June 15, 2014 · 38 comments

Pleasant Hill Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Clickaway Verizon Wireless store on Contra Costa Blvd. in Pleasant Hill.

The crime occurred just after 5pm on Sunday night when two suspects entered the business and confronted the clerk with a handgun.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash they fled the business on foot. A Gold colored sedan was seen in the area that was possibly associated with the suspects.

The suspects are described as two black males in their mid to late-20s.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pleasant Hill Police Department Investigation Division 925-228-4630.

Getting tired of so many of the fools around here preying on the rest of us. It’s really tough with all the drugs and bad behavior. Our city council needs to get on this problem, Concord has really gone down hill in the 24 years I’ve lived here. I guess it’s starting in Pleasant hill, too. What a shame.

Didn’t something like this happen not to long ago?

3 Russ June 16, 2014 at 5:43 AM

Scumbags. How much cash can a cell phone store have? Everyone uses credit to take out a contract………..

4 Anon June 16, 2014 at 5:59 AM

If I am not mistaken this is the 3rd or 4th time this store has been hit maybe it is time to find out why and make some changes. The scum is aware it is an easy target time to make it a hard target for the safty of the Verizon customers.

5 Just once I'd like to read.... June 16, 2014 at 7:05 AM

that the Peuking Maggot robber got a wadd of Hot Lead, rather than a wadd of cash.

Bunny your kidding? Right? Or maybe the question is what world do you live in? Every city has serious problems. People need to start respecting each other and getting involved so those up to no good will be fewer.

Go O-Town!

No really, go back to Oakland!

I don’t think that PH has gone down hill. It is a shame however that folks from other areas come to places like PH to take advantage. I think PH has one of the nicest communities with great people. We can’t let things like this get us down! Even still, the two suspects sound the same in many of the robberies lately. And I Can’t help thinking that it’s the same two guys who have figured out a way to work over this town… We have to catch them!

9 Random Task June 16, 2014 at 8:18 AM

well its a good thing the dems are telling us crime is down and everything is great otherwise it would appear our area is un der siege

What do you expect now days? This generation is being taught that they deserve the same things everyone else has. It’s their “right”. Unfortunately, they aren’t being taught to have any work ethic. Entitlement with no responsibility! Scary!

11 Smart,Goodlooking&Debonaire June 16, 2014 at 8:35 AM

diversity is our strength!

12 Han Solo June 16, 2014 at 8:37 AM

This area is becoming a mecca for this type of crime.

13 Smart,Goodlooking&Debonaire June 16, 2014 at 8:37 AM

I hope no one said anything to offend these young criminals…because that’d be a REAL crime, right lefties?
LOL!!!

14 Smart,Goodlooking&Debonaire June 16, 2014 at 8:42 AM

We must ask ourselves (or is is axe?) …what is it we as a society have done, or failed to do, that has driven these young precious youth to such extremes?

15 army veteran June 16, 2014 at 9:35 AM

And this is why concealed weapon permits can help ordinary citizens…I know this is an unpopular topic and honestly I don’t care but ordinary citizens can stand against this type of garbage.

Close to freeway – weekend worth of cash since banks are closed – seems like easy target profile – Gold vehicle reported before – there’s a pattern

17 Random Task June 16, 2014 at 9:50 AM

what have we done well let’s take a look at that……..first prop 13 was passed because they same people on here saying its our fault are the ones who took away all the money for schools to educate rather than bring up entitled kids who are told the gov will house you feed you and give you free money. These 2 goons are probably still living at home and their parents welfare checks they are just doing their part to fuel the Rhetoric

18 @Army Vet. June 16, 2014 at 9:50 AM

The person with a CCW in the LasVegas shooting
in a walmart store, his funeral was Friday I think.
It is not the answer.

19 Random Task June 16, 2014 at 9:51 AM

worst is yet to come if you look back 50 years this is exactly how Oakland started on its downward spiral …..yet demifornia seems ok with a Detroit lifestyle ……..enjoy

20 Random Task June 16, 2014 at 9:54 AM

well until next report of armed robbery and or death we will toil over this same subject until we are the victim and can complain no more…….enjoy…sleep well

21 @#18 June 16, 2014 at 10:01 AM

At least he had the courage, and means, to fight back. Sounds like he unfortunately couldn’t have know that the woman was a second shooter, when confronting the male shooter.

