Here’s the article about the road rage shooting in San Jose this morning. The suspects were in a silver VW according to reports on TV. Perhaps it’s the same silver VW?

“The vehicle is registered out of Walnut Creek”
Hmm, I guess all the trash isn’t always from Antioch/Pittsburg after all? Maybe the people in WC shouldn’t throw stones….

17 JET May 7, 2014 at 7:02 AM

unconscious but moving is like saying that they are gay but straight

18 @Christy May 7, 2014 at 7:20 AM

20 Clayton rd. May 7, 2014 at 7:45 AM

Wait didn’t they say he was driving a Jetta rabbit? 100 mph? No way..

21 Cowellian May 7, 2014 at 7:52 AM

Hello Walnut Creek Police Department?
I’d like to report a stolen VW.

22 throwing stones May 7, 2014 at 7:54 AM

the news report this morning stated the vehicle was stolen out of Walnut Creek by a 19yo CONCORD Resident.

23 Cuzzzzzzzzzzzzz May 7, 2014 at 7:55 AM

Heard on the news t his morning that the PD is already gearing up for a potential lawsuit by the family of the criminal…..Really. Jack@ass stole a vehicle and was fleeing from police and the family will more than likely sue??? The PD needs to sue the family for raise a jerk that steals other peoples property.
Ahhhh yes…………Only in California, only in America

24 me May 7, 2014 at 8:03 AM

hope the officers don’t get in trouble for violating their pursuit policy…seems like it must have been a pretty significant violation to be pursuing at 110 mph and putting so many other people at risk.

25 NutCreek Frontier May 7, 2014 at 8:20 AM

Glad they caught these very dangerous people, am horrified that the car is registered out of Walnut Creek, cutting someone off and then shooting them…will be very curious to see whom is capable of such a heinous act.

26 anon May 7, 2014 at 8:33 AM

Let them sue. They will lose and can pay for all the court cost. Do they really think a jury will be on their side? The driver was the one endangering the public and the police.

27 @#24 May 7, 2014 at 8:35 AM

What section(s) of the pursuit policy did they violate? Its a felony, its 10:30PM, and on the freeway. There’s people regularly driving 85mph+ on 680 that time of night anyway. Don’t you think if the police had a policy that cut them off at 100mph, every criminal would just drive faster knowing that the police would stop chasing them? It would be even worse. God, every time they stop chasing someone on here people like you start complaining too. There’s no winning for them.

28 REALLY!!??? May 7, 2014 at 8:38 AM

@cuzzzz they talking lawsuit already!!??? How sad for PD.. 19 stolen car high speed chase! …If its the same kid his” My Space” shows him drinking beer, pic of big wad of cash pot & pipe! really!??? going play big time gangster have to pay the piper! ….super sad! let see the parents are going say that if that had not chased him he would not have crashed!????
WHAT HELL IS WRONG WITH KIDS THESE DAYS, AND THE PARENTS!????

29 PO'd May 7, 2014 at 8:40 AM

Darwin at work.Good work by CPD for not losing this loser.I hope he has a long arduous recovery so that he won’t be tempted to do it again.I also hope others that flee the police with a high speed chases are paying attention-you’re not invincible.

30 Peanut Gallery May 7, 2014 at 8:47 AM

Another sh*t bag……screw him

31 P hill May 7, 2014 at 8:59 AM

I was on 680 last night and saw the chase by the north main st exit and let me tell you…THEY WERE MOBBIN!

32 anon May 7, 2014 at 9:07 AM

i know.. let’s have someone steal the family’s car while a cop sits in his car and watches and then does absolutely nothing. It’s obvious these parents never believed in consequences for bad behavior. When parents do not teach their children that bad behavior will have a negative consequence, eventually they can expect the laws of society will. If they do sue I hope they get a judge that can slap some sense into them. Parents teach your kids! At least teach them one thing… stealing cars and being chased by the cops never ends up good for you.

33 Nuttsie the Nutter May 7, 2014 at 9:27 AM

So Mr DuckyWucky, I guess that makes Clive Bundy an Obama voter as he has been taking free stuff from the government for 20 years.

34 me May 7, 2014 at 9:27 AM

#27…
I have been in pursuits- you must balance the risk/benefit of continuing the pursuit vs. the risk/benefit to the public. Going 80 MPH is not a felony. CHP shuts down pursuits often due to these conditions. It is true that the criminal may get away but if the car returns to an owner in Walnut Creek don’t you think that they could follow up by sending an officer to the residence? I realize that the car might have been an unreported stolen vehicle. However, if you or a loved one were killed during the pursuit I guarantee that you (or your family members) would be getting a lawyer. Ultimately, I’m glad he was caught and hope for a stiff penalty.

35 ANON May 7, 2014 at 10:07 AM

” I hope for the best for all involved.”

Why would you say that–they could have killed you or your kids/grandkids–we all hope these punks kill themselves without hurting others.. we all know they will be back out there soon.

