Dear red-state friends: Embracing Russia is not an act of patriotism

Dear Hometown:

I need you to explain something to me.

I think I still have a pretty good idea of how you think, even if I haven’t been back for a few years now.I understand, for example, why most of you voted for Donald Trump. You’re mad about a lot of things. You don’t like where the country is headed, you hate Obamacare’s mandates and dictates, you didn’t want Hillary Clinton to take away your guns. You don’t like Hollywood and the East Coast telling you what to do. I get all that.

But what I really don’t get is this whole thing about Russia.

It should be clear by now that we are under attack. Russia intervened directly in our political system during the last election. And now we have growing evidence that the Trump campaign team was seeking to work with the Russians to exploit this opening.

So follow Trump’s lead if you will, and join the Putin fan club. But I, for one, will never understand how you can do it.

Republicans have lost the courage to stand up to Russia

In the past, the GOP demanded that presidents recognize the threat posed by the Russian government, understand the policies needed to counter it and have the backbone to stand up to any challenge. Trump, by their own criteria, has failed each of these tests.

Obama was vilified as a Russian patsy for actions that don’t remotely approach what we know Trump and his circle have done. Today, all but a few congressional Republicans avert their eyes and swallow their tongues. Most of them, however, must be appalled to see the nation’s security in the hands of someone so willing to overlook Putin’s malicious behavior.

It may not be clear to them that Trump should be impeached. But by now, they have to know he can’t be trusted.

Trump’s Son Met With Russian Lawyer After Being Promised Damaging Information on Clinton
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/09/us/politics/trump-russia-kushner-manafort.html
__________

This story broke on Saturday, and every single day the Trump team has put out some lie about it, and the next day, a new piece of the story broke that showed them to be lying. Every day for six days. First, it was “yeah, we met but it was just about adoption”. Then it was “yeah, it was about Hillary, but we didn’t know before hand”. Then it was “yeah, we knew, but it wasn’t a big deal, and nobody else was even in the room”. They have proven to be lying, and lying and lying about everything related to this case. There is no reason to believe a single word they say, and anyone who does is kidding themselves.

Collusion with the Russians is a serious matter!
It must be investigated!
It’s very serious that Hillary Clinton, while she was Secretary of State, arranged a deal to sell US uranium to the Russians- through middlemen in Canada -who all then donated 100 million to the Clinton Foundation. Why this might even be treasonous and merritt execution.

OUTSTANDING ! ! ! ! ! ! !
“Migrants who are caught crossing the border illegally for the first time are now facing criminal charges in federal court in Arizona as the Trump administration steps up efforts to deter illegal immigration.

Until recently, first-time offenders were deported instead of being criminally prosecuted.

That changed as of June in the Tucson Sector, which includes most of Arizona’s border with Mexico, the agency said in a news release on Thursday. The new program has led to 565 prosecutions.”

White House releases sensitive personal information of voters worried about their sensitive personal information

The White House on Thursday made public a trove of emails it received from voters offering comment on its Election Integrity Commission. The commission drew widespread criticism when it emerged into public view by asking for personal information, including addresses, partial social security numbers and party affiliation, on every voter in the country.

It further outraged voters by planning to post that information publicly. Voters directed that outrage toward the Trump White House and the voter commission, often using profanity-laced language in the 112 pages of emails released this week.

Unfortunately for these voters and others who wrote in, the Trump administration did not redact any of their personal information from the emails before releasing them to the public. In some cases, the emails contain not only names, but email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers and places of employment of people worried about such information being made available to the public.

I’m very proud of President Trump and first lady Melania. They are very popular during their International tours and are getting very good reports. They are well-liked. Too bad our media in America is falsely covering things to try to make them look bad. What a shame. But I think the tide is turning as I’m hearing more and more people every day who did not vote for Trump but are beginning to like him. So despite with the liberal media is trying to do them the truth is coming through and at the same time the liberal media is losing all credibility. Democrats of course are still mad they lost the election and instead of being positive and moving forward are doing nothing but trying to dig up dirt. But they’re going to fail.

