VIDEO: Police Chase White Cadillac in Downtown Concord

April 6, 2014 10:41 am · 40 comments

Thanks to Jr Duarte Jimenez for the video of the Concord Police chasing the white Cadillac on Saturday night.

The pursuit started when the Cadillac rammed a Concord Police patrol vehicle on Friday night. The Cadillac got away on Friday, but was spotted again on Saturday night. The chase lasted several minutes while the suspect drove through Concord, Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek.

Eventually, the suspect foot-bailed on Oak Grove Rd. He was not located after a search that lasted over an hour.

I have a hand held scanner but can’t get Concord PD channels anymore for some reason. Does anyone use a scanner on the iPad? If so, which app are you using, and how good is it?

CPD will capture this creep April 6, 2014 at 10:56 AM

it’s only a matter of time.

TeamUSA April 6, 2014 at 10:57 AM

Police scanner app is pretty good

Jose April 6, 2014 at 10:59 AM

@Curious I use 5-0 radio on iPad and it works pretty well, I was able to listen to the concord pd channel when all this was going on last night

hali April 6, 2014 at 11:06 AM

wow, how do the cops lose him? they were so close. arent their cars much faster?

nytemuvr April 6, 2014 at 11:15 AM

Just learned a new word that is used for reckless drivers…”Hoon” is a term used in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, to refer to anyone who engages in loutish, anti-social behaviors. In particular, it is used to refer to one who drives a car or boat in a manner which is anti-social by the standards of contemporary society, i.e. too fast, too noisily or too dangerously.”
I think this guy qualifies as a Hoon….

Hey ! April 6, 2014 at 11:26 AM

That was my grandpa !

@hali April 6, 2014 at 11:35 AM

Read the article. He foot bailed. They have the car, but the perp ran faster than the cops.

dont trip April 6, 2014 at 11:54 AM

Lmaoooooo he wasn’t even smashinq and he still qot away ahahahaha qood job cpd.

@hali April 6, 2014 at 11:55 AM

The cops disabled his car and the guy ran into a neighborhood. The helicopter mistakenly thought it saw someone in a yard and the guy got away while the cops were looking at the wrong spot.

Mr. Mayor rules! April 6, 2014 at 12:02 PM

very exciting nigh, listening to the Police Scanner.. Better than a movie.
It’s nice to know what is going on in your neighborhood. Thanks Mr. Mayor.
Hope we get to hear about the capture of this bozo.

Harry Callahan April 6, 2014 at 12:03 PM

When will you people stop messing around with this guy? He’s gotta be stopped now!

MC Rider April 6, 2014 at 12:33 PM

Funny, I listen to the scanner in Sacramento and 9 times out of 10 they catch the perp that is evading arrest. Turn around and listen to Concord and it is just the opposite. 9 times out of 10 they loose the perp.

anon April 6, 2014 at 12:40 PM

harry, time to join the p.d. and show em what ya got.

Anonymous April 6, 2014 at 12:44 PM

@MC Rider – Was thinkin’ the same thing. How is it that Concord PD can spend HOURS looking for suspects and, 9 times out of 10, NOT find them??

Cat Wrangler April 6, 2014 at 1:14 PM

What a creep! How dare he ram a police car! I hope the police officer wasn’t harmed and is OK. TY CPD heroes for your continued wonderful service to our community! You put yourselves in harm’s way each and every day so the rest of us can be safe. You are awesome heroes.

Random Task April 6, 2014 at 1:25 PM

well that didn’t take long …….welcome to the new Oakland and surrounding areas ……get ready for multiple crimes by criminals who get away and do it again and even if caught they go free ….dems have done a fine job at setting it up so criminals have a fighting chance to repeat and have no recourse but a 6month stint. No guns = crime spree and weekend felony battery’s the norm …….thanks dems for setting the wolves on us ……….YAY

PO'd April 6, 2014 at 1:38 PM

How in the hell does this driver elude multiple cars 2 nights in a row?? This guy is good!! Concord PD better find this POS, mainly because others are watching. The last thing Concord PD needs is a reputation of not catching
perps who will do anything not to get caught.

