UPDATE: Injury Crash Blocking Lanes on SB H-242 in Concord

An injury crash was blocking two lanes of state Highway 242 in Concord this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was first reported on Highway 242 just south of state Highway 4 at about 2:35 p.m., CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

Two left lanes were blocked on the southbound side, and injuries have been reported, Bartlett said.

Traffic was reportedly backing up on the connector ramps between the two highways, he said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 2:48 p.m.

UPDATE, 3:15pm: The California Highway Patrol has cleared an injury crash that blocked a portion of state Highway 242 in Concord this afternoon.

The crash was first reported on Highway 242 just south of state Highway 4 at about 2:35 p.m., CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

Two left lanes were blocked on the southbound side for about 45 minutes, and injuries were reported, Bartlett said.

Traffic remained heavy in the area as of 3:15 p.m. and motorists were being advised to take alternate routes.

People were seen running across the road to escape law enforcement.

is how you disrespectful tools drive. I had the misfortune of making a trip to Antioch saturday and it began to rain while returning to Concord. Hwy 4 = No turn signals, No headlights, Cut in front of you when it’s unsafe to do so.
I guess that’s the only way to get back at people when you’re a piece of trash – It makes you feel powerful. Oh, and don’t let me leave out the fools that think the roadways are their personal garbage dump!

They drive like that everywhere. You can only control how you drive ,so just keep your cool. I know it’s hard to take, but what can you do. I don’t like driving these days myself.

too much fast and furious driving everywhere and just car racing; i find it more difficult on 4/242 all the way through walnut creek than 4. it’s everywhere; 680 to Dublin is just nuts.
