This post is “Talk About Politics”.

Please use this post to talk about politics, and keep politics out of the “whatever” thread.

Thank you, and be kind to each other.

Welp deplorables, your hero got shown to be the useless fraud he is.

He can barely string two coherent thoughts together.

Hopefully for the next debate, he blows his nose first.

Oh my.

102 be-aware September 26, 2016 at 8:52 PM

On the debate….
Trump’s grimacing facial expressions looked like he had loaded
his diaper. He was unloading from both ends.
very presidential???

103 I can not stand September 26, 2016 at 8:58 PM

But she won the debate hands down. Trump gave the worst performance I have ever seen. Awful and at times, incoherent.

104 TK September 26, 2016 at 9:23 PM

HilLIARy will create jobs by placing more regulations on the private sector, raising taxes, and then require more government workers to ensure the regulations are monitored…. Does that really contribute to the economic engine? No… it’s just a futile exercise of more paperwork.

105 stop look and listen September 26, 2016 at 10:13 PM

‘Help! I”m talking and I can’t shut up’. Guess who
I have the better temperament to be president, believe me, everybody says so. I have tremendous self control. People have been telling me and I”m proud of it.
This is a joke right? bad dream? huge bad dream.

The mega rich OWN hillary.

“Former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has collected $21.1 million for her campaign and its supporting political action committees from 17 U.S. donors on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Republican Donald Trump has received $1.02 million from 12 members of the group.”

112 Stroke Three ... you're out September 27, 2016 at 6:56 AM

“A critical meeting takes place in the White House at 2300 hours (11PM). Present are President Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, key White House staffers including White House chief of staff and National Security Council Advisor. The new Director of the CIA also is there as is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The CIA Director, who is a Cabinet member, is briefing on the crisis before the Chairman presents some military options.

Clinton is listening and then, all of a sudden, her head slams into the conference table.

Everything stops. How to proceed?

Her staff summons White House doctors. To save time, her limp body is hoisted onto the large conference table. She is breathing but there is no communication. Did she have a stroke? There is no chance to do a real diagnosis in the situation room. It is urgent to get her to a hospital for treatment – the best choice is nearby George Washington University Hospital where Ronald Reagan was treated for a gunshot wound after an assassination attempt. Alternatively she can be taken to Bethesda Naval Hospital and transported either by ambulance or by helicopter (though there are no helicopters currently on the White House lawn). …

Meanwhile, the Vice President is in Asia on a goodwill tour. His plane will soon be touching down in Seoul, South Korea. He is more than 20 hours from home, if he is summoned. But Air Force Two, if it changes route, will be followed immediately by Russian radars and satellites. The Kremlin will know something has happened in Washington.

Quarrels break out among the staff and with the cabinet members about what to do. Should they call in medical help and bring equipment to the White House, instead of going to a hospital? That would depend, to some degree, on whether anybody thought this was the recurring brain clot that has disabled her before, and they might hope the crisis will pass on its own. But if she had a major stroke she must be hospitalized to survive.

Then there is the question again of the Russians – the President moving into a hospital cannot be hidden. Who would then be in charge? Might the Russians not want to exploit the obvious confusion now gripping the Executive Branch?

So the staff and the cabinet members know they have to make a number of choices, none of them good and some of them that threaten Clinton’s survival.

What decisions they make will require some level of agreement, and as Clinton lies on the table, pale and with shallow breathing, they can’t reach a conclusion. The clock is ticking. The argument is growing. Can the cabinet members take control, throw the White House staffers out of the room, and determine what to do with Clinton?”

113 Wowza September 27, 2016 at 7:26 AM

Divisive anti Police progressive liberal democrat politicians and their feckless sycophants are responsible.

“Approximately 40 people attacked a California Highway Patrol (CHP) vehicle as the officer inside of it attempted to pull over a suspected reckless driver in Fresno, California on Sunday afternoon. As they attacked the CHP car, the group hurled obscene and racist verbal attacks as well.

In video of the incident, one person can be heard shouting, “F*ck the police n**ga. We run the streets motha f*cker. You feel me? Fresno n**ga.” The video posted to Fresno People’s Media’s Facebook page appears to be the same video played in a local news report, where the offensive words were bleeped out.

In the background are heard what sounds like shouts from the crowd of “f*ck the police,” a common leftist rally cry. The phrase has been sung by rapper Ice Cube and used frequently in Black Lives Matter protests around the country.”

