,000 would face a 40 percent increase in taxes to finance the plan and pay for most of the new costs of the plan.”

2.) It will cost trillions. The estimated initial costs (this is before years of inflation, mind you) is projected at $2.5 trillion per year, which would create an “average of over $1 trillion per year financing shortfall,” according to Thorpe. That means the projected cost does not match the revenue stream, which in turn will require higher taxes than Bernie’s 7.2% payroll tax.

“To fund the program, payroll and income taxes would have to increase from a combined 8.4 percent in the Sanders plan to 20 percent while also retaining all remaining tax increases on capital gains, increased marginal tax rates, the estate tax and eliminating tax expenditures,” said Thorpe.

3.) High costs means price controls. As noted by National Interest, the only way our government overlords can adequately impose stringent budgets on something as elusive as healthcare is to essentially create cost controls in the “form of old-fashioned price controls or periodic payment cuts to doctors, hospitals or other medical professionals.”

“The little problem, of course, is that payment reductions for medical services always affect the patients who need those services,” notes NI. “Cost control through budgetary limitations or medical-payment cuts typically reduces the access that patients have to treatment, starting with progressively longer waiting lists.”

4.) Bureaucrats will determine appropriate healthcare, NOT you. As Americans woefully witnessed during the horrific Charlie Gard case in Britain, if the government foots the bill for healthcare, then government gets the final say. Sanders claims the new system will be “simple” and free Americans of having to haggle with insurers, but that is a lie. Instead of haggling with insurers, whom they can always threaten to leave, Americans will now be forced to fight with government bureaucrats for their medical needs.

“Government officials cannot control the demand for medical services; they can only control the supply of medical goods and services,” NI reports. “In practice, this means that government officials must determine what kind of care patients get, how they get it, under what circumstances they get it, and how those services will be ‘priced.’ (They don’t negotiate prices; they fix them.)”

“The Medicare program, with its tens of thousands of pages of rules and regulations and guidelines, demonstrates that painful fact daily to any Medicare patient struggling with a Medicare claims denial, or any doctor or any other medical professional wrestling with Medicare paperwork. Meanwhile, forget personal freedom.”

5.) If you like your healthcare plan, you sure CANNOT keep it. Period. Even under Obamacare, private health insurance still remains. That will officially be over should Bernie’s “Medicare For All” program become the law of the land. Unless you happen to fall into the upper-income brackets and can afford your own private insurer, you will be forced to grovel at the feet of Uncle Sam for all of your healthcare needs.

Take your Medicare For All and store it in that dark location where the sun never shines.

31 SF oh September 17, 2017 at 8:46 AM

When I heard about the Sanctuary State passing, I was angry. But the more I thought about it, I realized I’m not angry – I’m sad. I’m almost in mourning because, I miss the California I once knew. I was lucky – I grew up in this area when California was a great place to live. Nice, safe neighborhoods – good schools – a beautiful area. Our family would often go to Lake Merritt for the day, or Berkeley, or San Francisco for dinner at the wharf….. Now – I never go to Oakland or Berkeley. Visiting San Francisco is just depressing – it’s awful to see such a beautiful city in shambles. California is nothing but crime, deadbeats and filth. Our politicians have sold us out for votes and to line their own pockets … and we’ve let them do it! So, I just feel sad – not so much for me but for my kids and their kids. They’ll never experience the beautiful California I knew- and it’s just going to get worse.

32 SF oh September 17, 2017 at 10:05 AM

I saw a story on the Los Angeles news. Average citizens of Sylmar were out demonstrating and demanding the police and city government do something about the homeless population that has overrun their town. People said they are constantly harassed by homeless asking for money. It’s gotten to the point where people come out of their houses and find homeless using their garden hoses for showers. Great – I guess we have that to look forward to also.

33 AlwaysBePositive September 17, 2017 at 12:38 PM

@#25 v
Your points,
#1 You don’t know what % payroll taxes will increase because it is not spelled out yet. Sen. Sanders did not say it was free, he has clearly said it will be paid for through taxes. While mentioning tax increases, you fail to mention that we will not have to pay private health insurance premiums and your employer won’t either.
#2 It would cost trillions under the current insurance funding system. That system would no longer exist. Remember, the US currently pays about twice as much per capita for healthcare with worse outcomes than the rest of the industrialized world.
#3 If you don’t think your healthcare decisions are already being made to benefit the corporation that covers you, you just aren’t paying attention.
#4 See #3, but I’d rather have a govt bureaucrat making those decisions than a mid-mgmt type whose bonus depends on profit for the corporation.
#5 You are right, because all private health insurance plans (other than those that provide the benefits all Americans receive) will not exist. Even those with low lifetime limits, no maternity coverage, or no mental health coverage. You are wrong in the characterization of what the market will look like.