URANIUM DEAL FACTS –
Clinton played a pivotal role in the Uranium One deal which ended up giving Russian interests control of 20 percent of our uranium supply in exchange for donations of $145 million to the Criminal Clinton Foundation. That, boys and girls, is a federal crime.
Canadian mining industry leaders were major donors to the ‘charitable endeavors’ of Slick Willie Clinton and his family. Members of that group built, financed and eventually sold off to the Russians a company that would become known as Uranium One.
Beyond mines in Kazakhstan that are among the most lucrative in the world, the sale gave the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States. Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. Among the agencies that eventually signed off was the State Department, then headed by Mrs Slick Willie Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Criminal Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s crooked chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Criminal Clintons, despite an agreement Hilary Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well.

Soon, Uranium One began to snap up companies with assets in the United States. In April 2007, it announced the purchase of a uranium mill in Utah and more than 38,000 acres of uranium exploration properties in four Western states, followed quickly by the acquisition of the Energy Metals Corporation and its uranium holdings in Wyoming, Texas and Utah.

Anyone but a complete idiot can see the truth. Who will be the first idiot to refute the truth!

ACTUAL URANIUM DEAL FACTS –The fact is, Clinton was one of nine voting members on the foreign investments committee, which also includes the secretaries of the Treasury, Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce and Energy, the attorney general, and representatives from two White House offices — the United States Trade Representative and the Office of Science and Technology Policy. (Separately, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission needed to approve (and did approve) the transfer of two uranium recovery licenses as part of the sale.) Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” made that point when he questioned Schweizer about his lack of evidence connecting the donations to the uranium deal. (Fox News was among the media outlets that received an advance copy of his book.) Schweizer made the counterargument — again without any evidence — that the investors bought her silence by making contributions to the Clinton Foundation.

Just finished reading James Patterson’s “Filthy Rich,” a book on pedophile and close Clinton buddy Jeffrey Epstein, great read if you can stomach it. To be fair, Epstein was also a friend of Trumps in the past…when news got to Trump that Epstein had an eye for pre-pubescent girls, HE BANNED THAT M*FER from Mar-a-lago. Meanwhile, Bill Clinton (and Prince Andrew among others) were busy on Epstein’s private jet dubbed the Lolita Express headed to his private island for more fun. Available at your local library, do yourselves a favor and read this as it will give you a real glimpse into the world of high power child sex trafficking.

Last thing to add, the mainstream media doesn’t report much on Trumps efforts to stop human and child trafficking. If Barry Soetoro, aka Barak O ever comes around, don’t let him hold your baby.

64 Aspirin July 16, 2017 at 9:41 AM

Retired LEO : I know this much about law: Accusation and proof are two different things.

The Trump campaign trotted out Broaddrick in response to sexual accusations against Trump. We can only surmise how much was paid to accomplish this.

“Supporters of Clinton have questioned Broaddrick’s account by noting that Broaddrick continued to support Clinton, and appear at public events on his behalf, weeks after the alleged rape, along with the fact that Broaddrick stated that she couldn’t remember the exact date the alleged incident occurred. In addition, Broaddrick had once signed a deposition, under oath, stating that no sexual contact had occurred with Bill Clinton; although she subsequently stated that she had made this claim because “I didn’t want to be forced to testify about the most horrific event of my life. Slate magazine published an inconclusive piece on whether Broaddrick was telling the truth. She was then subpoenaed but denied under oath that Clinton had raped her, in order, she later said[by whom?], to protect her privacy, her husband and her horse-farm business.”

65 Dr. Jellyfinger July 16, 2017 at 9:42 AM

Not to mention the two women who accused Bill Clinton of rape when he was still a nobody in college…

Dr. Jellyfinger: Accusation and fact are often very different. I learned this in grammar school.

67 Aspirin July 16, 2017 at 10:05 AM

In my opinion, Bill Clinton had major character flaws and his charisma affecting women should not be a surprise.

While it is possible that he could have committed the offenses some accuse him of nothing has been proven that he committed the crime of rape.

