Firefighters have controlled a two-alarm fire in the Rossmoor retirement community in Walnut Creek tonight, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District fire marshal said.

Firefighters responded to a report of the fire in the 2600 block of Saklan Indian Drive around 10:30 p.m., Fire Marshal Robert Marshall said.

Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the top of a multi-unit apartment building and had the fire under control around 10:50 p.m., he said.

The fire affected about three to four units, according to Marshall.

No injuries were reported.

The fire is not considered suspicious, he said.

Cheap aluminum wiring in most of those buildings. I’m very surprised there are not more fires caused by inferior electrical wiring.
