There’s a new baby beaver in Martinez, and it’s on video!

The video is courtesy of Moses Silva! This is the 8th litter of beavers born in Martinez in the past few years.

Thanks to Heidi Perryman with for passing along the video!

And now………………drum roll…………….the beaver jokes………………..

Nature is wonderful. Amidst all of the chaos, something as wonderful as this happens.

Aaaaahhhh!!! Giant rats have invaded Martinez. Sorry Pegasus, not gonna touch the beaver jokes.

Some people think these guy’s are cute, but the neighbors that live next to them say they are causing problems for them.

Lovely! The beavers are being beavers. Certain people might want to move away from the creek!

@ Mark:

Now you went and did it. Just wait for the endless indignation from the hordes letting you know how arrogant your neighbors are because these creatures inconvenience them.

Call Bill Murray, you’ve heard of Varmint Cong, now we have Beaver Cong!

Those darn beavers are making dams and the water is coming onto my property.

Silva June 10, 2014 at 11:50 AM

That creek had problems long before the beavers came BACK.

Beaver dams around the bay area; who knew they were here before us. It’s great to see nature at work.

c'mon kids! June 10, 2014 at 3:18 PM

I could sure use a beaver joke.

Nice Beaver! June 10, 2014 at 6:45 PM

I thought this whole beaver thing was done in Martinez. Beavers don’t bring people to Martinez anymore. No one is going to open retail either despite the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce. They need to invest in restaurants and bars that will bring in business other than the 12-1 jury duty crowd for lunch. Even the beavers can’t go to McDonalds after 6pm……..not that that is the type of restaurants that should be done there. This could be a great place for promising chefs that can’t afford to operate in cities such as Walnut Creek. For those of you that read thru this, I leave you with….. Can the Beaver come out play?

i love how too many peoples first concept is
how human. honestly.
btw, there’s fresh water otters working their way to Walnut Creek.
kill them too?
how about the badger spotted in the sierra nevada?
how many decades since? thought extinct?
oh shoot, kill them too.
yes. tree hugging.