22 merlebagghard June 16, 2014 at 10:16 AM

These comments are ridiculous. PH is not going downhill. It continues to improve. Concealed weapons are not the solution. There was a robbery. Big deal. Stop your whining.

23 down and out June 16, 2014 at 10:31 AM

Which cities have gone down hill? Did Concord used to be a nice city? What about Antioch? I heard San Leandro used to be nice too.

24 MHarry3 June 16, 2014 at 10:38 AM

This place has had a run of bad luck with getting hit. Seems they need to beef up security in that area because these thieves love this store in particular.
I would love to see them get caught next time. It has been too easy for them……

25 anonanonagain June 16, 2014 at 10:49 AM

@ figures, I totally agree. I see so many youth these days that are wearing designer clothes, sunglasses, top of the line phones. Highly doubt they paid for them. Then you have the other self entitled future barnacles who will be sucking on the system who are still living at home, aren’t enrolled in college or work and are still on their skateboards. They have no concept of what it means to earn it themselves. No sense of pride. Those that are committing the crimes are mostly kids from very broken homes and have usually done poorly in school. The cycle continues……

26 meh June 16, 2014 at 11:33 AM

I went there for a new phone coincidentally after the last robbery a couple months ago and they had almost no stock or displays. Pretty soon they wont even bother to keep this store open.

27 down and out June 16, 2014 at 11:49 AM

I agree. My 8 year old half-brother always wears Abercrombie & Fitch deisgner clothes, owns his own engraved iPad and iPhone, and is currently in sailing camp. His parents are also deadbeats.

28 Bunny is right! June 16, 2014 at 12:29 PM

I used to go to Pleasant Hill for Dinner at Jacks, Pasta Pomodoro, etc….but the last year or so the parking lots are not safe around there and crime is escalating..
I just do not feel safe there anymore.
I gave up going to Concord’s OSF years ago due to almost being mugged way too many times.(and the poor management) Creeps have taken over and now it is just as bad as walking through San Francisco’s seedy areas.
Even Oakland residents hate Oakland, so they come here to rob and terrorize.

29 Clasping Forehead June 16, 2014 at 1:12 PM

Random Task,
Hey, good buddy, you sound pretty far down in the bottle. And it wasn’t even 10 in the morning, dude. Ease up maybe?

30 DummitDowns June 16, 2014 at 1:30 PM

At one time Pleasant Hill, Concord, Pittsburg, Antioch ect had space between them, buffer zones. These cities/towns had their own deal going. Now we are packed in like sardines and the idiots running the show want to build more. Biggest problem- too many people, too much diversity, too many stupid kids emulating prison thugs.

31 Elwood June 16, 2014 at 2:16 PM

“The suspects are described as two black males in their mid to late-20s.”

Sound familiar?

32 Smart,Goodlooking&Debonaire June 16, 2014 at 3:17 PM

i certainly hope no one violated these young gentlemen’s rights!
cause that would be a real crime!!!
LOL!!!

33 Jake June 16, 2014 at 3:40 PM

@Elwood, yes that IS the problem, black males in their 20’s DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM, why can’t anybody else see where the problem lies, my house got robbed a couple months ago, i live in concord, describe the perp, you got it black male in his 20’s, DUH!

34 The Mamba June 16, 2014 at 4:32 PM

How much cash could there be in a cell phone store? Doesn’t seem like a well thought out crime.

35 Robbery watcher June 16, 2014 at 4:41 PM

I bet Jack’s restaurant was packed with Father’s day diners. Just yards away, a robbery at gun point. Lovely.

36 Contonian June 16, 2014 at 6:06 PM

It would be helpful if you could include a link to the location of the events posted in Claycord.com. I would use the “open in a new tab (or page)” code so your readers would not stray from the claycord.com page…

Just a suggestion. I know the area pretty well, but in don’t know EVERY place so a link would be nice.

37 DavidDuke June 16, 2014 at 9:47 PM

“The suspects are described as two black males in their mid to late-20s.”

Cant believe they went out robbing when they could have been spending time with their fathers… Oh, wait.

38 Idiocracy June 17, 2014 at 10:55 AM
