UPDATE: Vegetation Fire Near Indian Valley School in Walnut Creek

Firefighters are battling a vegetation fire near Indian Valley Elementary School in Walnut Creek.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.

UPDATE: The fire has been contained at 5 acres.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

I remember back in February of 1994 when a helicopter crashed in the Open Space behind Indian Valley!! I can’t believe that was just over 20 years ago now!!

This doesn’t surprise me.

There was another brush fire not far from there 4-5 years ago, last day of school that year matter of fact.
