URGENT UPDATE: The MDUSD has Taken the Item About Head Lice off the Agenda for Tonight’s Meeting

The item about head lice that was scheduled to be discussed at tonight’s Mt. Diablo Unified School District school board meeting has been taken off the agenda.

We’re hearing the district believes the item needs more review before it is brought before the board.

As we first reported, the MDUSD was scheduled to revise their policy on head lice. Under the new policy, if a student has head lice, the parents will be notified, and the student with head lice will stay in school and “not be isolated or otherwise be subjected to restrictions of his/her activities,” according to the district.

We were looking at the full agenda this evening, researching other topics, and noticed the item about head lice was no longer on the agenda. We asked one board member, and he/she did confirm that it was taken off the agenda.

Shouldn’t the government solve this problem? Can’t they build gender-neutral baths and spas at school for the kids? No child should be bullied due to gender perceptions, lice, or body odor!

Aw c’mon, Mayor, couldn’t you find any scary pics of lice? It’s like you’re not even trying any more!

They will just hide this item and bring it back. It is too hot to handle right now. Oh so typical.

Nice of them to give a heads up.

They should try actually having lice before bringing it up for a vote that will affect a lot of kids, parents, and who knows who all.

Months people! SOMETIMES IT TAKES MONTHS TO GET RID OF LICE! Say no to lice inclusion at OUR mdusd schools. Or ya’ll gonna get it! NO JOKE!

Dirty rotten scoundrels.

I appreciate the board’s service to the community. I know that it’s a thankless job usually, and comes with a lot of name calling from some who simply disagree with them.

How about a little respect?
