About 544 people are without power along Marsh Creek Rd., from just west of Morgan Territory to Camino Diablo.

The power should be back on by 11 a.m., according to PG&E.

PG&E is currently investigating the cause.

An earlier outage hit several neighborhoods in Clayton. The power has since been restored to all but three of those homes, PG&E said.

There was a lightening strike and the power went out. It sounded more like an explosion, but there was the characteristic burst of bright light a few minutes before, and then the electricity went off near Mitchell Canyon about 5:30 – 6:00 am. Came back on in about thirty minutes.

Strike was right outside my window. I live on Morgan Territory. Sounded like a civil war cannon.
