Concord residents John and Jennifer McKay-Weber will be holding the third annual “Walk for Noah” event on Sunday March 16th at 10:30am at the Lafayette Reservoir. The 2.7 mile walk and picnic will benefit the George Mark Children’s Home in San Leandro.

The George Mark Children’s House is where the McCay-Weber’s son, Noah, spent his final days before passing away due to a rare childhood liver disease when he was just an infant.

100% of the funds raised will go to the George Mark Children’s House.

This is such a great cause, and as a personal friend of Jen and John and their families, I have been fortunate enough to partipate in this over the past 2 years. Unfortunately I cannot be there this year, but I am sure it will continue to be a huge success! This family is an excellent example of how much positive can be done by turning a tragedy into a positive thing to help others. They should be commended. 😉

One other thing: I went to the website but it appears it isn’t working? Is the link correct Mayor??

What a great cause as Jason T has stated. What an amazing family. To have to endure the anguish, the pain and heartbreak of losing a child so young, I cannot even begin to fathom. What a very worthy cause for people who may possibly need this home in the future.

Man, I can’t imagine that loss, good for them for trying to make something positive of it.

Thanks Mayor for running the event!!! Xo
They are indeed a wonderful family. Same as Jason, we have been participating in the walk since the beginning, 3 years ago.
Come out and walk with us! It’s such a great event.

The George Mark house is so awesome. This is where we stayed for my nieces Chemotherapy and later for her end of life care. The people at the George Mark give the families the love and support. We were able to have some days of play and total enjoyment with my niece. The final day they were with us every step of the way. Never to close nor to far away. God Bless the George Mark house and all who work there.