“This week the Trump administration will honor the amazing American workers and companies who have products that are made in America,” Helen Ferre, the White House’s director of media affairs, told reporters at a briefing here Sunday. She said America sets “the world standard for quality and craftsmanship.” For Trump, highlighting U.S.-made products is inconsistent with his practices as a businessman. For years, the Trump Organization has outsourced much of its product manufacturing, relying on a global network of factories in a dozen countries — including Bangladesh, China and Mexico — to make its clothing, home decor pieces and other items. Similarly, the clothing line of Ivanka Trump, the president’s older daughter and a senior White House adviser, relies exclusively on foreign factories employing low-wage workers in countries such as Bangladesh, Indonesia and China, according to a recent Washington Post investigation. Asked at Sunday’s briefing whether “Made in America” week would include a commitment from the Trump Organization or Ivanka Trump’s company to make more of their products in the United States, Ferre told reporters, “We’ll get back to you on that.” http://wapo.st/2txKmyL

Junk Insurance’ vs. ‘Junk News’ at the NY Times

Taking a short break from Russian collusion stories, the ultra left New York Times is pivoting from Trump bashing to hitting Senate Republicans over their efforts to repeal and replace the failed ObamaCare.
In a recent article, the NY Times criticizes Ted Cruz’s sensible proposal allowing insurers to sell bare-bones policies that don’t meet the ObamaCare arbitrary “policy standards”, or essential benefits. According to the fringe leftist Times, these policies are “junk insurance”.
Not to be confused with “junk news”, a staple of the NY Times, Washington ComPost and other major newspapers, these so-called junk insurance policies are simply scaled-down coverage, allowing individuals the choice to pay lower premiums for less generous insurance coverage. Oh the horrors, what a novel concept.
Given exponentially rising insurance premiums, it makes sense to offer lower-cost alternatives to consumers.
In Colorado, individual insurance premiums are expected to rise 27 percent next year. This is not a once in a decade premium increase. Instead premiums have been rising by double digit percentages each and every year since the failed ObamaCare was signed into law by those mental midgets who didn’t even read it. So much for our premiums going down, as we were famously promised by Barack O’Liar and many others incompetent democrats.

Exactly who do you think junk insurance benefits? Allowing consumers to choose what they want covered in their health plans is exactly like allowing car insurance buyers to choose the coverage they want, but not like choosing not to include comprehensive coverage on an old car. It is like choosing to not be insured if you are hit by a ford or toyota. Let’s see…I’m healthy today, so I’m not going to buy diabetes coverage. Gotta go to McDonald’s for my super size soda now.

Prior to the ACA, 50% of personal bankruptcies were related to personal medical bills. Of those bankruptcies, 80% had medical insurance (but they were junk policies or had lifetime caps that were too small for their bills). Health insurance companies are not your friends.

96 Dennis July 17, 2017 at 6:21 PM

@#93 your not-covered-toyota example is stupid. Note there are two different concepts here: risk compensation (insurance against) and medical treatment plans.
My neighbor has a pool and I do not. His homeowners insurance costs more than mine because I have no risk of liability associated with a pool.
I should not be forced to buy the same policy as my neighbor, so his premium can be lower.
Additionally, I haven’t spent a lifetime making bad choices. Consequently, I don’t have AIDS or Hep-C. I don’t need Methadone because I never chose to do Heroin, etc.
Why should I have to buy an insurance policy that provides treatment to people who Do?
I can’t get fire insurance after my house starts burning … it is a “preexisting condition” … so why should people with medical conditions caused by their bad choices get coverage and treatment by the same plan (and cost) as me?
Bottom line: healthy people are being forced to buy expensive plans they won’t use specifically so their premiums can be “Redistributed”
It’s just another way say socialism.

97 Randy July 17, 2017 at 7:29 PM

@96

Nor should I have to pay more because of the neighborhood you live in or the because of the area you work in or the part of town you decide to eat lunch in or because your neighbor has been to jail.

Just because you make a poor high risk choices it shouldn’t effect me and my premiums..