36 @anon May 7, 2014 at 10:37 AM

It doesn’t surprise me at all that you think that
way. There is so much you don’t understand.
Wishing the best to those involved is all inclusive.
Do you think the officers involved are happy
they chased this person and the result was as
terrible crash and injuries.
You, as all the other’s that are glad this person
was injured, and those that feel he should be
dead are not right thinking ” Christians”.
Quoting the bible, really. A thief was on the
cross next to Jesus, recall that? Turning the
other cheek ring a bell? Forgiviness, forget that
bit of basic Christian Faith?
You that post these ” hard ass” comments are
as dangerous a threat to a progressive society
as criminals are.

37 Save the Kids/ Questions to Ponder May 7, 2014 at 12:52 PM

Why are these teenage car thefts and pursuits becoming a daily occurrence ?
Where are these kids getting their drugs and Alcohol?
Why do they not fear Police and other Authorities?
Who are their Parent/Teachers and how did they become so violent and ignorant?

38 @34 May 7, 2014 at 1:53 PM

I never said going 80mph is a felony, but last I checked 10851(a)VC (see #22) is still a felony. Things like time of day and traffic conditions are things that are part of what should be weighed when evaluating risk. At 10:30PM on 680 it sounds like they probably would have been in the Sgt.’s favor to continue the pursuit. If you’ve been in pursuits, I’m sure you could see why someone on the internet insinuating that officers violated a policy, and might receive discipline, with no real facts supporting that position, would be pretty annoying.

39 JET May 7, 2014 at 2:06 PM

My biggest concern about this whole thing: why would anyone steal a Volkswagen? I mean bro, if you’re going down you should go big (i.e. Bentley, Porsche) but a VW? ahhaaaaa

40 REALLY!!??? May 7, 2014 at 2:14 PM

@jet… guess you know nothing about VW/ cars they are made by the same people who make Porsche…..maybe you should check out some rally cars ;)
Just saying :))))

41 anon May 7, 2014 at 2:35 PM

It’s up to the Sergeant to stop a pursuit. But since he started the pursuit he didn’t want to cancel the high speed chase because it’s exciting.

42 misterb May 7, 2014 at 4:05 PM

This guy came roaring over the hill on Ygnacio Valley Road toward Walnut Creek, splitting lanes like a motorcycle, then slowing down to the speed limit, then taking off again, shifting lane to lane, went into the left turn lane at Bancroft just to shoot back down Ygnacio cutting off those in the proper lane. I wondered where he would head after I turned off at Civic. Too bad, but not a surprise..

43 misterb May 7, 2014 at 4:18 PM

I meant to preface my earlier comment with:

“I wonder if this is the same guy I encountered around 5 pm in a sliver VW.”

44 fyi May 7, 2014 at 5:19 PM

Unconcious but moving = seizure

45 Anonymous May 7, 2014 at 8:40 PM

If the PD has a pursuit policy and they follow it they are immune from lawsuits. Period

Check out this link: This kid has had quite a run into the law lately….Don’t you think? My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this lost soul.

47 Brig May 8, 2014 at 11:23 AM

@ Christy ( Parents wanted a son named Christopher ? ) – You really did not put a lot of thought into your comment did you? Here’s how it works sweets. The low income/ criminals who reside in Antioch, Gun Point, Pittsburgh, Martinez, etc… drive to the high income neighborhoods, Walnut creek in this case, where they can steal something worth stealing. Do you honestly think they are going to steal a hooptie from their neighborhood? Man I tell ya, common sense is few and far in between these days.

48 A-parent May 8, 2014 at 4:06 PM

Yes, the youngster made a “critical” mistake that jeopardized innocent people but it is not our decision to judge or crucify this young man based upon his one (major) decision! Y’all do not personally know this individual and have not walked in his shoes! He is someone’s son, someone’s sibling, someone’s friend–he is a fellow human being! I am in no way condoning or encouraging such behavior, but many of these ignorant/ill-wishing comments lead me to believe that the majority make critical daily decisions from malicious, negative, and hatefilled hearts. Let’s pray for this young man and “all y’all”, too.

49 Cowellian May 8, 2014 at 4:25 PM

Another thug-groupie heard from.

50 breezy May 10, 2014 at 12:11 AM

This was one of my closest friends who made a mistake. We are all grieving. R.I.p mike

51 A-parent May 10, 2014 at 1:28 PM

I am not a “thug-groupie”, as comment #50 from Cowellian suggests. I am a parent of a teen who was a friend of Michael Holden. WAS, is the key word–Mr. Holden is no longer with us. His ill decision cost him his life! I am very saddened by this entire turn of events–I am so sick as I think of this young, lost life, lost soul! I am so sad that my teen son and his friends have to experience the deep pain of death! They are too young! Parents face the daily challenge to guide their offspring to “do the right thing”. Most importantly, I pray. Every time the phone rings, I panic! What really alarms me is that every time I view an article on this website the majority of comments are negative, heartless and ugly–the Lynch Mob, as a prior comment appropriately coined! Stop and think before you spew! My child learned this lesson in middle school! Think of what you write, think of the audience who may be reading! Be aware! Maybe, if there were less hate, we’d see less “drug use”/crime. Our environment grows what it is fed. It is just as easy to be positive. “I am just saying”. Thank you.
