I’m not very smart. Why would you refuse to have your vehicle processed for prints? Enlighten me, please.

2 Richard July 6, 2014 at 4:10 PM

unless you are wanted or someone you know that has been in your car too.

3 John Doe July 6, 2014 at 4:56 PM

Tay because the dust required for finger printing causes a mess in your car and is hard to clean. Also because the chances of actually pulling a good finger print is like 5%.

It’s not CSI like on TV, prints aren’t always easy to get/find plus prints on the outside will not be filed on by DA. Due to interior surfaces of most vehicles the odds of finding a good print are beyond slim. If the take is small value wise not worth it, print dust is a powder that can mess with electronics also very messy, if the suspect has no record then they have no prints in the system anyway.
Just a couple of reasons not to but there could be other reasons

“A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest.”

Oh, thank God! What would a dumb*** BART cop do without a sergeant to approve his arrest?

BART pretend police are a bad joke. If you need police services you might as well call the girl scouts.

was waiting to see how long it would take an idiot to make that comment.

7 Betty July 6, 2014 at 6:16 PM

How is it that so many cars are stolen and vandalized in the parking lots at BART? Must be that people are confident there is very little security there.
Amazing.

The same idiot makes that comment every week. I think his wife ran off with a BART cop or something.

13 RedWomen July 6, 2014 at 10:34 PM

Not opposite

14 Elwood July 6, 2014 at 11:26 PM

I disparage BART pretend police regularly and routinely.

They are a bad joke.

They should be disbanded and their responsibilities given to local jurisdictions.

I can only assume that those who take umbrage are BART cops or their relatives.

11 days and counting, WOOHOOOO!

16 Mustang Sally July 7, 2014 at 7:40 AM

I’d decline the black powder all over my ’98 baby too.

17 PhilthyPHRESH July 7, 2014 at 9:40 AM

Lol all you guys clowning the Sargent better not get arrested at Bart. They tend to shoot handcuffed people in the back with a service pistol mistaken as a non lethal taZer.

I wonder what the parking capacity of a BART station is, also the number of auto burglaries and auto thefts on a given day. Given that information, what are the odds of MY vehicle being burglarized or stolen that day? What if my vehicle uses a transponder ignition key?

19 Basel July 7, 2014 at 2:36 PM

Elwood, take your medication.

20 The Authority July 7, 2014 at 6:24 PM

#10 – Nowhere does it say that any “victims” were arrested. Now, who’s the idiot?
