Crews from Contra Costa County Helping Fight Five-Alarm Fire in Cordelia

A five-alarm grass fire in the Cordelia area is threatening structures, according to a Fairfield fire official.

The fire is producing heavy smoke and flames and affecting traffic on westbound Interstate Highway 80 and Interstate 680 in the unincorporated Cordelia area, according to the CHP.

Crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District are also assisting with fighting this fire.

The fire started in Fairfield and moved into unincorporated areas, according to Battalion Chief Bob Stoffel.

I know Cordelia is My grandpa lives there since 1927 The fire station is across the street from Thompson Corner it is a Dive Bar. I called my Grandpa to see if he Okay I left him a voice mail message I also called my mom as well to notify her the fire issue in Cordelia.
