Power Pole Severed During Alleged DUI Hit & Run Crash on Roslyn Dr. in Concord

March 19, 2014 · 15 comments

A power pole was severed during an alleged DUI hit & run crash on Roslyn Dr. in Concord just before 10pm on Wednesday.

One person was injured, and we’re hearing the driver was possibly a female in her late-teens, although that hasn’t been confirmed.

The driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, and was located a short time later running on the campus of El Monte Elementary school.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening facial injuries.

The driver’s identity hasn’t been released at this time.

PG&E is on their way to the scene to replace the power pole.

I just talked to the PG&E Supervisor that came out this morning to view the pole. He said the uninsured girl that crashed the car will be getting a bill for over $30,000 to replace the pole. That’s on top of the $10,000 or so for the DUI.

Someone has graduated from hydrants to power poles.

It’s unfortunately that many people run from accidents they cause instead of showing backbone and owning up to what they’ve done. Pretty rude.

Rough year for power poles.

So it appears hit and runs are the “in” thing lately…

@Rosyln Res.
Glad to hear she’ll be getting a hefty bill for her actions.

So upsetting that kids/adults drive under the influence. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to everyone she knows. Glad no other cars or people were involved.

Glad she’s caught and not endangering anyone else. Wonder how they intend to collect the $40k.

They may send her the bill but you think she’s ever going to pay it!!

Too many idiots with driving privileges. She is lucky she was able to even run after that stupid action. She’s also lucky she didn’t injure or kill someone.
Keep on doing that and she’ll be 6 feet under…….

Isn’t being uninsured illegal? Whats the penalty/fine for that? Garnish wages attached to her SS# until bill is paid, no matter how many years it takes. There must be consequences or this will keep happening.
