“39-year-old Concord male was arrested after being contacted by officers. He was released on his signed promise to appear. 10/24/15 ”

Same on 10/20/15
Same on 10/03/15

If it is, “promise to appear” doesn’t seem to be making an impression.

Sounds like the police are only autograph hunting.

The police no longer care about the community. Hence why minor crimes like j-walking go unnoticed.

j-walking in the town of Clayton has to be the worst in the county. People just walk out in front of cars and don’t use the crosswalks. When there is a concert in the park or bocce ball I have almost hit several kids, teens and adults walking across the street anywhere they want. Seems people don’t look or care…

I drive past the bocce courts during games frequently, and often stop or pause for jay-walkers. However, I don’t mind because I am glad to see the community having good, clean fun that causes no harm to the community. The kids are not out throwing tomatoes or eggs, or spraying graffiti, or throwing rocks, or stealing hubcaps. I have to say, though, that if you have almost hit several kids, teens and adults walking across the street, you should avoid that street. Or drive more cautiously. I drive past there multiple times a day and have no trouble stopping without having a close call.

6 Thank you, police! November 2, 2015 at 12:02 PM

There have been several times when I have called the Clayton police over suspicious or minor things that would be ignored elsewhere, and the Clayton police have promptly and caringly gone out of their way to check out the situations.
