Cows Running on Bailey Rd. in Concord

Cows escaped from the Naval Weapons Station Property and are running loose on Bailey Rd.

Concord Police are on scene, and animal control is on their way.

Use caution if you’re in the area.

Going Out Tonight! February 28, 2014 at 6:43 PM

This is what I LOVE about Claycord. The total lowdown on “we may need to know this.”

We are heading out tonight. But we live in WC.

Thanks for the heads up. I hope everything is going to be all right…. February 28, 2014 at 6:48 PM

@Going Out Tonight, thanks for the nice words. Have fun tonight 🙂

Much of the fencing along Bailey is terrible I’m surprised they don’t get out more often.

It was that giant Flying Triangle and the fear of Cattle Mutalation that caused the Stampede!….Keep Watching the Sky!

Concord February 28, 2014 at 7:43 PM

and the horrid condition of that road is even worse than the fencing!

Slim February 28, 2014 at 7:43 PM

Glad to hear Concord is still a cow town.

mutts February 28, 2014 at 8:18 PM

What next?? Fluffy!?
I love this, animals on the loose. Bring on the llamas. At least it isn’t a leopard.

Mooooooove faster.

The last time cows got loose was on hwy4 and 680. The tailgate flew open and a coupla cows fell out and were killed . The driver pulled over but the rest of the haul got loose and were on NB 680 and on Hwy 4 btwn 680 and Morello. I left the office late and decided to get some fastfood. Bad decision! Me and about 400 other cars were stopped in the dark on a warm nite for about two hours until all the cattle could get rounded up. I couldn’t help but laugh at the whole event… there were big dark silhouettes running everywhere and very little anyone could do except to wait it out.

I heard the herd heard the man from Mac D was checking the herd out. Run like a all beef patty to save yourself.

Starving cows looking for food.

There are always cows on Bailey, it is the best way to get to Pittsburgh and Antioch.

Unhappy cows in CA…………this happens way too often in Concord.
It is utterly disturbing !

Larrabee March 1, 2014 at 10:06 AM

Cattle-ac owners are urged to steer clear, and homesteaders should pull up steaks and leave.

Cowellian March 1, 2014 at 10:10 AM

Udderly disturbing!

Why do I always miss the fun stuff??

Craig Cannon March 1, 2014 at 4:38 PM

Been Happening A lot Lately, in Many Places. Perhaps The Rain Had Lostened The Aging Fence Poles. I Hope Drivers Are Aware Cows Have Been Out, Both There and I Heard an Escape over On Willow Pass Lately. Hopefully No Cowtastophy. At least The Rain is Sparking New Growth in Our Pastures!

Comutin’ mutin, mutin,
All the car horns are tootin….
Keep them cows a movin’
Though they’re disapprovin,
Don’t try to drive around ’em,
Just leave them as you found ’em
Soon they will wander to the other side.
GPS is calculatin’ I’ll make it back to Clayton
Just add 20 minutes to my ride…