@#29 cd
Democrats can’t be trusted on national security? Who was in charge when the towers came down? A Republican.

@#30 g
?
@#31 fp
The 6th Amendment for example. Who pays for your right to a speedy trial by jury? You have supported my position, we already all pay for the things that benefit us, why should healthcare be any different? And healthcare has nothing to do with supply and demand. Last time you went to your doctor, did you think about shopping around to find the best deal, the most convenient time for you, or even the past history of available providers? I’d be glad to debate the economics of healthcare, it is not a free market.

Medicare for all! Start by lowering the qualification age to 60 and adding it as an option to all areas that do not have health insurance competition now.

34 ClayDen September 17, 2017 at 1:51 PM

Who had the chance to take out Bin Laden before 9/11 but decided not to? Who was the President when the North Tower of the WTC was bombed in 1993, but failed to recognize the threat?

If you answered Bill Clinton, you win a gold star. Admittedly, he hadn’t been President very long when the bombing occurred, however, he WAS President for several years before he had the chance to have Bin Laden taken out.

What Happened: Hillary Clinton’s “scab-picking” book tour

Politico reports that “Democratic operatives can’t stand the thought of Hilary picking the scabs of 2016,” fearing she will alienate the Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren fringe of her party ahead of next year’s midterm elections.

She and her more dedicated surrogates say those who did not vote for her are among the new-and-improved right-wing-conspiracy, or Alt-Right.

They are racist, sexist, uneducated know-nothings. They don’t like the wit and wisdom of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow or the sage advice of the New York Times’ editorial board.

They are among the growing army of nonconformists unmoved by popular culture’s daily transmitted marching orders. And they aren’t enamored with Republicans either.

Hillary Clinton was chosen by Democratic Party elites. They rigged the primaries in her favor because they believed her to be untouchable. For nearly two decades, she deftly defended herself and her husband against the attacks that arose with every Clinton scandal.

I have Medicare, and get my health care through Kaiser, and it’s the same care everyone else gets through Kaiser. I it’s always been good, and they’ve extended my life numerous times. Kaiser has no reason to waste money on unnecessary surgeries and treatments, and though I’ve heard about errors, I have to say that my personal lifetime experiences with every professional in the system has been very positive. I’ve never run across anyone who didn’t exceed standards of medical training. I can’t say the same for my experience with elderly mother. Her end of life care was a patchwork of missed opportunities to help her, till they finished her off with C-DIFF.

Food Stamp Usage Has Fallen Every Month Under Trump –

New statistics from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) indicate that the use of food stamps has declined every month under the Trump administration.

The number of people using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dropped to 41,310,785 in June 2017, which is more than 2,000,000 fewer participants than in June 2016 and the lowest participation rate since 2010, when it was 40,302,000.

Since President Trump’s inauguration in January, the number of SNAP participants has dropped steadily every month, the largest drops from January to February (408,956) and March to April (521,295). Here are the numbers for January to June (the most recent available data):

Jan 2017 – 42,691,363
Feb 2017 – 42,282,407
March 2017 – 42,187,255
April 2017 – 41,665,960
May 2017 – 41,489,433
June 2017 – 41,310,785
This trend is not expected to slow down anytime soon; the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects a steady 1-2% decline in participation per year for at least the next ten years unless the left wing lunatics get their way again.

Buyers from outside the USA are driving up prices as they did in British Columbia, Canada. BC had to put in a transfer tax to stop Canadians from being priced out of the market. Vancouver saw year over year home price increases of over 30%.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4214814/Foreign-buyers-driving-home-prices-Vancouver.html

A 15% property tax on foreign home buyers in the Canadian city of Vancouver has taken effect in an effort to create more affordable housing.

The tax is aimed at preventing foreign investors, many from mainland China, from driving up costs in Canada’s most expensive property market.

British Columbia’s property transfer tax rates currently range from 1% to 3%, depending on a home’s value.

The average cost of a Vancouver home increased 32% over a year.

