Claycordian Finds Stolen ATM While Hiking on Reliez Valley Rd. in Lafayette

A Claycordian located what appeared to be a stolen ATM this morning.

Here’s the note….

I think I found that stolen ATM this morning. I was on my normal walk in unincorporated Lafayette, on Reliez Valley Rd., when my friend and I spied something in the creek that didn’t appear normal. Upon closer examination, it was an ATM, with the front broken open. I called it in to the Contra Costa County Sheriff, and they were going to send someone out to look into it.

No word yet on who owns the ATM.

Maybe there’s fingerprints/DNA evidence on it.

Make sure you collect the “finder’s fee”.

lol, I guess they really had no intention of setting it up somewhere; too much work to get them to carry that machine to the right spot so they could render it useless after they took everything out of it. Not going to happen–send the admin with the completed paperwork for a signature please; and then pick it up. Thank You!

iluvfriedchicken – no chance of fingerprints on a metal object, especially after the rains.

Umm we live nearby and reported it to the Sheriff on the 30th. When he came out that evening he wasn’t particularly concerned and it still stayed out there for several days.