98 Dr. Jellyfinger July 17, 2017 at 9:32 PM

The founding fathers of this country would approve of the way the Republicans are handling the health care bill.
They wanted it to be difficult to pass legislation, in order to make it well thought out and efficient they made the process difficult so that diverse, intelligent people would argue the pros & cons & work out the problems before passing the bill… quite unlike the way the ACA was passed by a partisan Congress of Democrats marching in lockstep… daring not to voice a word of contrary thought…. as usual.

114 Justifiable anger July 18, 2017 at 10:34 AM

BOMBSHELL: Judicial Watch today released 448 pages of documents from the U.S. Department of State revealing new incidents of Huma Abedin, deputy chief of staff to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, providing special State Department treatment to major donors to the Clinton Foundation and political campaigns.

The heavily redacted documents from Abedin’s non-government account include an email from Hillary Clinton’s brother, Tony Rodham, to Abedin revealing that he acted as a go between for a Clinton Foundation donor, Richard Park. And they reveal Clinton Foundation executive Doug Band instructing Abedin to “show love” to Clinton donor Andrew Liveris.

The documents included six Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to at least 439 emails that were not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department,

and further contradicting a statement by Clinton that, “as far as she knew,” all of her government emails had been turned over to the State Department.

The left’s never-ending temper tantrum –

Gale Encyclopedia of Children’s Health: Tantrum – A tantrum is an episode of extreme anger and frustration characterized by crying, screaming, and violent body motions, including throwing things, falling to the floor, and banging one’s head, hands, and feet against the floor as we read right here on this blog every day.
The left has always demanded we do its bidding for the “sake of the children” because “children are the future.” Everybody has to be a role model; the children are watching. Everybody but our very own liberal whiners, that is.
All that went out the window with the election of Donald Trump. The left’s childish display of rage has been loud, violent, and incessant. First, leftists went after the Electoral College, demanding that we scrap it – a political equivalent of swiping the table clean before storming off in a huff. Gee that sounds familiar. Then they went after members of the Electoral College, threatening to hold their breath and turn blue unless the legal election results were overturned in their favor. Did you faint, Aspirin? The left indulged its singularly enormous ego by behaving like a three-year-old clad in a rage-colored onesie. I’ll bet Silva looked real cute.
Ever since it has been Russia, Russia, Russia, resist, resist, resist, riot, riot, riot, rumor, rumor, rumor. This amounts to only an alliterative outburst of self-centered conceit. The left employs endless unnamed sources behind every unsubstantiated accusation every time.
Are these the behaviors one should model for the children? Stomp the game board and kick the pieces around if you lose? Don masks and smash windows if you don’t get your way?
An adult would sensibly understand that sometimes losing is a valuable experience – especially if it is used to examine oneself. Self-assessment at critical moments is a touchstone of fully developed human comportment.
I have yet to see even one leftist commentator call out his political cohorts for this incredibly prolonged display of puerile, uncouth, and unequivocally self-indulgent behavior.
An infection of virulent hubris staining every word and action is the only platform the left stands on today. Americans must accept vitriol and condescension as substitute for Democratic Party proposals and policies.
Lefties – we already know you deafeningly blame racism, white nationalism, and even Nazism for your defeat. You draw from your comprehensive list of convenient, comfortable, and clichéd isms and ists to explain away this loss.
The real question is, can you think of anything you did wrong that cost the election?
It would be a pleasant surprise if you could quietly and honestly contemplate that question.
I won’t hold my breath!

Donald Trump is a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He has daughters, so you know he has been schooled on women’s issues. He has made his wives very wealthy women. Ivana worked alongside him in his many business interests. In fact, he turned many important issues over to her and she handled them deftly. Melania has business interests she developed under Donald Trump’s guidance, as does his daughter Ivanka. It is beyond absurd to say that he does not act in the interest of women. And, because he has grandchildren of his own he most certainly is interested in seeing to it that they have the best possible conditions in which to grow up healthy and strong on a planet that is well cared for by its inhabitants. Those who paint him as an evil man, a “… narcissist, supremely ignorant about governing, crass, rude, petty, vindictive and with a mean streak …” are trying to turn people against him with their lies, exaggerations, and hateful rhetoric simply because they are unable to accept that the country is no longer buying the liberal agenda. @aspirin #128 – you said “The Second Amendment did not confer a right to “keep and bear arms” outside of a “well-regulated militia”.