“President Donald Trump told world leaders the U.S. would no longer be ‘taken advantage of’ as he blasted trade deals that he says caused millions of jobs to vanish.”…

” ‘But we can no longer be taken advantage of or enter into a one-sided deal where the United States gets nothing in return.’

‘As long as I hold this office,’ Trump vowed: ‘I will defend America’s interests above all else, but in fulfilling our obligations to our nations, we also realize that it’s in everyone’s interests to seek the future where all nations can be sovereign, prosperous, and secure.’ “…

” ‘In foreign affairs, we are renewing this founding principle of sovereignty’,’ the president said. ‘Our government’s first duty is to its people, to our citizens, to serve their needs, to ensure their safety, to preserve their rights, and to defend their values.’ ”

” ‘For too long the American people were told that mammoth, multinational trade deals, unaccountable international tribunals, and powerful global bureaucracies were the best way to promote their success,’ Trump said.

‘But as those promises flowed, millions of jobs vanished and thousands of factories disappeared. Others gamed the system and broke the rules, and our great middle class, once the bedrock of American prosperity, was forgotten and left behind, but they are forgotten no more and they will never be forgotten again,’ he said. ”

Obama proved to the world, … Weakness Invites Provocation.

“My fellow Americans:
At 7 o’clock this evening eastern time air and naval forces of the United States launched a series of strikes against the headquarters, terrorist facilities, and military assets that support Mu`ammar Qadhafi’s subversive activities. The attacks were concentrated and carefully targeted to minimize casualties among the Libyan people with whom we have no quarrel. From initial reports, our forces have succeeded in their mission.

Several weeks ago in New Orleans, I warned Colonel Qadhafi we would hold his regime accountable for any new terrorist attacks launched against American citizens. More recently I made it clear we would respond as soon as we determined conclusively who was responsible for such attacks.”…

” We Americans are slow to anger. We always seek peaceful avenues before resorting to the use of force — and we did. We tried quiet diplomacy, public condemnation, economic sanctions, and demonstrations of military force. None succeeded. Despite our repeated warnings, Qadhafi continued his reckless policy of intimidation, his relentless pursuit of terror. He counted on America to be passive. He counted wrong. I warned that there should be no place on Earth where terrorists can rest and train and practice their deadly skills. I meant it. I said that we would act with others, if possible, and alone if necessary to ensure that terrorists have no sanctuary anywhere. Tonight, we have.

Thank you, and God bless you.”

RUSH LIMBAUGH: Trump’s United Nations speech was unlike any speech by an American president. He stood up for America first. And he put the United Nations in its place.

Bibi Netanyahu, I thought, was gonna jack-in-the-box out of the seat with a standing ovation when Trump launched into Iran. It was one of the happiest I’ve ever seen an Israeli at the United Nations.

Obama never said a thing at the UN other than to signal the world why he wasn’t being more authoritarian. (Imitating Obama), “Why didn’t we just put that man that made the video that caused Benghazi in jail? . . . Well, we did, but we can’t because of our laws.”

It was almost like Obama was explaining to fellow authoritarians why he couldn’t do what he really wanted to do. “Because of our laws.” As though the world doesn’t know of our Constitution and freedom.

Imagine the horror when all these members of the UN General Assembly, leftist viewers, the Drive-By Media, when they heard Trump say, “The USA has been among the greatest forces for good in the history of the world”.

They live with a delusion that — be they benevolent, mean-spirited, or brutal, as dictators they can bring about the same kind of prosperity that exists in the U.S. They see freedom, liberty, the spirit that is created by entrepreneurism, and they are jealous.

None of the world leaders I’m talking about would ever give their people the chance to be free, because they could not trust free elections.

Trump said, “The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that it has been faithfully implemented.”

The United Nations is the perfect example of the unequal distribution of freedom and capitalism, and the over distribution of socialism and communism.

My post for today comes after I read an article about changing your mind on topics. It’s very hard to do as many people cling to their beliefs and reinforce them by communicating with people who share their viewpoint.

My challenge to you: Think of something good or nice that each of our two presidential candidates has done.

I know there is a lot of hate out there but can you sincerely say something out loud to yourself that compliments the one that frequently makes you angry? Is he or she right about something? One thing? That doesn’t mean that you accept actions that you disagree with but it might help you realize that neither of them is 100% bad.

Trump administration officials, under pressure from the White House to provide a rationale for reducing the number of refugees allowed into the United States next year, rejected a study by the Department of Health and Human Services that found that refugees brought in $63 billion more in government revenues over the past decade than they cost.

