A vehicle towing another vehicle lost control and flipped on highway-4 near Willow Pass Rd. in Concord today, according to witnesses.

We’re hearing no major injuries were reported, and the crash was cleared shortly after the flip.

Thanks to Joseph D. Porter for the pictures and the information.

Why would a person tow a car backwards using a dolly rig?

His luck ran out.

What a dumbazz! Vehicles ars are not supposed to be towed backwards on a dolly. He/she probably relied on the Honda’s steering wheel to lock it “straight” but it still has a bit of play. He/she should have called in a rollback.

In this case, the tail wagged the dog. Once the oscillations start it’s only a matter of time before… well, you guessed it. Ta-dah.

He/she will probably due whomever he rented the dolly from because he was not told about towing vehicles in reverse. Stupid is as stupid does.

Of course the cheesy Toyota is fine, ha.

That car probs has an analog odometer. I bet Super Genius was trying to turn it back.

This is what happens when you tow a REAR WHEEL DRIVE Lexus on a dolly thats meant for a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE car.

Poor idiot should have paid the 20 dollars extra for the full transport.

Hope you got the insurance, otherwise you will be paying an extra 2 grand for that dolly.

Weight Distribution? 60% of the weight in the front. I think… NOT

The tow truck option should be looking way smarter VS the car hauler rental.

There is a reason why tow trucks exist – while sure you *can* tow a car this way – IMHO the risk (particularly on the freeway) is simply not worth the money saved.

If the car being towed is rear-wheel-drive then you tow it from the rear.

Right now, the tow it forward, with the old heavy hemp rope, and a tire in between, ( like the old days) is looking real good. This was a disaster, waiting to happen.

#15 please do not use my moniker “Darwin” I have had it for several years…

Just because they will rent you a dolly doesn’t mean you should.