That is correct; however, you neglected the rest of the story. The Bill of Rights acknowledges PRE-EXISTING rights; they do not grant or confer rights. Also, the term “well-regulated” refers to training, not to laws restricting firearms. In addition, the term “militia” is defined in the US Code; both organized and unorganized militia…. essentially all males age 18+.

Look at what happens when able-bodied citizens are required to work. A significant number of people were obviously abusing the system.

Alabama began 2017 by requiring able-bodied adults without children in 13 counties to either find a job or participate in work training as a condition for continuing to receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
According to AL.com, the number of those recipients declined from 5,538 to 831 between Jan. 1 and the beginning of May – an 85 percent drop.
Similar changes were implemented in select counties in Georgia and by the end of the first three months, the number of adults receiving benefits in three participating counties dropped 58 percent, according to the Georgia Public Policy Foundation.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution recently reported that in 21 additional counties that restored the work requirement, there was a 62 percent drop in SNAP participants.
WE DESPERATELY NEED TO REQUIRE THIS IN CALIFORNIA!
Why can’t our worthless California politicians do any damn thing to cut taxes? Tax more and spend more is all they know.

I also consider myself an excellent judge of character, and I have not often been proven wrong. Regarding his being a hands off parent, he says he had little to do with raising his children besides sending the money. There is clear corroborating evidence from the mothers of his children who raised them to majority. His related attitudes/statements about women are also very well documented. Evidence of the really creepy stuff is easy to find too. I have heard more than a few lifelong Republicans say that that was the part that was just too much for them to swallow.

Sweet, the founders were liberals! If they wanted their words to be final…why did they include an amendment process? If their thoughts while writing the Constitution were meant to remain as the final word perhaps you’d like to describe the difference in the Constitution and the present day legal status of say…women, slavery, and education. Maybe it would be easier for you to find some things that mean the same today as it did in 1790.

Some of President Trump’s lawyers are exploring ways to limit or undercut special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s Russia investigation, building a case against what they allege are his conflicts of interest and discussing the president’s authority to grant pardons, according to people familiar with the effort. Trump has asked his advisers about his power to pardon aides, family members and even himself in connection with the probe, according to one of those people. A second person said Trump’s lawyers have been discussing the president’s pardoning powers among themselves. Trump’s legal team declined to comment on the issue. But one adviser said the president has simply expressed a curiosity in understanding the reach of his pardoning authority, as well as the limits of Mueller’s investigation.

djt’s comment above is especially repellent based on how his family arrived in America. For all the people who crow about how their ancestors immigrated the ‘right’ way. Until recently almost all immigrants arrived on our shores without papers. They arrived on our shores as huddled masses yearning to be free, without papers, and our country took them in and added to the complex quilt that is America. That is one thing that made America great. Maybe that is what is meant by making America great again. Reforming our immigration laws to make America the beacon of freedom it used to be.

Yes, and “when we knew better, we did better.” A systematic method for legal immigration and becoming a citizen of our country is beneficial to both the immigrant and the country.

If you’re traveling, by all means come to visit. If you want to stay, do it legally. It is only fair to those of us who respect and obey the law. And those, I might add, who go through the rigorous step required to become a citizen.

When Donald Trump was elected President, the whole country heaved a sigh of relief. Didn’t you feel it? It was as if the populous was suddenly imbued with the hope that Obama had sucked out of them the last eight years. There was reason to look forward to a bright future, once again. A future without acrimony, pain, and mistrust. President Trump is working every day to restore the things that make the country a great nation. He has introduced legislation, issued executive orders, made important appointments, met with foreign dignitaries and allies, made critical decisions with regard to the Middle East, North Korea, and other areas of the world requiring his attention, and the list goes on. He is the best man for the job at this time in our nation’s history, and he has already accomplished many of the goals he set for himself while campaigning for the office. You might want to examine your attitude. You seem to be looking for things that are wrong rather than things that are right.
