Column: Creative Space on Claycord – There’s Still Time to Create a Unique Handmade Gift for Mother’s Day!

You only have a couple days, but that’s still enough time to pull out some craft supplies and create something really special that Mom will love. Here are three of my favorite projects that I’ve designed for and given as gifts over the years. Even if you’re new to crafting, you can do this! I provide step-by-step instructions, a supply list and a brief video tutorial for each project. Try it, you’ll like it…and so will Mom.

Turn a not-so-pretty discount tray into something beautiful for the coffee table or nightstand with a couple sheets of art paper and some decoupage medium. Click here for written instructions.

Glam up a plain paper maché box with some paint, texture medium and fun embellishments…it’s not just a gift box anymore, now it’s the gift! Perfect for stashing photos, jewelry, scarves or other treasures. Click here for written instructions.

Make a vacation memory even more memorable with this scrapbook art panel. Surround Mom’s favorite photo with themed papers, travel ephemera and lettering for hanging on the wall. Click here for written instructions.