The weekend America’s newspapers called Donald Trump a liar

121 FlyingSpaghettiMonster September 27, 2016 at 9:14 AM

I think Hillary definitely won the debate. And I’m scoring that as if its a high school debate class. Trump brought up some withering issues that make Clinton appear ridiculous, and could have brought up many more but didn’t. Hillary was able to effectively deflect them and keep on the offensive. The important issues of 11 million illegal aliens and devastating trade deals got diminished and lesser in importance than who came up with the birther issue. But would you want a 16 year old kid who got an A+ in his/her high school debate class to be president? I don’t.

It also was a problem that the moderator was obviously biased. I just don’t have those ethics. If I were moderator no matter who I was for, I would try to present both sides equally. It is almost impossible to underestimate the current state of ethics in the media.

126 FlyingSpaghettiMonster September 27, 2016 at 10:34 AM

Funny how the above democrats think. Or don’t think. Look at the list of Trump “lies” that Ghost keeps cycling through. Choose one. How about the lie that Hillary destroyed 13 smart phones with a hammer. The lie, according to them, is that only two were destroyed with a hammer. They don’t ask why Hillary was destroying evidence. They don’t wonder about her statements made to the FBI and congress that were not true, and repeated several times, and each of those times not true. All that they don’t focus on. What they focus on is how the smart phones were destroyed. The FBI shows they can only prove two were destroyed using a hammer, and since they are not sure how the others were destroyed, somehow that turns into a Trump lie. Didn’t Joseph Goebbels invent these tactics? Its a rhetorical question.

127 Anon September 27, 2016 at 10:46 AM

128 Trump Cry Bany WaWaWa September 27, 2016 at 10:51 AM

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (The Borowitz Report)—Plunging the future of the 2016 Presidential debates into doubt, Donald J. Trump said on Tuesday morning that he would not participate in the remaining two debates if Hillary Clinton is there.

Trump blasted the format of Monday night’s debate by claiming that the presence of Clinton was “specifically designed” to distract him from delivering his message to the American “Every time I said something, she would say something back,” he said. “It was rigged.”

He also lambasted the “underhanded tactics” his opponent used during the debate. “She kept on bringing up things I said or did,” he added. “She is a very nasty person.”

Turning to CNN, Trump criticized the network’s use of a split screen showing both him and Clinton throughout the telecast. “It should have been just me,” he said. “That way people could have seen how really good my temperament is.”

The billionaire said that debate organizers had not yet responded to his ultimatum, but he warned that if he does not get assurances in writing that future debates will be “un-rigged, Hillary-wise,” he will not participate.

“Louisiana’s chief legal officer said Tuesday that crime has increased in so-called “sanctuary cities” that pledge not to pursue or prosecute illegal immigrants.”

“Louisiana’s chief legal officer said Tuesday that crime has increased in so-called “sanctuary cities” that pledge not to pursue or prosecute illegal immigrants.

In prepared remarks to the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said sanctuary city policies “allow illegals to commit crimes, then roam free in our communities.”

The remarks came in a hearing on New Orleans, and how the city has become a “sanctuary city” following new policies that went into effect on Feb. 28 that forbid city police from inquiring into an individual’s immigration status. Those policies were written by the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division following a request in 2010 by Mayor Mitch Landrieu for the agency to help reform the city’s police department.

Landry, a former House member, cited recent statistics from Los Angeles, another sanctuary city, to show that crime jumps in these jurisdictions.”

“[L]os Angeles saw all crime rise in 2015: violent crime up 19.9 percent, homicides up 10.2 percent, shooting victims up 12.6 percent, rapes up 8.6 percent, robberies up 12.3 percent, and aggravated assault up 27.5 percent,” Landry said.

Landry added that sanctuary cities “encourage further illegal immigration and promote an underground economy that sabotages the tax base.” ”

What’s it matter a few Americans are killed as long as illegals might eventually vote democrat in a few years. An the mega wealthy democrat campaign contributors get a supply of cheap exploitable labor to maximize their profits.

134 et -al September 27, 2016 at 2:12 PM

Trump came across as the guy who is upset over what a raw deal America, and especially blue-collar and middle America, has gotten.
For people who remember emotional points of conflict more vividly than the play of ideas, Trump planted himself firmly on the side of the 90% of Americans whose incomes have stagnated or declined.
His interruptions, anger, and spontaneity, combined with his repeated emphasis on action, not mere words, positioned him as a non-politician, while Hillary came across as a smooth used car salesman her memorized, focus group-tested points actually working against her in the eyes of the angry and frustrated viewers.

