On Friday morning just after 1am, Walnut Creek Police Officers responded to a business called “The Bar Method” (1946-A Mt. Diablo Blvd) on a report of a burglary in-progress.

Officers arrived in less than a minute and the suspect was seen running away from the building, according to the Walnut Creek Police. A perimeter was immediately set up and a police K9 was utilized.

The suspect initially eluded capture, but was later spotted by an alert officer who remained in the area, police said.

The suspect was found to be in possession of stolen property and positively identified as being responsible for two separate commercial burglaries to the same business, police said.

Walnut Creek Police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Concord resident Juan Rodriguez. He was arrested for commercial burglary, possession of stolen property and an unrelated warrant.

Rodriguez was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility and booked on the above charges.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at 925-943-5844.
