Concord police arrested a man for firing a gun at another man after an argument Wednesday night.

The suspect, 29-year-old Richard Wayne Anderson of Concord, allegedly fired two shots at the victim after an argument in the 2000 block of Pacheco Street at about 10 p.m., according to police.

The man wasn’t hit by either shot and Anderson was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into jail, police said.

Officers recovered the gun allegedly used in the assault in some bushes near where the argument took place, according to police.

Stupid Gun Control Laws – left the 2nd man without a gun to fire back with – we missed a great opportunity to have a good ol’ fashioned shootout in a populated area and since we all know that bullets only hurt or kill bad guys no kids would have been endangered by these guys shooting at each other.

Richard Wayne Anderson sounds familiar. Has he been featured on Claycord in the past?

@Rob,
I know you’re just trolling, but I’m going to reply anyway.

In order to get a concealed carry permit in California, applicants must complete a training course that teaches when to use lethal force, to be aware of what is behind the target, and how the shooter is responsible for every bullet that leaves the muzzle, as well as some range qualification to ensure that they have basic marksmanship skills. The thugs don’t go through any of that. Yet you worry more about the guy who paid the money, had the background check, and went through the training. Where’s the logic in that?

Concord, where families come first.

Makes no sense to arrest the guy, the gun fired the bullets.

The only form of gun control that will control guns is an all out ban of guns. Sure it will take decades before all the guns are gone, but once they are, the treat will be eliminated.

BEFORE ALL COMMENTS OUR MADE CHECK ALL FACTS. THIS SO CALLED SHOOTER WAS WALKING HIS DOG WHEN THIS SO CALLED VICTIM CAME UP AND STARTED A ARGUMENT. RICHARD WENT BACK TO HIS APPARTMENT AND THE VICTIM FOLLOWED AND STARTED THRENTING HIM THERE SO RICHARD CAME OUT WITH A GUN AND SHOT 2 TIMES IN THE AIR. YES THAT WAS A DUMB THING TO DO BUT WHAT WOULD YOU DO. CALL POLICE THE RESULTS WOULD STILL BE THE SAME. THE VICITM TOLD POLICE THAT HE WAS AFRIAD FOR HIS LIFE BUT HE COMES BACK TO APARTMENT TO CONVINCE PEOPLE TO BELIEVE HIS SIDE. AND NOW THEIR IS A RACE ISSUE AS THE SO CALLED VICTIM IS BLACK AND RICHARD IS WHITE. RICHARD IS A GOOD HARDWORKING MAN THAT LIFE IS GOING TO BE RUIN BECAUSE OF FEAR, AND BEING MADE GUILTY FROM THE PEOPLE BECAUSES THE LAW AND MEDIA DO NOT GIVE ALL THE FACTS. REMEMBER FOLKS THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE THINK ABOUT THAT NEXT TIME YOU CONVICT SOMEONE WITHOUT ALL FACTS

Get both sides of the story before you judge. If someone walks up to you saying I am going to f u up, and is digging in a bag as he approachs you. You would be afraid too. Get all the facts and quit being one sided. He is not Hater…. He had all frinds of all nationality. And he doesnt use the N word either…. He made a wrong choice, Get over yourself. Late

Don’t shoot unless you intend to kill.
Firing a weapon in the air in a city is just as dangerous, so you can kiss that excuse goodbye. What goes up must come down and you can bet your bottom dollar that that bullet could still take a life.
Be responsible with your weapons. Call the police if there’s an issue and distance yourself from said issue until police arrive. End of story.

Ban guns… LOL! Like drugs that are banned? That logic never works. The ” bad ” guys will always be able to get gun’s, or a knife, or a car, or a bat, I could continue. Taking guns away from the good guys, is not the solution.

Downtown is full of crazy people. I see them wandering around in circles, screaming at themselves. Some are aggressive and scary. The police consider complaints about crazy people to be low priority. The response time is pathetic, if they come at all. In the 20 to 60 minutes it takes an officer to show up, the complainant could be seriously injured or dead. If the police show up before anyone is actually hurt, the crazy person is just shooed on down the road. Chief Swanger has left citizens to fend for themselves. It is like the wild west out there and I blame law enforcement for not doing their job. There would be a lot fewer gun nuts if we could actually count on Concord PD to protect us.

Being a gun nut and fear for one safety

20 Elizabeth A Boutelle April 23, 2017 at 12:05 PM

ARE TOO DIFFERENT THINGS