She promises more of the same crap that got the country’s voters to choose Trump as candidate.

135 JWB September 27, 2016 at 2:51 PM

@ et-al #143

Just wondering why do you think Trump planted himself firmly on the side of the 90% of Americans whose incomes have stagnated or declined?

In the discussion about Trump stiffing workers from getting paid for their sevices to Trump he responded by saying:

“And when Secretary Clinton talks about people that didn’t get paid, first of all, they did get paid a lot, but taken advantage of the laws of the nation.
Now, if you want to change the laws, you’ve been there a long time, change the laws. But I take advantage of the laws of the nation because I’m running a company. My obligation right now is to do well for myself, my family, my employees, for my companies. And that’s what I do.”

Don’t you think a majority of Americans think in terms of obeying the law rather than exploiting it. And using a multi-million dollar legal budget to litigate business owners into bankruptcy is something to be admired?

136 FlyingSpaghettiMonster September 27, 2016 at 3:47 PM

@JWB#144: Do you own a house and do you deduct the mortgage interest????? Do you take the Federal Income tax personal exemption?????? OMG!!! How can you do that and declare yourself an American!!! You are taking money away from the Federal government. How unpatriotic. You should be ashamed. It does not matter that it is legal or not. You are not being ethical taking those deductions. 167 et -al September 28, 2016 at 1:53 AM

Holt’s blatant bias against Donald Trump Monday night held to Hunter S. Thompson’s brutal description of journalists and journalism:

Journalism is not a profession or a trade; it is a cheap catch-all for f—offs and misfits – a false doorway to the backside of life.

Holt just proved to tens of millions of Americans that absolute media power corrupts absolutely. If trust and confidence in the media have fallen to the lowest in history, as recently reported, Holt, in his total abandonment of any semblance of objectivity, has lowered both even more.

This bootlicking cog, beholden to his pro-Hillary media masters, didn’t bring up Benghazi, the email scandals, the Clinton Foundation slush fund, Huma Abedin’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, or Clinton’s connections to the biggest female oppressors on the planet. With no pushback at all, Holt allowed Hillary to reference an irrelevant 1996 beauty pageant winner as an example of Trump’s so-called misogyny.

The vile leftist, Hillary Clinton, was enraged that Donald Trump said a former Miss Universe put on a massive amount of weight. This from a woman who takes money from countries where males marry children, treat women as property, and forbid women to engage in normal activities like going to school and driving. What about Hillary laughing that she got a client off after he brutally raped a 12-year-old girl? And where is Hillary’s outrage over Michelle Obama fat-shaming the nation’s children and her own daughters?

Then, of course, no debate with Holt moderating would have been complete without the yawn-inducing race issue. Holt asked Clinton if she believes that police are implicitly biased against black people. Hillary answered that she thinks we’re all racist.

Oh, great. If Hillary wins, you can bet that any challenge to her redistribution-of-wealth policies will be met with charges of racism. In a nation where citizens are already suffering from chronic race fatigue syndrome, being called “racist” for the next four years could be a real game-changer.

Hilary Rotten Clinton is the pig of the world.

Boo Hoo! Waaaaaah! Hillary must have had the questions in advance! The moderator was biased! He was deliberately given a defective mic! She wasn’t nice!

Face it, fellas. Your guy did a terrible job at the debate. He didn’t prepare and it showed. He doesn’t have coherent policy proposals and it showed. He has almost no knowledge of foreign policy or history or economics and it showed. He’s used his money and power to cheat the small businessmen he’s dealt with and has no defense for what he’s done or any regrets for his actions. He refuses to release his tax returns because he’s hiding something. Even his son admits his refusal to release his taxes is based on political considerations, not legal issues. Trump demonstrated how thin skinned he is in front of an audience of 84 million viewers. He took the bait every time and missed opportunity after opportunity to bring up any topics that could have worked in his favor.

You all sound ridiculous trying to make excuses for Trump’s poor performance. Admit he screwed up and hope he takes the time to prepare next time.

