A reach medical helicopter landed at Baldwin Park in Concord just before 5pm on Monday afternoon.

We’re hearing they were transferring a patient from John Muir in Concord to another hospital.

Thanks to Dodee for the picture!

I thought John Muir Concord had a helipad on top of the building?

Thank you Mayor. It came right over our house and it was so loud! A few weeks ago we had a similar experience but the helicopter took another route. Wow! Got me up and moving that’s for sure. I hope the person who needed transport is doing well.

John Muir Walnut Creek; not Concord.

John Muir concord is not a trauma center and when needing a helicopter, most likely it’s a trauma or a burn

It’s on the bottom, duh!

They have a helipad. Maybe it was going to children’s hospital

If they have a trauma usually they call for a ground ambulance to take them to john Muir walnut creek. From what I heard on the scanner it was an inbound patient being transferred to john Muir concord for cardiac.

It was going to UCSF.

Patient was being brought TO CONCORD!! And yes, Concord does not have a helipad. FYI Helicopter transfers are not only for trauma patients people!!

John Muir Concord has a Helicopter pad but it was too windy to use it today today.

Victor Mature- what you heard on the scanner was correct.

Googlesearch for the FAA’s requirements for hospital heliports.

Buchanan Field is nearby with fast ambulance transport service to Concord campus. Baldwin Park is just across the street from the ER; there actually needs to be a security-monitored tunnel under Port Chicago Highway, just my opinion.

But is there actually a helipad on the roof of John Muir Medical Center, Concord Campus? I have no idea….couldn’t even find the hospital listed on the CA list of such helipads. KILLJOY, your mission…should you choose to accept it………..

I heard they were stopping for a picnic lunch….

John Muir Concord does not have a helipad. Look it up on Google maps satellite, there isn’t anywhere on that roof for a helicopter to land.

It looks like there are some medical helicopter fans here… I have an instagram account for John Muir landings. http://instagram.com/heli_spotter

If anyone knows the dispatch frequencies for REACH, please let me know here in Claycord or on Instagram, I’ve been looking for them for a while now.
