Traffic Signals at Clayton Rd., Treat Blvd. Intersection Not Working

The traffic signals in the intersection of Clayton Rd. and Treat Blvd. in Concord are not working.

Temporary stop signs have been placed at the intersection.

Use caution if you’re in the area.

Oh wait a minute are not those the new ones for the intersection construction completed last month that lasted three long painful years? Did city already accept and sign off on the traffic signal install?

Would be real interested to find out what their troubleshooting finds out. Time it takes to troubleshoot a new install to a great degree is governed by detail taken in planning and detail of marked up as-built drawings. Wonder if they use grid reference wire numbering for wire labels?

Finding problems on a new install is both challenging and FUN.
Is a pleasure to watch someone who is a logical thinker troubleshooting. Am tempted to stop by and look over their shoulders but won’t.

So much for “Mission Accomplished”. Perhaps the City Engineer should have mentioned the fact that this project wasn’t complete.

BTW- The Troll and his companion had to drive through that mess this afternoon. It got really exciting* when they started testing the lights and there would be a momentary red/yellow/green flash…as if drivers weren’t already confused and frustrated enough?

Perhaps this is just a different take on the California Lottery, having to risk life and limb every time you leave home.

That will make for a fun commute home today!

They have had a message signs up since at least Friday telling people of the signal change on 9-12 from 7am to 5pm. I know they had them on eastbound Clayton Rd. and on southbound Denkinger, I assume they were on Treat and westbound Clayton also. As of 4:30pm the lights were working.
It was fun watching the people at the intersection. One person sat for a couple minutes while the cars behind honked. Finally got out, pointed to the lights and yelled “I’m waiting for it to change”. I was out for a walk, spent most of my time watching the intersection.

Again?? They were out about 2 weeks ago and the backup was awful! It was right around commute time too. Treat Blvd was backed up for miles!!! Also Clayton Rd.

Intersections and driveways are dangerous and people still believe they can plow thru them like a farmer and his acreage.

With all the noise that place can get confusing.

This area has been under one form of construction or another for years.

When will it be completed ?