Heaven help the USA if Trump becomes the President. Can you imagine Trump going up against Putin or the Iranians or the North Koreans or the Chinese? He was unprepared, demonstrated no knowledge of the topics, thinskinned, and easily manipulated in his first contest with an experienced world leader. Clinton chewed him up and spite him out. He demonstrated he is not Presidential material.

175 Loco Media September 28, 2016 at 8:36 AM

When I hung up the phone I needed to send an email so I listened with half an ear to the broadcast, it sounded oddly familiar.

Once the email was sent I turned my attention back to the TV, odd, the broadcast was black and white.

I mistook the debate for a Three Stooges movie.

I finished watching the Stooges movie which was far more politically informative than the Two Stooges were during the dabate Monday.

Foremost on that day, with the fresh news about al-Awlaki, it seemed the president was pondering the drone program that he had expanded so dramatically and with such lethal results, as well as the death of Bin Laden, which was still resonating worldwide months later. “Turns out I’m really good at killing people,” Obama said quietly, “Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine.” ”

U.S. drone strike on Islamic State leaders in Afghanistan kills 21 ‘including civilians’
“A suspected U.S. drone strike against Islamic State in Afghanistan killed at least 21 people on Wednesday, most of them militants but possibly including some civilians, Afghan officials said.

Civilians casualties in U.S. air strikes have long been a source of friction between the Afghan government and Western allies fighting the Taliban-led insurgency since 2001.

The strike in Nangarhar province, on the eastern border with Pakistan, killed 21 people, at least three of them civilians, and wounded another 11, according to Malem Mashooq, the governor of Achin district where the attack occurred.

One of the wounded told Reuters that the attack struck a house where people were sleeping after a gathering to welcome a local elder who had recently returned from the Hajj pilgrimage.”

“In the wake of Islamic terrorist attacks in the U.S. and abroad, grantees of George Soros’s Open Society Foundations mobilized to counter anti-refugee and anti-Muslim immigration sentiment while using the attacks to push gun control and advocate against the surveillance of Muslims in major U.S. cities such as New York.

Hacked Foundations memos reviewed by Breitbart Jerusalem betray the symbiotic relationship between Soros’ grantees and prominent politicians, including Attorney General Loretta Lynch, in working to push these agendas.”

In past two months, August and September Trump has averaged just over 5,600 people per rally while clinton averaged only 671.

Donald Trump had 15,000 people at his rally in Melbourne, Florida Tuesday night. But what’s really noteworthy is that he had to turn away more than 12,000 people due to space limitations.

Stupidity costs

“The Dallas Morning News is offering massively discounted subscriptions to its readers in an effort to withstand the fallout caused by its editorial board’s endorsement of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The endorsement has generated a lot of reader pushback in the form of angry comments, phone calls and vows to unsubscribe from the paper, which hasn’t endorsed a Democrat in 75 years. Editor Joe Wilson has acknowledged it came with a price of dropped subscriptions, but no one from the paper has revealed how many readers actually unsubscribed.

A Dallas Morning News customer service representative, however, told The Daily Caller News Foundation the paper is extending promotional online discounts on subscriptions in an effort to retain readers upset by the endorsement….”

Really should research prior to posting.
The hitler book thing was ginned up by a hilary campaign operating in blind panic mode. They found a piece written way back in 1990 unfortunately article was written based on third hand hearsay.

Is latest in the concerted effort being waged by desperate clinton campaign, their biased media, democrats in congress and even late night talk show hosts. Pay attention and you will notice use of common phrases or word patterns which are talking points sent out by clinton campaign for use by their surrogates.

Demonstrates lengths they are willing to go to in order to retain power.

Continue on being an unwitting shill parrot.
After all there must be a certain amount of bliss when source of ones knowledge is ignorance.

While following up on some of the interesting points raised in the above discussions (actually et-al’s reference to Hunter Thompson), I ran across a story I had forgotten about. In Wikipedia the story is under, “1996 United States campaign finance controversy.” That was back when the Chinese were trying to give cash donations to the DNC and Bill directly to influence the election process in the US. There were congressional investigations, much of the money had to be returned by the DNC, and one fun fact is a letter presented to Bill threatening war if he does not play along. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I think we all know what the relationship with Hillary and China will be this time around when the trade deals are “negotiated.”

“The U.S. and Iraq have agreed on a plan to send up to 600 additional U.S. troops to Iraq to provide support for pivotal battles as the Iraqi offensive to liberate Mosul draws closer, Pentagon officials said Wednesday.” …

“Defense Secretary Ash Carter decribed the pending deployment week as an opportunity “further to accelerate the defeat of ISIL in Iraq.” ”

obama by his decisions has proven he cares only about his look good in history.

