Expect Delays on Willow Pass Rd. in Concord through Friday Evening

Expect delays on Willow Pass Rd. from Lynwood Dr. to Hwy. 4 from 7am-6pm until Friday due to road work.

Contra Costa County public works department is performing the road work, which will place a chip seal in the area identified above. A chip seal involves spraying liquid asphalt on the pavement followed by the spreading of a layer of small rock that is embedded into oil.

The speed limit through work zones is 25-mph.

I’ll take what I can get, but seeing it properly paved would have been better. Thanks….I guess.

Glad to see ANY road maintenance going on.

How many times can you slurry seal a road top?
How many times can you lie to constituents about the city’s finances?

Remember to renew and expand tax Measure Q next year!

A couple percent should cover all the neglected roadways, overdue “maintenance”, donor favors at taxpayer expense, and underfunded pension liabilities. It’s only (our) money after all.

@ AT, this area isn’t getting a penny thrown its direction until the CNWS project starts up.. The roads, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping (or lack of) all scream “leftovers” as far as the city council is concerned. Edi keeps an eye on this stretch of road, but this patchwork fix only helps with cracks and crevices. Its still a bumpy ride both directions. We can only hope when 2016 rolls around, these blocks won’t be skipped over as Senno’s boys start building their lopsided cookie cutters with adjustable foundations.

BFF Out!

When are they going to widen Willow Pass Rd from Lynwood Dr to Hwy 4? Too many people have been killed along that roadway.

This seal is the worse they could have used. Cheap though.

7 How about the fencing? May 21, 2014 at 5:58 PM

Think they’ll do anything to fix the fencing that has been crashed into about a dozen times and not fixed?

How about fixing from Landana towards downtown?!? Bump-iest ride ever! I hate having to drive WP and will avoid it at all costs.

Yes, Willow Pass Road from Safeway all the way out to 4 is just horrible and so is Bailey on the Concord side. I won’t hold my breath for Seeno to fix the road when CNWS project starts. It will probably just wind up to be a GIANT lawsuit.

10 Well.. May 22, 2014 at 12:55 PM

For a city that hates that side of town, I’m surprised they are even doing that much.

Seeno will just screw Concord over like he continues to do in Antioch. Antioch likes the punishment and keeps coming back for more.