The draft report, which was obtained by The New York Times, contradicts a central argument made by advocates of deep cuts in refugee totals as President Trump faces an Oct. 1 deadline to decide on an allowable number. The issue has sparked intense debate within his administration as opponents of the program, led by Mr. Trump’s chief policy adviser, Stephen Miller, assert that continuing to welcome refugees is too costly and raises concerns about terrorism.

Advocates of the program inside and outside the administration say refugees are a major benefit to the United States, paying more in taxes than they consume in public benefits, and filling jobs in service industries that others will not. But research documenting their fiscal upside — prepared for a report mandated by Mr. Trump in a March presidential memorandum implementing his travel ban — never made its way to the White House. Some of those proponents believe the report was suppressed. http://nyti.ms/2fa8Wkg

San Diego has more than 420 cases and 16 deaths this year, while Santa Cruz County has 69 known cases.

Hepatitis A is a viral liver disease that can spread through ingesting food and drinks that have come in contact with feces of people who are already infected.”

As expected CA is filing suit against the border wall.
University of CA has filed suit over DACA.

An there is a good possibility President Trump will appoint one possibly two Supreme Court justices in 2018.

As to California Attorney General Xavier Becerra suing over border wall,
“The Trump administration on Tuesday waived environmental laws and other reviews to replace a small stretch of border wall in Calexico, California, the second time it has exercised that authority in less than two months.

Critics said the move was an overreach and a threat to the environment.

The waiver extends 3 miles (5 kilometers) west from the downtown border crossing in the city of 40,000 people, according to a notice in the Federal Register.

The Department of Homeland Security will replace an airstrip landing-mat-style fence about 14 feet (4.3 meters) high with a bollard-style fence up to 25 feet (7.6 meters) high.

Elaine Duke, the acting Homeland Security secretary, said replacing fence in the area was one of the highest priorities for border security. The government plans to award a contract in November and begin construction in February.

It marks the seventh time the government has waived environmental reviews under a 2005 law. That law exempts the government from the National Environmental Protection Act, which calls for extensive reviews of environmental impacts, and a host of other laws.

Last month, Homeland Security waived reviews for a 15-mile (24-kilometer) stretch in San Diego.”

Hooray for Carbon Dioxide! It’s Helping to Feed the World’s Hungry
By H. Sterling Burnett
Among the greatest challenges humankind has faced throughout its history, feeding the world’s hungry ranks at or near the very top of the list. And with the world’s population expected to top nine billion between 2050 and 2100, this issue will surely become even more important in the coming decades.

However, what many people may not realize is that the carbon dioxide humans have been pumping into the air since the middle of the 20th century has enriched plant growth, thereby contributing to record crop yields, which has helped to bring about the largest decline in hunger, starvation, and malnutrition in human history.

Most of the world’s plant life arose during times when carbon-dioxide levels were much higher than they are today. Over time, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere slowly declined, to the extent that during the most recent ice age, atmospheric carbon-dioxide levels fell to dangerously low levels — just 180 parts per million (ppm). Plants begin to die when carbon dioxide reaches 150 ppm, because they are unable to use sunlight to photosynthesize food from carbon dioxide and water. After humans emerged from the previous ice age, carbon-dioxide levels rose to approximately 280 ppm, still far below the levels existing when plant life began to colonize the land.

Let’s be clear: If plants die, humans and almost all other living beings on Earth will perish as well, so, historically speaking, higher carbon-dioxide levels are positive and associated with more life on Earth.

The addition of approximately 120 ppm carbon dioxide to the atmosphere by humans — through the burning of fossil fuels, slash-and-burn agriculture, and various other actions — is making plants grow stronger, more quickly and abundantly, and improving the efficiency with which they use water. (Under higher carbon-dioxide conditions, plants lose less water through their stoma during transpiration.)

Since the widespread development and use of fossil fuels, world poverty and hunger have declined precipitously. Despite adding 3.2 billion people to the planet since 1968, poverty and hunger have fallen at a faster rate than at any time in human history.

Contrary to the predictions made by 1968 Malthusian environmentalists such as Paul Ehrlich, who said in his woefully mistaken 1968 jeremiad The Population Bomb, “The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now,” more people are better fed today than ever before.

Giddyup … Thank You for mentioning fake passports. Was widely know during Obama administration there were passport problems in the Mideast yet they went ahead with allowing “refugees” in. Terrorists as they waltzed thru Iraq and other countries robbed banks, picked up radioactive isotopes and everything needed to crank out passports.