2007 Bush
“To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we are ready … would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we’d allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.”

Scott Adams, creator of the cartoon Dilbert, has decided he’s had enough and now supports Trump. What really did it for him was how Hillary does the bait and switch, this time with taxing estates. He says he is taxed at 50% currently, and she will grab another 50%, so his kids will have 25 cents on the dollar. While Hillary does the high school speech class performance of screaming about billionaires, in reality estates near 3 million are currently targeted and in the future that number will likely be reduced to hit anyone whose home went up in value in the Bay Area in the past few years. Remember, progressives think it is not your money, you are just keeping it temporarily for the government.

@ FSM #197

Is there a place where we could donate to Scott Adams children? They must be truly hurting with only getting 25 cents on the dollar from their inheritance under the Clinton Estate Tax plan? Because let’s see under the plan the 50% rate applies to estates worth over $10 million per person, 55% for estates over $50 million, and 65% for estates exceeding $500 million.

Meaning an Estate of $100million would incur an effective rate of 47.5% and since Scott tells us they would be taxed at an effective rate of 50% the Estate must be in excess of $100 million.

And since you guys think that is a persuasive argument you must be all willing to give a little bit to the two poor Adams kids.

And while we are at it somebody should give Scott some solid financial advice. He claims he is taxed at an effective rate of 50% which means despite is high earrings he has no income from capital gains which taxed at 20% would reduce his effective tax rate.

Langer Research Associates, with the help of ABC News, found that four in 10 Trump supporters believe minorities have “too much influence” in America, while 1 in 5 said whites don’t have enough influence.

Certainly not “half” of Trump supporters, but close enough (and too close for comfort).

Not surprisingly, those who hold the view that minorities have too much influence are also less educated, more conservative, and are die-hard Trump supporters:

Holding these pro-Trump views -– that is, seeing too little influence for whites and men and too much influence for minorities and women -– peaks among strong conservatives and core Trump supporters, those who wanted him to win the GOPpresidential nomination. It’s also more prevalent among conservatives overall, people who disapprove of Obama’s job performance or feel they’ve gotten worse off financially under his presidency, men and older, less-educated and less well-off Americans.

Who would have thought that white Americans who hate the first black president would think blacks, Hispanics and Latinos have too much influence.

These findings follow a disturbing trend among Trump supporters.
◾Half of Trump supporters believe blacks are more violent and criminal than whites, and 40 percent view them as more “lazy” than whites. The same poll found that 64 percent of Trump supporters do not want to live in a community that is culturally diverse.
◾Eighty-three percent of Trump supporters believe other cultures are a threat to the “American way of life.
◾Only 47 percent of Trump supporters have a favorable feeling towards gays and lesbians, and 39 percent for transgender individuals.
◾Over 60 percent of Trump supporters believe President Obama is a Muslim. Similarly, 67 percent (⅔) of Trump supporters dislike American Muslims.
◾Nearly 20 percent of Trump supporters do not agree with Lincoln freeing the slaves

No wonder Trump loves the poorly educated — they eat up his racist message and proudly expound it wherever they can.

In every major credible poll, Donald Trump lost by double digits. And the good news for Clinton doesn’t end there.

Supporting the debate reaction figures, Clinton also saw a 4 point bump in her election polling as well. It’s not hard to see why. A reported 84 million people tuned into the first presidential debate, a record shattering number. What they saw was Clinton make mince meat of an unprepared and ill-tempered Trump. By the 90th minute, viewers had seen Trump painfully defend his birtherism, lie about fat shaming a former Miss Universe winner, lie about the Iraq War, and go off on an insane tangent about how restrained he was being for not bringing up Bill Clinton’s infidelity. It was a gross spectacle and American voters seemed to recognize that.

Despite all of that, Trump rushed to declare victory citing hilariously unprofessional “online polls” that allowed users to vote multiple times, use multiple accounts, and were susceptible to other forms of tampering. Making matters worse, Trump supporters on hate site 4chan and Trump’s Reddit channel openly bragged about dogpiling any online poll they could find in order to make it appear as if their candidate won. The only person dumb enough to believe them was Trump himself, who, as of this morning, is still bragging about his online poll numbers.
