The streets of Downtown Martinez are flooded.

Water is rushing down the street on Alhambra Ave. at Bertola St.

Several streets in the area are also blocked off.

Thanks to Mike B. for the photos. Mike reports “Bertola St. is a river from 6″-2′ deep all the way out through downtown to the marina.”

It’s cool now just so everyone knows. Water has receded at least a foot or so in the creek and the streets are clear of water, aside from storm drains. These pictures were taken probably around 2100 or 9 PM at the peak of the flooding.

15 years ago (or so) MTZ use to flood every year. I am pleased it is no longer a regular occurrence.

Born and raised in the area and I haven’t seen it this bad in several years.

Places downtown open but could only take cash because their broadband was down which they were blaming PG&E for which is not an Internet provider and they had electricity.

Plenty of failed sump pumps in basements 🙁
Floor heaters, water heaters and even forced air furnaces damaged in flooded basements.
PS – Who cleans the mud off of the sidewalks in residential area? I would think that the residents would just spray it onto the street, but some are saying the city will clean up the sidewalks?