It is interesting that a decision to attack a nonexistent enemy, like Iraq, Vietnam and Afghanistan for instance, sails through Congress no problem while American healthcare remains a partisan free-for-all year in and year out.

We’re good at killing people but not so good at saving people.

92 Aspirin September 21, 2017 at 8:40 AM

As a country with a huge immigrant population America has been quite safe actually, with very few terrorist attacks.

Some want us to compromise our freedom in order to satisfy their paranoia, never realizing that they are playing into the hands of the terrorists.

The main weapon of terrorism is fear. Building walls will not defeat such an enemy.

Ask the Chinese.

93 Aspirin September 21, 2017 at 8:42 AM

Fred, when the right actually contributes something of value I do listen.

Lately I’m not hearing very much of value.

94 Fred P. September 21, 2017 at 10:33 AM

Aspirin – value is entirely a subjective value. If you have a closed mind or only look to liberal websites to get their spin, you’re not getting the FACTS.

Anytime spin is introduced, you lose the raw information. And when you introduce your own belief system, you’re taking away from the raw data/information – which is why you can’t assign a term like “value” to it.

Anytime any bias is introduced, from the source to the recipient, the “value” becomes important only to the recipient.

Think about it.

Fred P. … You are absolutely spot on.

djt sold it, you bought it. Sorry no returns.

98 AlwaysBePositive September 21, 2017 at 3:44 PM

djt is making noise about shoving the Iran Nuclear deal to Congress and have them deal with it. He is not capable of dealing with one nuclear proliferation issue and now he wants to add a second one?

Did you hear what he told a group of African leaders at a United Nations lunch yesterday? He started by saying that he was very impressed with Africa’s economic potential. At this point I have to paraphrase because I was so stunned. He said something like…’I have so many friends going to your country’s to get rich’.

What an idiot.

@#116 g
Yes it is terrible. Almost as terrible as Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) using Auschwitz as a backdrop for a campaign ad last summer. Almost as terrible as an American President talking about the Holocaust and not mentioning Jewish people on Holocaust Rememberance Day. Or Sen. Campfield (R-TN) who compared signups for Obamacare to sign ups for mandatory train rides for Jews in the 1940’s.

Leave your hypocritical outrage at the door.

And now Hillary wants to get rid of the Electoral College.

The only reason why is she LOST! And the Electoral College is in place to prevent a couple of the most populous states (which happen to be democrat strongholds) from deciding the election and essentially eliminating the other 48 states from participating.

What an idiot!

108 WC resident September 22, 2017 at 2:18 PM

@Fred P. The Electoral College is not the only reason why Hillary Lost lost.

109 AlwaysBePositive September 22, 2017 at 2:41 PM

The electoral college is a relic of the past. Created when it would take weeks to get from Georgia to Philadelphia, we now have the ability to count votes in real time (but I believe reporting election results should be delayed until the day after the election).

Tell me fp, why are 3 million votes from Iowa more important than three million votes from California? Why are 3 million rural votes more important than 3 million urban votes? Why does it take 195,167 Wyoming votes to generate 1 electoral college vote and it takes 713,636 Californians to generate the same electoral vote.

One person, one vote. It’s not that difficult, but R’s know they have to keep the electoral college to have any chance of winning a national election. Sec. Clinton was the 6th candidate to win the popular vote and lose the election.

110 Rollo Tomasi September 22, 2017 at 5:17 PM

If one eliminates ALL the votes received by BOTH candidates in Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Los Angeles and San Diego counties (less than 10% of California counties), Clinton still wins California’s electoral votes, but Trump wins the national popular vote as well as the electoral college, I suppose it’s OK for some of you that the course of the nation be determined by a few population centers with very little in common demographically or economically with most of the nation. Smacks of arrogance and elitism.

Let’s talk about that popular vote – you know, the one that determined (by a larger margin than Clinton’s popular vote victory) that California will not only retain the death penalty, but will strive to expedite the execution thereof. Let’s not forget about that popular vote in 2008, in which California voted that same-sex marriage would NOT be legally recognized. Yeah, let’s continue to hang our hats on the popular vote.

111 Aspirin September 22, 2017 at 5:24 PM

We now have proof of Russian attempts to hack into 21 states. This alone should cause some concern about Trump’s legitimacy as an elected president.

More to come ……

112 Original G September 22, 2017 at 6:19 PM
