There’s a ditch there, you’ll get stuck.

I very rarely post on Claycord but had to on this one. What is wrong with people? Even if there wasn’t a ditch, why would anyone in their right mind think it is ok to just make a u-turn in the middle of a street?

Suzanne April 19, 2014 at 12:34 PM

lol, can’t drive.

ANON April 19, 2014 at 12:38 PM

Forget the ditch–its illegal– but people around here don’t care about the laws

You mean ... April 19, 2014 at 12:56 PM

even if you drive an infinity?, and I hope it
was a passenger that took that photo.

but three do. 🙂

I think I can make it.
Wife: Don’t you even think about it.
I can make it.
Wife: Don’t do it, don’t you dar…

Morons. And #3 is right. Ever see how people approach stop signs in Clayton? They usually roll right through and don’t stop.

And we have another candidate for the Darwin award!

Shulla April 19, 2014 at 1:38 PM

Just this last Thursday, I saw a white sub-compact car stuck in the same situation. On my return trip (1 hr. later), the people were still sitting there. It appears this is happening more than I thought. Mental giants..

anon April 19, 2014 at 1:52 PM

So if you can’t make a U turn where’s the sign saying no U turn.

AngelB April 19, 2014 at 2:12 PM

They would probably think the sign was a dare… lol

Can't Fix . . . . . . April 19, 2014 at 3:55 PM

Bet ya didn’t know, they’re building “stupid” traps.

H April 19, 2014 at 4:21 PM

I drove down ygnacio at about 10:30 this morning, looks like maybe a bit before this guy, and saw someone do the same thing. They were lucky and did not get stuck, but all of us behind her loved getting the gravel thrown up on our cars, not! When people pull this, it freaks other drivers out, and will cause an accident, and they’ll probably drive off!

So, did the car get stuck? April 19, 2014 at 4:55 PM

@Duh #1,
It is actually legal to make a u-turn in the middle of many streets.

@anon #12,
There doesn’t need to be a sign because it’s illegal to make a u-turn across two sets of double yellow lines.

Me April 19, 2014 at 4:56 PM

Got your truck stuck?

Marianne April 19, 2014 at 4:57 PM

Idiot… 🙂

Old Guy April 19, 2014 at 4:57 PM

Can’t fix stupid either! Wonder how some of these folks get a drivers license.

Peanut Gallery April 19, 2014 at 5:00 PM

People just don’t care, they do whatever the hell they want

Skippy April 19, 2014 at 5:09 PM

There’s another $300 at Big O.

Sunnymoon April 19, 2014 at 5:57 PM

Jerk. There is a traffic light up ahead. If you must make a u-turn, drive a little (save a lot.)

Anon April 19, 2014 at 6:11 PM

Sorry but illegal aliens and Yhe PhunTard are exempt from laws or common sense.

Roa King Terry April 19, 2014 at 6:25 PM

I’m amazed at the foolishness of drivers in this area!

Michelle April 19, 2014 at 6:26 PM

I’m sure he’ll get fined. (Not!)

Roa King Terry April 19, 2014 at 6:28 PM

Uh, soild double yellow lines…

Barbosa April 19, 2014 at 6:37 PM

Traffic laws and signs are really more of a guideline and suggestion than absolute rules.

I am guessing... April 19, 2014 at 7:35 PM

that 90% of the claycordians here do this on a daily basis.

They just don’t care.

Dr. Jellyfinger® April 19, 2014 at 8:00 PM

I did it years ago in a little POS ’74 mustang. No problem. It was an emergency tho, not normal driving habit to do such a bizarre thing… having lived here all my life I usually know where I’m going.

Abbie R. April 19, 2014 at 9:44 PM

I still wish I could have taken a photo of the car on Contra Costa Blvd. that was driving down the road with a gas station hose attached to it’s gas fill intake pipe.

ClayDen April 19, 2014 at 10:07 PM

Any relationship to the owner buying a car from a company partially owned by the French Government?

Silva April 19, 2014 at 10:11 PM

I can freely say that in my 4 + decades of driving that road it never occurred to me to try that.

Meee April 20, 2014 at 10:06 AM

Just wondering who took the photo? The driver? While driving? If I am wrong, I apologues, hopefully it was a passenger reaching over the driver to take it, but still. Even if stopped on a road, you cannot use your cell phone, that goes not only for texting, but talking or photographing..

anonanonagain April 20, 2014 at 10:27 AM

Why didn’t they just drive to the next light and make a U-turn legally?? Oh that’s right. They can do whatever they want……Morons.

Walnut Creek Resident April 20, 2014 at 11:14 AM

I sure agree with you Silva!! Me too. I would never try to pull that How dumb is that?

How about the fools who use the TURN ONLY lane on Ygnacio Valley Rd, turn on Oak Grove and then immediately flip a U-Turn on Oak Grove so they can get back on Ygnacio Valley, getting in front of all the people who wait their turn.

Cowellian April 21, 2014 at 1:30 PM

That used to irritate me back when I had to turn left onto Oak Grove to get to Northgate, and we’d watch people turn right and make that immediate U-turn and blow through Ygnacio Valley. It would be easy enough to put in enough of a median on Oak Grove to prevent the U-turns.

rattler April 21, 2014 at 1:48 PM

wrong one lol