PO'd April 6, 2014 at 1:52 PM

FOR SALE early 2000’s white Cadillac De Ville with high performance options. Quick-good acceleration. Great high speed handling. Some front damage (minor)-doesn’t affect performance.Price negotiable.
Remember: nothing outruns a Caddy!

bluebird April 6, 2014 at 1:54 PM

Is he stupid or what? Rams a CPD police vehicle and then drives the same car around Concord the next night. I know the answer but I am still not believing anyone could be that stupid.

Chad April 6, 2014 at 1:59 PM

Way to go CPD.

No way April 6, 2014 at 2:10 PM

” The chase lasted several minutes”.
Oh please, the chase lasted much longer than
that. I happened to check broadcastify, just as
they began to follow this creep, he was all over
Concord, P.Hill border into walnut creek,
back up Y.V. Where they tried to pit this clown,
failed three times and ended up back where it
started. The police officer could not deploy
spike strips because they were broken, come
on, how can you go into service w/ out checking
your tools?
But because he ended up so near to where they
started, my guess is he ended up at one of his
homies places.
CPD. Has got a long way to go in these foot bails.
Their capture rate is not very good. I am not
anti law enforcement, but ours need better training
and cooperation between cars in these types
of events. Good luck CPD.

Lari April 6, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Was just a low-flying chopper circling over Ygnacio/Pine Hollow and wondered if they are still searching….

Naco April 6, 2014 at 2:33 PM

Heard the ghetto bird last night, good scanner listening. HM, white t, shaved head. I also noticed the confusion of direction among the officers. It might be easier use geographical landmarks instead of n,s,e and w. The broken gate also threw them for a loop, giving them a false lead. Why would this guy return to town is beyond me.

Steve Martin April 6, 2014 at 3:44 PM

He didn’t outrun the Cops with the Caddy, he bailed out & ran into the densely populated neighborhood. Not saying all Hispanics look alike but he’d be easier to spot if he were a white guy with red hair.

If Officer Matt Switzer and Figo had been around he would have been caught meat.

anonymous April 6, 2014 at 6:01 PM

I am authorizing deadly force next time.

The Bus April 6, 2014 at 6:09 PM

Claycord, it’s really sad that you pick and choose the comments that you allow when it comes to stories about the Concord Police Department. But you do allow horrible and very hurtful things to be posted on other stories. I wonder how many other people are being censored? No foul language was used!

Do you approve your comments in between someone’s mood swings!

Matt Switzer is an embarrassment to the Concord PD and every officer out there!

@ the bus April 6, 2014 at 8:06 PM

Why dont you start your own site if Claycord is so bad?

@ The Bus #29 April 6, 2014 at 9:00 PM

Maybe I’m not the only one this happens to? …. After typing out a comment… if I close the comment window fairly quickly my comment tends to not make it on the site. If I wait a few minutes it’ll be there. Try that?

@Random Task April 6, 2014 at 10:29 PM

I think you’ve been watching too much Faux News.

hope April 7, 2014 at 12:01 AM

I think it’s staged

Kmya April 7, 2014 at 4:17 AM

Good job CPD. Another outstanding effort. Stick to what your good at and write cell phone tickets. Morons.

The SECRET to promptly ending a foot chase.... April 7, 2014 at 6:52 AM

….Nike SFB Special Chukka Field Boot…These provide the best footing in a various terrain while drawing a bead on a fleeing suspect and squeezing off a single shot to the torso….They are also waterproof so you can stand there chuckling at the Pathetic Peuking Maggot as he flops around like a stinking rat in a putrid puddle of his own death bile and feces…..

tyler April 7, 2014 at 9:50 AM

To #29 – I have had the same questions and the same problems, but now I will try what #31 suggested and see what happens because I posted a comment that should have been approved in regard to Switzer, but wasn’t.

Funnyclown April 7, 2014 at 10:08 AM

There they go chasing some lunatic who gets away, they should stick to taking pills, and kicking it at starbucks.

anon April 7, 2014 at 10:13 AM

I heard from a reliable witness that he was a black male with dread locks. I also read that he was a hispanic male with a shaved head. So what’s his real description?

VikingPrincess April 7, 2014 at 6:16 PM

Did they catch this brazen poor excuse for a fashion statement yet?
I’d check auto dealerships…he’s probably trading that thing in as soon as he can. Idiots.

kira April 7, 2014 at 6:40 PM

I’m sick and tiered of the people that are against our brave people that try to get these low life no good people that have no regard for anybody but trying to get away with crime. Get those BAD PEOPLE. Concord PD rules;)
